I OWN NOTHING

Well, as a certain onion said in my PS2, let's get romantic. That or I could take advice from Tupac Shakur for this NON-date and have Naruto be real to the girl… or have my own crazy fun, yes, I'll go with that.

Evening with poison

"You sure you want to be here? I mean, dark place, plenty of people to blend around, you know it's gonna be a strange situation just by the title."

Snorting at her bodyguard's words, Pamela Isley walked with the loyal and chivalrous if naïve and knuckleheaded blond in tow as they entered a cinema, "Come on, Naruto, it won't be that bad. Besides, I have you by my side, so there's nothing for me to fret over."

The blond tilted down his black cap with a hand, hiding his eyes, "Well, let me be honest about why I think this is a bad idea… I'm pretty much immune to this kind of movie." He said as both him and the redhead stared at a poster showing a massive humanoid made of what looked like mud or clay, a random attractive blonde bimbo in one of its massive arms, "Horror movies just don't impress me much." It was an honest statement, facing creeps like Orochimaru, staring at demons at a young age, and not to mention facing a godlike asshole who tried to kill everyone he cared about for pettiness made a movie about monsters rather… dull.

Pam smiled, "The main actor, who also does the monster, is one of my favorites, not to mention the guy doing the effects is the same man behind Mysterio."

"You mean the movie about that psycho wizard? Huh, that was… kinda fun, I'll admit." He said with both eyebrows raised as he remembered an image with a man in green with a purple cape and, weirdly enough, a crystal bowl over his face. The movie had been about a magician seeking revenge on those who wronged him, and doing so with a righteous agenda so Naruto managed to sympathize with the character.

In short, dear audience, Naruto and Pam were at the movies after a good meal. Naruto himself wasn't the kind of person who enjoyed some movies, teenage romance movies were best summed up by the Wilson family as just some selfish dream women had. The blond was glad his client didn't want to drag him to a movie that supposedly had supernatural beings but also romance, but that every sane person claimed was just a teenage fantasy for men fighting over the main girl while she did nothing at all. The blond also had a slight dislike for horror films, unless they were Asian. Nothing against American film industry but for a kid whose life had been mostly fights against really creepy bastards, watching stereotypes of what some grumpy person with no life would think teenagers were like getting killed for being idiots didn't exactly ignite anything. Give this to Asia and its horror, it may be slow but they at least kept the monsters hidden to give a sense of oppression while making sure the audience knew something could get them.

The environmentalist chuckled, "I still prefer different kinds of horror movies, but I'm watching his mainly because… well, it's Matt Hagen, one of the most charismatic actors out there. He can make bad roles in movies actually work… even if some of the movies he's been in kinda suck, he's always managed to shine."

The blond stepped back a bit, "Ok, ok, so you're a fan."

The redhead flushed a bit, her cheeks getting greener, "Well, he's a very competent actor. Some of his movies have been ridiculous but he's, well, he's fun. Still, I'd rather watch something like The Red Shoes over some of his horror movies anytime." Naruto blinked and turned at her, making the redhead feel a bit smaller than she was, "Oh… um, it's an Asian horror movie about cursed shoes. It's rather good."

He arched a brow, "The one with the weird shoes brainwashing those who see them, right? Man… that did creep me out a bit, though the plot was far too weird, the little girl was a brat, and the shoes were actually pink." He then leaned closer to his client, "But you're into that kind of movie?"

Shrugging seemed to be her best response along, "What? I'm capable of enjoying strange stuff in my free time whenever I want. Or did you expect me to watch movies about some selfish woman getting her whims done, or girls getting some bland boy to serve them without a second thought?" she said, sounding defensive on the last question rather than being on the offensive.

Raising his hands defensively was his best option, "Just saying, I'm not much into horror movies. Action is a yes, especially ones with good martial arts and funny characters. To scare me you need something like… like a really creepy man obsessed with experimenting on people with a delight for causing suffering… but some movies I've watched doing that haven't really gotten it to the level I expect to feel chills."

Finally getting the best way to calm down her bodyguard about the movie perhaps being bad for him, Pamela spoke, "Just watch it, then we can speak about whether or not it was good."

Defeated by her logic, Naruto slumped and paid for his ticket, a large bucket of popcorn for him and a small one for Pamela, nachos for himself, a large cola for him too and a medium sized one for the redhead, and chewing gum, mint-flavored to wash the aftertaste of the junk food. He had asked the girl if she wanted anything else, but she had politely declined, mainly because her stomach wasn't as bottomless as his. His high metabolism was something to be both awed and slightly terrified at considering what he could devour in seconds.

