Several times on the trip to the desert city of Agrabah, Jasmin managed to successfully jump from the hovering cruiser into the sand below. After three attempts, Genie had finally had enough. As a result, he handcuffed her to the car itself, causing the girl to once again erupt in curses and swears. Thoroughly annoyed, a scarf suddenly appeared over her mouth. It was so hot outside of the Land of the Black Sand that Jasmin finally stopped fussing, choosing instead to glare at her captor for the entire ride while humming obnoxiously. Reaching the security of the palace, Genie tightened her handcuffs but allowed Jasmin to speak.
"Mozenrath did not kidnap me, you idiots." she said harshly as Genie made her walk through a metal detector. Abu, dressed in a tiny police uniform, stood behind Genie with an open sack. The two of them confiscated Jasmin's earrings, bracelets, belt, and even her shoes. She stood barefoot in a pair of chocolate brown leggings and a tea stained mini dress.
"I'm sorry Missy, but none of us believe that story. Al and Jas heard screaming coming from the Psycho's house last night." Genie explained.
"You were spying?" the girl asked the young couple, her voice had risen several octaves. "What the hell is wrong with you people? We could have been-" Genie plucked the pendant from Jasmin's neck. Her hand quickly lashed out, gripping tightly onto the djinn's wrist. "Not that!" she begged, with wide scared eyes. "My grandfather gave it to me, before he died." She lied, expertly choking back tears.
"Sorry lass, but everything goes! We'll keep it safe for you." Genie said, shrinking down to a leprechaun and placing the necklace carefully in Abu's bag.
"I am not brainwashed! Mozenrath and I are dating." she mumbled the last part but continued to glare. She swallowed hard, trying to gain strength in her voice. "I love him!" she said with a confidence she never thought she could muster. Genie's jaw dropped like a ton of bricks. Carpet attempted to use his tassels to lift Genie's jaw back into place. Princess Jasmine gasped and covered her mouth in disbelief. Iago and Abu shrieked and made barfing noises in unison while Aladdin mumbled a few unsavory words, earning a glare from the captive woman.
"Al, Mozenrath took you seriously about getting a girlfriend and she's just as nuts as him!" the bird shouted, causing the man to chuckle.
"I never thought he'd take me seriously. Heck, I never thought there would be anyone willing to date him." Aladdin said in astonishment.
"He washed her brain clean!" The djinn announced as he was suddenly clothed in hospital scrubs with a mask over his mouth. A table appeared under Jasmin, strapping her down to keep her from escaping. He then pulled on a large pair of white latex gloves before pulling out a massive syringe. The young woman's eyes grew wide as she begged him to stay away. Her begs quickly turned into vicious threats as she screamed and fought against her restraints. When Genie stabbed the needle into her arm, the obscenities began to fall into silence as the young woman fought to stay conscious. Her head lolled to the side, her eyes growing heavy with each passing second. A minute later she was out, giving Genie his much needed time to pick her brain.
In the Citadel, Mozenrath stalked the silent halls while trying to formulate a sure fire plan to get the young woman back. Xerxes watched his master pace around the fortress and amongst the rubble. The sorcerer mumbled scenarios under his breath, all of which he quickly scrapped to the side. Without the gauntlet, there was a minimal chance he'd be able to successfully obtain both the gauntlet and the woman. He had been doing this since jasmin's kidnapping. Finally the sorcerer stopped and looked up at his familiar.
"Xerxes... Any ideas?" Mozenrath asked, attempting to keep his desperation under control.
"Tell girlfriend's parents?" Xerxes said in a questioning tone. Mozenrath thought it over. Anything was beginning to sound good to him, but he knew that involving them would be a problem in itself. There was no way to get in contact with them anyway. Mozenrath walked to her room, picking up the little green music player from the table. He discovered an entire list of new songs. Taking the time to listen to them, he realized that one specific album was all he needed to send his muddled mind into full throttle. About an hour later, Mozenrath shot up away from the bed.
"I've got it!" He shouted, scaring the life out of the melancholy eel beside him. A mischievous grin broke across his face as he told Xerxes the plan. The familiar nodded happily as he praised his master. They left her room, preparing to steal the woman back as The Drug in Me is You album by Falling in Reverse played as a soundtrack to their plans.
"So how bad did he brainwash her?" A male voice asked.
Jasmin couldn't open her eyes but she could hear the activity around her. An older male cleared his throat.
