Hey everyone! Guess who's 16 today?! ME! I got $75 in iTunes money and I bought all I wanted and still had $40 left and I'm so excited ugh! Now I get to do that thing that Lindsey hates me talking about!
Ooh! And guess who's birthday is today too?!
Disclaimer: I don't own Austin & Ally or anything else you may recognize.
Ally's POV
"Sshh." I say to Gavin as I begin to grab the doorknob.
Gavin smiles, adjusting the tray of pancakes and the glass of milk.
"You ready?" I ask in a whisper.
He nods excitedly.
"Alright. 3, 2, 1." I say as I open her door.
Gavin and I start to sing to our little baby girl. "Happy birthday to you."
Her eyes fly open as she sits up with this huge smile on her face.
"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, dear Avery! Happy birthday to you!"
"Make a wish, sweetie." I say, gesturing to the candles in the pancakes.
She closes her eyes and clasps her hands together, wishing for something really hard. I wonder what? She opens her eyes and blows out the three purple candles in one breath. Gavin and I clap as hard as we can. We always try to make her feel as special as possible on her birthday.
"What'd you wish for, princess?" Asks Gavin.
Avery shakes her head. "Bad luck!"
"Oh right! Of course!"
"What do you want to do today?" I ask as she takes an enormous bite of the pancakes.
She looks around her bedroom while chewing and gasps, picking up Nellie the elephant. "Zoo!"
"Then we're goin' to the zoo!" Gavin exclaims, throwing his hand up for me to highfive.
I roll my eyes, but do so anyway. "Woo!"
Austin's POV
"Are you sure you've got everything, Trish?" I ask in a panic. "This party needs to be perfect!"
She rolls her eyes as she unpacks the purple streamers. "I'm positive, Austin. Chill out!"
"Trish, you don't understand! This is my girlfriend's daughter's birthday party!"
"And?"
"And..." I hesitate, trying to find the correct words to say.
"Ugh." Dez huffs, jumping down from the counter. "And Austin thinks that if he screws this party up, he'll screw up his and Ally's relationship like he did the last time."
"Thanks, Dez..."
He turns around and puts his hand on my shoulder. "Anytime, buddy. Anytime."
"You don't really think that your whole future with Ally depends on this one party, do you?" Trish asks, unpacking the last box.
"Actually... Yeah, I do."
"Austin, Ally loves you for you! Nothing will ever change that!"
"I know. It's just..."
"Well, if it means that much to you, though," She smiles. "then I'll double check the supplies and guest lists."
"Thanks, Trish! I'll go call Ally and see what they're doing today."
Ally's POV
"Why is this so important?...Okay, yeah. Avery and I will swing by Sonic Boom later today...And Gavin?!...Okay, if you say so...Bye." I end the call. "That was weird."
"Who was that?" Gavin asks as he grabs his car keys.
"Austin. He wants all of us to come to Sonic Boom and have a jam session... Like I'm gonna believe that. He's up to something."
"I'm sure he just wants to spend time with Avery." Gavin cringes slightly at the thought.
"Maybe. But why would he invite you? No offence."
"Oh, none taken. I'm just as confused as you are."
"I guess we'll find out when we get there."
"Guess so."
"Avery, you ready?" I yell.
"Weady, mommy!" She yells back, stampeding down the stairs.
Gavin and I laugh. She's just so cute. "Alright, let's go get in the car!"
"YAAAAAY!" She screams as she runs out the door and into Gavin's truck. We follow her and then I buckle her up. Just as Gavin starts up the car, Avery gasps. "Wait! Where's Nellie?!"
Gavin unbuckles. "I'll get'er."
"Tank you, daddy!"
Austin's POV
"Okay," I say before naming off everything on the list. "300 purple, pink, and teal balloons."
"Check!" Dez bursts out, completely out of breath.
Trish and I laugh. "Dude, you know we had an air pump to blow up the balloons, right?" I point over beside the doors.
He pants and looks that way. "Aw, man!"
"6 packages of purple streamers."
Trish counts the bags. "Check."
"3 happy birthday banners."
"Check."
"5 bags of M&Ms."
Trish rummages through all the boxes. "I don't know where they are."
