Hey guys, I've got time tonight so I'm writing. I've been reading a ton of fanfiction when I really need to be reading my required reading for high school :/
I'm watching House Bunny right now at my grandmas, have any of y'all seen that? It's this really funny movie with Anna Faris and Emma Stone, I love Emma Stone, she's my favorite actress :3 anyways, that's what I'm watching right now ^^ It's a great movie.
Jace: Lilly-
Lilly: Yeah yeah, I know. I don't own the characters or some of the plot in this story.
Jace: Wow, good job –hands her a cookie-
Lilly: Yay! –noms the cookie- =^.^=
Jace POV
Jace had never been happier than when he was dating Clary. It was very odd to him because he had never felt this way about anyone ever before, not to sound mushy or anything, to think that he had only met the girl a couple of weeks ago. The only thing that truly worried Jace the most was how his friends would react. No, Jace never was the type to care about what people thought, but being popular was a lot harder than it looked. When you're popular there is more than a little pressure to act and think in the way the rest of the popular crowd did. The only problem was, the way the rest of the popular crowd acted and thought wasn't always the best way to act and think.
The crowd that Jace tended to hang out with strictly didn't get serious with chicks. EVER. But that was how Jace felt about Clary. And he wouldn't be that guy who acted serious only when around the girl and then when they were around his friends would treat her like crap. That was just plain out wrong to do to a person, and he knew it. So how did he date her and be serious about her, but still be able to be with his crowd?
The crowd is more important. You know how in those cartoons when a character is debating something in their mind they have the little devil and the little angel versions of themselves with high pitched voices talking on each side of their shoulders? That's what it felt like right now to Jace. The little devil dude spoke about the crowd and the little Angel dude seemed to be leaning towards Clary.
Clary is the most beautiful and sweet girl you have ever met, DO NOT hurt her and lose her by 'going with the crowd' you dumbass, said the angel on his other shoulder.
Yes, Clary is hot, but if you stick with the crowd, even if she dumps you, you'll have plenty of other hot chicks falling at your feet, and you know, on their knees –wink wink-, the devil dude replied.
That's disgusting, angel Jace said.
But true –more winking-, said devil Jace.
That doesn't matter, your goal should be making sure that girl in specific is happy, she deserves that and you know it, if anything you can make her happy and then tell the guys where you stand. If they have a problem with it, so what? The angel man said to him. Jace nodded, this seemed the most reasonable argument to him. If he lost friends, oh well, Clary mattered most to him. Plus, she most definitely didn't deserve to be hurt.
So, Jace walked into school Monday morning with Clary on his arm feeling calm, collected, and confident. Jace had his arm around Clary's shoulders and she had her arm wrapped around his waist. They fit together perfectly and Jace couldn't be happier. Jace leaned over and kissed Clary's temple softly and he smiled at her, she looked up and smiled right on back at him. "What's up?" She asked.
"Nothin', I just wanted to kiss ya'." He replied. Clary instantly leaned up and kissed his cheek.
"Well I just wanted to kiss you, too." She said with a bright smile. Jace could hear the teenagers whispering around him about what had just occurred between him and Clary in the long hallway, but for the first time, he really didn't care.
The couple walked to Clary's locker where she unlocked it and they talked casually. Then Jace walked her to her classroom. Then he turned around and walked into his own classroom which was only a couple of classrooms away from Clary's. As soon as Jace flopped into his chair he hear a sharp voice asking him a question. "What the FUCK, man?!"
Jace turned to face the source of the harsh question and saw Jonathan staring at him with an angry expression. "What now, Jonathan?" Jace asked with a sort of tired and uncaring expression.
"Don't 'what now' me, Jace. What is with the randomly making 'kissy faces' and 'oo-ey goo-ey' faces at the new chick, Clary?" He asked angrily.
"The 'new chick Clary' happens to be my girlfriend, therefore I'm allowed to make those faces at her, I happen to like her quite a bit." He answered with a roll of his eyes.
