Chapter 14

No one POV

Hermione sat in the library poring over all the books trying to find a solution as to how and why she ended up in this world. She wondered if it was perhaps the past or the future.

'I thought I would find you here.' Hermione looked up from the book,

'Remus was there something you needed?'

'No, no, actually I was wondering if you had a chance to talk to Ginny. We all know what you are going through; each of us has lost our family and our home. Do not be mad at Ginny for something which she has no control over.'

'I am anything but mad.' Hermione snapped,

'What then?'

'It is nothing. Please I am trying to figure out how we ended up in this place.'

'Would you like some help?' Hermione shook her head,

'Nope,'

Hermione POV

I watched as Remus walked out and continued to read.

'Are you not hungry?' I jumped in fright,

'Forgive me for scaring you.'

'No, no, no it's fine I lost track of time. Food sounds good.' I smiled back at Aragorn as he held a hand for me to take. Taking his hand he led me to hall,

'I have been thinking, how would you like to take a small trip with me?' I had not even thought that there would be other places in this world. I knew there would have to be but it seems so unusual.

'I would like that, where would we go?' I asked,

'The place where I have been requested to go is called Hobbiton, I thought you would enjoy seeing a bit of our world.'

'I would, when would we leave?'

'The end of the week.' I smiled feeling truly excited for the first time since Harry and Ron were killed.

'Wait I should be 13 by the end of the week. This is not by any chance a birthday present.' Aragorn laughed,

'Aye you will have reached your 13th year, and nay it is not your gift for I am sure Lady Arwen would be angry if all I gave you were a trip away. There is a condition, you must speak with Ginny before we depart and assure her you are well.' There is always a catch and I should have known, I sighed not ready to face her.

'I can't face her Aragorn.' I whispered he turned around and kneeled in front of me,

'Why?' it was a simple question, there was a simple answer but it seemed my voice had temporarily disappeared. He was patient, his eyes searching mine for answers.

'I uhh.. I… I'm responsible for … her brother's death.' I choked out.

'You cannot blame yourself for the death of those in a war. Ginny does not blame you, she is worried.'

'It's hard to let the past go.' Tears stung my eyes, as I replayed Ron's death in my head.

'Hermione death is just another path one which we will all take. I do not doubt that your friends are watching over you right now and disagreeing with you.'

'It has been hard, really hard.'

'I know, but you are not alone. Come let us join Legolas and Ginny.' Suddenly I no longer felt hungry but I followed Aragorn.

As we entered, the men stood up when they noticed me. I cringed still not used to this. Fiery red hair could be seen easily amongst the elves. Aragorn grasped my shoulders and directed me in Ginny's direction. I could not meet her eye's, she had read my mind though,

'I do not blame you for anything that happened. I am grieving and I want my friend by my side again and I want my friend to let go of this guilt, it is crazy.' I knew that she wanted me to get over this guilt, I knew deep down I would not but for now I nodded my head, and embraced my friend.

It felt so good to talk to Ginny; it was the first time where I felt parts of my old life were coming back.

Aragorn and I had been travelling for a week. I enjoyed being out in the wild and I was excited about meeting new people and experiencing life once again.

'We shall rest here for the night,' Aragorn called out too me, 'Do not wander too far from camp.' I turned and smiled promising I would not be too far away.

I held the necklace which was given to me by Arwen and Aragorn in my fingers. It was a simple raindrop shape; I had not taken it off. I smiled up at the sky, I felt so connected with life out here in the wild I felt happy and free.

'Can I ask you something?' I asked walking back towards Aragorn

'You may,'

'Why did you bring me and not Arwen?'

'We both agreed that perhaps taking you away from elves and into the wild will benefit you. Give you some space without being constantly watched.' He answered simply

'It is odd, I feel so free, like I have left all my problems back at Rivendell. I cannot help but smile.'

'It is good to see your heat lighten and your face brighter,' he said smiling, 'now come and have some food and I shall tell you a tale.'
