Chapter 14: Training
Shadow: Mirror, mirror on the wall which fanfiction has a training hall?
Katara: What?
Shadow: It's the intro just start the theme song.
Dani: We don't have a theme song.
Jake: This is a fanfiction. Something that people read yo. You can't have a theme song with this.
Shadow: Use your imagination you idiot! Welcome back mortals to Phantom Interdimensional: Spirit Bender. However before we can continue, we need a brief recap so Katara if you please.
Katara: Okay. Last time we had a short chapter where Danny made a revelation and the team split up to satisfy two goals. Now Danny, Dani and I, Jake, Azula and Haley, Aang, Onji and Jinora are on our way to Ba Sing Se but I can tell by this chapter's name we're not there just yet.
Shadow: Nope. Now we can continue with the story. Oh and by the way readers I would just like to remind everyone that in this story Dani is coloured since she is the clone/daughter of Danny and Katara.
Dani: I keep on forgetting that.

It had been a few hours since they had left the ship and it was now mid-afternoon and Appa was getting tired so they then set down in a small little valley that was surrounded by hills and had a small lake that was right next to a small forest.
"Ah it feels so good traveling to save the world again." Katara said as she hopped off of Appa. "Don't you agree Aang?"
"Yeah it defiantly does." Aang said before he hopped off Appa's head.
"I'm guess you guys did this a lot?" Dani asked.
Katara nodded. "Traveling around the world was the best part of the War for us." She said.
"I have to agree." Azula said shocking Katara and Aang. "Seeing the world while chasing you and Zuzu was exhilarating."
Danny then sighed knowing what was coming. "Three, two, one." He counted quietly.
"Wow your story sounds so interesting." Dani said with stars in her eyes. "Dad why can't we ever travel the world."
Danny rolled his eyes. "Mind you, when we first met you flew off dramatically to see the world before you returned and left again. You were able to see parts of the world I never got the luxury of seeing." Danny said. "And if I'm correct I had to watch over Amity Park and protect it from constant ghost attacks. Besides I took you to the Ghost Zone multiple times."
"Do you know how hard it is to fly off dramatically?" Dani asked.
Danny then face palmed. "Is that the only thing you got from what I said?" He asked dryly.
Dani just beamed at her father and then the next thing she knew a snowball was tossed in her face. She brushed the snow off her face and glared at her father who was floating in his ghost form as he tossed a snow ball up and down. His smirk clearly showing he wanted a challenge. Dani then transformed and threw a snowball in his direction but Danny flew away from it.
"You're too slow." He mocked with a playful grin before he shot off into the air.
"It's on now." Dani said before she shot off after her father.
"Is it me or are they immature?" Onji asked as she starred at the two Phantoms.
Before anyone answered two orange blurs sped past them. Katara, Onji and Azula then watched as Aang and Jinora had an air scooter race/ airbending battle.
Before they had a chance to fix their messed up hair Jake and Haley blasted off into the air and began shooting fire at each other.
"I guess this answers the ultimate question." Katara said. "Girls really do mature faster than boys, I mean here we have three of perhaps the most powerful people in this world and they are playing with their sidekicks."
Azula and Onji couldn't help but to agree.
Within a few minutes Danny and Dani returned but in their human forms and they were soaking wet.
"Katara, please tell me you decided to follow me and Dani and when we weren't looking you erupted a lot of water beneath us?" Danny asked.
"I've been here the whole time." Katara answered curious as to why Danny would ask that question.
"Then congratulations, you have a new student to teach waterbending too." Danny said as he pushed Dani towards her mother. "She's your problem now."
The older phantom then walked away.
Dani only smiled and nervously rubbed the back of her head as Katara stared wide eyed.
"Well then let's get started." Katara said after a brief pause.

By the time nightfall had come Katara had shown Dani a lot of techniques in Waterbending. During that time Azula also showed Haley how to lightning bend.
When the two returned they found Danny and Jake had made dinner while Onji had made a camp fire and Aang and Jinora had set up camp.
"Something smells good." Dani said.
"Well it should." Danny said. "Jake and I decided to treat you guys to our kind of food."
"Because we couldn't make a Nasty Burger or a Burger King we decided to go with the full all American barbeque." Jake said.
"And we also included healthy salads for the Ultra-Recyclo Vegetarians." Danny said as he pointed to Aang and Jinora.
