'Flashbacks of the life Klaus and Caroline shared'

Counting time is easier than spending it
They say that when you die your whole life flashes before your eyes; in this case their life flashed in a sequence with every beat of a heart
She remembers the first time they met, it was another cold day and she had just got fired from her job, her good for nothing boyfriend had been sleeping with her best friend and her dad was in the hospital getting chemo and radiation. Life just didn't seem good; she had a crappy job, Crappy friends, Crappy boyfriend and a really crappy life.
Sometimes she wants to give up, sometimes she just wishes to let the darkness elope her and be free for once bust instead she was constricted in this world of pain and denial. She had to stay strong because everyone else around her just seemed to be falling apart. She was always the good girl, her bright smile and blue eyes would always reflect some hope but as time passed the light slowly started to flicker away.
She would just pretend, she would be happy when she was with her dad but it only lasted for a while because she was just reminded that he was one more person she was destined to lose so here she was walking alone in the streets trying to find a coffee house to give her some sort of energy.
New York was a big place, even though all the streets and shops were crowded everything seemed so empty
She spotted the lights of a café and headed down, it was dark and gloomy and a chilly December but there was something awfully mystical about it; she just had to stop and stare for a while that was until she felt the burning sensation of hot liquid spill on her and the body of a man crash into her; she was about to yell but his voice stopped her
"Excuse me love" he said gruffly and walked straight past her, he didn't even look at her; he simply ignored his callas mistake and walked on by. She didn't get a chance to yell because he was already gone in the crowd of people. She ignored what happened and went to het coffee in her drenched attire; there was no point changing because she was bound to have someone else spill coffee on her
The next time they met was the very next day
She got up early like always but this time she had no job to go to, she could spend the whole day with her dad; he would ask her why she wasn't at work and she would have to lie; her dad would blame himself for holding her back or feel guilt over her working extra hours or getting a job she didn't want because she was the only one who could pay for his medical bills; she was his only family and he was hers
She walked into the hospital and found the cafeteria first because she would always need a good sugar rush to get her day going, as she went to reach for the last custard and cream doughnut a hand placed on top of hers and took it before she could
"Hey that was mine" she glared looking up to the strangers face only to recognise him from the man who spilled coffee all over her, as she looked at him closer she noticed his dark misty eyes, they had tire lines and it seemed as if he had been up for days but he didn't look any less perfect; was it possible to have someone so absolutely breath-taking alive
"Sorry love but I grabbed it first" he smiled, he seemed nicer than he did yesterday
"You already spilled coffee on me, the least you could do is let me have this" she said as he looked at her for a moment
"That was you yesterday" he asked, it sounded as if he felt bad
"Yes I have the silk blouse to prove it" she mumbled
"Oh I'm sorry Love, I was having a bad day and I needed to rush to get here, if I knew it was someone like you-"before he could finish his apology was interrupted by Caroline's voice
"Someone like me, what is that supposed to mean?" She glared
"It means someone beautiful" he smiled and she just mocked laugh even though his words sent a flutter through her body
"Is that your way of flirting?" she asked rhetorically
"It is if it's working" he winked, his words made her chuckle; it surprised her because she hadn't laughed in a long time
"Flattery will get you know where" she pointed
"I'm just pointing out the obvious" he said raising his hands in defence, he had that same cheesy grin on his face
She was about to speak but she saw the time and realised she had to go, she always made sure that she went to see her dad at the same time every day; it's been a weird obsession of hers. She thinks that if she counts the time it will go slower but it only seems to tick by faster
"Listen" she started before she realised she didn't catch his name
"It's Nik…Niklaus or Klaus" he said nervously
"Ok I think I'll go with Nik, I would love to stay and fight for my food but I need to go and see my dad" She said sadly
"Oh is your dad a doctor here?" he asked trying to keep her longer
"Oh no he's a patient" she smiled back to him but it was her sad smile; the smile that broke hearts
"Oh so I'm guessing you're here a lot then" he said
"Yup everyday for the past 2 years" she replied
"That's funny because I'm here every day to" he grinned
"Yeah well maybe I'll see you around then" She smiled as her eyes flickered to his in and intense way, they shined like bright diamonds; her eyes could capture him in a deep spell where he could be forever lost
"Well if you happen to be here I don't know 12.45 and we happen to see each other you can fight me over your doughnut again" he causally said avoiding all eye contact with her
"Hmmm 12.45, I don't know we'll see won't we" she smiled sweetly and then walked away
Klaus just looked on; he didn't know if he was ready to have a relationship considering he's spent the past 4 years in this hospital praying for his brother to wake up but it didn't mean he couldn't try; He could tell a girl like her was one on a million
"Hey wait a second you didn't give me your name" Klaus shouted
"My name's Caroline" she shouted back and then vanished into the herd of people in the hospital
"Caroline" he repeated "I'll see you again Caroline" he smiled to himself
The first time they got really drunk was when they got bad news and needed some sort of cheering up, they didn't intend for it to happen but it did and you can never take back what's already begun
It started off with another flirtatious day in the hospital cafeteria but then they both got some bad news. It turned out that poor little Henry could only live with life support so he was technically brain dead; Klaus had the decision to take him off life support and see if he breathed on his own which was highly unlikely. The next bad news was for Caroline, her dad's cancer was inoperable which meant he was a dead man walking; in a few months or days even hours he could die and there was nothing she could do to stop it.