"Actually, Al... He didn't do anything. How she feels, in all of its twisted glory, is real." It was Genie, his voice was for once very calm, almost sad. There was another voice that spoke up. It was much higher than the previous two.
"We didn't just ruin their relationship, did we?" She asked, fully regretting the groups actions.
"No! No good would have come out of that anyway!" An eccentric voice sqwaked. The sound of flapping wings followed his statement, as if the talking bird was shaking with confidence.
"Iago's right. We just stopped a problem before it even had a chance to start." Aladdin agreed. Jasmin could feel the young man's ego expanded. The monkey screeched his reply as the sound of the carpet thumped out his answer. But soon everyone's voices began to blur and grow faint as Jasmin strained to listen.
"We'll just have to change her memories of Wonderboy!" Genie said quickly. Before she could hear anything else, she had become deaf to their words.
When Jasmin woke, there was no way for he to be certain of the time. The cold stone room received only the barest amount of light from the door across from her. It was a large wooden door with a square cut out at eye level. In the empty space were metal bars.
'Great' she thought, 'the palace dungeon... I should have expected this'. She sighed aloud, noticing how dry her mouth was. Her head was still reeling from whatever the djinn had injected her with. The discomfort she felt was second to her need for freedom. Moving slowly, Jasmin could hear the clatter of chains and the weight of heavy shackles on her ankles. She was tethered to the wall, giving her only about 4 feet of controlled movement. The sound of footsteps down a hall caught her attention. She could see a patrolling guard peeking in the little window. Without saying a word, he went back the way he came. Not long after, a lighter pair of footsteps stopped at her cell.
"Jasmin?" she heard the Princess call quietly. The imprisoned women let out a groan in response as she stood up to get as close to the door as she could. "I'm so sorry about everything that has happened." The beautiful young woman apologized, as she walked into the darkened room to give the other a small cup of water. "Genie said you'd be thirsty after... It was just something to help you calm down. We didn't know that you and Mozenrath were..." It was difficult for her to continue. Though Jasmin was angry, she was content with having something to drink. She gulped down the water graciously. Without another the word, the Princess took her leave out of the dank prison cell. The fatigue had begun to creep up once again, but this time something was different. Jasmin searched through her groggy thoughts, realizing the truth too late; The water. They had laced it with something that went undetected by her currently numbing taste buds. Jasmin jammed her finger into her throat, forcing up as much of the tainted liquid as she could, but whatever was added had already begun to take affect in her system.
"So, did she drink it?" Genie asked, zipping over to the Princess as she stepped through the doorway of the throne room.
"She did, but I feel so horrible for this. They really cared for each other." she answered ruefully. Iago perched himself onto her shoulder.
"We know that she liked him, but Mozenrath was most likely just using her." the bird said in a persuasive tone. Princess Jasmine nodded once, a small smile tugging her lips as she followed the others out into the garden. About fifteen minutes later, halfway through a round of mini golf, Aladdin could see Razoul marching over to them with his trademark scowl marring his face.
"That girl keeps yelling!" he exclaimed with his hands balled into tight fists, a feeble attempt to stay calm. The Princess dismissed the disgruntled guard before going back inside with the others. Aladdin stealthy walked down the stairs into the hallway where the cells were located. He called out the young woman's name, unsure of what she actually remembered.
"Aladdin?!" she answered while desperately pulling on her restraints. He opened the door and instantly felt pity for the girl. The tears in her eyes nearly made him rethink their choice. Nearly. If he had to risk her memory to save all of Agrabah, he would do it again. "What am I doing here?" she questioned through hiccups. Aladdin freed the girl from her chains. He did regret leaving her down her. Telling her the truth was not a possibility, so Aladdin avoided her question.
"Come on. Let's get you out of here." he said in a soft tone.
The pair slowly walked up the stairs and through the palace to the Princess' bedchamber. Jasmin clung to the streetrat the entire way there. In the room, everyone did their best to keep the young woman calm. Genie suggested that they clean her up. The Princess smiled and turned the males away, giving Jasmin time to enjoy a much needed spa treatment. When the spa was over a couple hours later, the American ate along with the others. To pass the time afterwards, the group had begun several competitions, the first being arm wrestling. Following that the group shared stories and laughs about things that they've experienced. Though she wouldn't tell her friends, Jasmin knew something was wrong in the pit of her stomach, but it was impossible to tell what exactly left her feeling unsettled. As the sun began to set on the horizon, everyone made there way to their rooms for the night. The room Jasmin occupied was located beside the Princess' while Aladdin, Genie, Iago, Abu and Carpet all slept in the room on the opposite side. The room itself was no where near as large, but having the woman nearby made Aladdin feel less anxious. Inside of the room was a small trunk that held Mozenrath's gauntlet as well as Jasmin's necklace. Both magical items began to glow blue and red creating a dim violet hue.
