Hey! This time I was quick! =)
Thank you so much for the reviews, I love all of them!
But now... why is Arthur in Morgana's chambers so early in the morning?
Have fun! =D
Previously...
When Morgana arrived in her chambers, everything was quiet... She couldn't wait anymore to meet Uther again! However there was no sign of Uther. And there was another man standing in the middle of her chambers...
"Arthur? What are you doing here so early?" And what have you done with my Uther? She was shocked.
"Morgana? Where have you been so early?" He teased her.
Chapter 13
"I went to see Gaius... about my nightmares." She explained very naturally, trying to have an innocent face and smiled when the young man seemed to believe her.
"Yes, it looks like you had really an agitated night!" The prince said ironically looking at the messy bed and making her blush a little bit. "By the way, I'm looking for my father."
"In my chambers?" She tried to sound shocked, noticing the quick wave of surprise in his face. What a good actress she would be!
"Well, Morgana..." He took a dark lock of her hair. "It wouldn't be the first time, he comes here having this kind of intention, am I right?" He said and smirked when the lady blushed furiously. "I'm not an idiot, Morgana!"
"Arthur... I... Uther is... hum..." Lady Morgana was speechless? But what could she say? Goddess, why the boy don't go to kiss Gwen and let her just be in peace with her Uther?
"Yes? Do you know where he is?" Sounding so ironic! Oh, Arthur, you don't know, but I'm aware from some things about your love life too...
"I have no idea." She sighed. And, unfortunately, it was the truth. The lady was a bit disappointed... he was supposed to be right here! "And even if he were here, it wouldn't be any of your business." She said coldly.
"All of you are acting in such a weird way! I don't like it, Morgana... and I'll discover everything." He said angrily.
"I really doubt it." Morgana shouted back as if they were talking about the weather. "Anyway, Arthur, I don't have time for this childish conversation... Maybe you should go... hum... to prepare yourself for the championship, so I can finish what I was about to do." She said taking him to the door. "See you later, Arthur."
As the door was closed, Morgana sighed and her heart beat faster when she saw Uther appearing from behind the blind.
"Uther! Thanks goddess you're here! What have I said about you moving out the bed?" The lady was so relieved that Uther couldn't hide his smile.
"I'm so sorry, my dear..." He was amused. "But I heard Arthur knocking and the insolent boy said he was entering and... well, he couldn't see me naked in your bed, right?" Uther explained, coming to her. If Arthur accepted it better, they could just tell it, so the king could have some peace beside his ward and lover... but the boy was so stubborn!
"Uther, we should just tell it. But you're right. He couldn't see you like that." Morgana agreed. "But I demand to!" She said powerfully, glad to see fire in his gaze. Well, she needs a pleasant moment with the king... for the enchantment she had just done, of course...
"Oh, Morgana!" Uther took her and went to the bed. "Let me satisfy you, my dear..." He said just before kissing her with all his love and desire.
When Morgana and Uther arrived at the arena, arm to arm, it was already full of people, competitors and viewers.
"Please, be careful. I don't want you to get hurt." The lady said cupping his cheek when they entered in one of the empty tents around the arena.
"Always, my love." He answered looking into her eyes and kissing her softly.
"Uther... I'd like to give you my ribbon..." Morgana said taking the enchanted ribbon from her hair, which poured beautifully in her shoulders. "It'll protect you."
The king smiled. Could this girl be sweeter? He took the white ribbon, surprised to feel how soft and delicate it was... just like his dear Morgana. He smelt the scent of lavender on it, just like her hair, and kissed her ribbon, seeing her eyes melting.
"It's my honour, milady." The king said and tied it in his armour.
Suddenly, someone come in the tent, interrupting their exchange of glances.
"Father, Morgana..." Arthur! How typical! "Everything is ready to the beginning of the championship." He said noticing the delicate white ribbon tied in his father's armour. "Morgana! Have you given my father a ribbon?" He sounded shocked, but at the same time amused.
"Jealous, Arthur?" Uther answered by her.
"Of course not!" He said showing them a yellow ribbon tied firmly in his armour. Morgana smiled, recognizing it was Gwen's.
"So my boy is already a man!" Uther said amused, making Arthur a bit awkward. "Tell us, who's she?" Uther smiled, proud of his son.
"Enough, father! Or I'm going to ask some... how to say? Some embarrassing questions about the two of you." The prince smirked. If they weren't admitting their romance, he wouldn't too. Just to tease his father!
"I forbid you!" Uther warned seriously.
"About a completely messy bed... about you, father, going to Morgana's chambers in the middle of the night with flowers and... Oh! Morgana, have you just blushed?" Arthur ignored his father's warn and continued teasing them.
"Arthur, come on! How old are you? Twelve?" Morgana teased back, still very blushed. "I..." She suddenly felt something unusual. Everything was turning and moving around her! "Oh..."
