(Honey's P.O.V)

This nigga!

I glared at Riley.

"Yo ass just had to call him" I hissed

Riley cast me a hopeless look

"Under those circumstances can you really blame me?" he groaned

"Well" Huey prompted impatiently

"Well what" Riley said glancing at Huey

Huey narrowed his eyes

"Riley stop playing around" he growled

"I don't know what you're talking about" Riley said before turning on the tv and begin to flip through the channels

"Riley tell me now"

Silence

"Riley"

Silence

"Riley" Huey hissed

I watched nervously as his glare focused on Riley who wasn't even paying attention

"Riley I think you should answer him" Cindy said resting her hand on his forearm

"who?" Riley asked

"Stop being a smartass man, I don't think you want it" Caesar advised resting his head on my shoulder

"Riley you have until the count of 5"

Riley scoffed but I saw the seriousness in Huey's eyes ans he was NOT playing

"1"

Nothing

"2"

Still nothing

"3"

He moved Jazmine off his lap and got up

Riley gulped when Huey cracked his knuckles but still said nothing

That when hell broke loose. Huey tackled Riley so hard they fell to the floor. Riley hissed in pain as Huey punched him. Riley quickly flipped them over and threw a few punches. There were grunts and cuss words flying but no one did anything. I was about to break them up but Caesar pulled me back and covered my eyes with his hand. When things got quite he finally uncovered my eyes and released me. I looked at my two cousins standing up glaring at each other. They both had their fare share of bruises but Riley had more.

"Was that really necessary?" I asked and Huey simply nodded but didn't look at me. I turned the rest of the group

"How come yall didn't intervene?" I asked with an annoyed expression

"They are always like this so we just let them do it. Besides if I get punched then everyone is getting these hands" Cindy said with a shrug

"It wouldn't have to been like this if he would've told me" Huey hissed

"AIN'T MY SHIT TO SAY NIGGA!" Riley growled

Huey opened his mouth to respond but I beat him to it

"ENOUGH!"

All eyes turned to me

"Stop it. All this fighting and shit just stop it." I narrowed my eyes at my cousins

Riley looked away but Huey held my gaze

"I just want to know what happened…and I want to know now"

I laughed but it held no humor

"And beating the shit out of each other is going to get you the information?"

When no words were spoken I continued

"Riley was right anyway it wasn't his story to tell"

I grabbed my bag and left. I ignored all the voices calling my name and just left.

(Huey's P.O.V)

After Honey left Caesar went after her and Cindy went home with Jazmine. I turned to Riley and sighed

"Im sorry" I mumbled

He spared me a glance before picking up the remote and turning the tv off

"You should be" he said before walking past me and up the stairs

After hearing the bedroom door close I decided to go see Honey. When I pulled up to her house, I turned off my car and hoped out. I didn't see any other cars in the drive way so I don't think anybody besides Honey and Caesar were here. I walked up the porch steps and rang the doorbell. After a minute or so Caesar opened the door. He didn't look happy to see me.

"Hey"

"Sup" He replied and crossed his arms

I sighed

"How is she?"

He shrugged

"She calmed down but she's still kind of upset"

"I didn't mean to get her upset"

"I know"

"I need to talk to her"

He looked at me blankly for a minute before opening the door fully and letting me in.

"Where is she?"

"In her room. Follow me"

I followed Caesar up the stairs into a narrow hallway. The walls were a mossy green with dark hard wood floors. Pictures of people I didn't recognize hung on the walls at the end of the hall was a floor length window with green and gold curtains pulled to the side. We stopped at a dark woodened door near the end of the hall. When Caesar opened the door I saw Honey sitting on her bed playing on her phone. I took a quick glance around her room. The walls were a light blue like the covers on her queen sized bed. She had one widow with white curtains. It looked like any regular room a dresser, desk with a laptop, and TV sitting on top of a stand in front of the bed. She had two other doors in her room which I guess were a closet and a bathroom.

"Honey"

She looked up at me with a blank stare

"Hey"

Caesar walked in to the room and laid on her bed before putting his headphones on. I guess he was staying but decided to give us some privacy.

There was an awkward silence and I tried my best not to look at Honey.

Finally I gave up. The atmosphere was too thick, I hated it that Honey was mad at me.

"Look Honey I'm sorry. I shouldn't have acted that way, it was childish."

Her fingers stopped moving across the screen of her fun and she looked up at me.

With a sigh she sat her phone on the nightstand beside her bed.

"I forgive you Huey but I'm still not a hundred percent happy with your behavior"

I nodded.

"But Honey you have to understand that I have been worried ever since Riley called me last night, then when I see you guys again thinking I'm going to get some type of explanation you guys try to brush it off. I mean u even told Caesar."

She ran her fingers through her hair and let out a frustrated sigh.

"Yea I understand where you're coming from but why didn't just ask me. It was my story to tell not his, and did you ever think I wasn't ready to tell you? Did you ever consider my feelings?"

No I didn't. I didn't think her feelings not once….

I rarely feel any type of remorse but when it comes to Honey I'm not usually myself, I wonder why that is.

