" Want to cheat?" asked Inuyasha. " Oh, let's." said Kima. They both moved further apart so they were flanking him and pounced. He turned around as both pounced and ducked. They skidded to a stop and he jumped over them. He ran the other way, shifting down into his wolf form easily. He really enjoyed giving them a target to run after. He made it back to their section of the forest and went to get Inuyaha's bow staff. Except, there was one problem. Inuyasha jumped with a snarl and snagged it in his teeth before he could get it, throwing himself into a roll and shifting back into his human form.
He let it drop into his hand and swung it like a whip. It extended and slammed into Sesshomaru like a punch. He went flying, but caught himself and skidded to a stop. He went for Inuyasha and tackled him, laying on his chest. He smirked down at him in wolf form and jumped up. Throwing himself into a back flip, he landed in his half demon form. He walked over to Inuyasha and pulled him up by his wrist.
" That was fun, thank you." said Sesshomaru. " I didn't mind. It's been a while since we could play around and be ourselves." said Inuyasha as he hugged Sesshomaru. Inuyasha nuzzled his brother's neck and snuggled into his chest. " You love doing that." said Sesshomaru with a soft smile. " Yes I do. It's nice to have my brother back without the heartless mask in place." said Inuyasha. " Thanks, I think." said Sesshomaru.
" I haven't been able to be with my big brother for a while so I'm entitled to stay right here." said Inuyasha. " Why are you smiling against my neck?" asked Sesshomaru. He kept his arms around Inuyasha, knowing how much he hated being pushed back to be looked at. " Oh, no reason." said Inuyasha with a giggle.
" OK, just the way you said that scares me." said Sesshomaru. Inuyasha looked over Sesshomaru's shoulder and jumped back a second later. Sesshomaru felt a weight hit his back and he twisted himself around before he hit the ground. He blinked up at his alpha, completely stunned. " That was foul play Little Brother." said Sesshomaru with a grimace as Kima licked his face.
That did it, Inuyasha busted out laughing. He stood there bent over, clutching his sides, and laughed to his heart's content. Sesshomaru was glad to see his brother laugh again, happy. So he just laid there and enjoying the sounds of his brother's laugh, even if it was at his own expense. The other wolves all sat in a half moon shaped formation a bit further away and enjoyed seeing their pack mate laugh again.
Miroku was staring confused, until he realized he had never heard a truly happy laugh from Inuyasha ever, even when he was with their group. He realized that's why Sesshomaru did it, because he knew Inuyasha needed a good laugh. Miroku fell to his knees and bowed his head, shamed. Just how much pain from Inuyasha had he over looked? Did he really deserve to have Sesshomaru as his mate when he couldn't even notice his comrade's pain? " They made an awful choice in letting me mate him." whispered Miroku. He forgot he was in a pack of wolves.
One of the black wolves came over and licked his chin. He looked up. " We didn't make an awful choice. The whole pack decides if they like one of the two fur ball's mates. Do you think we'd let you see them like this if we didn't like you? No, we'd tear you apart first. Your not used to seeing them like this. Inuyasha's hiding skills are as good when he's running as they are with his emotions. He can be insulted in the face of that mutt, Kouga, and not bat an eyelash. He doesn't even look like the insult hurt him. Instead he counters with a snappy come back. He truly is Sesshomaru's little brother, and yours. But, you hurt him and we will enjoy tearing the flesh from your bones!" snarled Afira.