But did she have fun with him? Well, being walked by a rather handsome blond - while getting a few jealous stares from other girls - who was really nice if bizarrely out of place was… it was weird, yes, but it made her feel… weird. How to put it into words? Pamela could try to analyze it but it really was too simple, and while she wanted a deeper explanation to try to justify how this guy who was so bizarre even when compared to a green skinned girl who controlled the flora like Mother Nature could make her feel this way, she just couldn't. The answer was as simple and complex as this: he made her feel less lonely.

Here he was, chatting with her about movies, like a normal human being with a good friend. Then he bought her some food for this movie, and even accompanied her despite having some second thoughts. It was… It was strange but also welcomed. He just tried to make her company, make her feel comfortable, and help her feel happy, not safe like his job was telling him to do by obligation, but happy like a friend would with another friend. Naruto just stayed by her side and tried to make her feel comfortable about her choices for the evening, and while sometimes he could be awkward, he tried his best to be polite and tried even harder to make things work, and making those things work right.

That was the only explanation, he was nice. But where some people would ignore her green skin, others would insult her green skin, or try to accept her for having green skin, the blond did something she thought wonderful in her eyes: he accepted Pam for who she was. Not as a green girl, not as an environmentalist genius with powers, not even as his client, but he accepted the redhead for the girl she was.

"So, anything to look forward during the movie?" The blond asked as he took a seat while putting down his tray of junk food.

Pam smiled, having a few good ideas as she took a sip from her drink, "How about just enjoying time together…?" and then she caught herself, and thanked her lucky stars the lights started to turn off in the room, "I mean, watching this movie together… As in, we could try to criticize some of it for the laughs… though that could get us kicked out and-"

"Hey, shut up!" a loud man from a row beneath them shouted as he turned to them, "I don't wanna miss the previews because-" and just as he tried to come up with an insult, he was silenced when he noticed the blond youth staring at him… for just a second he swore he could see the kid's eyes turn red… "Because… Because there could be good movies…" he finished and returned to his seat.

Pam blinked, unable to see Naruto rubbing his eyes to hide and return them to normal.

Meanwhile, in another room, a certain blonde known as Harley to some good friends, stood before the redhead alien with her once mentor and now colleague Hugo Strange outside. The bald, bearded doctor had left the two women in his office with the pigtailed one staring calmly at the curly haired girl. Both had calm smiles, but while Harleen's was truly serene and even cheerful, Starfire's remained in that fake innocent tone that spoke of her bloodlust… but they were talking.

"So, this Naruto who defeated you didn't happen to be a cute kid with whiskers, blond hair, and a rather incredulous if adorable look on his face?" she asked, and while she had been surprised by the news, part of her was inwardly chanting, 'You go Red! Congrats on getting a cute boyfriend!' was one of the thoughts in her head, along, 'I wonder if the boss would go that far for me… Heh, he definitely would.' She calmly shook those thoughts away and listened to the redhead.

Kori giggled, "Fufufu… He was more than good looking if that is your question, friend. He gave me such a thrill in our fight, but also kept such ridiculous beliefs… Have you any idea how many people I fought and defeated who thought they were in the right with things such as honor, duty, and righteousness? About as many as there are teeth in one of my pets back at my home planet."

Harleen raised a brow, "So… we're talking around two digits?"

The young doctor had to subconsciously step back at the grin she got, it was just so… so pleased, like the alien girl was basking in an afterglow, "Four digits and nearly five… Hehehe… But among all of them he was the most fun. The way his strong, battle hardened body felt pressed against mine as we flew up with him in my grip, how his sweat was rubbing into my skin, and the way his skin shuddered as I savored his blood with my tongue gave me wonderful… tingles, I believe is the correct word here."

Harleen could see how and why her mentor had run off from this, but she was a woman and, dare she admit it, her fantasies were weird too. "I do admit the thrill of having a man obeying you is a thrill, trust me, us girls go through that when we hit puberty. Having them constantly give you a wonderful chill whenever you want or need it is a dream. And it's just that, sadly, a dream."