"No, no, no, you do not get to make those faces, even if you are dating her. You're not allowed to fall in love with chicks, man. They're just to use then throw away, that's how the game works." Jonathan said.
Jace narrowed his eyes at him. "That's not Clary, I am not in love with her but that will never be how I treat her. Clary is more than that and doesn't deserve that treatment, and now that I think about it, neither does most, if not all, of the girls whom have been subjected to those rules of our group." Jace said.
"You fucking love her!" Jonathan said. "How long have you been dating her?!"
"Basically about a week, and I do NOT love her." Jace replied.
"Jace, this chick is doing shit to your mind! You gotta dump her ass bro!" Jonathan told him angrily.
"Mr. Morgenstern, whatever you're trying to tell Mr. Lightwood here is not nearly as important as my lesson, I assure you, so if you'd PLEASE be quiet and listen to my lesson." The teacher barked angrily at Jonathan.
"Oh, um, yes sir, right away sir, I apologize sir." Jonathan let out quickly.
"Thank you very much, now…" The man speaking at the front of the class began writing out complex equations on the white board for the class to read and copy down for the morning warm-up. Jace got out his notebook and began copying down the equations and working them out to answer. A few minutes later a slip of paper was slid on his desk, no doubt from Jonathan.
"Get rid of her dude, she is nowhere near hot enough or slutty enough to fit your rep. She ain't worth it!" It said.
Jace angrily scribbled back, "She is more worth it than anyone I have ever met, I don't care about my rep either, and maybe I wanna change it! Now leave me alone before we get caught!" He slid it quickly onto Jonathan's desk and got back to work. Jace didn't even care about his reaction, but he knew he was angry because he could hear the angry flips of him turning pages in his notebook. Jace didn't care, and he knew what he had written was true. His rep was honestly horrible, and he may actually want to change it. It was surprising what just one girl could do to a guy.

Clary POV
It was odd walking into school that morning, she had never really had a boyfriend quite like Jace. Clary was aware that Jace was EXTREMELY popular and she knew just how jealous all the other girls would be when they saw her with him, but she secretly was proud of herself. She had caught the guy that all the girls wanted. That was cool as hell. When they walked into the high school, Jace's arm was around her shoulders and her arm was around his waist, they fit together perfectly in a way she'd never experienced before. She looked around and saw all the girls glaring at her and some of the guys looked surprised, even a little jealous at Jace, which was surprising. She wasn't exactly 'sought after' and now guys looked jealous? What an odd prospect. At that moment Jace had leaned over and kissed her on the temple.
"What's up?" She asked.
""Nothin', I just wanted to kiss ya'." He replied. That was completely adorable to Clary. So she stood on her tiptoes and kissed him on the cheek.
"Well I just wanted to kiss you, too." She said to him with a soft smile. He made her feel so comfortable and loved without even trying; it was adorable and seriously commendable. She was truly surprised that he had decided to be so open about their relationship right away; it wasn't often that a popular guy did that. She had heard about his relationship with Kaelie and knew that their relationship was strictly sexual, and though that was sad it made sense. But Clary and Jace's relationship was so much more different than that, or at least she hoped it was to him. So with that big of a change in nature of relationship, you'd think he'd want to be secretive about it at first. But he wasn't.
He walked her to her class and then once she went inside she could see him walking to his class. She went to go sit in her seat and start on her work but before she could even do that she felt a ball of paper hit the back of her head. She turned around surprised and bent to retrieve the paper. Opening the crumpled mass she could see what was written inside.
"WHORE! Leave Jace alone! NO BODY LIKES YOU!" It said. Clary could feel herself tearing up, but she refused to cry, not here. She stopped her tears and folded up the paper and put in her backpack, she intended to show the message to Jace. No, you can't do that, he'll think you're a whiner, she thought. That was true, she decided not to show him and just keep it to herself, she'd deal with the problem on her own. It wasn't worth going to Jace and crying about it.
