I don't own Inuyasha at all. If I did I'd have Sesshoumaru as my protective, cuddly bigbrother and Inuyasha would do my every bidding. As for Kikyou she would be burning in Hell where she belongs!
Chapter 14: A demoness
Kikyou looked at the scenery below her at a distance, a frown marring her delicate face as the wind made her long hair fly around her.
'Inuyasha's heart... I'm losing it to that... that thing!'
Rage lit up inside her brown eyes, her Holy Energy wrapping around her lithe form slowly, before settling down as her temper got under control.
"That's quite the Holy Energy you have there, young Miko..."
Kikyou whirled around and within two seconds she had an arrow on her bowstring, the weapon pointed into the darkness surrounding her from all sides.
"Who's there? Show yourself!" Kikyou demanded sharply, her brows meeting in a frown as a soft laughter was heard from the very edge of the forest.
"Why should I listen to your demands, human girl? I am a demoness, and a powerful one at that! Don't treat me like the common vermin you destroy daily!" the owner of the voice barked, authority sneaking its way around the words, and effectively making Kikyou break into a cold sweat. The Demonic Energy emanating from just beyond the trees felt as though it was alive, sneaking its way towards her, and caressing her body with the utmost care. The energy then tightened around her throat, just enough for the normal levels of oxygen Kikyou inhaled to diminish ever so slightly.
"If you are a demoness, what business do you have with someone like me?" Kikyou hissed as she continued pointing her bow in the direction the voice came from.
"Now that is an interesting question, young Miko, and a question that deserves an answer no doubt." the voice chuckled, and Kikyou's eyes narrowed when a slight glimmer of a cape was detected.
"Why don't you come out where I can see you, instead of embarrassing myself by pointing arrows left and right?" Kikyou growled and slowly lowered her bow as a sign of trust to whoever was hiding.
"As much as I'd like to come out there, young Miko, I'm afraid that your Holy presence is not healthy for me to be near. I would without a doubt be considerably weaker if I stepped closer to you."
"In that case, please come out as far as you can muster. I want to see who I am dealing with." Kikyou asked calmly, as she placed her bow against a nearby tree trunk, but the demoness didn't come out.
A soft laughter was heard from whoever was watching her and Kikyou's eyes narrowed dangerously.
"It is quite strange isn't it, Kikyou-chan? You use the forbidden arts of Necromancy to resurrect the once mighty Inu no Taisho, only to see that he is but a ghost, and you have no real way of returning him to his former glory without killing one of his sons. Sesshoumaru-kun clearly too powerful for you to kill, and that loathsome hanyou, Inuyasha, has taken hold in your still heart, isn't that right? You are losing, and you know it."
"NO! I am not going to lose Inuyasha to my reincarnation! He belongs to me, not that wretched girl!" Kikyou hissed, and clenched her hands as her Holy Energy started whipping around her once again.
"Calm yourself, I meant no disrespect, Miko." the demoness said, but Kikyou refused to hear the voice's words any longer.
"You're just here to separate me and Inuyasha! You're the reason everything has gone to Hell! YOU'RE THE—"
"Silence, you insolent brat!" the voice thundered, and Kikyou gasped in pain when something sharp was thrown through the air and embedded itself in her cold shoulder.
"What did you—"
"I said, silence!"
Kikyou's eyes widened as the owner of the voice now stepped out from behind a large oak, and slowly walked towards her. Wisps of lime green hair could be spotted underneath the dark hood that covered the upper part of the female's face, the lower part uncovered and showing off pale blemish free skin and luscious lips coated in a royal purple.
"...wh-who are you?" Kikyou croaked as the female knelt before her, and reached out to yank her weapon out of Kikyou's shoulder. With a pained cry, Kikyou felt the sharp object release its hold of her cold flesh, and a wide smirk spread across the demoness' mouth.
"I am known by many names, but you can call me..." the demoness' mouth split, showing two rows of perfect, white teeth, "Dissidia..."
OXO
Kagome had never really considered herself a very violent person, but when Kouga's kid out of nowhere demands that her daughter became 'his woman' she was pretty sure that it was within her authority to put a stop to such things. Saki, sitting on the futon she and her mother shared, was looking at her mother with wide eyes as she watched her walk back and fourth, biting her nails in distress, and just generally being weird and all 'grown up'.
"Mama? Why're you walking around like that? Did I do something wrong?" Saki asked carefully as Kagome came to a halt and turned around to look at her daughter.
"No, Saki, you didn't do anything wrong. I'm just... too many things happened today, and I find it difficult to take it all in at once, that's all..." Kagome muttered, and picked up her daughter, finding closure in her daughter's warmth.
"Mama... are you still mad at me for earlier?" Saki asked carefully as she wrapped her arms around her mother's neck.
"...yes, Saki, I'm still mad that you just took off like that without saying a thing to anyone. Shippou-chan is at fault too for not keeping an eye on you like he promised me, but still... I was so worried!" Kagome whispered as tears ran down her cheeks, and she buried her face in Saki's ink black hair.
"Sorry Mama... I won't do this ever again, I promise!" Saki whispered as she clutched her mother as close as possible.
'I really am sorry, Mama...'
Yeah, kinda short and depressing but I found some time in between study-sessions to write this... have a good weekend everyone!
