"It is crazy!" Lucy supported Bobby "Come on guys! It's Jack! Since when do we trust Randy?"

"You're right Lucy" D assured "I'm sure it is just a giant misunderstanding! We should stay calm! Lucy, call Michele at the airport, she owes us a favour , let's check if Jack indeed bought tickets to Las Vegas and if it's true she should be able to tell us when he'll be back! "

Myles didn't wait another minute, seeing that Lucy hurried to the phone and all attention focussed on her he slipped out of the bullpen and dashed towards the elevator. If he would speed up he would make it to airport in time of Jack and Tara arrival! Muttering the insult aimed at Randy's stupidity he ran to the car.

"Michele confirmed that Jack flown on Friday to Las Vegas" Lucy announced hanging up and looking with sympathy at Sue's brightened face. She hated herself for what she had to say next "According to her he also bought two tickets for today's flight to Washington. They landed 15 minutes ago"

" It still means nothing " Bobby provided and seeing their doubting faces he added defending his best friend " It's Jack we are talking about here!"

Sue with effort suppressed the tears which flooded her eyes. She had no right to feel betrayed, but it hurt. The mere thought that Jack could marry somebody else that he loved somebody else. Deep in her heart she knew that Bobby was right, there had to be some logical explanation. It was Jack. Her friend and defender, a man she completely trusted. He wouldn't do something like that! Even if he didn't love her, even if he truly wished to marry somebody else he would have told her about it gently trying not to hurt her feelings.

"Bobby is right" she said "There is no point of panicking. We must wait until tomorrow and then Jack will explain it."

" Why wait till tomorrow?" Bobby asked grabbing his car keys and smiling widely.

You own me buddy he thought seeing Sue's smile.

"Oh thank you God!" Myles groaned with the relief at the sight of the two friends coming out through the gate.

"Hi Myles, what are you doing here?"

Usually composed Leland was on the verge of the nervous breakdown.

"We have a problem, the milk had spilt, the shit had hit the fan, name it as you want it, you are screwed!"

"Myles, what are you talking about we took care of everything! We annulled the marriage, the only trace is that damned ring which got stuck on my finger" Tara laughed

"Randy dropped by with the list of your credit card expenses " Myles confessed grimly.

Tara's smile faded.

Bobby Lucy,Sue D and Levi were sitting on stairs leading to Jack's building watching passing cars. Jack should arrive any moment. Sue was baiting her doubts. Could Jack really get married? Could she be so wrong, maybe she read too much in his looks and all those furtive touches of his hand. Maybe what for her meant everything for him was only meaningless flirtation ? Her heart was breaking from the very thought. Even Levi seemed to sense gloomy mood which overcame his friends.

"Damn" Myles swore stopping the car in front of traffic lights several metres from Jack's home. From the distance they could see a reception committee awaiting them. Tara could only groan they had hoped that they would have time till tomorrow to create some convincing story!

"Tough luck, it's time to face the music" Jack sighed heavily "Myles drop me off here and take Tara home, I will explain them everything"

"Are you sure you want to do it Jack? They didn't see us, I can still drive away" Myles proposed

"No, enough escaping, it's time to tell the truth. These are our friends, they don't deserve to be lie to "

" OK, but if we are supposed to do that we will do it together" Tara smiled " in the end it takes to people to get married "

The group sitting on stairs were left speechless when one by one Jack Tara and Myles step out from the car.

"Why are you here?"

"Tara? Jack? What's going on? "

" Jack where the hell were you?! You won't believe what Randy told us"

" Myles what is going on?!"

"If you allow me to! "

"Woaf! Woaf! "

The choir of voices and barking of the dog could be heard on the whole street. D shook his head, that way they would achieve nothing! He whistled and using temporary created silence proposed

"I think that it will be the best if we move this inside and let Jack and Tara tell us what happened"

Silently thanking D for his mindfulness Jack led the group to his apartment.

"Tara, Jack, will one of you finally explain what is going on? Just this morning Randy came sailing into the office claiming that Jack got married in Las Vegas" Bobby, hot-headed as usual, began talking before before they all sat down.

Jack swallowed and in despair glanced at Tara who stood by his side. In the gesture of uplift and support Tara laid her hand on his arm. Sue, Lucy and Levi seated themselves on the sofa, D took a chair next to them and Myles, always cautious, chose to stay near the door, only Bobby remained standing clearly waiting for the answer.

"Randy told the truth" Jack managed to utter, when the flash of gold on Tara's finger of the Tare attracted Bobby's attention.

He reminded speechless for a second before turning red with anger. Bobby straightened to his entire imposing height and in fury born from broken heart and failed trust shouted the very first words he could think of

"You married Tara? TARA? Did you lost your bloody mind? You married TARA?! " disbelief was clear in his voice

Myles flinched and D growled. From all the possible reactions Bobby chose the worst one! Now nothing else remained than to await the explosion. Myles bearing in mind that hell knows no fury like a women scorned cautiously leaned against the wall.

Tare, so far standing remorseful and quiet, felt as blind fury spread through her. How could he mock her like that?! Who the hell he was to tell something like that in front of all of their friends?! Did he have to humiliate her in front of them?! So she wasn't a long-legged slim model but really even an idea that somebody would like to marry her seemed so preposterous?!

"Yes with Tara. And what is so wrong about the idea, hmm? It's really so surprising that somebody would like to marry me? Marry Tara? " mimicking his accent Tara raised her voice to the scream " listen to me carefully Mr Manning! "

She came up to him and basing her hands on her hips she continued her tirade while inside Bobby's mind surprise and fear struggled with the arousal, she looked lovely when she was mad, like the little Valkyrie!

"We goofed up, yes we did, but you have nothing to say in that matter! You have no rights to criticise me or Jack, you have no rights to me! And yes Jack married me and who knows maybe somebody else will feel like marrying me in the future independently of how this thought seems unattractive to you!" she ended with the snort. Not waiting for Bobby to regain the ability to speak Tara turned on the heel and ignoring Jack's sympathising look disappeared in the bathroom. She didn't want anybody to see tears which began flowing down her cheeks.

Bobby instinctively made the step towards the bathroom but Jack blocked his way.

"Get of my way or I will punch you!"

"Later I will let you because you have every right " Jack pushed Bobbie back "but you will go to her only when you cool down and after you hear me out. You caused enough damage for one morning. You want to get mad and take it on someone here I am, give me your best shot, but leave Tara out of it!"

"Jack is right Bobby, sit down, let Jack explain" Sue was the only one in the room who seemed to preserve the common sense.

"Alright Jack go ahead explain this mess " Lucy helped Sue to seat Bobby on the sofa "but for your own sake it's better be good!"
