Chapter 14

Luke POV

Luke gritted his teeth at Atlas who looked at him with disgust looks. Atlas forced him to hold the sky and if he refused, his girlfriend, Pearl will pay the price. Luke quickly agreed on this and he held the sky, it's so heavy but, for Pearl sake he will do it. But as if it not enough to make him hurt physically, Atlas hurt him mentally too. He showed the images of Pearl, with a blonde, blue eyes boy. The boy saved her life from a dracaena, Luke growled at this. He should be the one who saved her and the top of it why they hurt Pearl? And Luke had to watch the boy took care of Pearl and how he blushed when Pearl smiled. Luke wanted to tear the boy apart but he will tear Atlas first. Luke was jealous, very jealous at the blonde hair boy, Jason.

"Well, well Luke. Look at your precious girlfriend" Atlas purred.

Luke just glared at Atlas feet; he wanted to say something but the burden forced him to shut his mouth.

"I bet she will choose this guy than you. I mean looked at you" Atlas said coldly.

"Go…to…hell" Luke said slowly.

Atlas crouched down and smirked evilly at him "Been there boy. This is my hell, and now yours" Atlas stood up again "Soon your precious girlfriend will show up and try to help you" Atlas walked to the edge of mountain Tam "And soon Dr. Thorn will bring back some strong demigods"

Luke breathed heavily and he studied the ground.

"Everything will go on exactly like what he planned. Unlike you who incapable because of that little girl, I will do anything he said" Atlas said again.

Luke lifted up his head and saw Atlas already crouched and smirked at him "Soon your own girlfriend will be under that sky" Atlas laughed coldly "That's too bad actually, she's very pretty. Now I know why you like her"

Luke glared at Atlas "If you dare to touch her, I will make you hold this sky again"

Atlas laughed hard at this "Try me little boy"

-Line Break-

Luke eyes went wide when he saw Pearl manage to climb Mountain Tam and now she started to call his name. Luke had to hold the urge to drop the sky and hugged Pearl right now. Pearl stopped and she turned only to saw Luke sweating heavily and held the sky. Pearl rushed towards him and crouched.

"Luke" she whispered and touched Luke cheek.

"You shouldn't be here" Luke managed to say that.

"What? Why?" Pearl asked and she looks a little hurt.

Luke shook his head "This is a trap"

Before Pearl could say anything Atlas appeared and laughed hard. Pearl spun around and growled when she saw Atlas. Atlas looked at Pearl with amused looks and he grinned.

"Pearl!" he said and clasped his hand "What a pleasure to see you"

"Atlas!" Luke warned "Don't you dare"

Atlas shook his head in disappointment "Look at your boyfriend" Atlas said "Didn't you want to help him?"

"NO!" Luke manage to scream "Not her"

Atlas laughed at this "This is Pearl decision"

Pearl lost in thought "I…I will take the sky from Luke" she finally said.

Luke chocked "Pearl! No! Don't do it"

Pearl crouched and her hand held the sky "Luke let me. You already hold it too long" Pearl said and looked at Luke right in the eye.

Luke shook his head "Never! I won't let you do it!" Luke insisted.

"Let it go boy" Atlas growled "Let it go or I hurt her in the way you cannot imagine"

Luke shut his eyes tightly; a single tear escaped his eye. Luke gingerly let Pearl held the sky, Luke rolled to the side and he breathed heavily. He crouched and he stroke Pearl cheek gently.

"I'm sorry" he croaked "I couldn't even protect you from this"

Pearl shook her head "It's not your fault" Pearl smiled "As long as you save that's enough for me"

Luke fist curled up into a fist "I promise this is will be over quickly. Just hold on okay"

Pearl nodded weakly and Luke stood up. He dusted his jeans and glared icily towards Atlas.

"You better bring that demigod fast, or I'll kill you" Luke growled.