LINEBREAK
In art Clary was most happy. She got to their drawing spot before Jace and quickly set to work. She pulled out the large box full of charcoals that she got from the supply closet of the art room earlier in the day. Then she took one and went to one corner of the page. On Friday they had set the paper up so after they charcoaled it they could just lift it and tape it to the wall, so it was in perfect position for her to just start. She quickly rubbed the stick along the page in quick but fluid movements, trying to make a dark and even coat throughout the page. She knew her hands were getting dreadfully dirty, but she didn't care, it didn't matter. What mattered was getting the back of this page charcoaled so that she could print what was on the front onto the wall.
A few minutes later Jace ran into the room a bit out of breath and threw his backpack down onto the floor in the corner. "Hey, so sorry that I'm late! I was held up by my last teacher and then made a wrong turn; I don't even know how I did that." He said. He scrambled to sit by her on the floor.
"It's ok, just get to work so we can get this crap up on the wall." Clary said with a laugh.
"'Kay, what do I do?" He asked looking at her intently.
"You take a piece of charcoal and then you turn it on its side," She picked up a piece and turned it on its side to demonstrate, and then she placed it on the paper. "Then you just quickly move it across the paper, trying to keep it in even coats." She said to him. He nodded and picked up a piece of charcoal.
"Here, I'll start on the other end, that way we'll get it finished quicker." He said. Clary smiled at him and nodded, and then she got back to work. They were working for about 15 minutes before she could hear Jace getting restless on the other side of the room.
"Alright, it is seriously too quiet in here." He said, Clary looked up and saw him pulling out his phone and a small pair of speakers. He plugged the phone into his speakers and turned on Pandora. Out spilled music by the wonderful Panic! at the Disco, the song I Write Sins Not Tragedies came on and Jace started nodding his head to the beat. Clary followed his movements happily.
"You're right, and Brendon Urie rules." Clary said with a laugh. Jace smirked at her.
"You think he's hawt don't you?" He said teasing.
"Oh baby, he's more than hot, he's delicious, but he's married and I'm taken, it would never work." Clary said with a wink.
"Oh really?" He asked, "Then what am I on this scale of hotness?" he asked.
"Hmm…" She said whilst rubbing her chin in thought. "You are… just slightly above Brendon… so delectable?" she answered with thought.
"I think that I should be ambrosial to you, I mean, we all know I am sexy as all hell. I'm dreamy, admit it Clary, you think I'm dreamy." He said.
Clary laughed aloud, "Ambrosial, no, dreamy, absolutely baby." He winked at her.
"You have wet dreams about me, I knew it." He said.
"Oh my gosh, no Jace." She laughed and shook her head. "But I know you have them about me." She said deviously. His eyes widened at her.
"And how is it that you think you know that?" He asked with an eyebrow raised. The pair continued to shade with their charcoal as they talked.
"Let's just say that your bedroom is really close to the bathroom, and sometimes I have to go late at night." Jace laughed out loud.
"Oh, Clary, that wasn't me dreaming." That was all he said before he continued. The song Teenagers by My Chemical Romance came on and he started rocking out to that as he shifted to get more area for shading. It was Clary's turn to raise her eyebrows, but she just continued working.
About 30 minutes of diligent work later they were finished. They quickly taped it to the wall, making sure that it had no wrinkles, and got to work on drawing over the original art. About halfway through the teacher, Mr. Alaric, came in to evaluate their work so far.
"Hello children, I came to check on your progress." He said. Jace and Clary whirled to see him standing behind them, they were surprised and had not seen nor heard him enter the greenhouse.
Jace recovered before Clary and smiled at Mr. Alaric. "Hello." He said simply.
"Hi Mr. Alaric," Clary said once she regained composure, "As you can see, we have finished our original drawing on the paper and are now transferring it to the wall." She said.
