Jane sat in the passenger seat of Billy Ford Mustang stealing sly glances at the man driving noticing the gun sitting in the waist band of his jeans. Gripping his left side in pain once again, Jane realised any attempts to try and fight this man or reach for the gun were going to be futile. Leaning his head back against the cool leather of the head rest he watched the empty desert highway ahead of him zooming past. a few miles down they past a sign for a gas station saying 2 miles ahead. Deciding the only way he was going to get out of this horrific ordeal was to use the best anumuniation he had left. His mouth.

Jane turned his head focusing his eyes solely on Billy. After a few minutes Billy sensed he was being watched and took his eyes off the road to see Jane sat calmly staring at him.

"What? Stop staring man, it's creepy."

"Meh, I am just wondering why a woman like Nicki, or should say Vanessa as you know her, would marry a man like you. I mean I get why she got with me, I have the charm, the looks, the brains and well, not blowing my own trumpet I know my way around a woman's body and let me tell you I've got to know her body pretty damn well this past few years. But then I don't need to tell you about that, I mean we both know that shy quiet girl turns into quite the an animal once in the sack... Phew! Man! Sometimes I have to gag her just to keep her from screaming the place down and the things she can do with her mou...

"Shut the hell up" Billy said angrily through gritted teeth swerving the car a little.

"Hey I can't help it if you didn't satisfiy your woman Bill, I mean why else would she leave you but don't you worry I have been taking real good care of her, in fact only last week I had her..."

Before Jane could finish the end of his sentence Billy fist connected hard against with his face. The back of Jane's head smashed up against the passenger window. "I said shut the fuck up, oh man. You're dripping blood all over my interior. For fucks sakes this car a fucking classic."

Jane placed his hands over his face watching blood streaming out from his nose on to his suit trousers and car seat. Leaning his head forward blood started dripping on the floor of the Mustang. Seeing the small gas station on the horizon Jane placed his hands on the dashboard.

"What the fuck are you doing? You're spreading blood everywhere. Jesus Christ." Billy spat angrily.

"Pull in up there, I can get some tissue from the rest room" Jane lifted his back up against the headrest, his hands thumbling around the car trying in vain to stop the flow of blood his nose.

Jane felt the mustang suddenly swerved to the left and come to an abrupt stop. Looking out the window Jane noticed the car had stopped in a old fashioned gas station with one working gas pump, a old workshop and a small building with old franchise stickers obscuring the windows. A few meters down was a smaller building which had clearly seen better days with a single wooden door with a toilet sign printed on the front.

"Stay here. You move I will shoot you and kill the old man." Jane turned to see a grey haired old man dress in dirty overalls exciting a car workshop. The older man approached the Ford Mustang assuming they were here for gas. "Uh... I need the toilet." Jane said still pinching the bridge of his nose trying to stop the bleeding.

"Tough, hold it you're not going anywhere" Billy stated pulling the gun out his the back of jeans aiming it out of shot at Jane's torso. Seeing the older man approached the front of the mustang Jane spoke again "I really need the toilet, I mean the toilet." Billy frowned in confusion. "Look if you don't want me crapping all of your seats as well I suggest you let me go... Now. You have had locked me up for the past 10 hours and I am only human."

Billy sighed knowing Jane was up to something but loved his car far too much to have that kind of mess to deal with. "Fine. you go to the toilet. straight there and back. You try to run I will shoot the old man. You try make a signal of any sort I will shoot the old man, you do anything I don't like I will shoot the old man and you. Do I make myself clear?"

"Crystal." Jane stepped out of the car to come face to face with the older gas pump attendant, hearing the drivers car open Jane looked over to see billy had stepped out of the vehicle his gun pointing towards them both, thankfully the gas attendant hadn't spotted the fire arm and greeted them cheerfully.

"Hey there fellas, gas is it? The older man eyes narrowed in concern when he spotted Jane's bloody face and shirt. "Are you ok Son?..."

"Who me? Yep I am fine. I just don't do long car travel very well. May I use your rest room please." Jane replied smiling kindly at the older man.

"uh...yeah sure thing, it's just over there knock yourself out. Is there anything else I can help you with son?" The gas attendant said kindly, suspiciously glancing to the larger man standing by the driver's door, knowing there was something seriously wrong with this scene. As Jane began making his way over to the small restroom the old man glanced down to see his bare feet and began to follow. His gut feeling told him the bare foot guy was in big trouble and the thug driving was involved.

