-Chapter 14-

I SHALL QUICKLY APOLOGISE FOR... MAYBE A FOREVER LATE UPDATE. . Excuse? Er... Exams, relationship crap and family crap. But here's the next chapter; no promises on updating speed anymore. However, the promise to finish this story is still there. :33

-DannyDipstick -3-

"Goodbye, Ember!"

Her gun was abruptly blasted out of her hand by an odd shuriken-type weapon, shaped like a red x.

Before Emily could rage and destroy whoever interfered with her desires, she stopped to widen her eyes and dramatically drop to her knees, noticing instantly whose weapons they were. "... I-It's you..."

Floating a few feet away from her was Red X himself. Red X stood there, wearing a completely black bodysuit that had a red-x placed right over his left pectoral muscle, an ash-grey utility belt with matching gloves that have red Xs on the palms and back of the hands, a pair of black boots with steel-soles and a black cape that had an ash-grey interior. His mask was a white skull, with no lower jaw, on a black full-face mask and a red x starting on his forehead and with a point of the x ending beneath his right eye. His eyes were white reflective lens and were outlined in black.

In a low and electronically voiced tone, through his mask, he looked down at his signature weapon (the shuriken he threw) and returned it back to his power belt. Using his X-wrist blade, he was releasing Ember and Danny gradually, knowing Emily wouldn't even try to stop him.

"So Emily, you going to stand there with your jaw hanging, or are you going to tell me why you almost shot Ember McLain point-blank to the forehead?" Red X asked, not taking his eyes off the ghost energy enforced chains.

"W-Why else? She did kind of take you away from me..." She replied, mumbling and twiddling her thumbs.

"Ember, didn't you try to explain to her what actually happened?" Red X asked rhetorically, before answering, "No, obviously not, seeing as she's still pretty pissed at you."

After Ember and Danny were free, Ember had plans to leave straightaway, though Danny stayed to hear the actual story from Red X's point of view as he stood there, telling Emily what truly happened.

"Look, what you thought happened was that Ember made out with me and then used some type of spell on her guitar to control me, right?" He asked, rubbing the side of his head, silently wondering how he was going to explain what happened, gently.

"Yes, that is exactly what happened." The psychopath stuck up her nose snootily and turned her head to glare slightly at Ember (Danny).

"Ha, I thought just as much. What actually happened was... well, funny story... There were no spells involved." He said truthfully.

"How does that even make sense!? You kissed her back! She must've put a spell on you, considering you also dated her after and everything, when you were in love with me!" Emily was pulling on her hair, feeling nothing short of confusing and irritation.

"Yeah, see, I was in love with you, but then I saw Ember freakin' McLain by the bar and I just had to talk to her. We hit it off, I was a bit of a flirt and hell, she was a little drunk, so I was being cheeky and I said something along the lines of 'You know, my lips aren't going to kiss themselves...' and it was cheesy, I know, but it still got her to kiss me." Red X smiled, remembering how that pick up line turned out.

Emily looked speechless.

"After, when you thought she had a spell on me, what actually was going down was that I fell for Ember. I broke up with you, dated Ember for a month or so before she broke up with me for accidentally cheating-"

"How the hell do you 'accidentally' cheat!?" Danny exploded; enraged anyone would cheat on Ember.

"Ember, I've explained this to you before. She or someone else spiked my drink and well, I couldn't think straight..." He shrugged, brushing the thought away.

"If anyone should be shot point-blank to the forehead, it should be Red X for cheating and falling in love with a ton of people." Danny commented, not caring what he was saying out loud.

"Don't you think you owe her an apology?" Ember asked Red X, being considerate because she truly felt a little sympathetic for Emily and she was pretending to be Danny after all, too.

Red X stood there awkwardly before stretching his neck to the left, taking a step back from everyone. "I don't do apologies, kid."

