Chapter 14
Prisoner in the Woodland Realms

Everything was a blur. I remember yelling, Thorin calling my name, and Legolas's voice. I woke up in the healer quarters of the Woodland realm. I turned my head.

"Rina." A familiar voice came.

"Tauriel. Where are my friends?" I ask.

"They are in the dungeons. Thorin just got done talking to the King. It didn't go well." Tauriel said, helping me sit up. Sickness came through me and she quickly handed me a bucket and I threw up in it.

"What's wrong with me?" I ask.

"The spider's venom is still in you. You were in Thorin's arms when we found you. We were able to help to help. You'll feel sick for a while. The King wants to see you as soon as your awake." Tauriel said.

"Even when I'm sick." I said, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes. Then I'll take you to Thorin's cell where you will stay." Tauriel said. When I was here visiting and training, Tauriel and I became good friends. I got out of bed, still feeling weak.

"Let's get this over with so I can be with the man I love and my friends." I said. Tauriel led me towards the throne room where Thanduil sat on top of his throne. Tauriel stood near me.

"I see you treat all your guests the same. I'm still weak and you want to see me as soon as I awaken." I said.

"Still got the lip on you I see." Thaunduil said.

"And still holding a grudge that I'm betrothed to a dwarf and not your son." I said. Thaunduil stood up and came down to me. I stood with my head high. I could still feel the bile rising from my stomach, but I swallowed it down.

"I want a favor from you." Thaunduil said.

"If its anything against Thorin and my friends then the answer is no." I said.

"I want those jewels that are bright as starlight." Thanduil said. I knew the jewels that he wanted. He claimed that the dwarves stole them from the elves, which I wasn't sure was true or not, but I wasn't going to turn against Thorin.

"The answer is no. If the dwarves won't let you have them, then you're not going to get them and you're not going to use me to get them. I won't turn on the man I love and the people who I will one day become queen to." I said. Tauriel gave me a smile. I spoke like a true princess and I knew grandmother would be proud.

"Then you will rot with your king and your friends. Take her to the cells." Thaunduil said. Tauriel took my arm and led me towards the dungeons. The dwarves ran to the cell doors.

"Lass. Are you alright?" Balin asked.

"I'm fine. Still feel sick from the poison." I said.

"I hope he didn't lay a hand on you lassie. We've all been worried. Its been a few days since we last saw you." Dwalin said.

"He didn't." I said. I was led towards where Thorin stood waiting and Tauriel opened the cell door. I stumble in and right into Thorin's waiting arms. Tauriel closes the doors.

"Your safe now, Rina." Thorin mumbled, burying his face into my hair. I clutched the front of his tunic as he lifted me up and into his arms. He slid down the wall with me still secured.

"Thaunduil wanted the jewels of starlight. He wanted me to turn against you and get them." I said.

"Did you say you would?" Thorin asked.

"I refused. I will not turn on you." I said. Thorin took my face in his hands.

"I chose a good woman to be my queen. You never turned on me along with your family when Erebor fell. They stood with you on staying with me and they want us happy. I love you, Rina. You scared me when you wouldn't wake up. I'm glad your alive and well." Thorin said.

"I never will." I said. Thorin captured my lips and we kissed.

"Get some rest, love. You need it." Thorin said, pressing a kiss to my temple. I cuddle close to him and fell asleep in his arms. I hoped we will escape soon. I wanted nothing more than be out of Mirkwood. I hated this place.