"Shoot! I knew this would happen!" I put the clipboard down and begin to look everywhere for them. "They have to be here somewhere!"
"Austin, calm down. I'll just go to SugarLand and buy some more."
"It's not just about the candy, Trish!"
"Then what is it about?"
Just as I open my mouth, I hear a crunch. Sounds like it's coming from behind the counter. I slowly move closer, making sure the crunching sound is still there and it's not just my imagination. I then jump over the counter. "Dez?!"
He laughs nervously, mouth full. "Heh. Check..."
I snatch the bag out of his hand. "You've already eaten most of the potato chips, all the regular Cokes, and the rainbow Goldfish that were supossed to go in a bowl with the others! Why'd you have to eat these too?!"
"I'm sorry, man, I'm a stress eater!"
Ally's POV
"Daddy, I tan't see da monteys."
"You wanna get on my shoulders?"
Avery nods with a big grin on her face. "Yes, pwease!"
Gavin picks Avery up and sets her on his shoulders. She loves Gavin. With all her heart. I'm really happy that he's moved back to Miami. Her life just wouldn't be the same without him. Mine too. Yeah, we're divorced and I'm with Austin now, but he was still my husband and he is still my daughter's father. Nothing will ever change that.
Avery starts to laugh at the monkeys and their funny noises. She absolutely adores animals. All of a sudden, her head turns and she gasps as she points. "Daddy! Nelliephants!" Elephants. I would correct her, but she's just so gosh darn cute. "Go, daddy, go!" She commands, patting his head.
"I'm goin', I'm goin'." Gavin says as he starts to walk that way.
I laugh and follow them.
When we get there, Avery oohs and ahhs at the elephants. They are her favorite animal, after all. Ever since Gavin gave her Nellie the first night she was in the world. 3 years ago tonight. Man... Time flies too fast.
"Mommy, mommy! Tate a piture!"
"Okay." I giggle as I get out my phone and slide up to get to the camera. "Smile!" Gavin holds a thumb up as Avery lays her head on his and cheeses as hard as she can. I tap the capture button a couple of times before I click to see the pictures. They're perfect.
"Let me see, let me see!" I show my daughter the photos. She grins. "I like em! Let's go see the kitties now!" Merecats. Again, I would correct her, but how much longer is she gonna be able to pull off the baby talk?
"Alright, c'mon."
Austin's POV
"I'm back!" Trish announces, walking in with about 7 shopping bags.
I rush over and help her. "Great! You got everything?"
"Yup! I got the potato chips, regualr and sour cream & onion."
"Nice."
"I got 3 six packs of Coke, a couple bags of the rainbow Goldfish, and a bag of M&Ms. Did Dez eat anything else while I was gone?"
I laugh. "No, thank goodness!" I then pull out a can of cream cheese icing and a bowl of easy mac. "Uh, Trish?"
She quickly grabs them out of my hand. "Those are for me! I'm pregnant, remember?"
"Right. So, Dez, you got the mic set up and everything?"
"Almost! Hey, why do you want a mic anyway?"
"I just do. It's for something special."
"What's this something special?" Trish asks. "I mean, you keep saying that this party needs to be perfect but you never say why."
"I have told you. It's Avery's birthday party!"
"Yeah, but that's not the real reason! What is it, Austin?"
I look at Trish, then Dez, then Trish again. "Fine. But you have to promise you won't say anything to anybody."

Ally, Gavin, and Avery spent another hour and a half at the zoo. Avery took her parents all over the place. They saw zebras, giraffs, pandas, and some penguins. Avery enjoyed all of it. She even asked Gavin to put her down just so she could imitate the penguins. Ally tresured these moments. She knew they wouldn't last forever.
During some point on the trip, Avery had gotten a hold of Ally's phone and took so many pictures of the sky, her face, and her parents. Ally loved all of the 175 photos.
Once all of Sonic Boom was decorated just perfectly for Austin's liking, he called Ally and told her to come on over. He was so excited for this party. It would definitely be special.
Ally's POV
"That's weird." I say as I walk up to the door.
Gavin and Avery join me a couple seconds later. "What is?"
"Sonic Boom is dark."
"Maybe Austin forgot to turn on the lights and is up in the practice room."
