AN- This filler piece came to me in the middle of working an update for another story, so I decided to post it. It's short but gives additional background information.

Time Will Reunite Us

Chapter 14

Fitz tosses and turns in his sleep. Ancient words of distress escape his lips as he relives some painful memory. Olivia caresses his face but does nothing to quiet his spirit even though it's within her power to do so. His emerging ka must be allowed to gain a stronger foothold in his present incarnation and his dreams are the key.

"Oh my beloved, soon you will remember everything." She kisses his brow, encircles him in her arms, and rests her head on his chest. Her gentle touch is enough. His breathing evens out, his whispers become calmer and a new dream takes over.

The Dream

"Wife are you ready to tell me what troubles you?" Fitzah is holding Olivia in his arms in their bed.

"Troubles me? What makes you think worry has cast its' shadow upon me?"

"Your eyes and countenance betray you. I miss the brightness in your eyes and joyful lightness in your smile. Where is my cheery beloved? Do you still mourn you father's passing? Do you think the gods will not favor us because he did bless our union?"

"No", she shakes her head giving a weak smile.

"Then what holds your sweet spirit hostage my love?"

"I have kept a great secret from you my husband. One I can no longer hide for my enemies have found out, and they are dangerous."

"No man would dare touch Pharaoh's master builder or his family. Fear not wife, you are safe with me."

"I fear no man, for no man can harm me." Fitzah pulls away from Olivia not understanding her defiant claim.

"Livvie, are you marked by the gods?" Being marked would explain her bold confession.

"No husband, I am not marked, for a god cannot be marked." Fitzah's stare goes from curiosity to concern. Have the gods touched his Livvie with madness?

"Wife, you're tired in need of rest, come lay down."

"Husband I am neither tired or mad. The words I speak will be difficult for you to hear but I will no longer hide my true being from you."

Olivia takes Fitzah's hand and whisks him away to her temple. Fitzah disoriented from the trip stumbles away from his wife. He looks around and realizes he is in Hathor's temple. He slaps his own face, believing he is caught up in a strange waking dream. The temple is filled with worshippers yet no one is moving, they're all frozen in place like living statues.

"What trickery is this Olivia? Who are you?" He roars confronting her.

"This is no trickery husband." Olivia changes into Hathor's full splendor.

Fitz drops to his knees in fear.

Hathor quickly changes back into Olivia, fear is last thing she wants Fitzah to feel.

"Husband", she whispers reaching for him. Fitzah falls backwards avoiding her touch. What possibly could Hathor want from him, a mere mortal.

"I don't understand. What do you want from me", he asks now on his knees his face to floor.

Olivia comes to sit by him, keeping a comfortable distance.

"Years ago, I attended your birth. Your mother and father were faithful worshippers and I wanted to bless their child. Normally, I can see a child's future, their talents, their struggles, their dreams all in one glance. But you, you were different. I could see nothing. You were a complete mystery. I was intrigued. I wondered whether you were a god in hiding or wanting to experience mortal life from beginning to end. Then you looked into my eyes. You saw me. No mortal had ever seen me in my intangible state. I could feel you looking into ka. From then on, I watched over you, marveling at your talent and loving heart. When I saw you under the tree at the festival, our tree, I could no longer deny my attraction to you. Talking to you, debating you, laughing with you, endeared you even more to me."

"Like a pet." Fitz mumbles wistfully.

"No never! Do not ever utter such falsehood again! I have only ever viewed you as a strong, brilliant, loving man. A man who made me wish I was mortal. The day of the festival, when I saw you under our tree was the first time I had a glimpse into your future. I saw us together, in love and happy. I did not care if it was for one day or a thousand days, the joy I felt from the vision was enough to bring me a millennium of happiness."

Fitzah lifts his head to face his wife. "You honestly love me?"

"More than anything beloved. Always have, always will, until time is no more. I will carry your ka to Duat and visit you in paradise until I ascend to the Nile in Heaven. I shall take no other mortal as a husband or love any mortal as I love you." Olivia reaches for him, this time he doesn't flinch.

"You've placed no enchantment upon me? My love for you is genuine?"

"Search your heart my love. Do you sense any dark magic? Do you feel chicanery's influence or the slightest hint of an unfamiliar sway?"

Fitzah, remains silent searching his heart and feelings, never taking his eyes off Olivia. He places her hand on his heart.

"I sense no darkness or any unfamiliar sway. I feel only deep abiding eternal love."

A lone tear reveals Olivia's heart. Fitzah wipes it away with the pad of his thumb and draws Olivia in for a stirring kiss. The kiss deepens, arousing their desire. Olivia transports them back to their bed and they waste no time undressing. Fitzah makes love to his wife, taking her to new heights of ecstasy. Every moan, scratch and kiss compel him to drive deeper, to worship her body more fully until he's exhausted. He lays flat on his back, chest heaving. Olivia straddles his side kissing his chest.

"Husband, I have something else to tell you."

"Wife what more can you reveal? I do not fear your enemies, for none are more powerful than you except Ra." Olivia smiles.

"Beloved, we just conceived a child." Fitzah bolts up, grabbing Olivia in an ecstatic embrace. He is beside himself with happiness. He has found his true love and they are starting their family. He wants for nothing and is content.

Hathor on the other hand senses her enemies are plotting to take away her happiness. She swears by Ra's name to protect her family and to destroy anyone who poses a threat.

End dream

Fitz smiles in his sleep, he won't remember the dream particulars in the morning, other than he dreamt something wonderful and Olivia was in it by his side.
