Author's note: Thank you everyone for sticking with it! Sorry I haven't added a few more chapters but when I read through them there were a lot more errors than I remember making. I think my little kitsune might have gotten ahold of my laptop when I wasn't looking….So here is chapter 13! Read, review and enjoy!

Chapter Thirteen

"I told you not to strain yourself! Now look what you've done!" He growled and knelt beside Yuri attempting to take a look at her large wound. "I told you not to bother with me! I'm fine!" She narrowed her eyes as he lifted a brow mischievously at her, a look that was kind of growing on her for some reason.

"Oh you are?" He reached out and touched her skin just above her wounds making her flinch. "Why do you keep doing that?!" She hissed through clenched teeth, glaring up at him. He smirked and shook his head. "Because you are too damn stubborn to realize that you aren't invincible. Now lift up your clothes so I can take a look at that." Yuri balked at him and moved away from him slightly.

"I think not!" She yelped as he rolled his eyes at her. Kagome walked over to them and glared at Koga with her brown eyes and her hands on her hips. "I'll take a look if you don't mind Yuri." Koga shrugged and stood up, looking down at Yuri. "I don't see what the big deal is. We've already seen each other naked." He winked as Yuri's face turned red as Kagome's eyes widened in shock.

"It's only because he was in the wrong bath!" Yuri growled. Koga chuckled and turned his back on her. "You keep telling yourself that!" Kagome knelt down beside Yuri and took a look at her side that was already starting to heal but it was still pretty deep.

"It looks pretty clean but you are still going to have to take it easy for a couple days. And these here on your stomach just need to be cleaned up again. Your face looks fine too, most of the cuts are fixed up already and your nose stopped bleeding already."

Yuri sat still while Kagome wrapped her up and cleaned up some of the blood from her face. She barely flinched as Kagome worked on her carefully, noticing out of the corner of her eye that Koga was keeping an eye on her, totally ignoring Inuyasha who was trying to goad him into fighting. Just as Kagome was about to finish up Yuri sensed Sesshomaru standing behind her, making the hairs on her arms stand up on end.

"Back off Sesshomaru. Umi is not leaving my side no matter if it means my death." She growled, glaring dangerously behind her up at the dog demon who knelt down next to her and Umi. He was there staring coldly at first Yuri almost as if he was evaluating her very soul. "So you survived." He seemed surprised although it was difficult to tell from his manner of speaking.

"Yeah sorry to disappoint you fluffy but you can't kill me that easy." Yuri grinned darkly as she pushed aside Kagome's hands and attempted to stand on her own, only to falter again much to her dismay. "I noticed. Who are you to Umi?" He asked, looking down at a peacefully sleeping Umi who was still clutching to Yuri as if her life depended on it. Yuri looked at him in confusion, not knowing why the stoic Lord even cared to know.

"I'm her body guard. She is my Lady and it is my duty to protect her until the day that I draw my last breath." Yuri answered with a practiced tone seeing as how it was almost like she had to explain this to everyone she met recently. Sesshomaru didn't answer but his eyes shifted a little as he stared down at Umi's sleeping form. "Hn. Seems like you don't do your duty very well." Yuri growled at the demon lord but knew that there would be no way that she could take him on in her current state.

He shook his head and stood back up much to everyone's confusion. "If she dies on your watch, I will not hesitate to kill you." He walked off to his group and promptly disappeared from view. Yuri frowned in confusion after him, unsure what to make of his strange behavior in the least.

"What was that about?" Kagome asked, equally confused as to his behavior as the rest of them. "I honestly haven't the slightest idea." Yuri responded before looking down at the white bandages wrapping her torso, yet again. She was starting to tire of having to be fixed up all the time. Umi frowned in her sleep but Yuri gave her hand a comforting squeeze, slowly easing Umi's frown from her face until she was resting peacefully once again.

"Thank you Kagome." Koga said as he came to kneel beside Yuri, placing a hand on her shoulder and looking at Kagome. "Maki would kill me if she found out that Yuri had reopened her wounds on top of getting more while she was on my watch. She has become quite fond of this little vixen." Koga chuckled and ruffled Yuri's hair much like he would a child. For some reason this irritated Yuri to a degree that she hadn't thought possible.

She never got that angry when Umi did it to her but for some reason when Koga did it, it almost felt insulting. Yuri slapped away Koga's hand much to his surprise and shielded her eyes, strange feelings welling up in her chest that she couldn't explain and didn't want to understand seeing as how they had a direct line to her tears. "Yuri?" Koga asked in a concerned and confused voice but Yuri didn't want him to know that she was tearing up.

"I'm tired." She said succinctly and lay herself down next to Umi, wanting to allow the sweet embrace of sleep to wash away whatever it was that was welling up inside of her. "But Yuri-"Koga started only to be hushed by Kagome. "Let them sleep. I can't imagine the two of them have had much of that these past couple of days."
