The Power of Gods: A Wonder Woman Fanfiction Story
Episode 11:
On the streets of inland Greece…
It's a sunny afternoon, with large storm clouds coming a few hours away. Down below, most of the streets are covered in fog. The magic-modern lighting down these streets is dark, creating tons of dangerous traffic and crashes for modern citizen drivers. On a Greek city hilltop, three shadow wizards in cloaks sit in weird racecars: One in white, one in dark orange, and one in dark green. In matching colors, the rock face styled cars are charging up in spirit energy. Their creators call them Fireball Speeders. The shadow wizards's spirit energy gloves act as the Fireball Speeders's glowing jet black chargers. The white cloaked figure slightly laughs, "you all going to crash and burn." The dark orange cloaked figure mutters, "good gods…slight sigh…you know nothing of Tartarus."
To the shadow wizards, this is the most powerful battle: No spells to see coming, no easy way to win over other shadow wizards's dark followings. The Fireball Speeders speed off, turning into bright red spirit energy fireballs that spread spirit flame trails right behind them. They only move as well as the shadow wizards that drive them, through thought responsive spirit energy. The white Fireball Speeder steers through a exploding Greek house, coming back around to smash itself into the dark green Fireball Speeder. A tire flies off of the dark green Fireball Speeder. From within her Fireball Speeder, the dark green cloaked figure slightly laughs, "ok, you want to play hardball? Let's play!"
The dark orange Fireball Speeder speeds past. From within, the dark orange cloaked figure mutters to himself, "good gods." As the dark green Fireball Speeder starts spinning down the hillside, it hard spins faster over the white Fireball Speeder's side like a ramp. The dark green Fireball Speeder launches into the air, using the momentum to fly charge for the dark orange Fireball Speeder. The white Fireball Speeder tumbles on its side, exploding tire by tire across several Greek houses. The modern cars around the explosions try to speed away, but ten of them end up exploding into each other in the spirit flames.
What not many notice though are three goddesses, flying into the explosions. They're calling themselves the Furial: With dark orange skin, dark red capes, gold rimmed dark red dresses, and matching tiaras. One is Aleca with medium black hair, one is Mega with very long bright red hair, and one is Fury with medium golden hair. Fury mutters lowly, "go on ahead: The Fireball Speeder's mine!"
Aleca and Mega are turning many people in the explosions into spirit flame spirits. Mega laughs wildly, "sparkle, sparkle: Never too much! Wan…!" Alecca sighs hard, "if you're good, you'll get more. Ok?" Mega adds, "goodie!" The spirit flame spirits disappear with them in gratefulness, oblivious to their words.
Fury appears in front of the dark green Fireball Speeder, as it blurrily speeds through a screaming crowd of fleeing people. Fury darkly muses, "do you fear Tartarus, demon?" The dark green cloaked shadow wizard cries out, "no!" Several people as spirit flames are launched by Fury, through the Fireball Speeder. The exploding wreckage crashes down to the stone road. The dark orange Fireball Speeder steers away in a tight turn, almost tumbling over its own speed to get out of range. In Aresia's voice, Fury slightly laughs cruelly, "they sure don't make fireballs like they used to." She vanishes with her new spirit flame spirits.
A mortal half hour later, on Paradise Island…
Now fully sculpted, the floating island of the Mala Amazon nation has most of its towers close together. Circled around Paradise Island are dark grey stone like tile paths to walk on, with a few dark grey stone like courtyards to the back as Amazon practice grounds. Silver rimmed versions of magic mirrors easily let Mala Amazons walk from one tower to another. Two dark blue flat roofed crystal like lookout towers stand on either side of the complex of towers. Four Amazons, ready with spirit energy gloves, stand there on guard duty.
In the central tower, Antiope sits at a round gold colored table with a Paradise Island symbol in its center. She wears Amazon battle wear styled upper gold plating over dark green cloth, and a silver starred dark green cape with three spirit energy restoration charges. To Antiope's left is a medium dark red haired Amazon advisor named Adrasteia, wearing upper gold plating over dark blue cloth. To Antiope's right is a long blond haired Amazon advisor named Lyla, wearing upper ruby plating over light blue cloth. And in front of Antiope is Wonder Woman herself. The other two Amazon advisors have Mala nation advisor capes.
Antiope sighs, "Diana, we grow impatient for your vote." Wonder Woman moderately sighs, "sorry, Amazons. Just had my thoughts elsewhere." Lyla sighs heavily, "don't be. It's…understandable: No matter how much we hate Hippolyta, we all miss simpler centuries on Themiscrya."
