Chapter 14: I got an Idea

Sakura was checking up on Kakashi who was put asleep with the use of a powerful jutsu. His reading began to show high levels of chakra but she just brushed it off with Naruto and Sasuke training inside his eye. The night has been very uneventful with half of the village evacuated because of the attacks due to happen any moment. She shut the door behind her and nodded to the ANBU in front of the door. She passed by the receptionist area to pick up a report on a villager who had been severely burned. She saw an unfamiliar nurse at the desk looking through some papers.

"Hi.. umm do I know you?" spoke the pinkette doctor to the with aqua hair on the desk.

The girl squealed in surprise," Ohh sorry… Lady Uchiha I was reading the reports on the victim I didn't see you earlier."

"Are you new here?" asked Sakura never noticing her in the village she would have noticed that hair anywhere.

"Yes I am I came from the Hidden Mist as an exchange program. I am sorry I couldn't introduce myself earlier when I arrived here, Naruto made his return to the village. Ahh isn't he dreamy…" she sighed with heart in her eyes, "Anyways my name is Serena Nami. I hope to learn a lot from you Doctor."

Sakura smiled and nodded, "Pleasure is all mine Serena. Do you know what happen to the victim?"

"Hai. As I was told by officials that he was attempting to rescue a young girl from a burning building. He managed to save the girl but as he went inside to check for other survivors, the building collapsed. It's a miracle he is even alive."

"Okay I'm going to check on him, do you want to come?" Sakura asked her with a smile.

"Are you sure Lady Uchiha? I don't want to leave the receptionist area by itself."

"Sure it's fine. It is very late I doubt anyone is going to come in right now. With half the village gone."

They both began walking to the room of the patient with an awkward silence.

Sakura began to fill a chill coming from her but paid no attention to it. The hospital gets unusually cold when it's empty at night that some of the patients would complain about their rooms being too cold. When they reached the room, the new nurse offered to open the door with small smile.

Sakura returned the smile and went through the door but as soon as she did, she felt a small pinch in the back of her neck. The pinkette lost her balance and stumbled forward. Her body began to feel numb as she tried to move her arms and legs but nothing happened.

Her consciousness started slipping away from her as darkness engulfed her in to a numbing sleep.

Green eyes blinked adjusting the vision of her pupils. She saw grass beneath her and looked up her head. Sakura was in the arena where the chunnin exams take place. As she saw around her the rest of her friends were there.

Kiba was at the very end to her right. Next to him was Ino followed by Chouji and Hinata. Then it was Tenten, Shikamaru, and Rock Lee. She was next to the taijutsu master followed by Sai who she was surprised to see there. Konohamaru was after the ANBU at the end of the line. All of their arms were tied behind their backs.

"Glad to see you are all up." A voice startled them, "we are almost done too. Ryuga should be getting everyone here."

As in cue people started coming thru the doors all with a blank stare. One by one they began to fill the stands. Most of them were shinobi including their senseis like Kurenai, Obito, Anko, and Tsunade. Suddenly an ice like mechanism began forming around their necks. Their faces came to life and they began to wonder what was going.

"Thank you Tenshi," spoke their Leader.

"Let gets started Kaito," spoke Ryuga.

"Yes lets get started! My name is Kaito. I am the leader of the group that attacked the village a couple of years ago that resulted in many deaths. We are the reason why your village is free of civilians. As you all saw in the video I sent the Hokage and I know you all doubt I have dragons. Yes it is true. I do have two of the most powerful dragons of our history. They're purpose is insurance. All I am looking for is for Sasuke Uchiha."

A shriek came from the stand getting the attention of Sakura, "What did you do?"

"Those ice contraption around your neck is a deathtrap. If one of you moves or tries to escape it will send a fatal needle to your spinal cord killing you in an instant. You can thank Tenshi for that beautiful idea. Now where was I?"

"You bastard you know we won't sell out a comarade," spoke Shikamaru.

