His Butler: Flying

"All in all, there are quite a few suspicious characters on this train." Sebastian commented as the group made their way down the first class corridor.

"Quite the understatement, Mr. Michaelis." Quipped Viola.

"Please, call me Sebastian, my Lady." He said, offering her a polite grin.

Claude's eyes narrowed on the crow demon then.

"Don't you think you're being too familiar, Michaelis?" He murmured, chiding the demon on his forwardness.

"Not particularly. It's not as if this is Lady Viola and my first meeting, after all." Sebastian explained. His expression was so undeniably taunting, it seemed as if he might wink at the spider demon.

Viola had to keep herself from delivering a swift kick to Sebastian's shin to shut him up. The possible repercussions of such a statement could be quite undesirable for her. Not to mention, Ceil had no clue that they had met before. Reveling that would be a big mistake.

"Hrrm," Ciel interrupted, clearing his throat. "Let us go over the list of suspects shall we?" The boy seemed clearly annoyed by the two demons less than sporting behavior. Their little quarrel had gone on quite enough for his liking. They were on a mission after all.

The group turned their attention to the young earl as he continued. "A priest with strange tattoos, a sham archeologist, a surly Japanese man, and a maniac obsessed with times tables… quite an odd group, but I doubt the kidnapper would want to stand out."

"Let us not forget the assassin who is traveling aboard as well." Sebastian reminded him.

Just then, the door behind them opened and a man in a brown suit and snap-brim cap entered the car. He firmly held on to the front of his cap, coving his face as he walked down the isle.

"Excuse me," he said as he sidled passed Viola's full skirts in the narrow space.

In order to avoid being knocked into, she had to press into Sebastian who gallantly took hold of her arms to steady her. Her heart now thudded in her chest, embarrassed that she was practically flush against crow demon.

"Mind where you place your hands, Michaelis." Claude warned, his sharp golden eyes shooting him a territorial glare.

The crow demon merely smirked at the spider. "I'm being most careful. We would not want the young lady to fall."

Ciel was about to admonish the two butlers once more until he caught sight of the stranger. His sapphire eyes grew wide as he spotted some nasty looking scratches on the back of the man's hand. He had seen these injuries somewhere before… back when Finny knocked into the porter carrying the mummy's coffin causing him to drop it on his hand. Remembering this, the boy immediately grabbed hold of the man without pause.

"Hey! You're the porter from the station. What are you doing aboard the train dressed as a passenger?" Demanded Ciel, catching everyone's attention.

"Damn!" The man hissed, wrenching his arm from Ciel's grasp and running down the isle.

"He's the kidnapper!" Cried Ciel.

Jumping into action, both Ciel and Viola chased the man down the isle, the latter gaining on him because of her longer legs.

"Stop!" She cried, willing herself to go faster. At this moment, she was only thinking the little boy in peril.

The kidnapper burst out the door into the other car and Viola blindly followed after him. Seeing he had a pursuer, he whipped around to face her. He was surprised to see that it was the woman who had caught up to him first.

"So, we got a brave one, eh?" Sneered the kidnapper as he pushed Viola out of his way and made quick work of separating the train cars.

By the time Ciel reached the door, the car was already uncoupled from the rest of the train, the gap between the two becoming too wide to breech.

"Don't let him go, Sebastian!" The boy ordered.

The crow demon nodded, before jumping from the speeding train after the kidnapper. Seeing Claude about to jump across the gap as well, Viola immediately held out her hand to stop him.

"No, Claude! Stay with Ciel and save the child!" She ordered.

As much as Claude wanted to ignore her request, he needed to keep up appearances in front of the boy. Jumping that great distance would reveal him as a demon. Furthermore, he knew that Sebastian and his frustrating obsession with chivalry would ensure Viola's safety.

"Come, Sebastian will take care of the kidnapper," Ciel told Claude, turning away from the door and heading inside. The demon begrudgingly followed.

SPIDERCROWSPIDERCROWSPIDERCROWSPIDERCROW

Viola knew she didn't have many options at this point. So, when the kidnapper turned to face her, she raised her fists and fixed him with a determined stare. The man only laughed at her.

"What's a proper girly like you gonna do to me? Get over there with the old man!" He barked, grabbing Viola by the arm and attempting to drag her along with him.

