I don't really have a good AN to think of right now :(
It was the morning after the vampire ball, in which the adults were discussing everything at the dining table while Sunako was fast asleep in bed. Hikari was sipping on her coffee, facing her parents, Seishin and Tatsumi.
"Tell me what happened, Hikari," Yuki commanded. Hikari slammed a fist on the table and stood up. "THAT SCUMBAG TOLD ME HE CONVINCED ZERO TO LET HIM LIVE AND SAID HE LIVED IN HIDING FOR 16 YEARS TO WAIT UNTIL NOW TO CONSULT ME, THAT BASTARD!"
Kaname shuddered. "Hikari. I couldn't get Zero back in his normal shape so he could kill Rido, so I retreated, and he fled the academy. I'm sorry." Hikari felt the emotional suffering. "That idiot… after 3000 or more years on this Earth… he still doesn't know how to feed himself at the expense of his own family. At first Grandmother was his target… then it was mother… and now, me. I won't completely recover until I'm 25. I'm only 22."
She let a tear fall. "I DON'T CARE IF I CRY TOO MUCH! I HAD A HARD TIME MY WHOLE LIFE! EVER SINCE I LOST CHIZURU, IT WAS WORSE! MY ILLNESS WHERE I HAVE TO DRINK BLOOD AT LEAST ONCE A DAY MADE IT EVEN MORE TERRIFYING, BECAUSE IF I DON'T IT MAKES IT TERMINAL! I WANT TO LIVE MY LIFE WITHOUT SUFFERING! WHY DID IT HAPPEN?!" Hikari cried at the top of her lungs, tiring her out.
Seishin's eyes landed on the blood tablets Hikari poured into her water. "Okay, if keeping her here doesn't work, I'm guessing the only way to get out of Rido's reach is to move somewhere else," Tatsumi guessed. Hikari shook her head.
"No, Tatsumi, you are wrong. Rido can track me down until I turn 25. Moving somewhere else is temporarily going to work. How about we move somewhere far away from here so he can't? But wait, Japan Airlines is open to anybody, so he would still track me down. Okay, its our only option. How about it?"
Everybody nodded. "I guess it's decided then, lets move to somewhere you can recover," Seishin declared. Hikari raised a hand. "One more thing. Once I recover completely, I can land the final blow, but he still can't hurt you."
Christmas, Beijing China, 3 years after Sotoba Genocide
"Happy birthday, darling," Seishin congratulated to his wife. They had been married for 3 years now, living with Sunako and Tatsumi in a large house, making her new identity 'Hikari Muroi.' "I can finally kill Rido with my own two hands if I wanted to, I made it past that stage in my life," Hikari beamed.
Tatsumi and Sunako were watching TV as if it was a normal day. The news came on, making them angry somehow.
"Hello! I'm your favorite reporter, Jiang Wong, on a special case today. A japanese Serial killer going by the name Kuran Rido has entered China! More specifically, Beijing (mandarin) China. Apparently, he drinks the blood of his victims! Stay clear of him! He entered a grocery market and killed at least 5 people and injured 17!"
Tatsumi frowned. Sunako shed a tear. Hikari dropped her birthday present. Seishin had a surprised look on his face, as if his manuscript had scribbles all over it.
Hikari caught her birthday present before it hit the ground. "Hold up, Rido is now in China? Che Dan! Now I have to kill many Former Humans before it's too late!" She yelled, ripping her present open. A note? A rod? What is this?
Tatsumi turned around. "Oh, Hikari. what is it? It came in the mail today, it said it came from Yuki Kuran. Your mother sent you what?" He asked. Hikari read the note aloud.
"It says: Dear Hikari, I hope you are safe and sound in Beijing with Seishin, Sunako, and Tatsumi. I have decided to pass down the Artemis Rod to you in case of an emergency. You can kill Rido now, right? Your father and I miss your presence in the house under our care. Love, your mother, Yuki. Yup, thats all."
Sunako nodded. "I can see your mother is very concerned about you, Hikari." Hikari nodded in response. "Lets see what this does- ouch!" She cried. Touching the weapon once more, she removed it from the box and it returned to it's scythe form.
Tatsumi looked at the weapon in amazement. Seishin did the same. "I will use this weapon against Rido in order to protect us all. I don't want him to hurt any of you," She declared in front of everybody.
Sunako was confused. "I thought we were the ones protecting you, though," she said. Hikari shook her head. "This is the battle I have to fight, you may get involved if you please, but I am the one who is destined to kill him for good."
Seishin felt shock. "Kill… Rido? Now wouldn't it be murder?" Hikari shook her head. "It is my father's wish he is down and stays down. His wish is for my safety. I would kill him and feel no remorse for it. Remember, its an effort to protect you."
The blue haired, cat eared jinrou shot a smirk at the young pureblood. "If it's maximum protection you want, then I'll get some shiki together," he said. Hikari pouted. "Oh Tatsumi, don't smirk at me like that! Its not like your going to get that bitchy Shimizu in Mandarin China, huh?"
Tatsumi frowned at her. "Well, I admit, she is still alive after the tractors and stake incident, they hit her in the wrong spot, so I asked her to come to Beijing." Hikari was shocked. "Just of the sake of torturing her, sure, let her in."