Red X opened an X portal next to him, turned and walked halfway in, but turned around and heard, "There is no way in hell I'm losing you again!" Emily dived and pushed herself and Red X into his portal to whatever destination he set.

After their leave, Danny and Ember stood there a little uneasily.

"OH, Ember, guess what!?" Danny abruptly asked out of nowhere.

"What?" Ember asked, clueless, looking at Danny oddly because of the random outburst.

"Actually... nothing." Danny shrugged it off.

"No, what were you going to say?" Ember asked interestedly, tilting her head to the side.

"Nothing, nothing." Danny waved the thought away, as if to ask to change the conversation.

"No, God damn it, dipstick, what were you going to say!?" Ember asked again, getting more irritated.

"Pfft, I told you, it doesn't matter." Danny smirked slightly, though it was obvious he was trying not to.

"I'll pin you down and force you to tell me if you don't. Don't doubt me, I will do it." Ember said, keeping a straight and serious face.

Danny didn't reply. He was 50% sure Ember would, but the other 50% being that he doubted she would purposely get closer to him by choice.

Without hesitation, Ember grabbed Danny's wrists and pushed him backwards onto the ground of the green floating island.

A noticeable blush was coming upon both their cheeks. "Tell me." Ember breathed.

"Fine..."

"Well?"

Danny sighed slightly before smirking, "What I was going to say was... you said you love me."

Ember's blush turned a lot brighter. Ember silently got up off Danny and awkwardly coughed, "You know, maybe I should go back to your parents' place... and we'll check Ron's place tomorrow." Ember turned away from Danny and flew ahead.

-The Next Day- ((3 DAYS UNTIL CONCERT))

-Fenton Works-

Ember sat down on Danny's bed, throwing a tennis ball back and forth against the one of the walls, feeling bored.

Ember sighed and thought about the night before in the Ghost Zone, 'What's going to happen between the dipstick and I when we switch back? Are we going to be enemies again? Or... what?' Ember shook her head, getting rid of the passing thought. 'And what do I do about this Plasmius guy? Maybe I could... be the hero. Hero business can't be that hard.' Ember was lost for logic. 'It's not like I need to care anyway.'

Within the passing few minutes, Danny teleported into the room with his head bouncing side to side in what appeared to be joy.

"And you're happy, why?" Ember asked in a slight mood as she threw the tennis ball at Danny's head.

Danny groaned, rubbing the side of his head in irritation. "You know, I have every right to be happy since we'll be changing back in 3 days."

Ember was aware of this and nodded her head. "This wasn't the worse experience in the world, I guess..." Ember stated quietly.

"Oh? Is this EMBER looking at the bright side? That's a first." Danny cheekily said, sitting in his desk chair.

"All I'm saying is that it could've been Klemper's body I swapped with or something." Ember cringed, feeling a slight chill up her spine with the thought of how unpleasant that experience would be.

"WILL YOU BE MY FRIENDDD?" Danny imitated, throwing his arms about, and to Danny's surprise, Ember laughed.

Danny suddenly outburst, "We should go to Ronnie's place!" Ember wasn't complaining, nor questioning, so they went.

-Ronnie/Don's realm-

The two teenagers entered the realm, only to find Ronnie working on a different guitar.

Ember "Danny" walked up to him, innocently tapping him on the shoulder. "May I help you?" Ronnie said, turning his head to meet Ember's fist to his jaw.

Thrashing into his desk, Ronnie clicked his jaw back into place and got up to dust himself off, calmly. "Mr Phantom, may I help you?" Ronnie widened his eyes in wonder and astonishment, as he pressed certain points on his chin to see where the bruises and pain were, if any.

"What the hell do you even think you're doing?" Ember asked, glaring at him and the guitar on his desk, which definitely wasn't hers, as it was jet-black with a small streak of crimson-red across the neck of it with a few dents at the side of it, like it's been used to whack the back of someone's head countless times.