"It won't be long now." Mozenrath said confidently to Xerxes who giggled menacingly. The dark sorcerer sat upon his horse atop a large dune of sand, shielding his face from the windswept sand. The moon was bright, illuminating the dark desert outside of the normally bustling city. Everything was silent. Everyone was asleep. Xerxes wrapped himself around Mozenrath's neck to keep warm. They both knew that tonight's task would be difficult but worth it. Mozenrath guided the horse forward, covering his face with his dark cloak to keep from being recognized if a guard was to notice him. He approached the outer wall without any problem. Abandoning the black mare, Mozenrath stealthily scaled the wall with Xerxes gliding beside him. They both disappeared into the city, using his former plans to take over Agrabah as a blueprint.
Jasmin lied in bed in the realm between sleep and wakefulness. She was so close to finally falling into a slumber but something was gnawing at the back of her mind like a starving hyena with a bone. She rolled over and saw the strange light emitting from the trunk. Just like Bluebeard, Genie told her not to go into the trunk, but temptation was calling to her like a whisper on a breeze. The young woman quietly crawled out of the bed and walked to the radiating light. Peering down into the keyhole, Jasmin strained to see the glowing contents. She wouldn't betray her friends by digging through something that had nothing to do with her, but if she could just get a glimpse, her curiosity would be sated. Jasmin stood up to go back to bed whilst pouting. She closed her eyes, breathing deeply as she counted down from one thousand. She soon dozed off somewhere around nine hundred and fifty.
Inside the city walls, Mozenrath stalked the dark alleyways leading to the palace, making sure to use the shadows as cover from the patrolling guards. The only way to get inside of the large building was through the Princess's room from her balcony. Mozenrath and Xerxes scaled the inner wall which separated the palace from the city. After dropping into the garden below, the intruders ran through the spiraling maze of a yard, passed the fountain that sat directly below the balcony. Mozenrath then started to climb the trellis wall of desert ivy along the side of the palace, ascending high above the ground until he reached the stone balcony. He climbed over the railing and went to the large open door. A slight breeze caused the sheer curtain to billow out, giving Mozenrath a full view of the richly furnished bed chamber. The Princess was sleeping soundly on her bed while her pet tiger lie sleeping at the foot end. There was no one else around. Mozenrath signaled Xerxes to watch the tiger as he attempted to silently cross the room. As he neared the door, Rajah woke and began to quietly prowl behind the sorcerer, before the big cat could pounce, Xerxes wrapped himself around his mouth, keeping Rajah quiet as Mozenrath disappeared into the hallway.
Mozenrath looked down the dark hall knowing Jasmin was close. Aladdin was simple so she had to be as close as possible. His dark eyes fell on a door to his left, a familiar power seemed to seep from under the door. He opened said door slowly and smirked when he saw the young woman sleeping inside. He was surprised that the door was unlocked but that wasn't important. The gauntlet's power stole his attention. Mozenrath walked over to the trunk, quickly examing it for traps. Finding it clear, he picked the lock then placed the magical leather glove onto his skeletal hand, almost moaning in happiness as the warm power zipped through him. He was glad to have his magic back. He gazed down at the woman, shaking her lightly.
"Wake up Jasmin. We have to go!" he whispered urgently. The young woman opened her eyes groggily while yawning.
"Who are you?" She asked, her eyes not yet adjusted to the darkness.
"Keep quiet or they'll hear you. We don't need the streetrat running in here." He whispered harshly while throwing the blanket off of her. Before she could protest with a scream, someone else beat her to it. A raspy screech could be heard echoing through the halls. Xerxes was swimming through the air as fast as he could to get away from Rajah. Mozenrath could hear the others waking, his plan was falling apart. He pulled the protesting yong woman to him and forced the necklace around her neck. Jasmin's body went rigid in his arms, flinching slightly as the memories came crashing into her mind. Her newly manicured nails gripped into clothes.