The lady felt Uther's strong arms around her, so she didn't fell over the floor. What was that? A sight? Her magic?
"Morgana! Morgana, my dear! Happy, Arthur?" It was Uther's voice... so distant! "What have I said about teasing her like that?"
"I'm... sorry! I didn't think..." The prince sounded surprised and a bit guilty. When in his life would he imagine Morgana reacting like that? "I'm going to call Gaius."
Everything was still moving around her. Faster and faster. But she wasn't even a little bit afraid of that. So she saw it!
The dungeons were cold and dark. She could hear someone screaming, sounding especially scared. And... there was a little boy's voice... Kevin!
But it had already happened... sights should show the future, right?
"My father... my father... I'm alone now!" The little boy kept crying more and more, and Morgana couldn't even embrace him to give some comfort.
"Morgana?" It was Gaius' voice.
The lady noticed she was in the tent again, lying in some kind of matting on the floor. Gaius and Uther were looking worried at her. She noticed that Merlin, Gwen and Arthur were there too.
"Thanks god!" Uther embraced her relieved to see his ward awake.
Arthur felt angry to see Merlin smirk at them. Gwen, however, had a beautiful and sincere smile, which made the prince enchanted. He remembered Gwen asking him to let Morgana and his father to be happy, even if they couldn't. He held her hand, wanting to be dignified of her smile.
"What... what happened?" Morgana's voice was so weak.
"You had a quick malaise." Gaius said. "Take this." The physician gave her a little flask with a red liquid. "It'll make you feel better."
"Thank you, Gaius." She drank it, still being in Uther's arms.
Soon everybody went out to let Morgana recover from the malaise before the championship. Gaius stood with her, and had a lot of work making Uther wait outside the tent with the others for some moments.
"Gaius, I had a sight." Morgana declared promptly, as soon as they were alone, speaking low to the physician.
"I know. And it's good! It means you're accepting well your magic, so it can come while you're awake." He analysed her. "However I really don't know to explain why your sight has made you faint."
"Maybe I was nervous?" She tried.
"Yes, maybe..." The physician considered it, thoughtfully. Her emotions were a total mess during the last weeks, it was clear. But... there was something more.
"I can't lose him, Gaius." Morgana confessed seriously. "Uther is really special to me." The lady confessed, not caring about what the physician would understand or how he would receive that piece of information.
"Morgana, my child..." Gaius held her hand trying to comfort her. "He's your guardian; it's comprehensible that you care about him." Oh, he didn't get it! "Merlin and I will help you, you won't lose him."
"Please, Uther, be careful." Morgana said from the part of the arena reserved for the royalty, while her Uther was inside the arena, near to her, his gloved hand holding hers delicately.
"I promise you, my dear." He kissed her hand, his gaze always into hers, and went to the middle of the arena, with Arthur and all the other competitors.
Morgana sighed and looked at the arena full of people. It was now! Merlin was discretely standing near of the arena entrance, just like he has promised her, so he could avoid the deaths as soon as they identify the sorcerer.
"People of Camelot!" Morgana started, receiving promptly everyone's attention. "It's my great pleasure to announce the beginning of our famous championship! It only takes place every ten years, and the unique rule is: there's no rule! I'd like to wish all the competitors a good luck, especially to our actual champion, King Uther!"
Uther received the greetings from all his people. However his eyes were glazed over his ward. So gorgeous, sounding so powerful and so sweet at the same time... Morgana noticed it. And only Uther's glances were making her feels hot.
"The fights begin!" Morgana declared.
So it started. She watched lots of fights... some of them more interesting, some boring and some of them really quick. Arthur's fight was a good example. It was against a man much bigger than him, who didn't know how to fight well. He was slow, and Arthur easily beat him in few minutes. She noticed Gwen sighing in relief and smiled. They really love each other. And the lady was very happy for them.
The next one to enter the arena was Uther. He was so handsome! In his armour and his red cloak... oh, and her ribbon! So sweet! The other man, however, was totally the opposite. He had old clothes and very mishandled armour. And... what terrible! He had an eye patch! And a piece of his ear was missing! Just like she saw in her nightmare!
Uther made a respectful bow to his lady, making her smile. So the fight begun! Morgana tried to relax, since she already saw Uther would be fine. However, she was a bit tense... in this kind of fight, anything can happen, right? The man was good with the sword, but Uther was faster and disarmed him. It soon ended; Uther took his helmet off, receiving the greetings from his people. Morgana smiled and sighed, much calmer now.
