(A/N)

Okay. So this is weird and random and has absolutely nothing to do with anything else in the story but I think the Cullens needed a break from the ghost world. The real world isn't making it any easier for them but...

EPOV

It'd been 4 days since we'd last talked to our ghost counterparts.

We'd gone back to school, tried to keep a normal routine, though none of us were really paying any attention to anything that our teachers said. We were all too preoccupied.

Edward, I heard Alice call. She was in the classroom next to mine and had been looking into the future. Edward.

I wished that this communication could go back and forth rather than just one way. I shifted anxiously. what was wrong? I nodded my head slightly, hoping that she'd see that I'd made a conscious decision to do so.

She let a vision play out in her head.

I growled. As if we needed the trouble.

Four boys -the school's star football player, Brad, and his friends- were going to try to corner Bella after class.

I hastily scoured the school, looking for the four boys.

Edward, I heard Alice's warning voice. Be calm. You know she'll be fine.

She would be fine. She was a vampire. She was much stronger than the humans that surrounded us on a day to day basis. The idea, though, that she was being thought of in such a manner, infuriated me beyond belief. I crossed my arms across my chest and clenched my fit tightly, trying to calm down.

I would just tell her and we could avoid conflict.

They'll try again, Alice told me, seeing the shift in the future. I bit back an irritated groan.

Then Emmett, Jasper, and I would take care of it.

Bella will be mad at you, Alice warned. I huffed in annoyance now. What did she want me to do? Let Bella handle it herself? She was more than capable but how would we explain a 5'4", 115 pound girl beating up 4 large boys?

I looked up at the teacher, who had his back to the students. I quickly whipped out my phone and texted Bella.

Four boys are going to surround you after school. Want help?

A reply came not thirty seconds after I'd sent it.

No. I've got this covered. Trust me.

Bella…. I typed in warning. I love Bella dearly but she had a penchant for getting herself into troublesome situations.

Relax. I'll be fine, Bella texted back.

You know what it would look like if you beat them up.

I won't. I'll be fine, she wrote again.

I hoped she would be.

! #$%^&*()~! #$%^&*()

I was watching carefully.

The bell had just rung and there were students crowding the hallways. I scoured the minds of the students, trying to find the kids that were going to try to corner Bella.

There she is, one of the boys thought, spotting her outside her classroom. Her eyes scanned by him briefly. To a human, it looked as if she had just been looking around. I could tell that she was trying to see if he was there or not.

Satisfied, Bella walked away towards our car, which was parked in a more secluded area of the parking lot.

Excellent, the boy thought, gathering his group friends. I growled lightly, hearing their thoughts.

"Relax Edward," Emmett said. I nearly jumped. I hadn't even noticed that Jasper and Emmett had walked up next to me.

Emmet smirked. Gotcha, didn't I? "They'll be fine."

"They'll?" I asked.

"Bella got Rose and Alice to help," Jasper explained in a murmur, his lips barely moving. No one else would even suspect that we were talking. I searched for Alice's thoughts and found them almost immediately. She and Rosalie were headed into the forested area near the parking lot, making sure no one saw them run into the woods.

Emmett and Jasper started walking towards the car and I quickly began following them, trailing a bit behind. we were moving at a slower pace. I watched, seething, through the eyes of the boy who was no better than the monsters I had hunted 8 decades ago.

Bella was completely alone in the far back of the fairly large parking lot, getting something out of the parking lot. Alice and Rosalie were in the tree line, close enough that they could see her. Brad -I felt annoyed at giving him a name. He was,in my eyes, almost undeserving of it- looked at his friends who were perfectly happy to follow him in his twisted plan. I growled as they approached her, looking around to see if there was anyone looking. There wasn't. Emmett turned back to look at me. We walked into the trees, still quiet far from the car, far enough that they couldn't see or hear us.

They approached her and as they did Bella let down her shield, letting me see her thoughts.

I nearly launched myself towards the car when the boy -I'd decided that he wasn't deserving of a title- touched Bella's hip. I would have if Emmett and jasper hadn't been holding me by the arms from the moment we'd set foot into the cover of the trees.

Bella turned her head sharply, with a fierce look in her eyes. She put on a coy smile, which the boy mistook.

"Brad, right?" Bella asked, making her voice sound more alluring. The boy's thoughts were pooling over with lust and I wanted to throw him against a tree. He nodded and Bella smiled. "Do me a favor and don't touch me again," she demanded, her voice threatening.

The boy found this amusing. "You know you liked it," he responded. Jasper and Emmett were both holding me back using their full strength. They were equally as furious as I was about the boys behavior towards Bella. They were just more controlled than I was.

"Actually," Bella responded, eye narrowing. I heard the fury in her mind as well, "I didn't and I need you to take three large steps away from me."

"Or what?" the boy scoffed.

"Or we might help," Alice said as she and Rose stepped out of the treelike. Rose was ready to rip the boy's head off.

"Leave," Rose snarled through gritted teeth," and don't even think about bothering her again."

The boy was shaken. He was also incredibly stupid and misogynistic.

"What are you going to do about it? You're a girl?"

Rose raised an eyebrow before grabbing his arm. His fiends stood, petrified, as the boy fell over in agony, clutching his arm.

Bella bent down and looked at the boy. He looked at her.

God, she's scarier than the blonde, he thought.

"You are a misogynistic asshole," Bella informed him. "And that was not -in any way, shape, or form- an acceptable way of approaching a person. Next time you want something, try asking. Politely." She stood. "Do anything like this again, it's not just your arm that's going to be hurting."

We were all gathered around the dining table, waiting for Carlisle to get home, which Alice predicted was in a about two minutes. There were contingency plans to be made, since Rose had used a good amount of force when grabbing the boy's arm. I was fairly certain she had fractured his arm a bit.

Alice has assured us that the boy wouldn't say anything about Rose's strength. However, it was better to prepare for the worst.

Bella was sitting in my lap at my request. I ran my hand up and down her back.

You okay? she thought to me.

Was I? Not really. Are you?

Yes. She really was okay. Not even shaken. Granted, she hadn't ever really been in danger. Should we inform our ghosts about this?

We probably should. They would find out anyway and it wasn't really something to hide.

"Yeah," I responded out loud.

"Stop that!" Emmett said, annoyed. Bella and I chuckled. He hated when we had private conversations.

"Relax, Emmett," Bella said. "We were just discussing whether or not we should inform our ghosts about what happened today."

"How do you know they don't know already?" Emmett asked.

Yes, how do you know we don't know already?

Bella and I jumped simultaneously at the sudden appearance of her ghost.

"They know," I muttered. Emmett chuckled.

"I think your ghosts bother you more than ours do, man," Emmett said. I agreed. Bella and I weren't the most patient beings that existed.

Were you there the whole time? Bella asked.

Yes. The fact that you even considering not telling me is offensive. I'm you, remember. Now not telling Edward on the other hand.

"Hey!" We heard my ghost say. Bella leaned her head against my shoulder with a sigh and I rested my head onto of hers.

I have as much of a right to know as you do, my ghost complained mentally.

Yes, Bella's ghost agreed mentally, But you have a bit of a tendency to overreact.

My ghost conceded, nodding his head.

So why was it that you were listening in today? I asked.

We think, my ghost said, it might be time to talk to the Volturi.

Yeah so, I suck and that was random? I don't know, it fit in my head before I wrote it. The Volturi are coming back next time.