"Oh I've heard the tales of how Leaf Village refused to sellout Naruto-sensei out to Pein."

Mutters began to start in the stands as confusion arose. "Yes the Leaf's Hero is our Sensei. He thought us in the ninja arts. He is in fact the result of why this is happening. Tell me how many of you people seek to be accepted by the person you admire the most. You Rock Lee how much did you cry once you knew Might Guy or even Neji accepted you as a shinobi?"

Lee stared at him angrily with angry tears forming in his round eyes.

"How about you Hinata. We all know how your father preferred your younger sister over you to take over the Hyuga Clan. Or you Miss Yamanaka didn't you want to prove to Sakura you were just as strong as she is? Even the Hokage's wife wanted to be accepted by her teammates. She used to think she was just an annoying pain in the back until she proved them wrong."

All of them looked away from Kaito who began to chuckle.

"That need to be accepted could drive you to do horrible things. Just ask the Hokage, who fed of anger trying to prove Itachi Uchiha wrong. He wanted to be accepted and acknowledged by his own brother that he deserted the village and tried to kill the Kages in their meetings."

"Get to the point you asshole!" yelled Kiba.

Kaito looked at Ryuga who threw a molten kunai to Kiba's Leg. His agonizing scream echoed in the arena. The rest of the shinobi looked at their injured friend.

"Another outbust like that will get you killed."

"Now before I was rudely interrupted, we all know how Naruto grew up. Some of you don't want acknowledge his past, which is fine. My friends and I do believe it. We were orphans of war. We know how hard it is to be accepted in a village that doesn't want you. My brothers and my sister travelled around until Naruto-sensei found us. He accepted us. He gave us HOPE. He watch us grew from troublemakers to elite shinobi. When we found out he was looking for an heir. Our hearts bounced in our bodies this was a moment we were waiting. It didn't matter who would get it as long as it was one of us. Then he rejected us. He left us because he said he had no more to teach us. Our hearts were broken and sanity began to leave us slowly."

"Naruto-kun wouldn't just reject you like that. He had a reason." Spoke Ino

Kaito approached the Platinum blond and crouched to her eye level, "I have heard so much about you. You must be Naruto-sensei's squeeze. I know he's here in the village with Sasuke so why don't you save your friends and tell me where he is."

Ino's stare stayed strong before Kaito sighed and got up to rejoin his two friends, "My other brother has the dragons ready for an attack. Serena why don't you bring my favorite toy."

Sakura's head popped up when she heard that name, "Serena I thought…."

"I am part of the five who attacked last time as well Sakura-chan," she approached with a bat covered in barbwire.

"Thank you sweety." He swung the bat back and forwards, "As I told blondie right here if one of you tells me where Sasuke is no one dies."

Silence greeted Kaito who only smirked, "Well that was your last chance. Now who has the pleasure to kiss my bat. I feel like a little kid in a candy store."

Kaito walked past each one of them enjoying himself as he saw the fear in their eyes. "I got an Idea. Lets play a game."

Kaito got in front of Sai pointing his bat. "Eenie..."

Sakura was next…"Meeny…"

"Miney…" Lee stared at the bat before it left his eye view , "mo…" Shikamaru was next in line as the rhyme started speeding up.

Tenten received the next part, "Catch."

"A tiger…" HInata with tears in her eyes.

"by…" Chouji and Ino "It's toe.."

"If it howlers…" Kiba Growled before the bat was moved away and went to the Hinata, "Let him go…"

Sakura closed her eyes as the nursery rhyme reached it end.

"My mother…..told me…to… pick… the… very best… for…last… and… you… are… it."

Sakura heard Kaito speak, "If anyone moves or screams cut their tongue out and feed it to the person in the right of them. Except you. You can scream, you can yell, hell you can even cry."

Then came horrendous sound of a skull breaking, "Look at that! Taking like a true ninja!" yelled Kaito.

Sakura whimpered as she kept hearing the sound of another thud followed by another thud before it sounded like mush being struck by a blunt object.
