Hi guys, the next chapter is up. Updates are going to be slower because my laptop is broke and I can only use my granddadsL. Luckily it's not all doom and gloom, I have finally figured out where the storyline is going so there should be no more writers block. Clary's Pov
I was laying on my bed doodling trying to clear my head; my notepad page was filled with swirls, runes and squiggles. Really I should be helping the gang they probably think I am going crazy, spending all my time locked up in my room. I go into the living room/kitchen but instead of the room being crowded like normal there's only Maria. She's sat on her laptop reading some text. I reach down into the mini fridge to get a bottle of water which is hid behind some cartons of milk, jam, eggs and other food. "Where is everyone?" Maria just shrugged and pointed to the door. I nod "What are you readi-" That's when I catch onto his scent, Jace is near! I run out the door the mini fridge wide open. Maria is right behind me following me. I quickly change my form to look like the old Clary so I don't freak Jace out before I get outside and there's Jace surrounded by Michael, Danny, Samuel and Seb.
"What is going on?" No one looks up at first then eventually Michael answers. "Nothing Clary, we are doing just a little bit of pest control." His eyes never leaving Jace. I sigh and move in between Jace and the others. "Guys, go back inside and let me deal with Jace." They go and stand near the flat entrance but none of them go inside. They all just stand their leaning against the wall watching Jace's and my every step. I turn around ignoring them concentrating on Jace. I had to get him to stay away from here, to stay away from me.
"Jace what are you doing here?" Jace just looked even angrier by my question. Getting him to leave might be easier than I thought.
"What am I doing here? Clary what are you doing here? I thought you were dead." He moved closer to me but I just took another step back.
"Well I'm not Jace so if that's all you came for then you can leave now." I hated being so mean to him but it's the only way to keep him safe.
"Clary I came for you! Come back to the institute with me, we can talk!" He was almost pleading. My heart ached when I saw his eyes begging me to go with him. I kept my voice firm trying my hardest not to let Jace see through my act.
"No Jace! I belong here and you belong at the institute. I'm no longer part of your world just pretend that you never saw me okay!"
"Clary you are my world, I could never forget about you! It's killed me all this time thinking you where gone. That I was alone!" I took a deep breath in trying to control my feelings. I have to stay strong for Jace's safety. I have to break his heart so he will let me go.
"Jace I don't want to be in your world anymore! You're a shadow hunter and I'm half demon, we can't be together despite what we feel. I have to think about others now and a safe live for them and me means a life without you. Anyway it's not like your ever alone you have the Alec and Izzy."
He moved towards me and put his hand on my shoulder and stared directly into my eyes. "Look me in the eyes and tell me you don't want to be with me." This is it time to breaks Jace! I turn back to my natural form so my speckled eyes are staring into his. My voice is hard, cold and firm;
"I'm sorry to disappoint you angel boy but I don't want to be with you or anywhere near you! Don't worry as soon as I am done with this mission I will leave. Just do me a favor and keep my secret to yourself. We wouldn't want the cCave to kill me again now would we?"
He looks like someone has stabbed him in the heart. "I don't believe you Clary!" I want to just hold him close and tell him I'm sorry but I can't break down not now!
"Goodbye Jace!" I go to move but his hand is still tightly gripped onto my shoulder. I tear Jace's hand off me and just use my over arm to signal the others for help. The immediately move forward and Jace looks torn like he doesn't know what to do. He let's go of me and just stands their staring at me. I turn around not daring to see the look of hurt on his face again. I walk inside and grab a text book of the shelf and read. Ignoring everyone else around me!
That's it and I know you will all now want to kill me for breaking Jace's heart but I just felt it was what Clary would do. Don't worry that won't be the end of Jace and Clary. Remember to leave me reviews with your thoughts and ideas. Till the next time!