Antiope reluctantly adds, "she is still my sister." Adrasteia points out, "there'll be time for reflection later, girls. Right now, our attention should be on the battlefield." Wonder Woman reminds herself, "right: The Lapith in Africa." She turns to a nearby magic mirror. It shows a Amazon task force on African plains, with tall dark green grass. They're battling the Lapith forces from the Cat Gossip show, with spirit energy blades and Lapith claws a-slashing. Two of the Amazons there have recently fallen unconscious.
Wonder Woman figures, "we can send a magic link to Cyrene. I know that might sound crazy, but that's just my vote." Lyla and Antiope slightly chuckle.
Adrasteia sighs, "I'm most likely going to regret saying this, but the Spiritwear should be a better alternative." Lyla reasons, "couldn't hurt to check." Antiope slightly nods, turning to the magic mirror. It changes to show spirit energy gloves being delicately transformed into spirit energy silver, so that the limited concentration of spirit energy inside isn't lost in the process. The finished products are to be evenly distributed spirit energy dress lining for formal dresses: One for every Amazon in the Mala nation.
Wonder Woman sighs sympathetically, "if they were ready, Adrasteia…" She finishes the thought, "…I'd vote for it." Adrasteia slightly nods. Antiope concludes, "still…sigh…it was a good suggestion. I'll send the magic link."
Fourteen mortal minutes later, in a Paradise Island tower guestroom…
In her United States fighter uniform, Wonder Woman as Diana lets herself collapse on a dark red bed. She looks up to the ceiling, sighing heavily to herself, "first Artemis…then the Muses of Nine. It's not that I don't respect Apollo's effort to personally protect Artemis, but it seems more and more that he might be right: Abou…" A magic mirror to her right interrupts the thought. From it, a Apollo voiced prerecording says, "one new magic link: For Mala Amazon Diana." Wonder Woman quickly gets up, seeing the magic mirror. It shows a self portrait of Wonder Woman. She herself moderately sighs, "very well. Let it link."
The magic mirror changes to show Ravin, in bad condition. Wonder Woman gasps, "Ravin. Are you…?!" Ravin slightly chuckles, "it…moderate cough…isn't too bad. Just got…moderate cough…hit in battle five days ago." Still concerned, Wonder Woman checks, "then…what are you linking me about?" Ravin reveals, "a few hours…moderate cough…ago…moderate cough…Grace passed by a door with magic dancing lights. That can only mean..." Wide eyed, Wonder Woman realizes, "The Devastation. I'm on my way!" She cuts off the magic link, hurrying to a close by dark purple closet to get her battle wear back on.
Meanwhile, on another magic mirror…
The screen shows Diana as Wonder Woman hurrying out of her guestroom, much to the great unease of Hippolyta in her Themiscryan bedroom. Hippolyta sighs deeply, "be careful, my stubborn daughter: For once."
Magic mirror flashes go by, of Wonder Woman making arrangements with Etta and Steve to get her invisible jet from the United States fighters. Several more magic mirror flashes show Wonder Woman in her invisible jet, hoping to get into Greece undetected by the mystical powers that be. On her way there, Steve calls, "so, who are you going as: Diana, or Wonder Woman?" Wonder Woman slightly chuckles, "very funny. Just remember to get some more burgers, and I'll be back late tonight." Steve slightly chuckles, "sure. Might even be up then."
A third set of magic mirror flashes show Wonder Woman coming into Greece, detecting to some confusion another invisible jet in the area. Over inland Greece, most traces of the spirit flames from earlier are long gone in sheets of pouring rain. And thanks to some giant god missiles from five days ago, twenty eight of the Greek islands are gone as well. Most of Greece has Greek citizens, magic and modern, wishing that that god destruction never happened. Some more magic mirror flashes show Wonder Woman landing in Antiparos, a few mortal minutes before checking on Ravin and Grace's hut. They're both mostly fine, all things considered. That is, besides Grace understandably worried for Ravin.
Across the inland Greece newspapers, three mystic stories of Gaiaic Spirit Pillar followings are coming to the surface: One is of Apollo bringing back the Astraea from the Gaianetariums, as cosmic black and silver flame elemental spirits. The second is of Poseidon's recently formed Island Metal singer group the Seirenes, on their first world tour starting with Italy. Two of the Seirenes are Agalo and Thexie brought back from the World of New Light concert. The third singer though in the group is a very long white haired Siobhan McDougal, in a coral like white and black bodysuit. And the third story…is in the form of a new dark following altogether called The Golden Garden.
