Harry had to run as fast as he could away from the warehouse. He didn't want to give the drug dealer any reason to remember the briefcase full of money any extra thoughts. He was thankful that the person in the driver's seat of the limo wasn't doing much turning from the abandoned building. He arrived back at the streetcorner and passed off the wallet's contents to the boys, before saying.

"You guys should be able to stay off the streets for a while with this." he then made his way into the building. He looked at the walls and decided it should be a different color. He walked into the largest room where the elder vampire had met him earlier. He drew himself to full height and waited. He looked around the room and decided it could use a lot of work.

"Tell me why have you come here." The soft silky voice asked with a noticeable inflection.

"I need to kill Voldemort." Harry said with a growl. "And your the only one who can train me to do that."

"I asked why YOU were here not why anybody else wanted you to be here." The voice said harshly. "If you don't have your own reason then there is no reason for you to even be here!"

Harry backed away from the elder. "What do you mean?! I have to kill Voldemort."

"That's not something you decided. I want to know why you. Harry Potter decided to train under me why you want to learn to be a master vampire." The elder said softly gliding towards Harry.

"Because I plan on surviving this war and to do that requires me to be able kill Voldemort." Harry said vehemently.

"Good now you are at least honest with yourself." The elder said with a feral grin. "For us to begin you need to first find the core of your magic. Wizards often say it is a large glowing orb. Personally mine is a large lake of blood in my father's lands in France."

"How do I find this?" Harry asked with a confused look. "I've never tried to do something like this."

The elder scowled, before saying. "What are they teaching wizards these days? It was once the common practice to find your core before you began learning magic at all."

"I don't know I just know that I never even heard of it." Harry said defensively.

The elder sighed. "No matter you will learn it now, and then on to the real training."

Harry shrank back from the elder's gleeful expression. He didn't know how or why, but he knew he was about to hurt a lot.

Harry parked the Vanquish in front of the Granger's household and made his way to the door. It was august the thirtieth. And he had decided to spend the night and the next night with Hermione. He walked to the front door and knocked softly. He stood waiting until the door was flung open and he was tackled to the ground. He offed as the wind was driven from his lungs. Harry looked up at the bushy brown halo. Then he grinned.

"Hello Hermione." he said happily.

"I'm glad that you showed up." Hermione said shy smile.

"No problem 'mione." Harry said with fanged grin. "I figured I would spend some time with you till you go back off to Hogwarts."

"Why did you have to bring up that you won't be going back with me?" she asked with a frown.

"Just being honest." Harry said with a somber expression. "I have some money that I want to offer your father to teach me about guns."

"Well I don't know about money but he's been thinking about it since you were here two weeks ago." Hermione said with a frown. "Why do you want to learn about guns? They're only good for killing people and destroying things."

"That's what I think is going to have to happen to Voldemort and anybody that follows them." Harry said with a frown. "Remember what happened to Ginny? Or the stone in first year?"

Hermione looked decidedly uncomfortable, but she nodded and gave him a sad smile. "I'm just worried about you Harry." She admitted with a soft voice.

"Well it won't matter my life in England is over Hermione." Harry said with a grimace. "I will be taking all my money and leaving for a less hostile place as soon as old moldy shorts is rotting in a ditch somewhere."

"Why do you have to do it? Why not somebody else?" Hermione asked with an angry growl. "Why does it have to be you that takes all the pain?"

"I have no idea 'mione. I just know that so far its always me." Harry said with a sigh of utter exhaustion. It was an odd sound coming from a thirteen year old. And he could see the hurt written all over the girls face. He didn't know what to say to make her feel better either. He was saved from making a decision when Dan walked into the hallway from the kitchen and asked if they were ok.

Harry turned to the man with a smile. He looked at Dan for a moment and then shook his head. "I just brought up that I wouldn't be getting back to Hogwarts anymore."

Dan gave Hermione a look of understanding. "Well let's leave that for another time and not think of such troubling topics tonight." He said with a semi-forced smile. "How bout you kids go and watch a movie?"

Hermione sniffed but grabbed Harry's hand and drug him into the living room and sit down on the couch. He looked at the television and saw that it was playing the opening credits to Indiana Jones and the temple of doom. Harry smiled at this and said. "You like indie huh?"

Hermione blushed and frowned and slapped Harry's arm only for him to give her a fanged grin. Harry felt Hermione snuggle into his arm. He looked down at her for a moment then turned back to the movie. By the time it was over Hermione was asleep and harry was carrying her to bed. He then left the Granger's residence and went out to the car. Inside the vanquish was a large coffee cup filled to the brim with steaming hot blood. It wasn't much but he planned on hunting tomorrow so it would hold him over till then. He turned back into the house and sat down in front of the TV. He decided on a movie from the Granger's collection. He put it in and smiled when the starting credits for star wars a new hope began to role.