"Maybe." I open the door and walk in slowly. "Austin? Hel-"
"SURPRISE!" Everyone yells as the lights flip on. "Happy birthday, Avery!"
"A berfday party for me?!" Avery asks just as shocked and happy as could be.
"Just for you." Austin says, picking her up.
Avery hugs his neck. "Tank you, Ausin!"
Austin hugs her back, smiling. "You're welcome, Avery."
She gasps. "Granma, Granpa!" Austin puts her down and she runs to my parents. I can't believe mom came! She was in Uganda researching for another book.
I look around Sonic Boom. "Wow, Austin, this place looks amazing!"
"I was hoping you would say that." He smiles and kisses me. Not gonna lie. I felt a little awkward about it. I mean, Gavin was standing right there. I just don't want to rub this in his face.
No One's POV
Avery went all around the store, saying hi and talking to everyone. She even got to see Hayden for the first time. She loves babies almost as much as she loves elephants.
After over-eating on the M&Ms, chips, Goldfish, and cake, Avery finally got to open all her gifts.
She first opened Dez and Trish's gifts. Trish got her an adorable purple sun dress and an elephant print headband. Avery absolutely adored them. Dez had gotten her a teddy bear almost as big as she was, which made her love it even more.
Gavin's parents bought Avery a Little People kitchen. It came with many combinations of plastic food, a microwave and stove that lit up and made noise, some utensils, and a tiny apron to wrap it all up. Ally was especially excited about this one. She knew how much Avery enjoyed "helping" her cook, but she always got in the way. Now she'll be able to cook while Avery cooks as well!
Carrie doesn't know Avery that well. In fact, the only reason she showed up was to spend some time with Dez. But, since she used to baby sit little girls all the time, she knew exactly what to get. A baby doll. Not just any ordinary baby doll, but a Baby-So-Real. The brand is discontinued now, so they're very rare to find. The doll has dark red hair, brown eyes, and the most adorable nose. Avery loved her.
Lester gave her a purple bike and told her he'll teach her how to ride one day. Penny went and got Avery the most talked about doll house of the year. It has three floors and includes all the furniture. Not to mention that it's battery operated, so the whole house can make all different sorts of sounds and flashy lights. Avery was so excited!
Austin gave her his present last. He handed Avery a blue velvet box and told her to open it. Inside was a silver heart locket with "Avery" engraved on the bottom. Her eyes shined with happiness.
"It's so pwetty!"
He took it out of the box and draped it around her neck. "Happy birthday, Avery."
She smiled and hugged him as hard as she could. "I wuv you, Ausin." She whispered in his ear.
Austin's POV
I grin. She's so precious. "I have another surprise for you." I tell her.
She lights up like a christmas tree. "Really?!"
I nod and run up to the mic. "Hey, everybody. Glad you could make it! Now, I know that today is Avery's 3rd birthday, and I don't want to steal her thunder. But I can't think of a more perfect time than right now..."
Ally's POV
What is he doing?!
"Ally, could come here?"
I gulp as I slowly walk towards Austin.
He takes my hands. "Ally, I love you."
I smile. "I love you, too, Austin."
"I love Avery."
"I know you do."
"I love you both with all my heart." He bends down on one knee. Oh man... "Ally," He pulls out a small box from his pocket and opens it. "will you marry me?"
I hesitate. "Austin, we just got back together and-"
"-I know that! But, Als... Its you. It's always been you. I've known since the first day I met you."
"I-I don't know, Austin."
All of a sudden, a little hand reaches for mine. Avery gesture for me to bend down. "Mommy, say yes." She whispers, but loud enough to where everyone can hear.
"Sweetie, it's not that simple."
"Why?"
"Yeah, why?"
I get back up. "You know why, Austin."
"At least think about it? C'mon, Als."
I pause for a slight moment, realizing how stupid I'm being. Then a smile grows on my face. "Austin?"
"Yeah?"
"I will marry you."
Ausitn and I kiss. Everyone cheers, but it's mostly Trish, Dez, and Avery.
Whew! Longest chapter I've written in a while! I'm happy about that. Lindsey, what did you think? -Alaina
BRB DYING OF FEELS. That's all I have to say. -Lindsey
