Chapter 14

Katherine looked through the book a few more pages then came across of drawing of her parents and sister. She ran her finger across her mothers drawing and said "it's a long story, Klaus and I. goes all the way back to England 1492, after I left Bulgaria. Or was thrown out. My family, your true ancestors, they disowned me. My indiscretions were not tolerated at that time. I had a baby out of wedlock, shame" she made a face then smiled. "They ripped my baby away from me, she was given away" Katherine looked down as she felt tears swell up. In 500 years she regretted one thing, not trying hard enough to fight for her daughter and it haunted her everyday since then. When she looked up she saw the three of them giving her a pitiful look "I was soon banished to England and I had to learn to adjust. It was there that I caught the eye of a Nobel named Klaus. I was taken with him a first...until I found out what he was and what he wanted from me. And then I ran like hell".

"So what did Klaus want?"

Katherine smirked and said "same thing he'll want from you. He wants to break the curse" Katherine noticed the look on all of their faces and laughed "you don't know anything about the curse do you?" she laughed again. "You have all these vampires yet you can't find one piece of information" she shook her head and said "Pathetic".

Alaric said "enough, Katherine. Just tell us".

"Fine" she looked at Elena "I don't know the full story but what I do know is that Klaus' mother had an affair and he was the cause of that. He is a bastard child. His real father was a werewolf. Klaus is part werewolf and part vampire. When his mother found out about him, she did something that cursed his werewolf side. His werewolf side is inactive and it's this curse that is preventing him from becoming the most powerful being on the planet. To break the curse he needs the moonstone, a vampire, a werewolf and a doppelganger to sacrifice...he wants to suck, every drop of blood from your body".

Elena casted a worried look towards Caroline and Alaric and she received them in return. Elena looked back at Katherine and said "how did you escape?"

"As I ran, it turns out a vampire called Trevor who worked for Klaus, fell in love with me. Of course I used it to my advantage. He distracted the search party while I ran for a small cottage near by. There I was met by a friend of Trevor's, called Rose. She invited me in but then when she noticed who I was she wanted to take me back to Klaus. While she was in another room, I stabbed myself but when she came back in she healed me with her blood. She walked back out of the room because Trevor had arrived. She was trying to convince him to take me back. While she was gone I put a noose around my neck and pushed myself off a chair".

Alaric and Caroline shot each other looks as they never expected Katherine Pierce to kill herself. Elena gasped and said "you killed yourself?"

"As a vampire I was no longer any use to him. I thought that I would be free to die but no. I didn't know that ingesting vampire blood is what turned you into a vampire. I just wanted to die. When I came back to life and I realised how I was changing, I took the opportunity".

"What happened to Rose and Trevor?"

Katherine shrugged and said "last I heard they were on the run from Klaus".

Elena said "so you don't even care that you ruined their lives".

"I never asked them to get involved, that was their own choice" Elena shook her head in disbelief.

She then said "can you tell us anything about the forgotten original?"

She laughed and said "surprisingly you are not the first people to call her that. Everyone is afraid of the original family, but imagine how afraid people are when they have heard of an original that no one ever remembers. I guess that name is a step up from Klaus' wife though".

All three of them were shocked "wait, she's Klaus' wife?"

Katherine smirked and said "I can't tell you anything about my new memories but I can tell you what I have found out or heard over the years". She started staring at Elena but slowly turned to Caroline "when she wants to be she is evil, manipulative, but she is always loyal to her family. She would never betray them and if someone hurt them then she would bring hell on us".

Alaric said "sounds like the type Klaus would go for".

"Why has she got no memory?" Elena said.

Katherine said "because Klaus is trying to protect her".

Elena narrowed her eyes and said "from what?"

"The ultimate hunter" she glanced around and could see none of then knew who he was "the destroyer" Alaric stiffened. Katherine smirked at him and said "at least one of you know who he is".

"Alaric, who is it?"

Alaric said "he is the destroyer of vampires everywhere. He was created around the same time that Klaus, his siblings and now wife turned and has been hunting them down for a 1000 years".

"What's so bad about him?"

Katherine scoffed and said "his one goal in eternity is to kill Klaus. Although that may sound fun, he will want to hurt him first. If he comes here then he will slit your neck in front of Klaus to show that his curse will never be broken, before he kills him. No one works with him because, after he has information from you, he kills you. No one is that desperate enough to go to him. Heck, even I wasn't. No one is stupid enough".

Elena's phone suddenly made a noise and she looked to see a text message from Stefan. She read it then said "Stefan wants us back at the house" she stood up along with Caroline and Alaric.

Katherine glanced up at her and said "do you wanna know the best part of my story?" they all glanced at her as they thought it was over "he killed them, my entire family, just to get back at me. Whatever you do to escape Klaus, he will get his vengeance. Your friends, your family and everyone you ever loved will be I danger. If I was you, I would have someone turn me now. Also, the forgotten original is closer than you think. Remember everything I have told you and look at the way the originals act, you will find out who she is".

"Is that some kind of riddle?"

She nodded and said "it's the best I've got, due to the compulsion".

Katherine glared at Caroline and Caroline said "seriously, what is your problem with me?"

"Why don't you go ask Klaus? Maybe he can tell you".

As Elena and everyone else walked out Katherine shot her a nervous look and Elena nodded towards her. Katherine then sat back on the floor staring at the picture of her family.

AN: Early chapter. I'm moving house this Saturday and my mum has only just decided to tell me that I will probably have no internet because it takes a while for it to get connected to the new house or something like that. I'm trying to update as much as possible this week so that you will have something to read and won't be mad if I don't update for like a month or something. Please review