"Salads for what?" Azula asked.
"It means Aang and Jinora don't eat anything with a face on it." Dani said before she looked at Danny. "I'm surprised you remember that, what with amnesia and all that."
Danny smirked. "My memory has started returning since you arrived. I can remember every detail of Fenton Works, I can give you a complete run down of all the ghosts in the Ghost Zone, I can give you a rundown of the kids at Casper high…"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, you went to a school called Casper High?" Jake asked before he burst out laughing. "Wow that coincidence."
"I know right." Danny said with a chuckle.
The others could only stare blindly.
"Danny… uh you're speaking a language none of us know." Katara said.
"Oh sorry." Danny said. "I accidently switched to English. Pretty much I said that since Dani arrived my memory has started coming back in full tilt. I assume by this time tomorrow I'll have my full memory back."
"That's great Danny." Katara said as she was about to hug Danny but then a blue wisp of cold air escaped her mouth alongside Danny's and Dani's.
"That is great Daniel."
Everyone looked up and immediately regretted it. Floating above them were a few ghosts.
"Plasmius." Danny growled.
"Oh I'm sorry Daniel. Are we interrupting?" Vlad asked with a smirk that showed off his fangs.
"I see you brought a little team." Danny said as wit filled him. "The ex, Ember, the never happening, Eclipse, the out classed, Aragon, and the hall monitor Walker, so to what do I owe the pleasure of seeing your oh so happy faces again?"
"We are here to end your life child." Aragon growled to Danny.
"Really and after everything we've been through. You just want to kill me?" Danny asked. "I thought Princess Luna Looney over there didn't want me to die so that I could become her boyfriend or something horrible like that."
"You won't die." Yue said calmly. "You and the sidekicks will be spared for use later."
"Hey who are you calling Sidekicks?" Dani asked.
Yue ignored her and focused on Danny. "Anyone here who disobeys my orders will be executed without a moment's notice." Yue said as she sent a glare in Aragon's direction making him flinch.
Danny then burst out laughing at the looks on Walker, Aragon's and Ember's faces.
"Ahh this is strangely outta character." Danny laughed. "Aragon, the most sexist oak I know, is taking orders from a girl younger than him. And what Walker, no comeback about how this is breaking the rules? Jeez you gents are whipped. For this I must applaud you Yue, you were able to turn the (AU: cue sarcasm right here) big scary dragon and the big scary warden into a pet and a mall cop."
"What about you Ember?" Dani mocked. "What do you get outta this?"
Ember tried to say anything but was silenced by a glare from Yue.
"Welcome to my world." Vlad muttered silently to his adopted daughter but Yue silenced him as well.
Danny could see a mix of pride, mortal terror and anger in Vlad's eyes but most of it was pride.
"If you think my forces aren't effective enough beloved, I have no problem in giving you a better challenge." Yue said. "She then clicked her fingers and more enemies appeared around them, including Yakone, Hama, Kenji, the rogue benders, and dark spirits."
"Hm, all these people and only nine of us." Danny noted. "The fight seems unfair. You're gonna need more than that."
Vlad laughed from above. "Whatever you say Daniel. Now I would love to stay and watch this massacre but I have business to attend to." Vlad said. "Yue, you can take care of everything here am I right?"
"Yes father." Yue said with a smirk.
She believed she would be confident and that this would be her moment of triumph. She was left in charge of this army and they would take care of the rest of the nuisance. She would kill Katara, marry Danny and have Dani as her daughter. She would have the family she once desired to have when she was mortal and weak.
Vlad smiled before he waved his cape and vanished in a pink swirl of energy.
"Attack." And with that one word the army surged in on the nine heroes.
As they came in the heroes just stood and for a second everything paused around them as they smirked.
"Going Ghost." Danny and Dani yelled.
"Dragon Up." Jake and Haley yelled.
Danny then did a back flip and a silvery white ring appeared in the middle of his body in a vertical position. It then split and went side-ways turning his raven black hair snow white and his icy blue eyes ghostly green. His white and red shirt, his blue jeans and his red sneakers all changed into a black flexible hazmat combat armour with a white DP symbol in the middle. There was also a white utility belt, silver metal gauntlets, white boots and a white cape on the outfit. (AU: If you can't imagine it, combine Batman, Superman and Danny Phantom). He then landed as Danny Phantom.