Everything was fine until the last fight. The people was excited, the day was sunny... However Morgana was already tired of being there watching all those fights, she just wanted to take a bath and embrace her Uther. But it was the last fight of the first day! The one in which the sorcerer would compete against Kevin's father and, according to her sight, beat him. The lady looked at the arena entrance, seeing Merlin, looking at her. The boy was clearly tired too, but he made a knowing sign with his head, showing her that he was prepared to face the sorcerer. Would he be able to save the poor man?
The fight hadn't anything unusual, apart from the sorcerer fighting without any sword. However, Merlin's eyes were looking carefully at the sorcerer's movements. He was prepared to use his magic whenever it was necessary.
"Hello, Merlin!" He heard a childish voice.
"Oh... hello, Kevin."
"I came to see my father's fight! You're going to see how incredible he is! He said that when I grow up I'm going to fight as well as he does!"
The boy kept talking and talking, he was so excited seeing his father fighting... Merlin, by his time, was having some trouble to pay attention to the fighters.
"... and this weird man! Look at him, he don't even have a sword!"
"Kevin, please, give me a couple of minutes..." Merlin was trying so hard!
The young warlock had noticed when the sorcerer used his magic to make the other man fell over the floor. However, he was a good fighter and recovered his position quickly.
"Oh! How did he do that?" Kevin screamed shocked.
"Magic." Merlin answered with his eyes always on the competitors.
"Wow! Do you think I'm going to be able to do that with my magic when I grow up, Merlin?"
"Kevin! Never talk about this in public anymore!" Merlin's eyes came to the boy. He suddenly knew how Gaius feels about him, sometimes... "It isn't safe and..."
"No! No! My father!" The little boy sounded really desperate! What... oh no!
Merlin was interrupted by the boy, who quickly ran to the arena. Damn! A couple of seconds he stopped to watch the fighters were enough to the sorcerer attack Kevin's father. He saw the sorcerer look at the king with an evil smirk and calmly leave the arena. The sorcerer covered his head with his black cloak and passed near Merlin, not noticing the boy. However, Merlin's eyes were very attentive at him, observing the weird man going down by the street and entering the tavern. So he was hosted there. Good to know.
"Merlin, what are you doing?" Gaius voice brought him back to reality. "Come on and help me with that man!"
Merlin ran to the arena, following Gaius. He could hear the people whispering and talking, some of them exited, and some shocked, since nobody expected to see a man without a sword or something beat a good fighter. The poor man was bleeding, while his son was near him, in the floor, crying, having Morgana by his side, trying to comfort him. Uther and Arthur were there too. Arthur was asking lots of questions to Gaius about the gravity of the man's health. Uther, by his time, was observing everything much paler than usual.
"Father... father! Please, talk to me!" Kevin kept crying. "I promise I'll be good! Please, father, please! I promise I'll take the sheep to graze very early, every morning!" The poor child implored. "Why he doesn't open his eyes, milady?" He asked Morgana desperate.
"Calm down, Kevin. Gaius is trying to cure him. Let's hope." She embraced the boy.
"He's still alive." Gaius said examining him. The physician took a little flask in his bag and made the man drink it. "This potion will make him stop bleeding."
"Did you hear it, Kevin?" Morgana tried to cheer him. "Gaius is a wonderful physician, I'm sure he'll do everything he can to cure your father..."
Uther was still in silence. Still pale. Still observing Morgana. She was sweet trying to comfort the little boy, and that remembered how good it feels to be into her arms, but... it wasn't really happening, was it? No, it couldn't! Just like she had dreamed! She's a... no, Uther! Of course she isn't a sorceress. Look at her, man! She's beautiful and sweet... and she loves you! How could she be a witch? But then, if she weren't, how would her nightmare come true? How could she know about the future? Oh, Morgana... why?
Merlin and Sir Leon carried the litter in which Kevin's father has been put on. Gaius was in front of them, walking quickly to his chambers. Morgana and Kevin followed them, and so did Uther. He needed to talk to Morgana. No! He... he needed to think... to be alone and think about it. Last night, when she said she's a seer... it wasn't said by impulse, it wasn't because she was scared. No, it was true! But... no, she can't!
Arthur stood in the arena, so he could say some words to the people, finishing the first day of the championship.
"People of Camelot! I would like to thank your presence today and to invite all of you to come back tomorrow. We'll have more fights and we'll be near of knowing who the champion will be! I declare the first day of our championship finished. Thank you very much for your presence!"
Gaius had examined the man and had given him some potions. He was still unconscious laid in the small bed in which the physician uses to treat his patients. Kevin and Morgana were near the man, while Merlin was helping the physician to treat him.
"So, Gaius? How is he?" Morgana asked, having still a crying Kevin into her arms.
"It's hard to say. All the vital functions are preserved, the bleeding has stopped..."
"And what's wrong, then?" Merlin was curious.
"Why he doesn't wake up, sir?" Kevin asked, caressing his father's hair, a little bit calmer to know his father wasn't dying.