Atlas just looked at him with amused looks "Just relax Luke. Dr. Thorn will come soon and will bring that demigod"

Luke scoffed "He better be"

Atlas just smirked evilly and leaved Luke alone. Luke ran his hand through his messy blonde hair, this is nuts, he thought. Pearl shouldn't be involved in any of this affair; she's been through a lot just because of him. And Luke felt guilty too he didn't tell Pearl about Kronos grand plan; Kronos will used his body to destroy Olympus. He scared, he afraid when he told that to Pearl, she will hate him, or worse Kronos will use his body to hurt Pearl even more. Luke walked towards Pearl and he crouched again. Pearl already drenched in sweat and she breathed heavily. Luke frowned at this and his fist curled up into a fist, Dr. Thorn better be quick or I'll make him hold this sky, Luke thought.

Annabeth POV

Annabeth opened her eyes slowly and she tried to stand up. She looked around nervously and she tried to think where Dr. Thorn brought her. Last time she remembered she tried to save her Seaweed Brain, Percy from Dr. Thorn by rode on Dr. Thorn. But unfortunately the hunters and Artemis decided to but in and shoot Dr. Thorn with her on Dr. Thorn back, and Dr. Thorn fell into the ocean with her still on his back.

"Dr. Thorn!" Annabeth called "Why you bring me here?"

Nobody answered, Annabeth huffed and she walked around tried to find Dr. Thorn or maybe a way out from here. She worried about Percy, maybe now Percy freaking out and tried to save her, but he need her in order to stay alive. Annabeth shook her head, there's still Thalia but that thought scare her. Well, Percy and Thalia aren't exactly in best term, sometimes they are fight and that quite scary view, with Lighting bolt surround Thalia and water swirled around Percy. Trust her the last time they fought, the camp almost destroy in the process if only Chiron didn't decide to knock both of them unconscious. Annabeth stopped when she heard a grunt, Annabeth sneaked quietly to the source of the voice. Something bugged her, that voice sounded familiar to her. Annabeth hid behind a large rock and took a peek; her eyes went wide when she saw Pearl held something very heavy while Luke crouched right in front of her.

"Luke!" Annabeth half screamed.

Luke head snapped up, he stood up and turned. When he saw Annabeth he looked a bit surprised.

"Annabeth? What are you do…?" Luke stopped a moment before he growled "That stupid, incapable of Manticore"

"What are you doing to Pearl?!" Annabeth snapped.

Luke tilted his head "Huh, you won't believe me for what I say"

Annabeth crossed her arms "Let her go"

Luke laughed "And let the sky crushed the earth?"

"You make Pearl hold the sky! How could you?!" Annabeth screamed and she stalked towards Luke "She's loved you, she's trusted you even you always hurt her!"

Luke just looked at Annabeth with unreadable looks "So?"

"So?! Why are you kept hurting her?" Annabeth really screamed now.

"Because if I can't have her, so the god or any of you can't have her too" Luke stated coldly.

"You!" Annabeth jabbed her finger at Luke chest "I can't believe you turned so evil Luke."

Luke just smirked "Are you going to bore me to death or helped her?" he asked and pointed at Pearl who grunted from the weight from the sky.

"Annabeth…no…" Pearl managed to say that.

Annabeth quickly ran to Pearl side and she held the sky with Pearl "Let me help you" Annabeth grunted.

Pearl shook her head "No, Percy will kill me if I let you do this"

Annabeth glared at Pearl "Percy will kill himself if his sister died"

Pearl frowned weakly "Annabeth let it go" Pearl bit her lips hard "I cannot let you do this. I cannot see my friends suffer because of me"

Annabeth sent an icy glare to Pearl "Forget your fatal flaw. I can't let you die either, you're my friend too"

Pearl tore her gaze from Annabeth "Together?" She asked.

Annabeth nodded and they held the sky together, Luke just looked at them with amused looks. Annabeth gritted her teeth at this; she really wanted to kill Luke for doing it. And from the inside Annabeth hoped that Percy will come sooner and helped them.

-Line Break-

It's almost 1 week maybe more for Annabeth. Her back protested from the sky that she and Pearl held together. Annabeth could saw few grey streaks on Pearl hair, a memento from holding the sky. Annabeth bet she had the grey streak too. Luke constantly came and checked on them, well mainly Pearl, from how they interacted Annabeth guessed Luke still loved Pearl too. But looks like their condition forced them to pretend. The look from Luke eye couldn't lie, Annabeth caught him stared at Pearl with love and longing. But until one day Annabeth could hear a cursed from Ancient Greek and somebody being pushed and fell on the ground. Annabeth narrowed her eyes and saw a pair of feet and golden blood, Ichor.