All along she knew he would be gone but just hearing the doctor say them made everything seem so much clear; she could still hear his words
"I'm sorry Miss Forbes but your father's cancer had progressed which means it is non treatable; I suggest you spend what little time you have with him because it will be your last"
Here she thought doctors were supposed to let you down gently instead it felt like her heart had been ripped out.
She tried so hard to face her dad and go into his room but she couldn't, she couldn't face him knowing that it might be the last time she sees him so she ran; she ran to the only place that brought her happiness.
As she stepped into the hospital cafeteria she looked at the food and noticed the custard cream doughnuts, it brought a smile to her face as she re lived the memory of her and Nik, she went to grab one and like fate had it, it was the last one
As she was about to take a bite his smooth voice stopped her
"And here I thought we were past the food stealing" he smiled but she could see the tear stains on his cheeks; his eyes were pain ridden and his smile seemed broken; just like hers
"Yes but this time you weren't here to steal it" she smirked back to him
"As I recall I did not steal it, you were simply to slow to take it first" He winked and snatched it out of her hands
"Hey that's not fair, you always get it" she huffed in her cute Caroline way; her baby pout always made him smile
"Like I said you're too slow and besides I've had a terrible and depressing day so I get it"
"Hello were in a hospital every day is terrible and depressing"
"As true as that is my day was much worse" he said
"Oh really I grantee you that the day I had was much less satisfying than yours" she retorted
"Did you find out that your brother is dead without a machine" he said back
"No but I did find out my dad is dead well at least going to die and there is nothing anyone can do"
"Ok you win" He said
"No yours is pretty terrible to, I'll call it a draw" she smiled sadly, although they could joke about the tragic events happening in their life it just brought back the pain of what was truly going on
"I'm sorry love" he softly said
"I'm sorry to" she said
After what seemed like forever they snapped out of the silent stare gaze in the distance
"We should get drunk it helps a lot with the pain" she said as he just agreed and followed her out of the hospital
7 tequila shots and 6 moult scotch later
"Ok, Ok your saying your childhood was shit, My Mum ran away as soon as she gave birth to me and then when I was 7 she came back pleading to my dad that she was sorry and she changed and we believed her but then she screwed like 20 other guys and she was a raging alcoholic and blamed me for all of her problems until she ended up killing herself in my room and wrote this letter saying she just couldn't handle being my parent; I mean when I was old enough to understand I was Like bitch I couldn't handle being your daughter but at least I didn't kill myself" Caroline Dunkley rambled as Klaus lined up their next rounds of shots
"Ok that was pretty bad but mine is worse, My dad used me as his own punching bad, My mum was a complete bitch and liked to also blame me for running her marriage; She was the one who had the affair not me, My siblings always hated me for some reason and liked to also pin point our family troubles on me and then when my dad had a stroke and died it said in his will that Elijah and Rebecca get everything so my mum walked out along with my siblings; they left me to take care of Henry and then Henry got in a comma and everything and I tried to contact them but they said and I quote 'he's your problem Niklaus not ours'" Klaus giggled
Any sane person would of thought they were messed up but they were really, really drunk
"Yeah you're right your childhood was shit I mean my mum was mental but my dad was a good dad your dad sounded like my mums male twin" Caroline laughed as Klaus joined in on the laughter
"Yo bartender can we get two more rounds of your strongest tequila" Caroline ordered as the bartender shaked his head at the two, they were beyond drunk and he should of stopped serving them hours ago but it was good business
"Coming up" he said
"So Caroline how's life?" Klaus asked
"Shittttttt I mean it's like sooooo bad and oh my gawwwwd is that Tyler" Caroline slurred
"Wait whatttt Who Tiz iz A Tyler" Klaus said butchering his speech; the alcohol was starting to have more of an effect now
"Oh my Niki He's my old Boyfwend god I so told you about this before, remember It was a sad day and I was crying because my life is shit and then I went into the whole big story of Caroline Forbes sad life" she said giving him a child's look; they now had the mental ability of 5 year old
Before Klaus could say anything Tyler and some girl were walking up to them
"Caroline" Tyler said as Elena stood next to him awkwardly
"Tyler Heyyyyy" she smiled and laughed as her and Klaus broke out into a fit of giggles
"Care are you ok?" Elena asked noticing the obvious change in behaviour to them, last time she had seen Caroline was when she got caught having sex with Tyler
"Yeah Lena I'm finnnnnneeeeeeeeeee I just feel really really giddy" Caroline giggled
"So Caroline how have you been and who's your friend?" Tyler said as he glared at Klaus, Just because he cheated on her doesn't mean he stopped loving her even if he was dating Elena
"Oh this is Nikki bear" Caroline said pinching his cheeks
"Carolinnne I said don't call me that god I am not a baby" Klaus pouted as he crossed his arms like a 4 year old
Tyler just growled at Caroline's actions towards Klaus, Him and Elena were too stupid to realise that were drunk enough to die
"So that's it Caroline you just move on with him" Tyler yelled as Elena gasped but Caroline was too busy poking her finger in Klaus's dimples
"Hey stop it, it tickles" Klaus laughed
"What are you Gonna do about it" she said sticking out her tongue
"This" he said tickling her side, she was laughing so much that she didn't notice Tyler rip Nik off her and Punch him square in the face