"I didn't and I should have. I really am sorry Honey, I was just so worried"

She smiled at me

"I know, and that's why I understand."

Once again I did something I only do to one other person, I hugged her, a REAL hug.

She giggled as she hugged me back

"AWWE"

I quickly shot Caesar a glare

"Always got to ruin the moment"

He grinned before he shrugged

"I just couldn't resist, you were both hugging and smiling and giggling. It was sooo cute" he joked

I felt myself slightly twitch at the word giggle

"One, I don't giggle and two you may be dating my cousin but I will still beat the shit out off" my voice was serious and held promise

If he makes Honey cry I don't care who he is, he won't be seeing the next day

"Huey you sound like a protective older brother" Honey giggled

I simply shrugged

"What do yo-", Caesar began but was interrupted by a phone ringing

"Oh that's the house phone guys, I'll be back"

(Caesar's P.O.V)

After Honey left I decided it was time to talk to him about me and Honey's relationship.

"Huey, man you know I always respect women. My grandma would slap the shit out of me if I ever disrespected a female."

"I get that but the thing is Honey isn't some random female. She's my cousin, my family and you know I'll do anything to protect my family."

I nodded absentmindedly knowing he was right

"I may not remember a lot of my childhood with Honey but I do know that I love that girl like a sister. I know that I'd do anything for her no matter what it cost. That's why all this"

He gestured his hands towards me and her bed

"Is something that is hard for me to accept" he said with a sigh

"I understand but for real I'm coming at you one hundred right now, like no lie. I got feeling for Honey, I would do anything and everything to see her smile, Man I like her so much I'm ready for her to meet the fam. She means more to me than any other girl I've ever been with."

Huey's expression didn't change. His lips were still in a thin line and his eyes seemed as though he was trying to figure me out

"Why?" he asked catching me off guard

"Why? Have you not seen her?! She is the most beautiful girl ever! Inside and out! She's smart, funny, caring, and strong. After everything she's been through she's still able to smile and not break down. I may not have known her long but I can already tell she'll put anyone before herself. That's the type of women I want. That's the type of women I see myself with and if I was to mess that up in any way I would gladly let you do yo kung fu death shit on me"

Huey studied me a little longer before he spoke

"It's called Ninjutsu"

A grin spread across his face as he held his hand out

I knew I was grinning like a fool, and I ain't give a damn. I met his hand with mine and did the handshake we all made up back when we lived in the projects.

I checked my phone and saw it was almost 9.

"What's taking Honey so long?"

Hueys eyes widened slightly

"I don't know but I haven't heard anything in a while. You?"

I shook my head

That's all it took and we were down the stairs in seconds

"Honey!"

"Honey where are you!"

I went in the kitchen and saw her facing the wall with the phone to her ear.

At first I thought everything was fine until I saw her face. It was pure shock and horrer. Her eyes were wide and shinned with tears. Her lips were in a flat line and her chaw was tight. I took in her whole appearance and realized she was shaking, It looked like she was damn near bout to piss herself

I rushed to her side

"Honey? Honey?!"

Huey rushed in with his face full of worry

"what's wrong"

"I don't know she's not talking"

I tried to take the phone out of her hand but she had it in a death grip.

"Honey, Baby it's me Caesar…let go of the phone.

Her grip slowly loosened until I finally had it in my hand. Huey was now standing beside me as I spoke into the phone

"who the hell is this"

As soon as I said that the line went dead

I cursed under my breath and slammed the phone on the hook

"Who the hell was that" Huey asked as he narrowed his eyes at the phone

"I don't know, they hung up when I answered"

I turned my attention to Honey who looked like she was about to have a seizure.

I quickly pulled her in my arms and whispered sweet nothings as I soothed her hair. She finally stopped shaking but then began to cry.

She sobbed loud and terrified as she snuggled closer to me, encaging me in a death grip. I didn't care though because I was worried as hell.

"C-C-Caesar" she sobbed

"What baby? What's wrong?"

"He knows…He knows EVERYTHING! I'm scared, I' so scared!" she sobbed harder

I felt the warm tear slide down the crook of my neck as I cradled her

"Who knows babe?"

"M-M-My dad!" she choked out

I froze and cursed under my breath

"It'll be ok Honey, it'll be ok, I'm here and I'm not letting that bastard anywhere near you or your family bet that." I said with full determination in my voice.

She nodded and slowly stopped shivering but her tears took a while to stop

"thank you" she sniffled

Her eyes and nose were and her hair was messy as hell but she was still beautiful to me

"No problem, I got you always, remember that."

"Me too Honey"

She looked up at Huey and nodded you could see the ghost of a smile begin to appear on her lips but as fast as it came it was gone

"We need to get you out in call you family. If were gonna keep you safe everyone's gotta know what's going on Honey" I said with all seriousness

She nodded solemnly

"Ok lets go back to Huey's and gather the gang. Then we'll tell everyone everything" I said but really looking in Huey's direction.

After Honey grabbed a bag of a few things she'll need for a couple of days we headed back to Huey's and called everyone and informed Honey's family of the situation

Shit just got serious….