"Oh I see," He said, he stepped closer to the drawing and looked at it. "What are you using for the transfer?"
Jace pointed to the container of charcoal that was on the ground a few feet away. "Charcoal, sir." He answered. The man didn't even turn to look, but his eyebrows raised and he nodded approvingly.
"That is a very good idea, I hadn't thought of that." He said.
"Thanks." Clary said with a large grin. Alaric turned and nodded happily at her.
"So, I think the next step for you both after the transfer should be to start painting the big areas with an eggshell sheen of latex paint. The latex paint is basically what you would normally use to paint your home, the eggshell sheen just means that it's not too glossy of a paint and you can scrub and/or clean it." (A/N This is actually all completely true, this is what you'd usually use when painting a mural) He said to them. Clary nodded deep in thought, mainly of how true this was. She would first lay down painters tape for the border to make sure there's a nice clean border.
She was thinking of these things so much that she didn't notice Alaric leaving and Jace trying to get her to go back to work. "Clary, Clary, hello?" he said waving his hand in front of her face.
"Huh, what?" She said snapping back to attention. "Oh, sorry, I was thinking." She said smiling sheepishly. Jace chuckled and shook his head.
"It's ok, let's just get this over with, ok?" He said. She nodded and the pair got to work. About an hour later they were almost finished and decided to just finish the rest the next day. Then they packed up and walked out of the room hand in hand and chatted together.
"So, I think Simon and Izzy are going to be a thing." Clary said thoughtfully.
Jace looked at her incredulously. "No way, not my sister." He said.
"What do you mean 'not my sister'?" Clary asked sharply. Simon deserved someone like Izzy as much as any other great guy did so she didn't think he deserved that comment from Jace.
"Simon is definitely not Isabelle's type." He said.
"Oh, and what's 'Isabelle's type'?" She asked with her eyes narrowed at him.
Jace thought about this for a moment before answering. "Bad boys… guys that will piss off our parents, your Simon is definitely not the kind of guy to piss off our parents, he's the type to show up and bring flowers for both Izzy and my mum and comment on the upholstery, he'd also try to impress my dad with his extensive knowledge on something that my father would like and think he was all suave and shit for knowing it."
"Yeah, yeah, Simon's a nice guy, but 1. He wouldn't talk to your dad because he'd be too scared of screwing something up, 2. He wouldn't think he was 'suave and shit' because he knows he's not by any stretch of the imagination, and 3. Maybe Izzy would make an exception for Simon, because Simon is one of the most awesome guys I have ever met and Izzy would be lucky to get him." Clary said to him matter-of-factly.
"Izzy would be lucky? Yeah, ok, whatever you think there Clary." Jace said with a chuckle.
"Whatever Jace, I ship 'em, go… Sizzy!" Clary said as she giggled. Jace just rolled his eyes at her lovingly.
Jonathan POV
Jace was making a huge mistake. HUGE.
Whoever he thought this broad was, she wasn't. She couldn't be, no girl could infiltrate his friend in the way that she had, it was impossible, simply impossible.
But Jon knew who she was. She was Clarissa Fairchild. That bitch Jocelyn's daughter.
Jocelyn was his mother.
So that made Clary his sister.
It confused him more than anything at first, Father had tried to explain it and how his mother was really a 'wonderful woman', but she abandoned him, how could he ever love her the way a son should love his mother? He could understand wanting to flee from the man he unfortunately had to call his father, but not taking him? Why wouldn't she? She took Clarissa, obviously, so why couldn't she have taken her only son?
What he knew about the situation was that at some point in their relationship, Jocelyn had decided that what his father was doing was no longer safe and a good idea, so she fled from him, leaving her one and only son behind with her husband. He had no idea at the time that she had been pregnant with their second child, Clarissa.
Clarissa got the better half of the parental spectrum apparently.