Starfire giggled, "But my dream was as real as the heat between our touching torsos. So much I can't wait for the next time we do battle… His blood was just so… unique in taste, so…"

The moan she gave did unnerve the seemingly airheaded doctor, "Huh, reminds me of the time I dreamt of things like this. Sadly my fantasies were more on the submissive side. But one truth is shared by both, girl: they want to feel control over something. Submissive people want to feel like their life is controlled and kept in order, and I had to grow out of that, and I did it thanks to some kung fu lessons. But dominant people like you need control over something in their life, to take order in their hands and mold the world to their whims. You want that, and I will be blunt, you feel like you need it for something."

A giggle was all Harleen got as Starfire looked down, her hair covering her face slightly as she looked at her boots, "Friend, you have no idea what it is that I want to control… And you are wrong, I do control it already. I control how I want to live my life," here she looked at the blonde directly in the eye, "And the control I have has been made more intoxicating when I felt someone fighting back on terms equal to mine… Hehehe, that's why I want to see him again, I want to have more of a taste from Friend Naruto. I can already imagine what I'd do with him…"

Harleen blinked as, quite true to her words, Starfire had closed her eyes and gone to her own land of imagination. The blonde snapped her fingers, to no avail, "Wonder what she's dreaming."

Back to Naruto, Pam sighed with a half content smile as her bodyguard rested calmly. Due to the movie failing to scare him after having faced people like Orochimaru, he had gone to sleep due to a very bad drama that concerned teens being stupid stereotypes that even Pamela found insulting. She also considered getting a quick nap, but she wanted to see the hormonal teenagers getting what they deserved after beating the crap out of an elderly woman and throwing her groceries at the poor grandma before taking her car. Why? Because the kids were evil, no other reason, though it worked to make the hero played by Matt Hagen feel much more likeable as he hunted them down for revenge after they burned his laboratory. Matt played a teacher who tried to calm ruthless students, only to be kicked by them into radioactive clay.

And as stupid as that concept was, Pamela was having fun watching a monster made of clay – actually a costume that looked ridiculously realistic – punishing the teens. The funny thing was that the monster, despite having Matt Hagen inside giving it facial expressions, was voiced by Patrick Stewart, "You've taken too much from me and others…" said the Star Trek symbol through Matt Hagen's mouth, "Sadly for you, you don't have enough to pay back." The clay monster, now known as Clayface, said threateningly as he chased after the horny delinquents.

Pamela looked at the blond and wondered whether or not to wake him up for the death. So far the movie had Clayface suffocating a corrupt cop with mouthfuls of clay, and compressing the ribs of a drug dealer beating a hooker until the dealer's organs flew out of his mouth. The effects were ridiculously real too, and all without CGI. It seems that the one behind the special effects was having a blast. That made Naruto look at the screen with interest, but when having two criminals who were far too unlikeable trying to be romantic, he had to saw logs.

But something strange happened as he closed his eyes… Naruto found himself standing in a dark room, "Huh, this is strange enough." He said to himself as he looked around, "So… where am I?" He tried to find an exit, only to be greeted by a grinning Starfire, "Yeow!" The blond yelped as he jumped back, his first experience with the alien sadist showing its mental scars now.

"Hello, my friend." She said with a slight drawl, making her voice ridiculously sensual there.

"W-What're you here for?" he asked as he got into a battle ready position, only to look down and find a bloated belly that she was caressing. "What is that?"

As he asked that, the grin she gave him sent horrible chills down his spine, "Oh, this…" and then her grin widened as she ended her sentence with a loving smile, "It's our baby."

Pamela was about to nudge Naruto to have him watch the Clayface monster rip apart one of the teens in two, only for him to wake up with a loud, "YYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"

Naruto was lucky that his scream matched that of now split in two teen, though it helped the atmosphere to make some people piss themselves. Pam stared at him with wide eyes as her bodyguard panted hard in ragged breaths, holding his head and looking around with twitchy eyes and cold sweat on his face, "Did the movie actually give you a nightmare?" she asked.

Naruto looked at her, put a hand on his face to rub the bad sensations off, and replied, "No, it was something far more terrifying." He leaned on his chair and kept on watching the movie, "I don't think there could have been anything more terrifying… ok, maybe having a psychopath Tsundere after me, but I don't think I do."

Pam blinked, "Okaaaayyy… hey, can I take some of your popcorn?"

"Sure."

Megan tried to look at her captors, well not really the captors but in her eyes keeping her like this for interrogation was making them look more like torture enthusiasts. No telepathy, no shape shifting, and no way for her to make edible food made her a dull gal. It wasn't that she hated vegetarian food, but she loved to cook, and so far the only one pleased with the menu was Beastboy.