Jane heard the man's footsteps scraping along the gravel behind him, realising he needed to get the innocent guy away before Billy shot him, he turned back. "Hey, do you think you could get me a soda? and one for my friend here. I am parched. That would be great."

The older man stopped following Jane and replied. "Sure son, I will be right back." The older man slowly walked back to the main building never taking his eyes off billy, once the guy had enter the small store Billy shouted out "Hurry the fuck up will ya!"

Entering the hot smelly rest room Jane quickly began checking the walls sighing in frustration when he discovered no mirror. Running his bloody fingers through his curly hair trying to think of something or someway out of this mess he heard the sound of heavy moving footsteps approaching the restroom. Knowing instantly Billy was about to enter Jane quickly locked himself in the only toilet stall snapping the latch shut.

"Hey hurry the fuck up. This guy's bugging me and I am going to have to shoot him if he does anything stupid." Billy shouted banging on the stall door.

"Okay, I am just coming."

With the sound of Jane rustling around in the stall Billy banged hard on the toilet door again. "What are you doing in there?" A few moments later Jane exited the toilet cubicle holding tissue paper up to his nose. "Well that would have gone a lot quicker without the audience" Jane said sarcastically.

Pushing the smelly toilet cubicle door fully open Billy surveyed the toilet area making sure Jane hadn't been up to anything to try and aid his escape. "Come on. Let's go. No more fucking around."

Jane got back in the mustang as the gas attendant exited the main building carrying the two sodas in his hands. Billy started the ignition releasing the handbrake. "Wait. I need my drink." Jane said lowering the car window. Taking the cold cans from the man's hands Jane focused his eyes solely on the gas attendant. "Thank you sir, I am sorry you may need to clean the toilet up as I've made a bit of a mess." Billy groaned in annoyance at Jane's politeness and pulled the mustang speedily away, leaving the attendant standing in a dust cloud made by the fast spin of the mustang wheels.

Watching the mustang speed down the empty highway the old man shook his head. He knew he should have done more to help the poor bleeding guy but at aged 76 he wasn't the man he use to be. The attendant stood trying his hardest to catch the number plate but in the end gave up as the smoke cloud obscured his vision.

Walking over to the rest room the attendant entered the smelly hot building carrying a mop in his hand, not seeing anything out of the ordinary he peered into the small toilet cubicle but noticed the bowel was clean. spotting something lying on the floor by the toilet basin he bent down to pick it up discovering a torn piece of bloody shirt. The creaking sound of the toilet door shutting behind him made him look back and it was there he saw a message written on the back of the graffiti stained door in fresh blood.

Lisbon 555 7666, Ceasars car P 7pm

The clock on the mustang dashboard read 18:53 as Billy pulled up in a parking bay in the darker part of the Ceasars underground car park. There wasn't many other cars parked around as it was two floors down from the Hotel and far from the elevator and staircase. Jane nervously fidgeted in the passenger seat, he had managed to convince Billy they had hidden the bulk of the money in Nicki's old work locker situated in the staff quarters of the hotel but due to Billy driving like a bat out of hell all the way they had arrived a few minutes earlier than he had planned and there was no sign Lisbon and the team or any law enforcement officers anywhere near by.

Jane wasn't even sure if the gas attendant would have seen his toilet message yet and he realised this whole rescue mission solely rested on a 76 year old man gut feelings and intuition.

"Come on, let's go" Billy said grabbing his gun and exiting the mustang.

"What's the rush?" Jane said searching frantically around the car park for any signs of human activity. He knew the second they entered the back entrance of the casino and went in to the locker room he was in trouble or more so Nicki was, what ever happened to him in the interim was a minor compared to what would happen to the poor girl still being held captive 30 miles out in the desert in a some derelict warehouse.

Jane exited the car feeling the rough concrete beneath his bare feet. "I can't go in there dressed like this" Jane said motioning down to his bare feet and his blood stain dress shirt. Billy narrowed his eyes at his appearance before popping open the trunk of the car, rummaging around he eventually produced a blue Yankee's hoodie and pair of Nike sneakers three sizes bigger.