In Southern Greece, in a completely glass made greenhouse…
Many angry and upset Greek citizens are gathered around a large central tree, with temptingly good smelling Ambrosia hanging from it. The sight slightly takes their thoughts away from the lost islands. All around the Greek citizens are glass pillar like pots, growing bright yellow Ambrosia grapevines from within. In the Ambrosia tree's branches, the shrunk down spirit flame spirits look down darkly at the wishfully blind crowd in Greek clothing.
In the stormy skies above, the Furial twistedly admire their newfound following in god time. In Aresia's voice, Fury muses, "the Golden Garden of bliss. Slight chuckle. Pure brilliance, Athena." In Athena's voice, Alecca slightly sighs sadly, "well, it isn't like they…" In Artemis's voice, Mega excitedly interrupts Alecca, "a Golden Garden?! Oh, I'd love to eat one!" Alecca slightly chuckles, "go nuts." She has a floating golden garden island appear over the storm clouds, with the golden apples kind of Ambrosia in its trees. Mega turns confusedly to Alecca. Alecca sighs, "as in, go ahead." Mega appears and disappear around the storms's lightning, shouting yay to the sky several times over. Then she appears in her new garden, eating the Ambrosia apples by the dozen as they keep reappearing.
Fury sighs hard, "you do realize that you're just encouraging her." Alecca concludes, "still…moderate sigh…better than having one more god-sister to fight." Fury considers this, "maybe…but we will see how your wisdom there holds up." She disappears from the skies, appearing in front of the crowd at mortal size.
Around this time, in the Greek sewers below…
The stone aqueduct passages making up the sewers have been kept in good condition, thanks to wizard magic before Starliyss came to be. These underground aqueducts aren't just to bring drinking water in and out, but also are enchanted to constantly purify water. However, one aqueduct has a big side hole above water that isn't at all purified. The dark orange cloaked shadow wizard from earlier barely swims to the side hole's edge. He pulls himself up into the hole, which has a door with magic dancing lights. Down on his knees and breathing hard, the shadow wizard reports, "The Devastation! The…Furial…are stronger…than I thought. It won't…be long before…the Furial knock on…your door."
In the dancing lights before him, the shadow wizard sees many random darkly smiling mirror images of himself. They slightly laugh, "and the dark green body for my embodiment of devastation?" The shadow wizard moderately sighs, "the Furial destroyed her. I couldn't bring her spirit back to you." In the mirror images, The Devastation cruelly says, "then you just volunteered." The shadow wizard gasps, "no. You can't: I have no spirit to take!" The dancing lights surround him, distorting his view very quickly. The Devastation mutters harshly, "if you didn't, you wouldn't beg for mercy!" The shadow of the shadow wizard is sickly changing into a shadow…of a dark Wonder Woman. Against the shadow wizard's fading cries, she laughs evilly, "Devastator Woman…lives to destroy!"
A mortal hour and a half later, right outside the Furial greenhouse…
The storms in the sky have moved on, for the time being. Ambrosia grapevines are wrapped around a Greek hillside, vine by vine around dark green trees. Fury has her back to the Furial greenhouse, with her small spirit flame spirits impatiently flame dancing around her cape. To hundreds of Golden Garden followers before her, Fury declares, "it's time to make the shadow wizards pay! It's time to become archangels…of justice!" The Golden Garden followers all have some Ambrosia in their hands, offered by Fury. In the midst of darkly high cheers, only several of the Golden Garden followers don't cheer.
Alecca appears in the stormy air above. She gestures back to the greenhouse, "anyone that would rather just wish for better can get shelter inside." The several followers silently thankful follow her suggestion. At the same time, the remaining Golden Garden followers outside eat their apparent Aresia altered Ambrosia to shape change into spirit flame spirits. Over the hillside, Fury and her hundreds of spirit flame spirits see eleven shadows wizards and their thirty two apprentices standing ready for battle. Alecca appears within the Furial greenhouse, keeping watch on the followers inside.
Fury orders harshly, "destroy the little tyrants: Destroy them all!" The shadow wizard forces magically duplicate themselves times ten, becoming hundreds. The leading shadow wizards in white and yellow shouts, "destroy their spirits: Until we see the fear in their eyes!" The shadow wizard forces and spirit flame spirits battle cry as they charge for each other. Mega appears by Fury in sickly excitement, "let the games begin! Let the games begin!"
Spirit flame spirits ram charge into falling shadow wizard forces. The shadow wizards and apprentices fire whirlwinds and water blasts into falling spirit flame spirits. Mega and Fury fly over the elemental battlefield, constantly turning falling shadow wizards and falling apprentices into spirit flame spirits. The shadow wizards and apprentices keep duplicating. Spirit flame trails of destruction spread lightning quick, over Greek hills and their dying olive trees.