Dani also did a back flip as twin white rings then appeared on her waist before they spilt and travelled up and down her body changing her raven black hair snow white and her icy blue eyes ghostly green. Her blue hoodie and white shirt changed into a half black, half white flexible combat hazmat armour top, with a white DP symbol, that was cut short and exposed her midriff. Her red shorts turned into a black skirt made of the same material as her top and her blue sneakers became white knee length boots. She also had one black metal gauntlet glove and one silver metal gauntlet glove, a white cape and a hidden backpack that served as her utility belt. (AU: if you can't imagine it, combine Batgirl, Supergirl and Dani Phantom… whoa serious Déjà vu don't you think). She then landed as Dani Phantom.
A small tornado of fire then curved up from under Jake and surrounded his body. The flames then shaped into the form of a dragon. The flames then vanished and there was a 6.55 foot dragon standing in the place that was formally occupied by Jake. The Dragon had a red scaled body and a yellow scaled belly. It had five sharp black spikes that curved back. Then it had black and green mini spikes trailing down its back and ending on its tail that had black sharp spike projectiles that could be shot off at any time. The Dragon was also in black armour that created three spikes on its arm and protected its torso.
A tornado of fire formed bellow Haley and swept over her body and went pretty high. The flames then shaped into the form of a dragon. The flames then vanished and there was a 4 foot dragon standing in the place that was formally occupied by Haley. The Dragon had a purple scaled body and a pink scaled belly. She had three sharp black spikes that curved back. Then she had black and purple mini spikes trailing down her back and ending on its tail that had black sharp spike projectiles that could be shot off at any time. The Dragon was also in Blue armour that had a gauntlet on her arm and protected her torso.
An explosion of energy then exploded out from the centre pushing the enemies back leaving the heroes unscathed.
Phantom then flew straight to Eclipse to take her on while Dani Phantom flew to Ember and took her on. Katara then focused on Hama and Yakone and went straight for them.
The American Dragon flew towards the Dark Dragon with the intention of battling the ghost dragon while the pink dragon went after the Rogue spirits. Azula then found herself taking on her evil cousin Kenji.
Avatar Aang immediately went for Walker eager to test his abilities against a ghost while Jinora and Onji took it upon themselves to handle the rouge benders.
"We really must stop meeting like this beloved." Eclipse said as she avoided a few ecto blasts. She then retaliated by sending her own purple ecto blasts.
Phantom created an Ecto shield to block the attacks before he threw and ecto disk towards the former princess.
"Jeez when will you learn there is no us? So please stop calling me beloved." Phantom said. "Either way I have a girlfriend and I don't think she would be happy with the way you're trying to get me to dump her."
Eclipse avoided the ecto disk before she created an ecto water whip and whipped it towards Phantom who merely froze the whip and shattered it with his fist.
Phantom then teleported behind Eclipse and fired an ecto blast into her back.
Eclipse whipped around and focused on the younger halfa. She then fired multiple ecto blasts at Phantom but all missed their mark.
"Sloppy, very sloppy." Phantom mocked. "This is why I never accepted Vlad as a mentor; all he has taught you is how to make ecto blasts. Where's the creativity, the passion, the will to attack with skill swag and spirit?"
Despite Eclipse being trained by Plasmius who was really powerful and having the potential to be powerful, she was still young in the terms of being a ghost and when she first got her abilities when she became a halfa and lost the title of Moon Spirit she tried to supress them and not use them; so in truth her powers weren't very developed and by the look of it neither were her skills.
Phantom understood why this was so however. Eclipse was naturally a waterbender and would fight with flow and rhythm but to fight aggressively with ecto blasts was against her nature. It was a shame really. He could see her potential and how she could use it the right way but her training with Plasmius would never allow her to break that potential. Plasmius, although quite smart, would be blind to the fault of waterbending clashing with ecto blasting and would continue to train her with minimal results. Such a waist of potential…
Danny stopped mid-flight with a shocked expression.
"Oh bloody hell I sound like the fruitloop." He exclaimed. "I need to fix that. Get a cat Yue!"
The former princess was confused by this random statement and before she cared to question it she continued to attack.
Dani had found herself facing off against Ember because she understood that her Father would never allow her to fight Aragon or Walker and she was happy fighting against Ember. She was a bit of a challenge but was in her league.