"Keep your hands of her she's mine" Tyler yelled as Elena sobbed
"I knew you still loved her" Elena shouted as the whole bar of people just stood and watched them all
"Of course I love her Elena it's Caroline I never stopped plus she's so much better at sex than you" Tyler shrugged
"Oh god so I wasn't dreaming when you said her name instead of mine" Elena cried more
"Oh no Nikki's got a boo, boo" Caroline said and she went to Klaus and noticed the punch mark of Tyler's fist
"Bad Tyler, you are a very bad boy" she said
"What's wrong with you Caroline you're acting like a fucking 2 year old" Tyler shouted
Caroline was about to speak but then Klaus got up and literally rammed Tyler out of the door with one push
"Wow" Caroline said as she sipped her new tequila with a pink straw
"He tots deserved that" Caroline said as Klaus sad back next to her laughing
"I know, why did you date him" Klaus asked in a more deep tone
"Why do you wanna know" Caroline smiled
"Because it makes me mad that you dated him" he said looking in her eyes
"It makes me mad to" she responded
They were about to kiss but then
"Alright everyone break it up" The bartender said
"Nikki bear and Care is it" The bartender asked while Caroline nodded her head and Klaus glared at the name
"You too are to drunk and will probably end up drunk killing someone so I'm going to call a taxi and you're going to go home and sleep this alcohol off and be adults again" The man said
"Yes sir" Caroline saluted as Klaus murmured "Kiss ass"
10 minutes later they were fumbling into a taxi singing Barbie girl and annoying the hell out of the cab man
When the car finally stopped they stumbled into Caroline's apartment, he had never seen where she lived and the same for her when it came to him because they mostly just slept and spent all their time in the hospital
"I'm sleepy" Caroline yawned as she walked into her bedroom
"Me to" Klaus smiled
Caroline dragged herself to her wardrobe and took out her pyjamas, they were a silk deep purple pair; they were to sext to be seen by a man but she was drunk and had no clue what to wear
"Carolinne what am I going to do" Klaus asked
"Nikki poo we're going to have a sleepover duh" she said
"But I don't have my stuff" he whined
"Don't be such a big baby" shew said and took of her blouse which caught the attention of Klaus as he just gawked at her
Caroline noticed his gaze but instead of being embarrassed she smiled; she wasn't going to lie and say that she didn't enjoy his attention but what she didn't expect was for him to strip of his clothes until he was only in his boxers; oh boy did he have a nice body
Once she finished getting ready she jumped on her bed
"Come on Nikki you can sleep next to me because I'm nice like that" she smiled as he crawled next to her and switched the lights
It felt natural to lean into his chest and cuddle and by the tight grip of his embrace she assumed he liked it to
"Nikki poo that better be your leg poking into me" She smiled before she fell asleep into his arms
"I can't help it love you're just too damn beautiful" he whispered before he fell to his sub conscious
The first time they kissed was actually the next morning when they woke up with a huge hangover and spent most of the day puking and watching TV and avoiding the subject of what happened last night because they couldn't remember anything
Until later that day when they were sober enough to realise everything that happened or more so remember, at first they laughed and then they laughed some more but then they cried, they cried about the bitter memories of the past and they cried about the reason they got drunk but then they laughed again
"I actually can't believe that you pushed Tyler flying out of the door" Caroline smiled
"I can't believe that tool punched me" Klaus said
"It's ok I'll take Care of you Nikki bear" Caroline giggled
"Call me that again and I'll never speak to you again" he smiled
"Oh please you wouldn't last a day without me" she said, her words seem to make the laughing mood stop and turn the situation more tense; she could feel his gaze as if he was piercing into her soul
"What are we Caroline?" He asked silently, she was shocked for a moment but then she just smiled
"Whatever you want us to be" she said
His face plastered into a huge grin
"Well I want you to be my girlfriend" he grinned
"And I would also love to be your girlfriend" she said
"Boyfriends and Girlfriends usually kiss you know" he smirked
"Oh do they know, well I think you need to show me" she said
"My pleasure" he said back as he leaned his face into hers, his hand brushed against her cheek and her hand did the same
They locked lips slowly but moved together like a symphony, his hand got tangled in her blonde locks and her body got flush against his
When they finally stopped for air his words ghosted against her lips like a silent whisper
"Genuine beauty"
The first time they had a date outside of the hospital was when they watched the starts under the bridge. The most beautiful time is when its pitch black and the only light are the stars and moon. Nik would always say that 'we don't need a moon love; you hold more light than anything else' and then they would proceed to make out; it was as if they were teenagers again
"Let me paint you Caroline" Klaus asked as they laid against the grass, he was looking at her because he could never take his eyes off her but she was looking at the dark sky; he noticed that she loved the darkness
She shifted her body so she was facing him, she could spend eternity staring into his eyes; every time she casted a look she felt paralysed; she never understood what it meant when people would say 'true love' but she gets it now. She thought she loved Tyler but then again she thought she loved her old high school boyfriends to but noting could even compare to the emotion she felt with Nik. It as if she was in utopia, she would almost forget all her problems and sadness; they would forget together. They both had dark pasts and suffered pain but being with him made the pain seem insignificant.