Now with the alien sadist calmed down, Dr. Hugo could finally do his job in a calmer environment, and with some help, "Come on, I don't believe you don't want to talk to us about anything when your friends were more open." He said with a cheerful smile, looking for a reaction as he did his best to read the girl's actions.

She scowled at him, "Friends is the term Koriand'r uses to describe possible targets. Trust me, I don't like being called that around them."

Harleen stepped forward with a smile, "Well, we do know you were the one who that boy went more out on. You still had trouble healing when you got back."

Megan scoffed, "That doesn't mean anything! He just took me by surprise. That annoying Fishcake…"

Hugo inwardly smiled, "So you were close enough to him to get to call him Fishcake, huh? Interesting, did you happen to actually talk to him? And please be honest, I can tell you had more than just trash talk with him by how you referred to him now."

The redhead gritted her teeth, but after a while she sighed in defeat, "Fishcake, I mean… Naruto was just playing with me. He just used a friendly chat to try to get close to me and defeat me. It's what he's done with everyone that has arrived to this prison. And what's worse, is that they think so highly of him. At least Raven knows he needs to be put in his place."

Harleen saw something with her womanly intuition, "Naruto hurt you, but not physically."

Megan huffed, looking away, "He hurt my pride, is all… He dared to talk to me like I was his friend, he even… smiled and everything, he was so nice, so kind, and he also seemed to have no problem with how I looked… In fact he… he did accept my looks, he never stared at me for my green skin… Although he only looked at my freckles and… Why am I rambling about this to you?!" she asked in anger as she caught herself.

Harleen for her part tried with all her might to hide a vixen's grin, she just knew what was on the girl's head. So she put it in an indirect way, "What hurt you was that he got to you, right?"

The Martian girl looked at the blonde, "You could say that, he… he made me talk to him like I was his friend. It was like he just didn't care about the fight, like he was genuinely concerned about me. But that idiot, that… that moron just used it to get to me and defeat me with all of his tricks!" she said loudly, not a scream but her raised voice showed her anger.

Hugo raised a brow, "So… what did it all make you feel? Having Naruto being close to you, not how he used that, I mean."

Megan crossed her arms under her breasts as best she could despite the bracelets keeping her hands together and shape shifting under control, so she put her hands over her chest in the end, "It was… it was weird… I don't know, ok? He was just… really nice. He made me feel… weird. He was so close to me I even felt his warmth but despite all of that, even as I read his emotions, he didn't show any sign of a will to fight me… But I know he was hiding his intentions as best as he could… Even though his curiosity about my cooking felt genuine and… even his jokes were… funny…"

The two doctors had to be thankful the collar made the alien girl unable to read their minds, for their thoughts were the same: she was a Tsundere. It was rather hilarious, to see her admit she liked what he did but try to say she hated it. Though Harleen saw the problem clearly: "Hun, I think the problem you have is not that he deceived you, but that you liked how nice he was while it lasted."

The red on Megan's cheeks matched her face very well, not to mention the look on her face would forever be burned into the memories of the doctors as the most adorable denial face ever, "No! He's an idiot! How could I like someone who has a charming smile, a cute butt, and care in every word he speaks?! He's just an… an annoying Fishcake!" then she let her head fall down in defeat, feeling ready to cry in shame.

"You're cruel." Hugo stated to his co-worker.

"A girl's gotta be honest with herself and face reality sooner or later." Harley said with a mere shrug.

Naruto and Pam had gone somewhere he never thought he'd be at with a girl, seeking for objects he never expected to see. "You sure about this?" he asked genuinely confused as he neared the door.

"Of course, I had this planned for after we met." The redhead said from behind the door as the blond held back a groan, "I know it may be boring but it was a bit of a last minute call. The mayor contracted you for the sake of this project, and the city was paying for the project while Wayne would put the image of a good guy yet again, but the rest… well, it had to come from my pocket."

Naruto leaned near the door, arms crossed, "So, you wanted me to help you with this?"

"No, but since you're here and you…" here she paused, looking at herself from head to toes as she considered her words… she wanted to say she trusted him, that she had enough fondness of him to ask him for his opinion, but the girl wasn't as social as she wished she could be so she tried to thick of something else, "…you're gonna be there too I could use your opinion."