Dani much like her father kept on throwing witty remarks to Ember but unlike the other enemies Ember threw them back.
Unlike the other villains Ember was on somewhat good terms with the two Phantoms. Despite the fact that she and Danny dated and broke up a while before they left on good terms and took up the job as frienemies.
Because of this both Dani and Ember didn't fight to their full potential. Ember sent sonic waves from her guitar towards the young halfa but she blocked the Attack with an ecto sphere. Dani then retaliated by firing multiple exploding ecto blasts that all detonated around Ember.
"Is that the best you got baby-dip?" Ember asked.
"No I'm full of surprises." Dani said with a cocky smirk.
She then focused on her ghostly core and her hands began to glow blue, she then blasted an ice ray towards Ember.
Ember smirked and blasted her own elemental attack, fire, at Dani and the two attacks met in the middle.
As the two attacks clashed Dani concentrated on something else. Then within a moment she disappeared in a puff of green smoke and appeared behind Ember and gave a punch to her side but as she punched her she also passed something on.
"Yes I teleported." Dani exclaimed. "Dad I was able to teleport!"
"Good next you learn duplication." Phantom said.
Phantom then appeared next to her and gave her a high five before he returned to his battle.
"Congrats baby-dip." Ember said as she pocketed the device that was handed to her. "Round two?"
"You're on." Dani said with a smirk.
The two then flew towards each other again.
Any fear Katara might have had for facing against two bloodbenders was long since forgotten. Despite the both of them having some drug that enhanced their bending to spiritual levels, Katara was still the Moon Spirit living incarnate and a master waterbender.
She was attacking so expertly that neither Yakone nor Hama could focus on bloodbending any of the others. They had a large battle with various water attacks going all over the place.
Katara had also seemed to find a sense of unity and was currently in a waterbending state of spiritual enlightenment. Her eyes glowed blue as she stood in the lake, surrounding her was a waterbending octopus that stood high. She was in the centre orchestrating the whole thing.
She could feel every single drop of water and could tell it was ready and willing to do what she pleased.
She felt a complete unity within her. Her mind, body and spirit had converged into one and joined with the Moon Spirit. Was this the sensation Aang felt when he went into the Avatar State? She wondered?
She believed so and thus she attacked the two Bloodbenders.
Jake was having a blast facing off against Aragon. He just enjoyed the fact that none of Aragon's fire based attacks could harm him and his fighting style was so old fashioned that it was hilarious. Jake found himself using a mix of Martial arts and WWE fighting to counter Aragon's fighting style. Having a ninja girlfriend who also liked to watch wrestling had so many advantages that it wasn't even funny but hilarious.
The only thing Jake had to worry about was when Aragon used a variety of Magical attacks to strengthen his abilities. He had no special resistance to magic so he had to watch himself on those attacks.
Haley found herself feeling confident facing off against the Rogue spirits. They weren't used to here dragon abilities and were only used to benders so the various attacks that she produced were more than adequate enough to handle the Dark Spirits.
The spirits however did have the greater numbers and kept on attacking vigorously. This was both a problem and a blessing for Haley because they were pretty much mindless and attacking blindly allowing for easy counters but relied of feral instincts making Haley always have to keep her guard up.
As Azula fought against Kenji she silently promised that she would buy Zuko some lavish gifts for the next few years to say sorry. Kenji was pretty much a more sane version of herself two years ago. He was power hungry, blood lusted, and a general pain in the butt. The way he fought reminded Azula of herself before the end of Sozin's Comet and because of that she was angry.
She didn't like anything that reminded her of who she once was. Kenji's only goal was to cause pain and was probably working with Eclipse and Plasmius to cause said pain to others. She could actually see him planning to betray them at the first chance he could get to attain power. She could tell she tried to do the same thing to both her father and brother.
Azula just hated that, how can a person be so low to only care about their own goals and would try to sabotage everything they worked for to gain their own goals. What kind of a person would be so interested in blood lust and power that they would discard everything that makes them human. It disgusted her.
She was then knocked back and looked at her reflection that looked back at her as if to say 'Really?'
"Well I never said I wasn't a hypocrite." Azula muttered to her reflection before she got back up and continued attacking.