They hadn't proclaimed their love, they hadn't spoken the words or shared the physical feel but they could see it in each other's eyes; it's the look of pure adoration
Her father once told her that Love is defined in matter of having more regard for the other person in every possible way and yes she would agree with that but her love with Nik was having the sensation of feeling complete
"Hey what are you thinking about" he asked as he moved closer to her
"Yes you can paint me" she smiled, she knew he was an artist but he also told her that he hadn't painted since the day his brother was admitted
The smile on his face was enough to send her to paradise
The first time they had a fight was a big one
"Oh my god Nik what is it" Caroline said as she saw Klaus leaned against her apartment door reeking of alcohol
"Henrik died" he said as he took another swig of the rum
"I'm so sorry" she gasped as she kneeled down beside him
"Really are you or is it just pity" he growled
His cruel tone shocked her for moment but she understood that he was in pain and it wasn't really him speaking
"Nik I know what you're going through and I know your upset but drinking isn't going to help" she said softly, she was about to touch him but he flinched
"Don't touch me Caroline" he said darkly
"Listen Nik I'm just trying to help you" she said in a calm manor, she tried to not let his words affect her but seeing him so pain ridden shattered her heart
"Oh please, You're not trying to help me, you only use me to help yourself , you never cared about me; in fact the only reason you actually spoke to me was because you had nobody" he shouted
She tried not to cry but she wasn't that strong
"You know that's not true" she said through her tears
"Oh look here come the water works, god you can't even handle one comment, you need everything to be sugar coated or something so you don't feel pain well news flash you have to feel pain" he spat
She didn't know why he was being like this, the whole time they were together he had never been like this; they had only had good moments but now she could see that he clearly didn't love her if he could so easily hurt her
"newsflash NIK I've been feeling pain, for the past 23 years of my life I've been feeling pain so don't give me the whole you live in your perfect bubble world speech" she yelled back as he laughed darkly
"You know if I hadn't been distracted by you I could of spent more time with Henrik" he blamed
"Oh and what would that do, he in a bloody comma he can't speak or move; you and I both know he died a long time ago and I'm pretty sure he's better if without YOU" she screamed
"Shut up, Shut up" he kept repeating
"Get out and never see me again were over arsehole; I can't believe I ever loved you" she yelled and slammed the door of her apartment shut
Klaus just stood there shocked for a minute, he realised what he had done but the sorrow he was feeling now clouded him; he just kept seeing what happened

Klaus was sitting in the chair again beside Henrik, he seemed so peaceful, like he was sleeping but only he wasn't
It went so fast, all he did was go to get a coffee from the espresso machine down the hall when a code blue alarm went through the corridor. He passed it off as nothing but when he went back to the room he saw the doctors with a crash cart
The coffee slipped out of his hand and splashed on the floor
"What happened" Klaus breathed as he watched the doctors preform CPR
"Push one of Epee" A doctor shouted
"Doctor Marshall he can't breathe on his own, even if you did revive him his body would slowly shut down; his brain can't function and his organs are shutting down; he's a viable organ donor but we can only use them once he's dead" Some other doctor said
Klaus just stood there; his mind was racing over and over again, why these damn doctors wouldn't say anything
He just heard Organs, death, dead, dead, dead, and dead
The sound of the beep shook him from his thoughts
He looked at the monitor, it was that straight line you see when a person's die, he recognised it from that show grey's anatomy; Caroline always makes him watch it with her
She had some creepy crush on this Jackson guy; he apparently had magical eyes but she would say he was cuter
Henrik was dead
"Mr Mikelson I'm sorry but your brother went into cardiac arrest, we tried to revive him with CPR but he was un responsive, we pushed 2 doses of epee but he flat lined; there's nothing more we can do" Dr marshal said
"No, you have to save him" Klaus said
"I'm sorry Mr Mikelson but he's dead" Dr marshal condoned
"No this is your fault, you could of saved him but instead you let him die; you let my brother die, I heard that nurse say you could use his organs; you wanted him dead" Klaus raged; it seemed his anger over crowded his pain.
