Chapter 14

Thank you to everyone who still reads this story, I know there was a super long hiatus. I have no excuse except for school.

"WHO IS THE FATHER!?" Caitlyn yelled. She began walking towards Bree.

"Why do you care who the father is? It's not your kid," Bree said back.

"I am in charge here! You must OBEY ME!"

"We are in charge here. I don't have to obey anyone,"

"You have to obey me," Caitlyn smiled, "you are no longer in charge here,"

"What are you talking about?" Bree asked. Caitlyn looked at one of the guards behind her, and he came up, and grabbed Bree. She struggled to get free but it was useless.

"Put her downstairs with the rest of the rebels," Caitlyn said, then she looked directly at Bree, "you can spend the rest of your short, miserable life there. Without your boyfriend,""

The guard began dragging her from the room. Caitlyn watched her go, her stone ace showing no emotion. She was the ruler of these people after all, was she not? She could do to them whatever she wanted to. She had thought that since she was five years old. She was starting to second guess herself, but then she pushed all those thoughts out of her mind. She was angry with Bree and every other person who had disobeyed her. She would capture and kill them all. Beginning with Adam and Chase.

"Your majesty," a guard called, "there are some people here to see you,"

"Ugh," she said, "send them in,"

Caitlyn got up on her throne, and put on her crown. She sat up straight and tall, trying to look as official as possible. The doors to the throne room opened, and she heard the clanking of chains. They came around in front of her, and lo and behold, there was Chase Davenport. She smiled.

"Chase," she laughed, "you didn't make it very far, did you?"

"Nope," he said.

"Put him downstairs," Caitlyn said, "you will die tomorrow. No matter what happens, you will be dead by tomorrow,"

"Good to know," Chase said. Two guards took him, and brought him downstairs. He was thrown in a large room in the dungeon. It was dark, and he couldn't see anything. He stood up, and began moving around, trying to find something or someone.

"Hello?" a voice called. Chase recognized the voice. He sighed in relief.

"Bree?" he said, "is that you?"

"Chase!" she said excitedly. Her eyes had already adjusted to the darkness, so she could see the outline of his body. She ran to him, and flung herself into his arms. Chase, who was not expecting it, stumbled back a little, but still wrapped his arms around her tightly.

"I'm so glad you're ok," she said.

"I'm glad you're ok too," he said, "but I came back to get you out,"

"Why?"

"The rebels are coming to attack. Tonight. And they're going to kill you if you don't get out,"

"What about you?"

"As long as I get out of here by tomorrow I'm all good,"

"Why by tomorrow?"

"Caitlyn wants me dead by tomorrow," Chase smiled, but she couldn't see it. The two laughed a little.

"So what do we do?" she asked.

"I don't know. I'm still working on that part. You've gotta give me some time," Chase moved towards the wall, that he could now see because his eyes had adjusted. He pressed his back to it, and slid down. Bree slid down next to him. He exhaled loudly, and began to think.

They woke up to the sounds of screaming, and yelling. Chase stood up quickly, and pulled Bree up with him. They looked at the outline at the door.

"They're here," Bree said.

"We're dead," Chase exhaled.

"We?" she asked.

"Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that the rebellion wants my head on a platter,"

"What did you do?!"

"I did nothing. They think I'm a spy for you!"

"Oh god,"

"Hey, hey it's not your fault! It's there idiocy,"

The shouting got closer; they were coming down the stairs. Chase swallowed.

"Just know, whatever happens, I love you," he kissed her as the lights flickered on. He put a hand on her stomach, "and don't let anything happen to yourself. Don't worry about me. Promise?"

"I'm not promising anything,"

"You need to promise me this," Chase said, "promise me this. Please!"

"Fine," she said, "I promise,"

The door burst open. Both of them looked up. A group of men walked into the room.

"If you're here for her," Chase said, "you can leave,"

"I have specific orders to capture you, and anyone else outside of the prison. I have no specific orders, about her," the man who seemed to be the leader of the group, pointed at Bree, "but take her too. Until Douglas says otherwise,"

The men in the group move towards the two of them. Chase bit his bottom lip, and looked Bree in the eye. He made sure he remembered the look of her eyes because he had a feeling it might be the last time he saw them.