Aang found the battle against Walker to be a bit rage inducing and also at some points easier than he expected. It was easy in the way that Walker wasn't too tough just intimidating and he preferred close combat as opposed to shooting ecto blasts. It was rage inducing because of Walker's ability to turn intangible and avoid some of Aang's attacks. Aang might get lucky and blast fire into the ghost or slam him with a boulder but Walker would quickly recover.
Luckily for Aang when Walker needed to hit him he would have to turn tangible and that gave him the time he needed to attack because of Walker's slight delay but at this rate it would take forever to win the battle… at least until Phantom threw something over to Aang.
"Use that enhanced Spector deflector. It will make most of your attack Ghost Proof." He yelled. "Any by the way it's a belt."
Aang then nodded happily before he placed the belt around his waist. Now the battle was several times more fair. Aang then hopped on an air scooter and went after Walker.
Onji and Jinora were faring well against the rogue benders. Because the rogues where effectively the most normal of all the groups, with no special treatment and because of this and the fact that they had never encountered an airbender or a firebender who fought like an airbender they were evenly matched.
The battle seemed neutral with no signs of anyone falling anytime soon… at least until both Yue and Dani stopped battling. Both of them felt something going on and soon the others began to notice something.
Everyone felt a great source of power radiating around them.
Danny then took notice as the clouds overhead parted and revealed the full moon as it's light shone down on the Watertribe girl.
Katara now felt perfect unity within her. The whole battle she had been feeling more and more powerful with each second. She had felt united earlier but now she felt as if all her different aspects had finally become one. There was no longer just Katara and the Moon Spirit sharing a host body but now she was Katara Spirit, one entity that lived.
Katara then found herself floating into the air slowly, all on her own. For the first time in her life she was flying without any support. Her eyes continued to glow blue as her hair became snow white. Similarly to before her outfit changed into legendary skin tight blue, white and purple Watertribe robes with a silver crescent moon shape that covered the Watertribe symbol. She also had white gloves, purple boots and a cloak that seemed to be made of water.
A wave of jealously immediately washed over Yue.
Katara then began to glow as blue energy began to pulse off of her. Danny noticed what was going to happen so he acted quickly by throwing an ecto dome around him and Dani.
Energy then exploded from Katara and everyone that wasn't good or using ecto energy was harmed.
When the bright flare of energy died down all the villains had left and Danny and Dani were still in the ecto sphere.
Katara then slumped over tiredly and returned to her natural state as she fell to the ground.
Danny then shot after her and caught her before she could hit the ground.
"Ow, what hit me?" Katara asked as she slowly regained her bearing.
"Well I guess you just experienced a whole lot of Halfa power and released it all in one go causing our enemies to flee." Danny explained.
"Was that what that was?" Katara asked with a weak smile. "I think I'm going to need a teacher to help me control this power inside me."
"I know just the guy." Danny said.
"I hope he's good." Katara said as she slumped into sleep.
"Well she's exhausted." Danny said with a chuckle. "If we compare what happened to her to what happened to me then she should be out for a few days."

From early morning the next day Danny had been forced out of bed by his girlfriend and daughter to give them both lessons. And now after two hours he was teaching them new techniques.
With Dani he was trying to teach her duplication while with Katara Danny tried to explain the energy traveling within her. Unfortunately this was about as easy as when Katara tried to explain the concept of bending to him. It was going nowhere fast.
Katara may have been rather intelligent but with Danny trying to explain ecto/spirit energy to her it just went over her head. Danny however refused to give up on Katara. Eventually she was able to barely grasp the concept of spirit energy and that was good enough for Danny.
Danny then took to training her in the arts of normal ghost abilities, the usual walking through walls, disappearing a flying and if she grasped that she would be much more unique than the other guys.
Luckily Katara was a fast learner and learnt those simple tactics easily. Dani however wasn't as lucky with learning duplication. Unfortunately their training would have to wait as everyone was ready to continue on to Ba Sing Se and they knew they would be needed there.
So with a minimal amount of training taken care of the nine heroes took off on Appa for Ba Sing Se.

Dani: This is so awesome.
Katara: I have to agree.
Jake: What's got those two so excited?
Katara: Didn't you see? I now have a teacher to teach me about being a Halfa.
Jake: So?
Dani: You really don't see how big of a deal this is, do you?
Jake: Not really.
Shadow: Okay I can see this ending out very badly for Mr Long so I'm just going to end the chapter now. Alright what will happen next? Read, Review, Favourite and Follow to Find out.
