Chapter Fourteen- Pocahontas's Letter

John wasn't the only one that wrote a letter to a loved one. Pocahontas wrote one for him, too. She couldn't leave without telling him how much she loved him. John had told her he knew she loved him, but Pocahontas didn't know if he knew just how much.

Dear John,

If you are reading my letter to you, I'm on my way to England to save your life. I can do it, John. I can save you. I promise. I've done it before and I can do it again.

I hope you know how much I love you, John. I know you love me, and I know that you know I love you.

I understand that it's the king I'm going to talk to. I know I could fail. I'm fully well aware of that. I'm also very well aware that I could not get back in time. But I have to try. I have to try to save you. I could never live with myself if I just sat back and let them kill you. I could never live with myself if I didn't at least try.

No matter what happens, John, I will always love you. And I hope that even if I fail, you will still love me as much as I love you. If I were with you right now, you'd say I'm crazy, but I just had to get my feelings out. I'll always be with you, too, John.

Remember, you're innocent until you're proven guilty.

Love,

Pocahontas

John thought about the letter Pocahontas had written him. She was right. He would have said she was crazy. He would always love her, no matter what she did. And he hoped she knew that. Even if she didn't make it back, he would love her until he day he died.