"Mr Mikelson I assure you that there was no conflict of interest perused in the death of your brother"
"Stop saying that, he isn't dead, stop saying he's DEAD!" Klaus shouted
"I'm sorry but there's nothing we can do" Dr Marshall said
"GET OUT, ALL OF YOU" Klaus shouted as everyone scurried out of the room
He took a moment to look at his brother, he had none of those wires attached to him, he didn't have that stupid oxygen mask attached across his face; he wasn't plugged up to any machines; he looked like his baby brother who loved to ride on his bike and ask out girls who were out or his league
"Why did you have to die" Klaus sobbed silently
"If you wake up now I'll promise never to call you shorty again and I'll never kick you out of my painting room again" He cried
When he got no response he pleaded again
"God damn it, remember what you said to me after they all left, You said 'Nik you're not alone you still have me' and then you gave me your puppy dog smile and we went to the lake outside our old cabin
"What am I going to do without you" He cried
He didn't know how long he had been crying for but he finally got up and decided to buy the most expensive alcohol there is and somewhere between drinking and smashing glasses he tumbled his way to Caroline's apartment
After she heard Klaus leave she leaned against her door and cried, she couldn't believe what had just happened
She and Klaus broke up but even worse Henrik was dead
She felt sick, Ill, disgusting
Klaus was being a dick and he said some nasty things but his brother just died, his brother that was the only persons he's ever had and now that they broke up he had no one. If being mean and horrible to her helped him with his grief then shouldn't she do it but the words he said; she looked at his eyes and they were filled with hate and anger. She couldn't tell if he was being truthful or not but now it was too late
Things were said that could never be taken back
It had been a week now, a full week full of avoidance and sadness. She hadn't seen him, she hadn't called him she hadn't heard him. At first she thought she should give him time; after her mother died she found that being alone was the best way.
She went past Henrik's room in the hospital but it was empty, she asked doctor marshal and found out that they discharged Henrik's body the day he died as requested by Nik.
When she finally got the courage to call him and check if he was still alive because god knows she was going crazy thinking about it; wondering if he overdosed or if he was hit by a car. She found that his phone beeped and his number was disconnected. The next week she went by his apartment only to find out that he moved; the landlord said that he left in such a hurry that he left all his furniture.
She got so worried and scared that she spent almost all her time near the custard and cream doughnuts every day at 12.45 hoping he'd show up and everything would be okay.
She tried every day but nothing
1 month later she was in the hospital witnessing her dad die, she cried over and over and all she wanted was Nik but he wasn't here. She stayed in her bedroom for that whole week scrolling through the pictures of her and her dad. All she was capable of was crying and eating chocolate. She didn't have anybody, her friends either died or hurt her or some just left. She didn't like to be social because she fears that if she gets close to someone she'll lose them but she got close to Nik because she actually thought things were turning her way but like always life happened and she managed to get the short end of the stick again
It wasn't until the next week did she decide to go out, she thought maybe a quiet bar would give her some closure or thinking time. The last time she went out was for her dad's funeral, it was a closed funeral but it was still a lovely service.
She didn't want to get to drunk but some whisky always helped
She was sitting alone starring at the wall, when some guy came up to her. She hadn't been with anyone other than Nik and she wasn't planning to. Sex was the last thing on her mind; I mean it literally took her and Nik a whole year to kiss; she was always one for romance. At times she wondered if he had been with anyone after her but she shook the thoughts because it made her sick to her stomach
"Hello gorgeous" The man purred as he took the sit next to her, she didn't even bother to smile at him or even acknowledge him; she just wanted to be alone
"Not much for talking eh, well I can fix that" he said cockily and she just scoffed at his words
"Oh know I do talk ,just only to people who are worth my time" she said coldly
"Jeez angel know need to be so harsh, You know if you took the time to talk to me and have a drink you would find that I'm quite a catch" The man said
With his words she turned to face him, he was good looking, tall, he had brown doe eyes and a defined face but he just wasn't her type. He was the tool whose ego is the size of Russia.
"No thanks I'd rather drink alone" she said looking back at the wall
"I'm not going to leave without your number" he said playfully
"Well if you're not going to leave then I'll just go" she sighed taking a 20 out if her purse and giving to the bartender
Before she could leave the guy grabbed her hand tightly
"Don't go, stay have a drink" he said more coldly
"Let go of me, you obviously don't deal with rejection well" she yelled as she tried to pull her arm of his grip suddenly he was facing her with a dark look in his eyes
"If I say stay, you stay" he glared
"The Lady said let go" a dark voice came from behind him, she recognised that voice; it was Nik
"Listen Mate me and my girlfriend here were talking so fuck off" the guy growled as Caroline tried to squirm away, she saw the way Nik's face turned when the man said she was his girlfriend; she couldn't let him believe it
"Get off me, I don't even know who you are" she shrieked, she saw Nik's face scrunch up in anger, his face seemed like he was out to kill
He grabbed the man off Caroline and pulled him up by his shirt
"now you listen here mate" Nik spat in a venom tone
"You are going to stay away from her and if you ever go near her again I will Kill you before you have the chance to even touch her" Nik growled as the man tried to fight him, It just pissed Klaus off even more
Since the man wasn't listening Klaus decided to twist his wrist against his back until he was screaming in pain