Clenching her jaw and hauling her fist back, she punched him square in the face. It was the first time she had ever punched a man and she had to say she felt pretty justified in doing it. As a result of her efforts, the kidnapper loosened his hold and she backed up into Sebastian who had just landed in the train car. Letting out a little yelp, she turned to face him. He fixed her with that disturbingly polite smile.

"Impressive shot, Miss Viola, but I believe you can leave the rest to me." He told the young woman.

Lord Acaroid, who had been watching from the back, simply stared at the scene in confusion and fear. The kidnapper then pulled a gun on the old man, demanding he hand over the money or else his boy's life was forfeit. Lord Acaroid clutched his briefcase in front of his chest in fear. Just then, the clicking of another gun could be heard from behind them and the kidnapper's eyes widened as he felt the barrel of a pistol being pressed to the back of his head.

"You really should worry about your own life at this juncture," said the demon.

"Who the hell are you?" Demanded the kidnapper as he slowly turned around and raised his arms in surrender.

"Where are you keeping your young hostage?" Asked Sebastian in a taunting manner as he leveled the gun at the man's face.

"Well the boy's still onboard the train, but it's too late unfortunately. You can't save him now."

"Oh, why's that?"

"I planted a bomb, I set it to explode as soon as the train stops. My plan was to collect the ransom money and then I'd celebrate with some fireworks!" He began laughing uncontrollably then, throwing his arms up in the air as Lord Acaroid fell to his knees in shock.

Viola gasped, her eyes widening in fear at the realization of what was about to happen. "Claude… my god, all those people! You monster!" She yelled, wanting nothing more than to hit the man again.

Sebastian then flipped open his pocket watch. "We have ten minutes before the train reaches the next station."

"Serves you right, you lousy bast- ahhhhhh!" The kidnapper was about to finish his sentence when Sebastian kicked him so hard in the stomach he flew out the window.

"Well done." Viola nodded, satisfied as she stared at the broken glass. The demon silently commend her on her feistiness.

"There isn't much time, Miss Viola," he said as he suddenly scooped her up in his arms bridal style. The aristocratic woman's face practically glowed red as she questioningly met his ruby gaze. Those eyes made her heart quicken.

"Forgive me, but we must move with haste." He told her before launching out of the train car and sprinting down the tracks. The young woman suppressed a fearful cry as she clutched to him tightly. His speed was so ungodly fast that the shock made Viola forget how intimately they were holding on to one another.

Soon, they were leaping through the trees, shooting from one branch to another. At this point, Viola no longer cared how dangerous this seemed. All she wanted was to get to the train so they could save the passengers.

Landing on a branch just on the other side of the forest, Sebastian observed the train as it neared the next station. There was no time to stop it now. Their only choice was to divert its rout.

"The junction, there!" Cried Viola, as she pointed to a fork in the tracks.

"Very good, my Lady," Sebastian smirked as he set the woman down on the branch.

Springing into the air, the demon reached into his coat and expertly threw three knives down at the fork in the tracks. They sailed through the air and hit the leavers at the control station, changing the tracks and diverting the train.

"That should buy us some time," he told her, lifting her in his arms once more.

Sebastian then jumped off the branch and headed down towards the speeding train. Viola wrapped her arms tightly around his neck as he leaped from the steep hillside and onto the engine.

Hearing a something behind him, the conductor whipped around in confusion, gasping upon seeing two people atop the coal box. One was a dapper butler and the other was a striking woman in a burgundy dress… two people who clearly didn't belong atop a coal heap.

"Pardon me! Listen carefully," the butler spoke. "There is a bomb on this train that is set to go off when we stop. Under no circumstances are you to break."

With that, the handsome pair disappeared into the fist car.

"Wait, what?!" The conductor shouted after them, completely perplexed.

AN: REVIEW FAVOR FOLLOW! Thank you so much to everyone who has read and enjoyed my story so far. I really appreciate it. We have one more chapter for the crazy train episode and after that things get quite serious again. As for this chapter I tried to reveal some of the rivalry between Claude and Sebastian, also a bit more on how Sebastian and Viola vibe together. As a pairing, I believe they have a while to go before sparks fly but there's definitely something there, no?