By the time the sun started to come up he had retreated into the basement and lay down flat on the floor with his arms crossed over his chest. He smiled as the sun came up and he died for the day.

Harry looked at Hermione from the driver's side seat of the vanquish, with a bittersweet smile. He waved and pulled out of the driveway. Dan had taken half of he money and told him to keep the rest. Something he no intentions of doing. He planned on taking it to Gringotts and setting up an account for Hermione. He drove through the streets as fast as he could push the car, which was more than enough for every cop in England to be on his tail were it not for the notice me not charms and forgetting spells placed over every inch of it thanks to Sirius. He soon wound up in London, and parked at a garage in front of the Leaky Cauldron. He walked inside and pulled his hood up over his head. He was thankful that the trench coat had one. He walked through the bar without looking at anyone, and stopped at the walk entrance to Diagon Alley. He touched his finger to the appropriate bricks and pushed a bit of magic into them. He was glad to see that the trick had worked. He began walking determinedly towards Gringotts bank.

He walked up to the nearest open teller and set the briefcase half filled with hundred pound notes onto its desk. The goblin simply raised an eyebrow. Harry pulled the hood back long enough to reveal his face, which caused the goblin to gain a look of understanding.

"What can I do for you today Mr. potter?" The goblin asked civilly.

"I want to use this money to open an account for my friend. I want you to send her the key along with a letter that is to state that she is to use this money to buy any and all frivolous purchases and books she wishes and can in no way give this money back to her benefactor. Take any fees out of the Potter's main account." Harry said with an amused smile thinking of how Hermione would look when she received the invoice from Gringotts. He then frowned as he felt the sun close to rising. "And if you know of anyplace I can rest for the day and not be disturbed?"

The goblin grinned. He had seen Harry's marble white skin very clearly when Harry lowered his hood. "You might wish to spend the day going through your family Vault and claiming your lordship?" The goblin said with a sly smile. Harry looked at the goblin before giving a feral grin.

"An excellent suggestion if you could send someone after me twenty minutes after sunset."

"Of course my soon to be Lord Potter." the Goblin agreed with a smirk. And with that Harry was lead to the Potter family vault. He walked inside and flopped down on a couch just as the sun crested the horizon.

Hermione sat beside Ron in the great hall, which given that harry was absent meant that she was pretty much sitting by herself. Ron was being an atypical jerk to her still. The entire train ride he had acted like Malfoy of all people. So she was quickly coming to the point were their friendship looked like it would end soon. Across from her sat the twins and Lee Jordan. They were plotting their next prank. She looked at them and tried to keep from blushing. She had begun to go through puberty this summer and had been thinking about the twins and Harry increasingly. She now knew that she wouldn't ever be with Harry but the twins... that had possibilities. She didn't realize that she had spaced out while looking at them which caused them to take notice. George grinned at Fred and his twin grinned back. They leaned across the table to Hermione and asked.

"You like what you see Hermione?" In unison on either side of her face.

She eeped and shook her head backing away from them and blushing scarlet. They didn't get to pursue this line of questioning any further as a large tawny owl appeared before her with a letter bearing Gringotts personal seal. The twins looked at the seal with arched eyebrows. They backed up and sat back into the seats. They quickly leaned forward and pulled the letter gently from her hands as she stared blankly at it while slack-jawed. They read it before gaining blank looks and folding it up and handing it back to her. Then Fred pulled a ribbon out of his pocket and handed it to her.

"Hang the key around your neck-

-that way you won't loose it love." They said in twin speak. Hermione nodded dumbly before doing just that and putting the Letter into her pocket. Then she got up and left the great hall never even noticing Ron's cries demanding to know the contents of the letter.

Harry arose from his daily death trying to recall the newest of his macabre dreams but it was gone as surely as the sun. He looked around the Vault and spotted a raised dias. Sitting on the marble column was a single black jewelry box. He walked over to it and picked it up. He looked inside to see a small ring with a single blood red stone inlaid in a small silver and black band. He slipped it onto his finger and was a bit underwhelmed when there was no flash or noticeable magic. There was however, unknown to him, a magical notification to the house of lords that lord potter had been chosen. Harry left the Vault taking with him only an obsidian bladed ritual dagger that was sitting on the shelf beside the dias. He smiled at the goblin who opened the door. His smile grew even wider when he realized it was the same one he had spoken to the previous night.

"I trust my requests where completed efficiently?" Harry asked with a notably false haughty attitude.

The goblin gave a purely maniacal grin and said. "Of course, Lord Potter."

"Oh good then thank you." Harry said with a matching grin. He left the bank and went back to black manor to get ready to go with Sirius to get Peter Pettigrew.