"Are you going to listen now" Klaus glared
"Yes…yes" the man sobbed
"Good, now apologise to her and stay far from her, in fact if I ever see your face again I'll kill you with my bare fists" he threatened
"Sorrrry" the man cried to Caroline, she just gave a nod of her head as she was so shocked to see Nik here
"NOW GO" Klaus yelled as the man scurried away
Before she could even speak to him Klaus just walked out of the pub doors and of course Caroline chased behind him
"Nik wait" she called until he finally froze and stopped
"What Caroline" he yelled and avoided looking at her
"Don't what Caroline me you arsehole, First of all Hi it's good to see you again after almost 2 Fricking months" she shouted as she made him face her
"Don't play coy with me Caroline, You're the one who told me to get out of your life, you're the one who broke up with me and you're the one-"
"Ok I get it, we had a fight and I said some horrible things but so did you and secondly that doesn't give you an excuse for not calling me, or texting me; I mean I even skyped called you and stalked your land lord" She shouted
"You told me to go Caroline so I did" he shouted, the sound of thunder pierced through the sky as the rain started dripping like a hurricane. Great not only was it dark as fuck but now it was raining like it was the last day of the world
"I didn't say go" she argued as she shivered "I thought you were dead" she cried "I was worried sick"
"Why would you care Caroline after all you were the one who said you can't believe you loved me, so why, why do you blood care" He growled facing her, their noses were practically touching and they were drenched head down
"I lied, I was mad; you made me cry" she tried
"That's exactly it Caroline, I made you cry, I was mean cruel and harsh, I picked the fight because I didn't deserve you" he said softly
"And here we go again with wait what?" she said
"I'm not good for you Caroline I never was, the day Henry died was the day you saw who I really was" he whispered
"No, I know who you are, I accept every part of you because I love you" she said grabbing his face, she pulled his mouth to her and sealed her lips on his, she felt him fight her at first be then he leaned in, his hand brushed the locks of her hair out of her face and the other cupped her chin as he leaned deeper in her mouth. Their bodies pressed together as the rained dripped all around
"Where have you been" she asked when they pulled apart, she face was leaned against hers and she felt his breathe chill her skin
"I tried to find my family but they wanted nothing to do with me, they didn't even want to go to the funereal" he said against her skin
"I'm sorry" She said softly into his ear
"I heard about your dad, it's why I'm here; I knew that I had to at least see you to make sure you're alright" he confessed
"I'm not alright but I will be now that you're here" she whispered and hugged his wet chest
"I have that feeling to love" he cooed
The first time they made love was when Henrik and her dad were still alive; they had a perfect date night again. He took her to the carnival and they got cotton candy and he did that thing in the movies where the boy takes some of the girls cotton candy and puts it in his mouth and then kisses her
They went on all the rides and she ushered into his chest when they went into the scary maze ride, it was perfect.
They generally always slept together but never had they shared the intimate meaning. It's not that she didn't crave him because she did but they never really had the right time. She knew that he wanted her though because whenever she wasn't looking at him he was staring at her.
After the carnival they went back to his apartment, it was only around 7pm; they would probably lie down and watch a film or have a late dinner
When they settled into his sofa, they kicked back and cracked open some white wine, it was the best if you were having an evening in. They were currently snuggled up together in a warm embrace; they decided well she decided that they were going to watch the notebook again
"I don't understand why you cry every time when you watch this" Klaus said as she gave him a playful glare
"I cry because it's sad"
"Yeah but you have watched this film over a zillion times and you cry a waterfall every time" he laughed
"I'm very emotional, we all can't be like you" she teased
"Oh really, I'm sure you've gained a few skills from me" he smirked as she laughed
"Well if you're suggesting my kissing skills improved because of you, your wrong; if anything you learnt it off me" she smiled
"Well you are really good kisser" he said nipping her neck slightly
"Hmmm I know" she moaned as he kissed along her pulse point and then slowly kissed along her jaw and then he pecked her lips lightly
She responded by latching onto his lips and plunging her tongue deep into his mouth, she could feel his growl vibrate all the way down her throat
His hands moved across her body and entwined over her waist; drawing her closer to him
She moaned in response to his actions, her chest pushed against his own and the television was long forgotten
"We don't have to do this" he breathed as he removed himself from her lips; was it wrong that he disagreed with his own words
"I know we don't but I want to" She smiled seductively
That was all the encouragement he needed before returned to his movements, her sighs and moans just made him shiver with need
They were still on his sofa and although he wouldn't mind getting acquainted with her on it, he wanted it to mean a lot more than a quicke on the couch
So he picked her up bridal style and kicked the door to his room wide open, he dropped her on the bed and leaned on top of her; her giggles soon turned back into pleas as he massaged his self against her
He fondled with her shirt for a moment until it slid expertly off her body, then her shorts seemed to disappear to; she was only left in her bra and panties. He took a moment to admire her, he growled at the sight; she was pure perfection
Her toned legs had been taunting him all day, every time she 'accidently' brushed past him and had that look in her eyes or when she sat on his lap and traced his own leg with hers. He was always ready for her; it seemed that anything she did turned him on
"Beautiful" he purred as he removed her bra, her cheeks went pink instantly it made him proud to know his words still had an effect on her
