Toshiro's/ Hyorinmaru's thoughts
Chap 14
"I still don't get it. How do you guys know that it's morning?! It still looks like dark night to me!" Ichigo exclaimed. The shinigami and arrancar were just about to set off for Katsuro's hideout.
"Thrust me. When you live here ever since the day you are created, you're bound to learn a thing or two." Icarus commented.
"Enough talk. Come onboard the Bawabawa express! We'll get there in about an hour's time." Nel, in her baby form exclaimed from the top of her pet eel's head. Before getting on the giant eel, Kurara stopped halfway and turned towards the hills.
"Zero-sama? What's the matter?" Ruko asked.
"Everyone, stay here. I'll be back soon." Kurara instructed, walking towards the hills. Before Ichigo could complain, he saw what was happening. Out from the mist of sand and dust, a huge army of arrancars and hollows were coming towards them. Soon, the leader and Kurara stood before each other.
"Zero-samaaa." It hissed. It was like a huge snake, with a huge bone helmet and an amour of bones which covered its back. "I would have never thhhought thhhat our leader would turn her back and join thhhe enemiesss. Looksss like Lord Aizen made a missstake." It hissed.
"Shut up you fool. First of all, Aizen was a fool. He didn't even know that he did not fully grasp the power of the Hogyoku. I refuse to call him Lord. Second, since the fool is dead, I'll be taking control of what happens around here and I choose to assist the shinigami. After all, they are much stronger than that fool you call a leader. Now go back to where you came from, you all are not needed here." Kurara said calmly as she headed back to the group. This caused a very dark aura to emit around the hollows.
"How daaare you! You are a traitooor!" the leader hissed furiously.
"I'm not a traitor. I just don't want to be associated to a bunch weaklings like you all." Once Kurara finished her sentence, the large snake shot towards her, opening its mouth to reveal its huge fangs. But, in one second, Kurara finally unsheathed her zanpakto, revealing a sharp clear blade of silver metal which sliced the huge snake into half. What remained of it, turned into ash. The other arrancars and hollows went berserk and went in to attack the espada in every direction. However, Kurara kept her cool and continued to slash the hollows, one by one, without so much as a scratch. Ichigo and the other shinigami could only stare in utter amazement at how graceful her movements were, not showing a bead of sweat on her face. Suddenly Ichigo saw a bunch of arrancars about to launch a giant red cero at her.
"Hey! Look out!" Ichigo was about to unsheathe Zangetsu and jump into the fight when Icarus pulled him back in. "What are you doing?! She's gonna get killed!" Ichigo screamed.
"Who do you think she is?! She's espada number 0, Aizen's secret weapon." Icarus calmly reminded and looked up to watch his leader finish the job. Kurara finally noticed the cero and put her zanpakto horizontally across her face, with one hand on the hilt and the other on the flat side of the blade. Soon the cero was unleashed and went straight for her.
"Absorb, Mira no Seijin." The cero was then absorbed by the blade, making it glow faint red. "Reflect." Kurara then slashed the blade through the air, creating a much huger cero which burned the remaining hollows to crisp. All the scraps of hollows soon turned into ash and were carried away by the wind.
"What…What just…" Ichigo stammered.
"Mira no Seijin, also known as Saint of the Mirror, Zero-sama's zanpakto. It is the only zanpakto known to have only two moves, absorb and reflect. Absorb takes in the coming attack which can be used as a defense, and Reflect unleashes that attack but with double the power thanks to Zero-sama's Hogyoku. It is said to be one of the most powerful zanpakto ever known." Icarus explained.
"Pathetic." Kurara muttered and headed back to the group. "Nel, take us to the hideout." Kurara instructed and they headed their way.
Man, if Aizen used her during the war, I don't think we would have ever made it.
That's the first I'm hearing you doubt yourself, Master. Of course there were the times when you doubted that Karin would never…
Shut up Hyorinmaru!
"We should be reaching there soon. Everyone get some rest, we're going to need it very soon." Nel suggested as she curled up into a ball and slept on Bawabawa's head. The rest of them agreed and started to take a nap. Their final battle was about to happen.
In the Hideout:
"They're coming this way. About half an hour till they get here." Mami reported in.
"Wow, that's fast even for them!" Akihiro commented as he practiced his punches on his punching bag. "So what's the plan?" he turned to Katsuro.
"We just fight whoever we get. Whatever the case, remember to take the Ice blade. Also, do not touch our dear Zero-sama. I have special plans for her." Katsuro instructed before walking out of the room.
"Hey Mami, heard that one of them is you know who." Akihiro said.
"Yeah, well it doesn't bother me." Mami then flew off to the roof top. Looking out to the hills, she remembered soaring the skies with another arrancar. They were really close to each other, close to be siblings. He taught her everything she needed to know about the sky and flight. If only he could have followed her here instead of with them. That boy, was Icarus.
In a Hollow room:
Katsuro slowly walked down the steps, approaching a rather large door. He opened the door, revealing a giant pedestal with five circles surrounding it on the ground. On the pedestal was a big keyhole.
"Soon, we will have all the elements we'll need, including the key. If only they would hurry up, I can't wait for the show to begin." Katsuro said and left the room.
Outside:
"Wake up! Ichigo. WAKE UP!" a loud clang burst into the air, waking the lights out of Ichigo.
"What the hell was that for?!" Ichigo screamed.
"It's your own damn fault for not waking up." Icarus commented. Apparently, he a large bone he found on the road and knocked it against Ichigo's head.
"Icarus, don't you think it would be better that Ichigo is fully well before we start the fight?" Ruko stammered, looking at the large bruise.
"Hey, a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do." Icarus simply answered. "Besides, we're already here." Soon, a large white castle came into view, Katsuro's hideout.
"Ok, so everyone knows the plan?" Kurara asked and all nodded. "Right then, just stay with your team and opponent. Only leave when one of us needs the help."
"And how are we supposed to know if someone's in trouble?" Ichigo asked. Then Kurara took three round bone capsules and handed them to the shinigami.
"Put these on any part of your clothing. It will send a wave of energy to the rest if its holder is in a critical condition." Kurara stated. After that, all of them placed it on and got ready to take off.
The Final Battle for Freedom was about to take place.