"Welcome to my humble castle" Atlas said.

"You!" the voice Annabeth guessed a girl "How dare you!" the girl spat.

"Don't be like that Artemis" Atlas said again "You better save your anger, beside I have a surprise for you" Atlas pointed at Annabeth.

Artemis eyes went wide at this "How could you torture a maiden like that?" she growled

"Ah you missed one girl" Atlas said casually.

Luke came and he grabbed Pearl hand, forcefully he pulled her and let Annabeth held the sky alone. Annabeth grunted when the sky began to push her down. Annabeth could saw Artemis eyes went wide when she saw Pearl, well after all Pearl is her favorite champion.

"How dare you hurt my champion like this?" she growled "And how dare you touched her boy!" Artemis spat at Luke.

Luke smirked as he pulled Pearl closer "She's mine"

Before Artemis could retort Atlas clasped his hand "Are you going to fight him? Or save the girl who hold the sky?"

Artemis growled at this but she quickly helped Annabeth with the sky. Annabeth fell on ground and panted hard. Annabeth blinked her eyes when black spot started to dance around her eyes. Suddenly a white hair boy with red eye grabbed her arms and forced her to stand up. Rex, Annabeth thought, she let Rex guided her away from the sky. Rex pushed Annabeth on the ground, forced her to sit down as he began to tie Annabeth hand behind her back. Annabeth looked at Pearl who still in Luke hand, Pearl looked about to pass out anytime. Luke wrapped his arm around Pearl waist and picked her up bridal style and gone with her. Annabeth struggled, tried to free herself. She had to save Pearl, only god knew what Luke is going to do with Pearl. But Rex crouched in front of her and smirked.

"Ah, ah, ah" he wagged his point finger in front of Annabeth "Not this time blondie"

"I have a name!" Annabeth spat "it's Annabeth Chase"

"Wow, you're a feisty one" Rex said sounded surprised "But, actually you have to sleep"

After that Rex touched Annabeth forehead and made her go asleep right away.

'Percy!' Annabeth called her boyfriend name before she lost her unconsciousness.

Percy POV

"Ares!" Percy growled when he saw Ares got down from the limousine. Even Thalia already activated her favorite shield Aegis and made Grover, Bianca and Zoe stepped back.

"Now, now, now" Ares snapped his finger and Percy sword back into a pen and Thalia shield back into a bracelet. "I'm here not to fight even I wanted to, but my girlfriend here want to talk to you" then Ares looked at Percy with hatred "Especially you Prissy, she wanted to talk to you"

Thalia stepped forward "Percy will not talk to any god today."

Ares glared at the Zeus daughter "Shut up sis!" Ares growled, Thalia flinched when she heard Ares called her sis.

Percy waved his hand "It's okay. I'll talk to your girlfriend. Even I wonder myself what kind of woman who wanted to go out with you" Percy narrowed his eye at Ares.

Ares glared at Percy "Watch your mouth boy, she has a very delicate feeling" and he opened the door.

Percy entered the car and he lost his tongue when he entered the car. He saw Annabeth, well a grown up version of Annabeth, but she looks like his mom too, when Percy blinked he saw Pearl in grown up version too. Then Percy shook his head, he eyes playing tricks in him. When he opened his eye again, he saw Aphrodite the goddess of Love beamed at him.

"Percy" she squealed.

"Ah, yes" Percy answered "Lady Aphrodite, what can I do for you?"

Aphrodite looked at Percy with eyes full of interest "How about you and Annabeth?"

"Uh, we're fine really. Sometime we fight but actually we're fine" Percy answered.

"Oh yeah, I want to talk about a few things with you" Aphrodite said and took a huge mirror "Hold that for me would you"

Percy gingerly held the mirror and saw Aphrodite use lipstick on her perfect lips "First it's about your sister also my champion"

"Pearl?" Percy sounded unsure.

Aphrodite rolled her eyes "Who else?"

Percy blushed at this and he cleared his throat "What about her?"

"It's about her and Luke" Aphrodite answered.

Percy almost dropped the mirror; he gripped the mirror tightly and made his knuckle when white "What about Pearl and him?" Percy snapped.

