Echoes of Mistakes

Beats of rhythms

Music notes blaring in our ears

A heart of colors

A darkness that will never fade, never falter

The pure water that is said to protect

To keep your heart locked in safe chains

As if those thought are the ones that kept us alive

As if we needed to love those thoughts with all out might

We see our futures right in front of us just there to grasp

We see ourselves running with loved ones and having a grand time

But when that time stops we are presented with our failures and mistakes

A spectrum of forgotten dreams

A cave of dark, deadly, crystal-like flowers

They bloom in dark shades of blacks, reds, purples, blues

A coffin of sins

Left to leave a horrific shadow of fear and dread

A darkened soul of emptiness

Fading memories of better moments

As the nightmares keep coming for us

Glass shards of a forgotten past

The tape that bound our mouths close to not speak up about ourselves

To not speak about our "problems"

As if they are too ugly for this world

As if once we are to talk about them we are to be taken down

As if we are the mistakes

The outcast

The losers

The forgotten ones

We were told the world was too beautiful for us

But really, we're too beautiful for this world to handle

That's why they stitch our mouths closed

So we can't speak out about how beautiful we are

We were suffocated by this pressure

Saying we couldn't be ourselves by society

Saying we had no choice on who WE were

Saying that we were the "wrong" in this world

We can't help but think they're right

We were told lies all our lives about how we were useless

How we could never do something to help another

We were the selfish ones

But they aren't true

They are simply ashes in a still blazing fire

We are alive for a reason

We were out on this Earth for a reason

We are not mistakes God tried to erase

We are the creations of God that were kept

We serve a purpose in this world

Some of us just haven't found that out yet

But we are meant to do great things

And some people do become corrupted by the devil himself

But God will always save us

And I know some don't believe he will

Or don't even believe he exists

But doesn't mean we should have any less hope for the future

The hope that we'll stand together someday

That someday there'll be no hatred and we'll be loved by someone

And I tell you now, we can't stop believing that.
