Fionna had never felt so uncomfortable in her entire life, and she had been in plenty of awkward situations before for Glob's sake! Like when she saw Marshall Lee n***, or when Flame Prince saw her in her underclothes, or even that one time she had to sit through "the talk" with Cake.
Though nothing could top this moment, as she sat by and watched Dark Marshall and Marshall Lee going back and forth about the plan, feeling like she was being pulled from both sides.
"Dude, I don't care how you want to put it. You. Are not. Going to the future. Alone. With. My. GIRLFRIEND!" Marshall Lee growled.
"Ah, but she is my girlfriend too yah know. We are the same person, and I'm merely the cooler version of you." Dark Marshall teased as he then turned to Fionna and spoke in a sickly sweet tone. "Fionna? What do you want to do?"
"Actually-" She was cut off suddenly by a frantic Marshall.
"You can't go with her by yourself. I don't care how you put it." He growled in a low tone at himself.
"I still think it's a bad idea. They'll take one look at us and know we're not from there." He replied in a simple tone.
"Then you stay here." Marshall Lee suggested in a rather smug voice.
"Like that'll happen." He scoffed bitterly. "I'm going with and thats final."
"I'm not leaving you alone with Fionna." Marshall shot back in a possive tone, making the blonde girl frown.
While Fionna was in fact thankful for Marshall' s concern about her well being, there were still two things she hated more than anything in the world:
1.) Evil bad guys who have no hope of being good.
2.) People trying to run her life.
Meanwhile, the two continued to go back and forth like that, with Marshall Lee trying yelling and trying to get his point across and his dark side just ignoring his opinion.
"Hey!" She yelped fiercely, getting their attention suddenly.
"Marsh, I get you're just trying to look out for me. Honestly, I get it... Your Dark side-"
"I go by Knight now." He cut in suddenly.
"What?" Fionna asked quickly as he shrugged and folded his arms a tad rebelliously.
"I don't like Marshall Lee anymore. That's getting old." The vampire suddenly clenched his fists in anger at the other's tone. "I like Knight better."
"Look... Your dar- Knight can be a little annoying and obnoxious and... Downright mean," She stepped closer to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "But at the end of the day, he's a part of you. Which means he won't hurt me. He loves me just like you. You can trust him."
Marshal Lee took a deep breath as he gently put one of his cold hands over Fionna's warm one. He felt his anger slowly eb away into a warm love that he only felt when his beloved human was around. He still didn't fully trust himself, but he did trust Fionna to be loyal and keep her word.
"Alright." He finally huffed out, gently letting go of her hand.
Fionna gave him a smile in return and grabbed her adventure sack. She pulled out the little marble that Shoku gave her a year before.
'Just rub it like a lamp...' She had said, and Fionna reluctantly grabbed Knight's hand.
She couldn't deny the tingling sensation his touch gave her, but she shook her head quickly and the feeling went away just as fast as it had come.
"We'll be back as soon as possible." She said, noting the look on Marshall's face. "I promise."
She glanced up at Knight as he smiled down at her and gripped her hand. She looked away from him and once again she rubbed the marble between her thumb and pointer finger. Instantly, the world around her began to shatter and crumble like glass as the pieces bent at odd angles. Her pupils began to swirl around in her head as what was left around her suddenly went white.
I'm sorry for the other slight...short...long delay. I've got school work galor. But I'll fit writing in my schedule somewhere.
But all the same please review!