"Don't get mad, but-" He stopped in the middle of his sentence to realise "Danny" was way passed "mad" already, "Er... Well, you see, this gentleman offered a lot for his to be repaired first, as he's playing for the HaruHika concert after Ember." He looked Ember straight in the eye.

"I don't care what this bastard gave you, but I can guarantee that whatever he gave you will not repair the damage that I'm going to cause to your realm if you don't continue working on Ember's guitar." Ember's eyes burned with fury and she took a step forward with the intention of nerve-wrecking Ronnie.

"I swear to God, you're on your man-period or something..." Ronnie sighed, clicking his fingers as he pushed the other gentleman's guitar aside to work on Ember's.

"So, let's skip the small talk and talk about what happened with Emily." Ronnie showed a slight smirk, knowing this would start up a brilliant conversation between him, Ember and Phantom. "And before you two even think of playing innocent and clueless, it was all over ghost TV."

"... Uh..." Danny began, as he was Ember. As Danny, Ember continued with, "There was a psychopath after Ember, that's all there is to it, to be honest."

Ronnie smirked at them both, with the face that meant he knew something that they didn't, and that face was the exact reason why Ember wanted to knock his teeth out. He shrugged, swivelled his chair to a desk with a floating screen above, like the screens at Clockwork's realm. He swiped across the screen until he came to the right page he wanted to get to, which was a clipping of the latest ghostly news in the Ghost Zone.

As Ronnie turned the screen, so it was in their view, it read,

"MCLAIN AND PHANTOM ALMOST MET THEIR FATE~

A citizen of the Ghost Zone has reported that he'd seen Ember McLain; well-known pop-punk princess of the Ghost Zone and human realm, and Danny Phantom, hero of Amity and enemy of the Ghost Zone, were chained and trapped together by what appeared to be ghost energy enforced chains. Both chained together as they both were about to meet their fate as a peculiar weapon, similar to ones in the Human Realm, were aimed at them both."

The only thing Ember got from this news was that someone was watching and saw the whole thing, but didn't even think to drop in and help them out.

"If I may ask... What happens to a halfa when one dies? Do they go into afterlife or after-afterlife?" Ronnie wondered out loud, scratching the size of his face. "Maybe we should track down Emily, ask for that gun and find out!" Ronnie joked, only to be slapped across the face by Ember, "Danny" because she took him seriously, in this serious situation of it being all over the news.

"Oh, and what's this?" Ronnie asked in an odd tone of voice as he gazed back over the news.

Danny and Ember turned to each other, both with confused faces.

"And here it says you two confessed your love for each other!" Ronnie said in shock, widening his mouth while staring at the two teens, which looked as if they'd just seen the world come to its end.

"Oh my God, hilarious." Ronnie cried laughing, slapping his knee in joy at their faces. "I was only joking, you two. Damn, your faces. Friggin' priceless." He wiped a tear from his eye as he covered his large, smiley mouth, trying not to show them he was taking the maximum possible joy out of this. "The interesting thing is that by the look on your faces, I can tell you two totally did confess, too." He was a little calmer as that was said, and the large smile turned into more of an odd smirk.

Danny rubbed the back of his neck because he wasn't sure how Ember was going to reply, so he decided to wait for her say in the matter first. Though Ember gave him the same look in return that meant she was waiting for him to comment first.

Danny began to panic and increased the look he was aiming at Ember to urge Ember to go first and answer. Ember saw what he was trying to do, but shook her head slightly and nudged her head upright a little, implying to Danny that she wants him to go first.

"I'm not getting any younger, guys. An answer anytime would be nice..." Ronnie said, yawning lightly. Ronnie then quietly added, "I'm not really getting any older anyway... so, actually, take your time, guys!" He said, bringing the joy of being a ghost up.

Ember smirked slightly and bowed, with a hand held snugly behind her back as her other rested on her chest. She said, "Ladies first!"

Danny rolled his eyes and sighed as he replied to Ronnie's statement, "W-Well, you see. Phantom and I might've, at some point of that situation, said a few things to each other that was more of an in the moment kind of thing and we didn't mean anything by it."