Aphrodite stopped wearing mascara and looked at Percy as if he just stole a candy "Aw don't be like that about them. They are wonderful couple and their love life is so epic, so epic that it can beat Romeo and Juliet also Helen and Paris story"

"Er, aren't in that story both of them die?" Percy raised his eyebrows.

Aphrodite scoffed "I'm not taking that part. I'm talking about their love, Forbidden love" Aphrodite talked excitedly.

"Forbidden love? Yeah, right" Percy murmured.

"Don't think badly about Luke. He mean well" Aphrodite said "Oh, and put down the mirror I'm look perfect"

Percy put down the mirror and he glanced at Aphrodite direction "What are you talking about? He betray us and he hurt Pearl constantly"

Aphrodite waved her hand "Nah, he loved her alright. Well, loved your sister more than his life" Aphrodite beamed at Percy again "But, he don't have another choice. Kronos threatened him that if he walked out from his ugly army, he will hurt Pearl"

Percy felt like somebody just slapped him hard "What? Are you saying that Luke is pretend to be like that?"

Aphrodite nodded "Yes. Isn't he sweet? Even Kronos sometimes torture him to forget about Pearl or tell him to kill her, Luke always refuses and gave him bright idea and make Kronos forget about Pearl for some time"

Percy rubbed his forehead "Why are you telling me this? Especially now"

Aphrodite shrugged her shoulder "When the time comes you will understand. Pearl love life, she will go through something horrible after this, as much as I want to help her to have a very interesting love life, her fate is not in my hand"

Percy blinked at this "What do you mean?"

Aphrodite winked at Percy and made him blushed madly "You will found out soon enough. And please helped her when the times come"

Percy just nodded "Er okay"

Aphrodite laughed at this "And I want to talk about you and Annabeth"

Percy blushed at this "What about us?"

Aphrodite looked at Percy carefully "She is the reason for you to join this quest right"

"Yes, but rescue Artemis is more important" Percy said.

"Aw, forget about her. She doesn't even know what a true love is" Aphrodite waved her hand.

"But, she kidnapped while hunt down some monster, a monster that can destroy Olympus" Percy protested.

"She's and her hunt" Aphrodite said in disgust "Just forget about it. I'm here not to talk about her and her boring eternal maiden club. I'm talking about you and Annabeth"

Percy studied his feet "Honestly, yes. I join this quest because of her. I lost her and I'm going to get here back no matter what the cost"

Aphrodite squalled at this "Aw, you're so adorable. Make me want to mess with your love life"

"No, don't do it" Percy almost begged.

"Oh by the way" Aphrodite took a mirror again and gave to Percy "I almost forgot, here look at this"

Percy accepted the mirror gingerly, Aphrodite snapped her finger and Percy saw an image of Pearl from she ran from home, get attacked by a group of hellhound and dracaena, a blonde boy helped her and take care of her until she get heal completely, Pearl went to some kind of Mountain and meet Luke who held the sky, Pearl holding the sky, Annabeth came in and helped her holding the sky, until Artemis came and Luke dragged Pearl away, while he let Artemis the goddess of the moon held the sky. Percy almost smashed the mirror, his hand trembled so badly.

"Did this really happen to Pearl?" Percy asked; his voice trembled.

Aphrodite nodded "That's right"

"Then all of my dreams is real" Percy shook his head "Why are you telling me this?" Percy eyes flashed in anger.

Aphrodite just sighed "I just showed your sister other side. Can't you see? She's willing to give anything, to Luke"

Percy frowned "And? I believe that's more than that?"

The thunder strike, Aphrodite flinched "It's not my right to tell you about it. Hera will take away all my make ups, design clothes and my perfume, worse she will banned me to mess with someone love life"

Percy put his palm-face; he couldn't believe the goddess of Love who sat in front of him.

"Oh, by the way Pearl and Annabeth they are in San Francisco. And about the mountain just asked that Lieutenant of Artemis. And oh, one more thing, be careful in my husband territory." Aphrodite said and polished her nail with nail-polish.

Before Percy could say anything Ares opened the door and pulled him by the collar. Ares just dropped him in the ground; Percy blinked his eyes disbelieved as the limousine disappeared. Percy stood up and dusted his jeans, Grover, Thalia, Zoe, and Bianca came and looked at him with curiosity.