"Put these on." The hoodie and sneakers landed in a pile on the floor a few feet in front of Jane. He picked it all up not at all impressed by the clothing he was being made to wear having never worn a hoodie in his life.

"Don't you have anything smaller" Jane asked holding up the old hoodie in disgust which reached all the way down to his thighs.

"This ain't New York fashion week, put the fucking clothes and shoes on will ya." Billy slammed the trunk shut pointing his gun at Jane.

Jane fumbled around putting on the extra large items, hoping by stalling for time Lisbon and the team would be on there soon and his ordeal could finally end.

Billy stuck the gun barrel hard into Jane's side pushing him to move up the ramp to the elevator. Jane felt his knees buckle as the gun hit his ribs and he had to lean on billy's left arm for support.

"what's wrong with you? Stand up man!"

The feeling of nausea hit Jane hard, he knew he had broken ribs from the beating he had received back in the motel but there was something else wrong. He had been feeling weak and in severe pain for several hours now and the latest gun dig had push him to the edge of complete exhaustion.

Struggling up the carpark ramp his legs felt he was climbing through syrup and he nearly collapsed when they finally reached the top. The sound of a large vehicle screeched to halt nearby drawing away Billy's attention. Lisbon's voice echoed off the walls of the carpark "Put the gun down. Now"

Billy roughly grabbed Jane around the chest placing the gun barrel against his temple. Watching Lisbon and Adams pointing their weapons towards them, Jane sighed in relief that his quick thinking back at the gas station had panned out the way he had hoped.

"Stay back or he is a dead man" Billy shouted

"Let him go or it will be the last thing you ever do" Lisbon said calmly removing herself from shielding behind the SUV. Jane smiled sweetly at the sight of his gorgeous wife coming to his rescue once again. Billy dragged Jane's body back desperately searching for an exit out. Spotting the elevator doors open across the carpark he began pulling Jane's heavy body along with him. Lisbon and Adams swiftly edged forward pointing their firearms, shouting at Billy to put his gun down and surrender. Lisbon slowly pulled back the trigger but stopped when she saw she couldn't get a clean shot at Billy without hitting Jane.

"Can you get a clean shot" Adams asked moving herself towards the pair.

"I don't think so" Lisbon said "if I shoot I will hit Jane."

"Just do it. Take Jane out of the equation, then I can take Billy down from where I am."

Lisbon felt her heart racing even more and her hands begin to shake, she attempted to pull the trigger aiming to graze Jane's left shoulder but felt herself hesitate not being able to bring herself to actually shoot the man she loved. Adams turned her head to see Lisbon hands frozen. "Lisbon pull the trigger" she said eagerly, knowing any minute they were going to lose both of them in the elevator.

"I... Can't..." Lisbon whispered shakily.

It was then the sound of a gunshot rang out from the other side of car park, hearing the cry of Jane seeing his body slump to the ground Billy released him and began firing his weapon aimlessly towards Lisbon and Adams as he made a run for it. Both female agents crouched down behind a nearby parked BMW shielding themselves from the fire of bullets. It was then more gunshots rang out further away , after a few moments the sound of gunfire stopped and Torks voice echoed out. "Adams? Lisbon?" You okay.

Lisbon stood up to see Cho and Tork stood on the other side of the carpark pointing their fire arms towards Billy lifeless body. Instantly standing up from behind the BMW Lisbon sprinted over to an unconscious Jane laying a few feet away.

"Jane, Jane, wake up." Lisbon fell to her knees picking Jane's limb upper body up into her arms whilst blood poured out from his right thigh. Cradling her husband in her arms Lisbon shouted out to her team mates. "Call a god damn ambulance now. Come on Jane wake up, come on baby, speak to me."

Cho swiftly moved over to Billy checking his neck for a pulse whist Tork and Adams ran over to where Lisbon and Jane were. Adams quickly stripped off her suit jacket, bunching it up and placing it hard against Jane's gunshot wound to try stop the bleeding. Seeing her friends despair as she grasp tightly on to her husband body with a silent tear streaming down her face Adams leaned over placing her hand gently on Lisbon's shoulder. "He is going to be ok Teresa, it's over, okay, it's all over."

Yay! they are finally reunited! But this isn't the end of their adventures in Vegas oh no... Still lots of fun and games to come for our lovely couple and it will be good. promise. ;)