She slowly moved her hands up his shirt, she gently brushed her fingers against his chest, and she reached the hem of his shirt and brought it over his head. She sub consciously bit her lip when she saw how toned he was
It was an intimate gesture, the slow movements and gazing looks
He massaged her all over and whispered sweet nothings in her ear
She managed to un do him of his trousers only to find out that he likes to go commando, she caught his smirk and realised that she was basically staring at his penis
"You know love if you take a picture it will last longer" he laughed on top of her
"You think this is funny don't you" she said but then smiled evilly
Her hand traced along the tip of his manhood and pumped him slowly, she saw his face contort with pleasure; she was going slow on purpose
"Caroline" he moaned into her neck
"Yes" she smirked
"Enough" he said as he pushed her hand from him and kissed down her body
"Tell me what you want me to do" he said while peppering her all over
"I want you to make love to me" she smiled
His body moved skilfully as he ripped away the last of her clothing that was keeping him from making her scream
She looked into his eyes intently as she felt him push in her, her blue orbs widened with pleasure; he got a thrill knowing that he was giving her the same pleasure she gave him
His hands laced around her neck and brought her forward, he kissed her slowly and moved at a slow pace
Her moans echoed all over his skin, he picked up his pace more when she thrusted her hips forward sending him to oblivion
"Faster" she begged into his ear as her nails scratched along his back, he complied willingly
He pushed harder into her, he repeated his groans again and again; theirs moans seemed to voice around each other
When he added slight pressure to his movements it sent her tumbling over the edge; she cried out into his shoulder and bite down making him follow her
"Caroline" his voice quivered as hid body shaked on top of hers, the look of bliss on his face was enough to send her realign of the edge again
He fell onto of her small body, their erratic breathing slowly lowered; he kissed alongside her face again and slowly rolled off her
She curled into his chest as he wrapped his body over hers
"That was-" she started
"Wow" he breathed and kissed the top of her head
"Yeah wow" she smiled happily "Do you want to go again" she asked and he laughed
"Love if you thought that I was going to sleep after that your wrong" he smiled wickedly
"I am going to make you scream" he hushed in her ear
This was going to be a long night she smiled to herself
The day her proposed to her was the happiest day of her life, well second happiest day; the first was when they got married
Today was their 4 year anniversary of being together; she was currently standing in the middle of central park wondering why he told her to meet him here.
She was standing and waiting when she noticed rose petals were falling around her, she didn't understand what was happening. She looked around and saw they were only falling to wear she was. All the people in the street were just starring at her while she tried to call Nik and ask him what the hell was going on
It was then did she hear the sound of male singing, as she looked to wear it was coming from she saw Nik and she realised he was the one singing
He was singing her favourite song
"Forever, whenever, where meant to be together"
"You're the only one for me until eternity, so come close to me and hold my hand and let's be free my baby"
"Your shine when it's dark nothing can tare us apart; you're my love heart"
He kept singing until he had made his way over to her and she was already crying tears of happiness by now but then he got on one knee and everything seemed so surreal
"Caroline Forbes since the first moment I met you I just knew that we were destined to be" Klaus smiled as he opened up the velvet box
Inside laid the most beautiful diamond encrusted ring
"This ring almost sparkles as much as you" he said looking into her eyes
She didn't know she was holding her breathe but she only exhaled when he said
"Caroline Forbes will you marry me?"
All the people in the streets where just screaming "SAY YES"
She stood still for a moment; she didn't need to think she's always had the answer
"Yes" she said
"Yes a thousand times and more" she jumped as Klaus slid the ring on her finger
He then proceeded to kiss her, her leg went up, It was like one of those romance movies; everything was perfect
Their wedding was a small little ceremony; she wore a white cream dress, while he opted for a classic black tux. They didn't have any guests they only had the priest and one witness.
They decided to have their wedding in Thailand and go on a world cruise for their honeymoon.
The moment he saw her walk into the small chapel he felt his heart stop
She was pure perfection; she radiated beauty
Her hair was curled around her face that was covered by her lace vale, he dress was stunning, it was a tight white embodied dress; the silk was soft and it had a simple opening near the front of the chest and the ending of the dress flowed to the ground. Her curves were defined and she looked glorious
When she walked down the alter she felt the weight of her train, she was actually getting married and it was to the most wonderful man in the world.
She saw him standing their waiting; He looked so handsome; how did she get so lucky?
When they stood one to one the vicar proceeded with the ceremony
"Dearly Beloved, we are gathered together here in the sign of God – and in the face of this company – to join together this man and this woman in holy matrimony, which is commended to be honourable among all men; and therefore – is not by any – to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly – but reverently, discreetly, advisedly and solemnly. Into this holy estate these two persons present now come to be joined. If any person can show just cause why they may not be joined together – let them speak now or forever hold their peace.
Marriage is the union of husband and wife in heart, body and mind. It is intended for their mutual joy – and for the help and comfort given on another in prosperity and adversity. But more importantly – it is a means through which a stable and loving environment may be attained."