Clarissa didn't look like she'd had to endure constant training and beatings and the mental abuse that his father had put him through to make him the perfect son. Jocelyn had spoiled the girl in Jonathan's opinion. Jonathan was the perfect son, through the sculpting and careful manipulation he had become whom his father had wanted.
But still he was missing a few important components… what were they?
So Jace didn't know what he was getting into, but who could blame him, no one had told him. Yet.
Jon would take on that responsibility, that'd be fine by him. He had to save his good friend from the horrible person this girl had to be.
Jonathan turned to look at the sleeping form of his mother in the bed at his home. "Why'd you have to leave me?" he whispered sadly. "Why couldn't you just take me with you? You wouldn't have to go through this right now if you just had done the right thing by me. Clarissa can't even find you, I would've found you by now, mother."
Jocelyn had been in and out of a fitful consciousness since the day that his father had broken into her Brooklyn apartment and had taken her here, a lot of that probably had to do with the drugs that were being injected into her continuously. Jon's fingers itched to hold his mother's hand, he'd always wanted to do that as a child; hold his parent's hand. Father had never let him do that, he distinctly remembered reaching to hold his father's hand, but as soon as his fingers grazed the man's hand the hand jerked back as if touched by something hot. His father had said "No, real men don't hold hands." He had remembered thinking, but I'm not a man yet, just a boy.
If he'd had a mother then she would've let him hold her hand, but she had left him, so now he wouldn't hold her hand. Because now he was a real men, and as his father had said 'real men don't hold hands.'
She had broken him and his heart, he wouldn't let her do it again.
"You won't hurt me anymore mother." He said aloud.
She had apparently heard him because she turned to him and opened her eyes. "I never meant to hurt you my lovely Jonathan, I would take it back if I could."
"But you can't." Valentine's voice boomed from behind Jonathans back, his head whipped around to look at his father.
"I wasn't speaking to you, Valentine." Jocelyn sneered.
"I don't care, he deserves to realize that his mother is unable to take back the years she stole." Valentine said completely calm.
"No, I can't take them back, but I can make up for them in the years to come." She turned to look at Jon once again as she said this. Jonathan could see that his mother was tired, that even looking at him was draining her energy quickly. Jon refused to give into her smooth words.
"I –" he began, but his father interrupted him.
"You won't get the chance Jocelyn, unless you give me the gem, and maybe, just maybe, come back to me and become mine once again."
"You still don't understand, Valentine." She sighed looking at him.
"Understand what?!" He said desperately.
"You still don't understand that you can't own me, I am not yours, and I will never be yours. You still think that love is ownership, but it's not, it's just not." She told him.
Valentine's face twisted angrily and he stormed out of the room and slammed the door shut behind him. Jocelyn sighed and she turned to look at Jonathan once again. "You can decide, my son." She said.
"Decide what, mother?" Jonathan said, confused with his own emotions.
"You can decide what side you shall take, but know this, I hurt you once, but I will never hurt you in such a way again, Valentine has hurt you many times before and will continue to hurt you after all is said and done. But, no matter whom you choose, I will always love you, even if you are the one to end my life." She said sadly.
Jonathan was at a loss of words, what she said wasn't completely untrue, Valentine hurts him so much. But before he could think of anything else to say he could see that his mother had fallen into sleep once again.
"Don't worry mother, I will decide soon enough. Just know that I will not be the end of you, not if I can help it." With that he stood and walked out the door, shutting it softly behind him.
Ok, that's it! For now at least, I almost cried while writing the Jonathan point of view, I wanted him to be troubled and borderline psycho inside… I wanted him to be hurting badly. Anyways, I want to know what y'all thought of this chapter, I only got 2 reviews for the last chapter and that made me really freaking sad, because I thought the last chapter was really good especially cuz I included almost all of the really cute cannon couplings…so y'all should show me some love…
Also I know this chapter isn't super duper long, but it's also not short, so that's cool… I'll try to make the next chapter long, I promise!
Aight, later you guys, have a good night/day/week and yeah!
