CHAPTER 14. THE LOVE TONIGHT
Simba watched Timon walk away and exhaled in relief. He turned around to see Nala leaning against the tree trunk, wiping a tear from her eye. "What's the matter?" Simba asked. "It's like you're back from the dead. You don't know how much this is going to mean to everyone... or what it means to me." She whispered. "Hey, it's okay. I'm here and alive." He offered a hand to her, she took it and Simba lead her to the garden hose. Nala washed the camouflage paint off her face and spoke. "I've really missed you..." She mumbled, she then stood up on her toes and gave him a little peck on the cheek.
Nala didn't know that Timon was watching them through the window, and he leapt back in disgust at her last action. Sniper to lover in ten minutes, that's really something. He thought angrily. He had known Simba too long and had had far too many good times to let this bitch ruin it for them now. Pumbaa walked up next to him. "What's going on out there?" He asked. "Well I can see what's happening." Timon said. "What?" Pumbaa looked at him worried. "And they don't have a clue." Pumbaa got where he was going. "They'll fall in love and here's the bottom line, just consider our trio down to two." He told him. "Oh, well who knows...maybe they're just friends after all." Pumbaa tried to reassure him. "You don't give up do you Pumbaa, look at them, look at the sunset…him, her... alone." Timon put his head in his hands. "What's wrong with that?" Pumbaa lifted an eyebrow. Maria walked into the room and joined them at the window. "What are you two looking at? Oh... e l'amore'" Maria said. "Thank you we figured that." Timon said angrily. "I'm telling you buddy, his days with us are over, with all this romantic atmosphere... disaster's in the air." Timon warned him.
Nala slipped out of her ghillie suit to reveal a slim, beautiful body. Simba looked her over as she removed the last of her battle fatigues, Wow, she's beautiful. He thought. "Got any drinks or something?" She asked. "Yeah, just over here." Simba lead her to the backyard and Timon's outdoor fridge near the pool. "You drink beer?" He offered her a bottle. "Yeah, thanks." She took the bottle and gulped the drink down. Simba sipped his slowly and watched her every action. He then glanced at the pool; the water was as flat as could be. Simba put the drink down and charged towards the water, doing a backflip as he reached the edge. He crashed into the water and stayed under. Nala rushed over to the edge and peered down into the water. Suddenly Simba's mighty hands emerged from the water and dragged her in too. As soon as Nala went under the water she jumped straight out, shivering and looking at all her wet clothes. Simba soon climbed out too, smiling at her stupidly. Nala looked at him with the same Really Simba? glance she would give him all those years ago. She shoved him back into the water playfully.
A few minutes later, they climbed out of the pool and dried off. Simba lead her to the spot on the jungle's edge where he would always think about her, and his old life. They started down a hill but Simba tripped, sending the both of them rolling down it. They eventually stopped at the bottom of the hill, with Simba lying flat on top of Nala. They giggled for a few moments before Nala stopped laughing and looked him in the eyes. Simba stared back, silent. She then closed her eyes, pulled his chin down towards her gently and kissed him. Not a little peck on the cheek like before, but a full kiss on the lips. She had finally realized how she really felt about Simba, and was sure he felt the same. Simba opened his eyes and looked at her again. She continued to look into his eyes, as if nothing else in the world mattered. Simba could almost feel her sapphire blue eyes cutting though him like a blade. He pulled himself to his feet and offered a hand to her, she took the hand and pulled herself up to stand in front of him, her eyes glued to Simba.
Simba put his hands on her cheeks and pulled her close. He closed his eyes and kissed her full on the lips, she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed back. They passionately locked lips for a few moments before Nala finally pulled away. "So...you never showed me to your room." She whispered to him seductively. Simba got where she was going. "Oh...well okay then!" He said and picked her up; he then started making his way towards the house. He looked back over the valley as he carried her, the sun had almost finished setting, and the sky had turned a beautiful bright orange color. He then looked his surroundings, all quiet. The world was for once, in perfect harmony for him.
Timon sat behind the TV watching some soccer, he had been hoping that nothing had happened between Simba and Nala, and was trying to forget about it by watching the game. He heard Simba trudge through the front door, Timon turned to see Simba hurrying upstairs with Nala in his arms, giggling. So now you're just going to forget about all we've been through and do it with the person who tried to kill you not too long ago. That's cool. Timon thought miserably.
"So what happened?" Pumbaa asked after they had left. "Well he's felt the love tonight so you can assume..." Timon started but Pumbaa cut him off: "That his care free days with us are history?" Timon nodded sadly. So our pal and adopted son is just going to leave us like that. He's doomed. Timon fought back tears and collapsed back into his chair. He knew Simba was going to leave him now; there was no denying that. He might even end up in the middle of that war and get himself killed.
Upstairs
Simba kicked the door to his room open and put Nala down. Nala ushered him towards his bed took off her jacket. Simba sat down on his bed and kissed her again. He felt a growing gravity between them, and a sudden lust for Nala took over him. She pushed him flat onto the bed and slowly began to remove his shirt and pants. Nothing else mattered to them now, not the war, Scar, Mufasa's death or Nala's mission. Just each other.