"You may now exchange your vows"
Klaus turned to Caroline and smiled
"Caroline ever since I saw you in the cafeteria I was possessed by you, you are everything good and pure in this world. I never knew what it felt to feel complete but once I met you I found that fullness. I never thought I would have someone as beautiful and down to earth as you. My life would have no meaning if you weren't in it. Through every struggle and heart ache we have always found a way to be with one another, to love and care for one another in the hardest of times. I love you with all my heart and I promise to be you with for the afterlife and eternity and whatever comes after that"
She tried not to cry but his words just made the tears flow
He had the look of pure love, the same one that would always play on her face to
"Klaus ever since I was a child I remember being so alone but ever since I met you the feeling just went away. I thought I knew love but I didn't even know the true meaning of happiness until I met you. When I look at you all I see is an angel, my hands still tingle when I know you're in the room and my heart beats faster every time I see you. I am completely and utterly in love with you and I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have you. Not only are you my best friend but your also my partner, companion, lover and soul mate. I can't wait to walk out of this chapel being Caroline Mikelson; I can't wait to spent every day single day for the rest of my life with you" She said from the bottom of her heart
"Do you Niklaus Mikelson take Caroline Forbes to be your wife – to live together after God's ordinance – in the holy estate of matrimony? Will you love her, comfort her, honour and keep her, in sickness and in health, for richer, for poorer, for better, for worse, in sadness and in joy, to cherish and continually bestow upon her your heart's deepest devotion, forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto her as long as you both shall live?"
"I do" Klaus said
"Do you Caroline Forbes take Niklaus Mikelson to be your husband – to live together after God's ordinance – in the holy estate of matrimony? Will you love him, comfort him, honour and keep him, in sickness and in health, for richer, for poorer, for better, for worse, in sadness and in joy, to cherish and continually bestow upon him your heart's deepest devotion, forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto him as long as you both shall live?"
"I do" she smiled
Exchange of Wedding Rings
"May these rings be blessed as the symbol of this affectionate unity? These two lives are now joined in one unbroken circle. Wherever they go – may they always return to one another? May these two find in each other the love for which all men and women year? May they grow in understanding and in compassion?"
"I now pronounce you husband and wife; you may kiss the bride"
Klaus whisked Caroline into him as they sealed their love with an undying kiss
And finally their end was a memory that would never be forgotten
They were going out to dinner, they were in the car and he was driving, all of a sudden everything seemed so dark and she felt her head bang. She woke up from a blinding light, as her eyes slightly opened she saw a faded image of a rather large truck, there was glass shattered everywhere, she was lying in the middle of the road all blooded; her leg hurt and she was short of breath.
She turned her head and saw the collision of her and Nik's car with some un know car, she tried to move but it only seemed like a slow motion speed. Their car was toppled over; she could see the blood trickle on the shattered glass of the car window, she kept thinking Nik, Nik over again.
She went over to his side, his body was trapped underneath some sort of metal, his eyes were closed and the crimson of red dripped form his head, his face was in cuts and his body was rigged and stilled
"Oh god Nik" she cried and she got closer to him, she felt something stab sharp into her as she moved forward. She tried to drag him out and when she finally did his body seem to bleed more; he was losing too much blood. She cradled him in her arms and whimpered for him to wake but he was there in silence
She felt his pulse slow but it was still there, he couldn't leave her, she knew he needed medical help but she had no phone and she wouldn't leave him; she could hear the faint sound of sirens but her cries seemed to drown everything out
She stroked his face slowly; she sang their song to him, for some reason beyond relief he opened his eyes but his mouth chocked out blood
"Caroline" he crooked and she cried
"Please don't die, were supposed to have a happy ending with the white picket fence and children" She sobbed as he bled out into her arms
"I love you Caroline Mikelson" He smiled as everything turned black for him, she felt his body stiffen and his chest stopped and just stilled, his eyes were open still; like a glass figure; it's as if time was frozen
She kept crying, she didn't stop, she held his dead body in her arms, and she brushed her hands against his cheek and closed his open eyes. Her tears dripped and she felt her own heart stop, her body gave in; she collapsed against his body.
She could hear her last heartbeats like a ticking drum and suddenly it all stopped and she was carried into the light
When the ambulance finally came they were only met with the sight of two lovers wrapped in a dead embrace; it seemed that even in death they were still inseparable.
Their accident was all over the news, there was a funeral wear people cried, the only people Caroline and Klaus ever really had were each other.
Klaus's death report said he died of external bleeding, he was a dead man as soon as he was hit, the car that collided with them managed to knock him into the front shield and then cause a crash course collision causing his body to be flung over that amount of pressure would have already damaged the vital organs in the human body but then the back of the car seemed to crush his lower pelvis; he bled out and died, his organs failed and his body failed
At first the medical examiner assumed that Caroline had a heart attack because of the shock she went through but they later found out that she had an internal bleed and it had spread to her heart; it was only a matter of minutes before she impaled and died.
They lived together and died together, no one ever spoke of them, and no one ever visited their graves because Klaus and Caroline were all they had. They didn't need other people; they didn't need family because they were each other's family
But they will be missed
A wise tale was once told, if you love someone so much your life will only cause their death
I guess in their case you could say their love was so unbreakable that it killed them
They first met because he was a man in a hurry and accidently spill coffee on her but their ending wasn't over after all he promised her eternity and eternity is an awfully long time
The end is only their beginning …
I know Morbid much, I was having a sad day and this made me feel better for some twisted reason. I feel sad after writing this but yeah I hope you liked it and sorry for the lack of update but I've been packing for my summer trip and haven't really had the time.
Which also leads me to say that I probably won't update until September because I'm going on Holiday and I don't know if I can, I will try though because writing Klaroline is my life well Klaroline is my life. Like always reviews give me life and yes I accept and try to write requests
I'm working on a couple of requests now so hopefully I can get those up before I leave