"My boy..." How to explain that to such a young kid? "Your father has been attacked by magic." He said carefully.
"I have magic! When I meet that man again I'm going to..." He suddenly was furious.
"Kevin!" Merlin reprehended him severely, making Gaius very surprised. "What have I said about talking about this?"
"But Merlin, he tried to kill my father!" The boy explained.
"Yes, and if you talk like that again to other people, the king could throw you in the dungeons again! Or worse!" Merlin tried to make the boy understand the risks of talking about his magic. Wow! He surely wasn't like this when he was younger, was he?
"He's right, Kevin." Morgana said, sounding sweeter that her friend had. "You can talk about it with the three of us, whenever you want to, but it isn't safe to let people know about your magic."
The boy bobbed his hand in agreement and a few moments after, Gaius continued:
"I have to research about the magic which was used against your father. Then we can try to revert it. However, maybe it..."
Gaius was impolitely interrupted when his chambers were invaded by Arthur, Sir Leon and some guards. Was Camelot under attack?
"Here he is!" Arthur declared while two guards held Kevin's arms. The boy screamed and tried to hide into Morgana's arms. The lady embraced him hardly.
"Arthur! What on earth are you doing?" Morgana screamed. She was so mad at him, so fiery.
"Fulfilling king's orders." He answered solemnly. "All those who have magic must be arrested until second order."
"What?" Morgana was blushing in her anger. Was Uther drunk? "I forbid you to take him." She said powerfully. Goddess! How could he have done this? Her Uther was a really confusing man sometimes!
"This is not your business, Morgana." Arthur said coldly. "Stay out of it."
"Arthur, she's right." Merlin tried. "He's just a kid, his father is very hurt... It doesn't seem so wise to arrest a child like this... I mean, he's already so scared!"
"Shut up, Merlin! Don't be such a girl!" Arthur was losing his temper. "Guards, take the boy to the dungeons!"
She was feeling her body getting heat in her fury! Morgana's feet were walking her to Uther. He must be in the throne's room. What he had in mind to do that? He released that boy already! He had seen the nonsense in his acts and now... he was arresting everyone who has magic! How dares him?
The witch was walking so fast, looking so self confident that it was impossible don't look at her while she passes. Inside, however, she was very confused. Why her Uther was acting like that? He was so sweet in the morning... so devoted and kind. She knew she had to do something about the situation. But... what?
"Uther!" She almost screamed while entering.
"Morgana." He said coldly, standing beside his throne. The king looked kind of thoughtful. "I was about to ask your presence here. We need to talk." He declared very formally. Goddess, why he was being so cold?
"Yes! Of course we have to! Why have you arrested Kevin?" Emotion was clear in her voice, which sounded disappointed and angry.
"Not this again, Morgana! He's a sorcerer!" Uther said angrily. "I'm protecting the kingdom!"
"From a child?" She couldn't believe it!
"Morgana. Today a man almost died because of sorcery!" Uther tried to explain.
"So you've arrested the wrong sorcerer! You should arrest the killer, not the little boy. The man who almost died was his father! Uther, he's so young, he almost lost his father and now you've arrested him!" Was the king insane?
"There's a sorcerer in my championship, Morgana. A bloody sorcerer!" He screamed at her, walking to his ward and stopping few inches before their bodies would touch each other's.
"Just like I warned you!" She said sounding calmer now. "I think you've finally got it, Uther. Please, you can't take part on it! The nightmares are coming true!"
"Yes, it's happening. Just like you said. The sorcerer, the man almost being killed... what else, Morgana?" Uther was screaming too.
"Please, Uther! I can't lose you! Please, my love, you can't fight against him!" She begged, holding hardly his shirt and coming even near him. "This man, the killer, he should be arrested! He should be banished from the championship." They were so near that Uther could feel her warm breath on his face.
"Morgana, the championship has no rules." He answered coldly. "However, this is not the topic which I intended to discuss. Your nightmares are. Your nightmares come true, Morgana. That's why you were always so scared." He said emotionless, still standing few inches away from the lady, who still had her hands holding hardly the king's shirt.
"Yes! Yes, my love! You finally got it!" She was so touched! He understood she has magic! So he would accept it and release the poor boy.
"Of course I got it." He said coldly, taking her wrists angrily and pulling the lady away from him. "You're a witch, Morgana! You're a... a sorceress!" The king screamed furiously at his ward.
Oh, I know, such a cliff hanger!
Poor Morgana! Why her Uther can't understand she's using her magic just to protect him?
Uther, by his time, must be so confused! Sorceresses are always bad? How can Morgana be a witch? She loves him! – As if have magic and love Uther were incompatible things! =P
Yes, these two have so much to talk about...
Please, don't be so shy, let me a review! =)