"Moze?" she asked through a pained groan.
"I'm here, but now is not the time. We have to go!" Mozenrath gripped the young woman's hand and pulled her along with him. She clumsily pulled on her sandals as they both ran for the door. Mozenrath blasted the door to pieces so he and Jasmin could go through. Xerxes came screaming from the other end of the hall with the wild cat and Aladdin right on his tail. The eel caught up to his master as the three of them ran towards to the Princess' bed chamber.
"Mozenrath!" Aladdin yelled menacingly, picking up speed to get a hold of his nemesis. The three of them ignored Aladdin as they reached the balcony. The moment the raven haired man teleported to the garden, Princess Jasmine pushed the other woman away, breaking the contact between the couple, thus leaving Jasmin on the balcony. He looked around for Jasmin but was suddenly blinded by a large spotlight from a helicopter above him. He looked around seeing an army or Genies and five police squad cars. Jasmin watched in anticipation from above with the Princess. Her next choice of action depended on what he did.
"HANDS UP! WE HAVE YOU SURROUNDED!" the djinn commanded from a megaphone in the helicopter. The pale man clenched his teeth and flicked his wrist causing the cars and helicopter to blow up in a flurry of blue fire and smoke. He was not going down without a fight and everyone knew it. Jasmin turned to the Princess, whom was already poised to attack. All of the Genies went back into the original in a process that resembled connecting water droplets. Below, Mozenrath cracked his knuckles as Aladdin charged at him; above, Jasmin aimed low to knock the Princess of her feet. The fight was on.
A cacophony of grunts erupted as the battle ensued. Aladdin and Mozenrath fought on the ground, while the two women thrashed each other on the balcony. Xerxes and Abu were attacking one another near the fountain while Iago, Carpet, and Rajah stood alert but to the side. Genie continuously interfered in each fight to give his close friends an upper hand, but most of his time was spent sending sharp icicles hurtling through the air at Mozenrath. The young ruler blocked them easily while on the defense from Aladdin. The Princess was fighting in a way to push Jasmin against the railing in an attempt to get the darker woman to surrender but it wouldn't happen. Though tired and injured, the young woman kept fighting. Jasmin backed away from the onslaught but misjudged her footing. The simple mistake left her open for the Princess to plant a swift kick to the American's chest sending her careening over the edge of the balcony. The sharp cry of pain and surprised that came from Jasmin's throat caught Mozenrath's attention. Jasmin was weakly gripping the bottom of the ornate balcony above him. The Princess tried desperately to reach her but she was too far down. Jasmin screamed, her fingertips releasing the marble lifeline. The dark sorcerer blasted Aladdin and Genie's projectiles to the side as he manipulated the fountain's water to spray harder in order catch the falling girl. While he was occupied with saving Jasmin's life, Mozenrath left himself wide open, giving Genie the perfect opportunity to send more objects at him. He slowly lowered her but the water suddenly stopped, dropping the girl the rest of the way. The air was quickly knocked out of her and a shrill ringing filled her ears. The djinn expected for the sorcerer to deflect the icicles coming at him, but he was proven wrong. A large stick of ice struck Mozenrath through the back, its bloody pointed tip protruding six inches out of the man's chest. Mozenrath tried to speak but only coughed, dropping down to his knees. Blood and water soaked his robes while blood spilled from his mouth. Jasmin's blurry eyes caught the sight of him falling over and onto the ground. She cried out pitifully while crawling to his side, mumbling in denial the entire way. The Princess released a bloodcurdling scream when the scene unfolding became clear. Aladdin held onto her tightly as Genie watched in disbelief. He never meant to do this. It was never supposed to get this far. Somehow it was not over. Mozenrath looked up at Jasmin's bruised face when she came into view. He strained to gasp for air while Jasmin held onto him, trying not to panic in front of the dying man. He reached up to her with his gloved hand and grabbed the pendant from around her neck. With what little power he still held, Mozenrath squeezed hard, splintering the metal before crushing it down into the ground. If he was going to die, she did not have to be there to witness it. Jasmin's eyes grew wide as she held onto his hand. She begged him not to do this to her, but it was too late. Red sparks began to surround her body as she cried out loud. The others watched as Jasmin disappeared. A small smile twitched at Mozenrath's mouth as he closed his eyes letting the cold darkness envelope him.