"What did she said to thee?" Zoe asked

"Er, where we can find Artemis" Percy hesitated a bit "In San Francisco, in some mountain"

Zoe paled slightly "Are thee sure?"

Percy tilted his head "Aphrodite said so. And my sister in there too"

Grover chewed his shirt "Pearl? How can she in there?"

Thalia blinked her eyes "Pearl? I never heard of her"

Zoe gave Thalia cold looks "Pearl is my lady champion. I just saw her once; she's a very good girl and great fighter, unfortunately she refuses to join the hunt"

"The point is" Percy cut in before Thalia could zap Zoe "She's my sister, daughter of Amphitrite, Poseidon adopted child, and the champion of all the Goddess in Olympus"

Thalia jaw dropped to the ground "Including Hera?" thunder clapped somewhere "I thought she hated demigod"

"Pearl is special case, she born because er…"Percy hesitate a bit "Because my dad neglected her mom, so I think Hera understand why Amphitrite decided to have Pearl"

"She's pretty, very pretty" Grover add "And strong too"

"She's Luke girl…."Percy shut his mouth immediately and he cursed himself for opening his big mouth.

"She's Luke girlfriend?" Thalia almost screamed her head out.

"I don't know. I had this nagging feeling that they still loved each other, even after Luke betrayed us" Percy grumbled.

Thalia grabbed Percy collar "He's not betraying us! He must be had a reason!"

"Thalia you don't know what he had done! He almost killed Pearl, he poisoned your tree, and I just saw her holding the sky while she trying to save Luke." Percy pushed Thalia away.

Thalia blinked "Holding the sky? Isn't that Atlas job?"

Zoe face turned white as a sheet "Impossible, nobody can do that, or strong enough to do that"

"Apparently, Pearl is strong enough to hold the sky." Percy studied Zoe "My girlfriend Annabeth in there to, she helped Pearl to hold the sky together. Until…."Percy fell silent.

"Until what Perseus Jackson?" Zoe asked.

Percy cleared his throat "Artemis came and Atlas made her to hold the sky"

Bianca eyes went wide while Zoe almost fainted when she heard this. Zoe gripped her bow tightly and made Percy afraid that Zoe will snap her bow into two.

"We have to hurry and save my lady" Zoe gritted her teeth.

"Don't forget about my sister and Annabeth too" Percy reminded her.

"Anything else Percy?" Bianca asked.

"Aphrodite warned us to be careful on Hephaestus territory" Percy said.

Jason POV

Jason stuffed his clothes inside his bag and he closed his bag. He sighed; today he had to come back to camp Jupiter. His shift is ended and someone else will come and replace him. Jason sat down on the bed and he thought about Pearl. Is she safe now? Did she manage to safe her boyfriend? He thought. Suddenly a bright light came down and a woman stood proudly in front of him. Jason eyes went wide at this and he quickly bowed down.

"Lady Juno" Jason said respectfully "Can I help you?"

Juno just looked at Jason with unreadable looks "I have something to talk about"

Jason stood up and looked at Juno "What is it my lady?"

Juno shrunk into normal size and sat on a chair "It's about Pearl"

When Juno said that name Jason could saw her form flickered into someone completely different. But, Jason couldn't deny the fact that he blushed when Juno said that name.

"What about her?" Jason asked.

Juno looked at Jason with cold looks "You should never she again"

Jason eyes went wide "But why? She's a demigod and my friend"

Juno eyeing Jason "She's different."

Jason ran his hand through his blonde hair "Different like what? She seems like a normal demigod to me"

Juno fell silent for a minute "Fine, I'll tell you. But you must swear on the river Styx that you will never told anybody about this until I said so"

"I swear on the River Styx that I will never tell anyone until you allow me to tell it" Jason said and the thunder boomed outside even though the sky is clear.

Juno form flickered to a woman with chocolate and white dress "I'm Hera, a Greek goddess"

Jason jaw dropped to the ground "Greek?" he sound confused.

"I have two form" Hera said "My Greek form. And Roman form" Hera flickered to Juno again.

"And what is the connection with Pearl?" Jason asked.