Forty mortal minutes later…
With no sign of stopping, the battle carries on through several Greek cities. Tens of thousands are evacuating by themselves, despite dark green uniformed police officers under the shadow wizards's mind control trying to stop them. Most of the mind controlled police officers get lost in the burning city ruins. And with explosion after explosion, Devastator Woman laughs like mad. She is now fully seen: Wearing very dark green rimmed black Amazon battle wear, with the exception of a black starred dark red tiara. She draws up lava flows from the Earth itself, melting Greek buildings to steam. In the bright red lava, building pieces float around like stepping stones. She slightly sighs, "aww...all gone."
A certain golden lasso gets around one of the Greek house's flat roof corners. Seconds later, Wonder Woman uses the golden lasso to swing kicks Devastator Woman into the lava. Wonder Woman mutters, "should've thought of that before." She barely lands on a melting piece of building. Retracting the golden lasso, Wonder Woman comments, "who do you think you are anyway?!" Devastator Woman just shakes off the lava, fly charging for her. She laughs, "why…don't mind if I do. I'm Devastator Woman, your very own destruction!"
In backwards mid-tumble, Wonder Woman is nearly punched off her piece of building. Flying back around, Devastator Woman laughs madly, "this is fun!" She water blasts Wonder Woman with one hand, while Wonder Woman tries to jump onto a second building piece. In sync with this, Devastator Woman lightning blasts the water blast with the other hand. An electrically shocked Wonder Woman coughs hard, against the collapsing flat roof of a yet to be melted Greek house. She crashes into a then smashed wooden table, with moderate cracking.
Slightly groaning, Wonder Woman looks out to the coming near lava flow.
Over the flaming lava, the spirit flame spirits just keep charging against floating shadow wizard forces. Neither forces notice the ruins. Higher above them all, Mega and Fury don't seem to even care. In that moment, Wonder Woman knew that Devastator Woman's lava flows were about to melt all of Greece…followed by the rest of civilization. Devastator Woman fly charges for Wonder Woman, through the open roof. A dark blue spirit energy covered Wonder Woman knows too well a spirit energy restoration charge wouldn't be quick enough to survive.
Devastator Woman cries out, "say hello…to destruction!" Wonder Woman then thinks out loud, "yours…or mine?!" Devastator Woman floats over her, pausing.
Devastator Woman replies, "what could possibly destroy me, the embodiment of The Devastation? I am devastation!" Wonder Woman implies coldly, "and when there's nothing left to devastate, where would your fun be?" Teary eyed, Devastation Woman considers, "it…would be all gone." Wonder Woman darkly adds, "if you destroy all mortals, you destroy yourself. But…slight chuckle…gods and goddesses have a way of coming back for more. The Furial, for one thing: They're an all Olympian goddess club."
Devastator Woman laughs, "I knew of none…that could be so much fun!" She appears within the lava, using god time to help herself water blast them in all directions into rock. Devastator Woman laughs twistedly, "oh, the god damning Devastation: Wanting all the great destruction for yourself. Well, you can't have any!" In her head, The Devastation's very distorted voice cries out, "no!"
Devastator Woman generates two huge wind gusts, launching miles and miles of goddess rock straight into Fury and Mega. In their true goddess forms of Aresia and Artemis, they gasp as they are buried in towers of rock. The spirit flame spirit forces vanish from sight, along with Athena as a bittersweetly smiling Alecca.
Wonder Woman, by now moderately restored, gets back to her feet. The Greek streets and hill no longer burn or look as though they've been burned, welcoming in early nighttime in Greece. Slowly returning Greek citizens are mostly thankful for being free from mind controlled police and lava, but are also very sleepy and mostly just return home. Wonder Woman slightly groans, "a little more painful than I thought, but still completely worth it."
Meanwhile, in Lyla's bedroom on Paradise Island…
On her dark blue dresser, Lyla has a dark orange liquid like cosmic crystal ball called the Universe Orb on a small gold pedestal. Lyla wears a ruby dress, with a big white star in the center. She faces the Universe Orb's now forming vision: Of a fluctuating Artemis covering the world in darkness, but being split between being a goddess…and a god. Very shaken, Lyla gasps, "it…can't be." Then dancing lights appears in the Universe Orb. Lyla cries out, "no!" The dancing lights cloak her Amazon body, until a darkly smiling Lyla appears in her place. In a Artemis like voice, this dark Lyla laughs to herself, "all Men…all Women…will fall before me!"