Naruto tilted his cap all the way down to hide his face from the whispering ladies who stared at him too much. He didn't know if he found the stares annoying or if there was something that made him nervous about so much attention put into him from girls. 'Ugh, the teme was used to this because he ignored it and gave girls the same worth as an used chewing gum. I don't wanna look rude but… how am I supposed to deal with this and get them to stop staring?' he finally voiced his thoughts, "How about I pick the next place? You owe it to me, pulling me to no-man's land."

His client snorted dismissively, "Oh please, don't be so melodramatic, it's just a dress." She said as she moved out of the small changing room and showed herself.

Instantly, and I mean instantly, all of Naruto's thoughts about disliking this place were gone as soon as he saw the redhead in a wonderful dress. She wore single piece, olive green in color which matched her skin and made her hair look even more like a rose, with simple black high heel shoes that while ridiculously simplistic added charm to it all. Her legs were hidden by the long skirt but there was a slit by her left knee to show a bit of her shapely curves. The torso was neatly hugged without showing any marks and yet making an emphasis on her lovely silhouette. The top had only two very short sleeves that barely hid her shoulders, but it showed her back wonderfully as he could see from the mirror behind her, and the front… He forced his eyes to meet hers, that top showed enough of her cleavage to make her incredibly lovely, the figure of her breasts blossoming gorgeously but keeping her incredibly decent and modest at the same time just by tightening around her figure and showing the minimum piece of skin to be sensual.

The redhead found his impression of a fish out of water rather accurate as he gaped, "Um…" he intelligently proclaimed at the best of his mental capacity.

She giggled, "Do I really look that good?" she asked.

He nodded, and that was more than enough to make the girls who had stared at the cute and also handsome mercenary inwardly groan in defeat. Naruto wondered why he felt some killing intent aimed at Pam but found it to be rather… lacking, as if all of it combined wasn't even nearly enough to measure to a real threat.

Shrugging off that thought, he spoke out loud, "Well, I guess I better suit up then."

And he regretted his words when Pam grinned and pulled him by his arm, "Then let's find you something good!"

Connor sat before the two gaping doctors, "What's the problem?"

He asked that so suddenly that Dr. Hugo shook in shock, "Sorry, it's just… well, you are the first one of all the Titans that admits he respects Naruto."

The weapon scoffed, "I got to know him… He was a good fighter, he treated me as his equal and even fought me on my level to have a fair fight, only showing more of his power the more strength I unleashed. I even fought him in a game of cards for kids and lost… He could have cheated, though, but I don't believe that, no… I don't think I can believe he'd cheat on something like that."

Harleen blinked, "So… you don't resent him?"

Connor looked at her curiously, before putting a hand to his chin, "I guess he only irritates me. He is annoying, he's loud, he's a complete fool, and all he does seems to be either luck or some plan pulled out of despair that somehow works. If not that, he somehow manages a way to overpower others with that sheer luck or insane wit. It's what made me… respect him." He closed his eyes as he tried to explain himself, "I guess… it was fun having someone who considered me an equal. Even if his playfulness was annoying, I ended up… having fun."

The two doctors stared at the teen who seemed so serene and calm when speaking so nicely of the one who defeated him. It was like he had… dare they say it, a friend… or perhaps a worthy rival was more like it, but for a moment they both imagined that Connor was talking of a friend, not Naruto. Whatever Naruto did, it seemed he somehow managed to change people. Here they had a kid whose back story was anger and rage, and he was talking of the boy who beat him like he would of a sparring partner.

It seemed this whiskered merc had the power to make friends with the most unlikely people when he put his mind into it.

But that thought ended when the black haired boy tightened his fist and slammed it into his palm, "I also want to become stronger… Next time I face him, I want to fight him better, to be able to trade blows on that level of skill he has, if only to show him what I'm really made of."

Harleen whispered her thoughts to her old mentor, "Seems like he's found a goal."

Hugo nodded slightly, whispering back, "A goal can work for better or worse, it seems the end result will also fall on Naruto."

Possibly having to take Naruto to her department and wonder whether or not to let him in was the most difficult and scary choice she had made the entire day, Pamela could just chuckle, "So… this is it… Home sweet home… hehehe…" both were in a three stories complex, her room on the top floor, and her key unlocking the door.

Naruto tried to calm her down with a grin, "Listen, if you don't feel comfortable because I'm a guy, I could-"

"No! No, it's not that, it's just… well, I never had anyone over before and it's… a bit weird…"

"Oh… okay… so… can we order pizza?"