"You know what you, my ex-girlfriend and a bull have in common?" Ronnie asked, raising an eyebrow, but quickly answered, "You all bullshit."

Ember stepped in and questioned Ronnie himself, "So, if I may damn well ask how your progress is going? If it's even going at all?"

"It obviously is." Ronnie rolled his eyes, wondering how "Danny" could ask such a stupid question.

"Why did you and your ex-girlfriend break up? You two bullshitters sound like a match made in heaven." Before Ronnie could ask why Ember would say he's lying, Ember continued to her point, "How can you be progressing in fixing Ember's guitar if you're sat here accusing Ember and I of confessing irrelevant crap to each other?"

The room fell silent for a moment. When Ronnie pieced his sentence together, he looked up and gave an exaggerated sigh. "Jeez, when did Danny Phantom, hero of Amity, become such a whiny bitch? Just when I thought you and Ember couldn't be more perfect for each other. Anywhore, it's getting late; do you guys want to stay over?"

"What are we? Teenage girls on a sleepover party? And I'm assuming you want to have pillow fights and talk about boys while we're at it?" Ember asked with a large amount of sarcasm in her voice.

"As fun as that sounds, don't you have parents and a house in Amity you have to get to, Danny?" Danny asked, raising an eyebrow, reminding Ember that she was him.

-The Next Day, Fenton Works-

Ember woke up to the sound of Danny's alarm clock for school. "Oh, it's Monday today... Well isn't that wonderful." Ember looked down at Danny's phone and saw a message from Sam that was sent around ten minutes before she woke up. It read, "Danny, we might need to talk."

"Looks like dipstick's about to get dumped; I should try working on being sad at that moment like I cared." Ember stated quietly, sighing as she frowned slightly, trying not to show a glimpse of joy. Within seconds she began smiling over the fact Danny may likely get broken up with at school, "Well crap, this is going to be difficult."

-At School-

Sam and Tucker waited for Danny to walk around the corner to school. When "Danny" showed up, Tucker instantly left, as he didn't want to be present for the awkward conversation that was about to take place.

There was another individual by a tree near where Sam was standing. They were both talking and laughing. "Hey, Danny, did you get my text?" Sam asked, rubbing the side of her arm gracelessly.

Ember quietly replied with, "Oh, yeah, I did. So, what was it you wanted to talk to me about?"

"Well, you remember Anthony from our science class, right?" Sam gestured towards the guy under the tree who got up, placed his phone back in his pocket and rubbed a bit of mud off his pants. He was taller than Danny, by about 4 inches and he had long, brown hair that covered one of his eyes.

"Uh... for fun, let's say I don't know who you are." Ember hadn't ever seen him before, nor does she pay attention in science classes, so she had no clue of Anthony's existence.

"Oh. Well, I'm Anthony, hey." He said it with a straight face and nodded his head slightly at Ember.

"... Hey..." Ember awkwardly replied, silently wondering how any girl could ditch Danny for this guy.

Sam broke the stroppy tension between Ember and Anthony by saying, "Er... Danny, Anthony and I started talking again over Facebook and we just kind of hit it off; Anthony's actually an ex of mine, and we just kind of got back together again. Do you think we could just be friends?"

Ember tried not to reply excitedly and quickly. She pretended to look upset and think for a minute. Ember faked a sigh and spoke with fake grief, "... It's alright, Sam." Sam reached out for a charming hug, and Ember tried her best not to smirk and puke at the same time.

During the hug, the school bell went and students outside who were catching up on their weekend were piling up in the hallways of the school, making their way to homeroom.

Ember broke the hug, and politely said, "See you guys in class." Ember smiled slightly to show "Danny" was okay with the breakup and not depressed, thrashed and heartbroken. Following suit, Sam gave Anthony a quick kiss and they both made their ways to their own homeroom.