"She's a Greek demigod. Amphitrite daughter, adopted daughter of Poseidon, and the champion of all the goddess in Olympus." Hera said.

Jason sat there lost in his own thought, Hera looked at this and she sighed in annoyance.

"You never know about their existence. The god decided to separate you and wiped your memory about their existence. Because the last time, the Roman demigod and Greek demigod make a civil war" Hera explained.

"What do you mean?" Jason asked started to get annoyed.

Hera looked at Jason with disbelieved looks "Do you hear what I said?"

"Yeah, Pearl is a Greek demigod. And? Do you think I will kill her" Jason said.

Then something came to Hera mind "Do you loved her?"

Jason blushed and avoided Hera accusing gaze.

"You walked on a thin ice Jason" Hera warned "If you messed up there will be a second civil war"

Jason pursed his lips "I won't hurt her"

Hera looked at Jason one last time and disappeared in a flash of light. Jason sighed and rubbed his forehead. So Pearl is a Greek demigod, and he loved her. What a mess, Jason thought. Hera or Juno whatever is right, I walked on a thin ice right now; just one wrong step will cause a huge mess, a possible second civil war. Beside right now he silently declared a war with Pearl boyfriend, just to love Pearl. But Jason didn't care who Pearl is, or who is her parentage or the fact that all of the Greek goddess blessed, he just loved her, simple. Jason dug his pocket and he looked at a paper, on that paper Pearl wrote her phone number. Just in case if he needs help, and of course Jason gave his number too. Jason sighed and looked at the window. He leaned on the wall and ran his hand toward his hair again; it will be hard to contact her again. She's a Greek, and all the goddess of Olympus blessed her. Hurt her, and he will be killed by all the goddess of Olympus. But, Jason promised himself that he wouldn't hurt her

"Pearl" he murmured "I hope you're okay"

Pearl POV

Pearl opened her eyes gingerly; she could felt all of her body hurt. She groaned when she tried to sit, but a pair of hand pushed her gently to the bed. Pearl saw a pair of blue eyes and blonde hair. Pearl blinked tried to focus.

"Jason?" she asked.

"No, it's me Luke"

Pearl eyes went wide when she saw Luke hovering above her. She cursed herself, great now I cannot tell the difference between Luke and Jason, Pearl thought. Luke studied Pearl carefully; Pearl cleared her throat and looked at him.

"What I'm doing here? The last time I remembered I was holding the sky with Annabeth" Pearl lost in her own thought, but suddenly she shot up from the bed ignoring the pain "Annabeth?! Where're is she?"

Luke pushed her again "She's okay, she's with Rex"

Pearl glared at Luke "That's not okay! Anything with Rex is bad!"

Luke lips twitched into tiny smile "Relax, Rex won't do anything to her. She's not his type"

Pearl punched Luke shoulder hard "That's not what I mean"

Luke laughed and sat on bed "More important issue, are you okay?"

"Peachy" Pearl answered sarcastically.

"Huh?" Luke tilted his head.

Pearl rolled her eyes "I just held the sky, what do you think?"

Luke avoided Pearl blue-sea eyes "I'm sorry"

Pearl felt guilty for snapping at Luke "I'm just glad that you're okay"

Luke took a glanced at Pearl "Jason" he murmured.

Pearl looked away from Luke when Luke said that name "What about him?" she asked.

"I hate him" Luke growled.

"Hey, he saved my life." Pearl protested.

Luke curled his finger into a fist "That's why I hate him! I hate him because he can help you, and he always makes you laughed. Unlike me, all I can do is hurt you"

Pearl took Luke hand and squeezed it gently "But I choose you Luke. If I choose Jason, I wouldn't be here"

Luke smiled a bit "But I hate him when he looked at you with longing looks. I think he already fall for you too Pearl"

Luke leaned closer and he kissed Pearl gently, Pearl wrapped her hand on Luke neck and brought him closer.

"Don't leave me please" Pearl whispered.

Luke flinched when he heard this "I…I…" Luke shook his head "I can't promise you that, but I will try"

Pearl snuggled towards Luke and rested her head on his chest "Thank you, that's make me feel better"

Luke stroke her hair gently "I'm sorry"

Pearl nodded "It's okay Luke. I forgive you for everything"