"Wha… you…" Pam did a double take on him, blinking once as she stared incredulously at the blond, before something came out at his randomness, "Heh… Hahaha… Yeah… Yeah, I guess." She couldn't hide her smile at how spontaneous that was, and how he tried to blend in yet again in her life. She shook her head, and opened the door. "I'm sorry, it is strange to have finally someone here… Sorry if it's messy."

Naruto entered the place, whistled in amazement as he took it all in, and was as honest as he could be, "You should've seen my room when I was a kid if you think this is messy."

The place was nice, quite roomy and already had its furniture, green as she loved it. It had a minimalistic kitchen near its entrance, not much on it except a small counter with fresh fruit. Next to it was the modest living room next to a window, the living room was meant for four people at most with a couch and sofa before the coffee table in front of the flat screen TV. And at the other side of the room, behind the couch, was a wall with a double door that led to Pam's bedroom, it had a queen sized bed, a closet in one side, no window, and on the other side was the bathroom, pretty simple with nothing but the essentials: a shower and toilet of those that save water.

So now here he was, with a beautiful girl in her apartment, and only one question remained, "So I guess I shall take the couch." He stated as he turned to his client. as he set down their shopping bags with their clothes for the party they had been invited to. He had also gotten his luggage hours ago from the police force, so he was ready to sleep once he got changed after a shower.

But Pam chuckled sheepishly, "Um… I was thinking… we could sleep together in my bed."

"W-W-W-What?!" he finally managed to vocalize.

She flushed a very dark green, "Listen… I haven't had a very nice time with everything that has happened lately so… you don't mind making me company, do you?"

He gulped, how could he say no and call himself a man?

Everyone who knew Naruto and who were in the afterlife didn't know whether to kill Naruto or bow to his greatness if male, or try to find a way to possess Pam if female.

"Session's over." Harleen said as she walked out of the room, leaving behind a heap that was once a lively Wally West.

Hugo sighed, "You know, making jokes about natural blondes isn't the best way to flirt with a lady."

He said and the teen groaned, barely able to mouth a sentence very well with the red hand mark imprinted on his face. "Hey… I dated blondes… well one, she's not bad, if a little cocky, arrogant, and overall bossy. But she's the fun kind of bossy to tease." The redhead said as he nursed his reddened cheek, "I think we redheads and blondes have a bond. Artemis, that sexy archer in our team, she wants to deny it but she's head over heels for yours truly." Here the freckled boy flexed his biceps, making Hugo hold a sigh with all his might.

"But I don't believe you bonded very well with Naruto." Hugo said to take a more offensive approach and see if he could break the arrogance of the boy.

Wally just grinned and laid back on his chair, "Hey, I just fell for his bluff. Next time, he won't be so lucky."

"He scared you unconscious."

"Hey, I was just tired, besides, next time we meet I'll be on full Speed Force power to give him a punch he'll never see coming."

Hugo sighed, this was going to be a very long and hard session. 'Well, should have figured this one out, kid's got a problem of narcissism and wanting to prove himself, only worry is how and why.'

However, little did Hugo know, Wally had other reasons to be so confident as he spoke... a blonde, green eyed beauty of a reason, "I swear I'll get you back, you loveable idiot of mine." Artemis sighed to herself as she listened on the conversation, hidden from view and ready for her orders.

And that's my rap!

Finally, to show you this fic isn't dead and that I still love it with the passion that made me write all those fight scenes, I give you a new chapter. I am sorry if some of your choices for the non-date weren't put in here but I swear I gave this chapter a lot of thought. Some of those suggestions will be present for future chapters, perhaps with other girls.

I will admit I had doubts when I first started this chapter, Hell, the first version was over 2 thousand words long and I deleted every single one of them due to how unfulfilling they felt. But now I'm glad with what I wrote. I also thank every single one of you who gave me ideas for this chapter, for you may note some inspiration taken from those ideas in a different path after much brainstorming on my own. I admit I wanted to do more, make things move in different ways but, well, I'm human and I have my limitations.

And, as you have noticed, yes, I do pair Wally and Artemis here. I don't care if I sink with this ship, any complaints trying to change my mind will hold as much value to me as someome putting their finger in their mouths and making popping sounds. I'm having fun with this fic and will continue to do so.

Hope you enjoyed it and that I made the wait worth it. I try to put more effort into my stories every time I make a new one or a new chapter, and looking at this chapter, I feel I managed that.

Swordslinger out!
