The Story of Bleach told through the eyes of one Hara Setsuna, Captain of the 14th. As a Captain do not expect her to be all sunshine and roses. Eventual Byakuya/OC although not for a long time, the only other paring is OC/OC. Expect spoilers of all Japanese Manga chapters eventually.

Not Mine

THIS IS 100% SKIPPABLE SO IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ IT YOU DON'T HAVE TO.

That said:

Here is an outline of all current characters/movesets and information on the 14th Division. I'm doing this in case things accidently slipped by or things that I have written up to this point were not clear. Also touches upon things that I will most likely never get to. Now that we are done with Book One I thought something of this nature might be helpful.

What is the 14th Division - What do they do, and what are their main responsibilities?

The 14th Division reports directly to both the Gotei 14 and The Central Body of government. They are NOT I REPEAT NOT in charge of the the daily activities around the Gotei 14 and neither do they make up all the rules. Instead it is their job to watch over The World of the Living, and make sure that the law of the The Central government is kept in check there. They are pretty much the shinigami who watch the shinigami of that world. They are also in charge of making judgement calls for other spiritual things that go on there. All their watching however is ONLY suggestion and NOT the final law. Both Central and the Gotei 14 can disagree and override their ideas, as has been done before. Therefore if a team was to go to The World of the Living Setsuna would be sent, not to help that team but to watch over them and make sure they don't break the rules. However if she wishes to help out there is no law saying that she cannot, unless it goes against other major shinigami laws.

What is the symbol of the 14th Division (flower) and their saying -

The flower is a Bluebell, the Bluebell stands for humility, gratitude, and constancy. The Division saying is: Justice, Reason, Truth.

Was Takahashi Shinpachi the creator of the 14th Division -

I do not see him as this no. I figured I would put this on here because I don't think it will be something I will ever touch upon, but wanted to get out of the way in case it was a pressing question. I see him as at least the third captain but I do not know what happened to the others.

Characters you should know by now:

Hara Setsuna: The main character and the Captain of the 14th she is childhood friends with Byakuya (who was also her mentor) and was once in love with a nobleman by the name of Ikeda Kenji. The two of them dated in secret but when his family would not bend and allow them to marry he, persuaded by Aizen killed them all. He would also kill the then current Captain of the 14th leaving Setsuna in charge. Setsuna desires to live a noble life - despite being of common blood - although she is still discovering what that means.

Wakahisa Miya: The Vice Captain of the 14th. He dresses like a woman, and looks like one too. Often times he acts more feminine than masculine. As Setsuna once noted, he was in love with the old Captain of the 14th but nothing ever came from it. Miya is lazy yet beautiful, powerful yet unfocused, driven yet easily distracted. He would do anything for Setsuna and is fiercely loyal to her. While Setsuna is his boss it is clear that they are very good friends as well.

Ikeda Kenji: A child of a noble household he fell in love with Setsuna, however he was overcome by his rage against the noble system. Eventually he was seduced by Aizen and in an attempt to have the power to overcome his family became one of Aizen's failed experiments (after the Hōgyoku almost as a last ditch attempt to recreate it w/o the missing half). He eventually killed and wiped out his whole family, killing Takahashi who came to stop him. Eventually he was captured by his lover at the time, Setsuna and punished for his crimes.

Takahashi Shinpachi: The charismatic old Captain of the 14th he met his end fighting Ikeda Kenji. A man who always looked on the bright side of life he was a brilliant strategist and friend. While he had a bit of a penchant for woman and flowery language he never never let it stop him from doing his job. Often times he would hang out with Jūshirō Ukitake and Shunsui Kyōraku, despite both of them being his seniors.

Yori: The 3rd seat of the 14th Division she is childhood friends with Miya. Often times she is found with him, talking him out of stupid decisions. While Miya can be a bit lofty Yori is grounded and for the most part, sweet. However she can hold her own and isn't afraid to speak her mind.

Attacks/Swordnames:

Setsuna's Sword is named Hinotori no Honoo or Phoenix Flame. The sword is a plain sword missing it's tsuba or handguard. The color of the handle of the sword is white wood. Unlike Rukia's sword where the white is said to be beautiful and bone white, hers is plain white and despite the color does not stand out at all.

Setsuna's shikai is Utau, Hinotori no Honoo or Sing, Phoenix Flame. In this is it obvious that the command for release is sing. With this her sword is able to command sound waves (that cannot be heard by ear) that cancel out energy. However it is directional and the sword has to be facing the way the energy is coming to block the blast. The energy is said to shatter like glass and then dissipate as if ashes on the wind.

Setsuna's bankai is Kane Hinotori o Shokan or Phoenix Summoning Bell(s). While what she wields are bells they do not look like a typical bell. Instead they are two shields that are bent and shaped into two large crescents. They are bent in a way that resembles a 3D hollowed out moon. Both crescents ends are attached by two poles that run between them. The edges of the crescents are sharpened, while the face is blunt for hitting. The poles have ribbons attached to them so that she can swing the bells around. On the face of the bells a there is a white phoenix outline. For reference please see Clow Reed's Bell in Cardcaptor Sakura. However Setsuna's are at least twice that size.

The only other sword release you have seen thus far is Takahashi Shinpachi's his sword is named Nikuya Deba or Butcher's Knife. Unreleased it looks like a normal katana. It's shikai released it is Hidoku naguru, Nikuya Deba or Clobber, Butcher's Knife. In this form his sword turns into a large (both in length and width) flat blade with two sharp sides, that more closely resembles the blade (but not handle) of a European medieval weapon. The handle remains that of a katana. For what the BLADE of his sword looks like please refer to the weapon that Sagara Sanosuke uses in Rurouni Kenshin.

Notes on Power Levels:

It should be noted that while I see Takahashi as a good leader and powerful I do not see him as more powerful than perhaps Kensei Muguruma (or what we have seen of him). By the time Setsuna has grown into her powers in the beginning of the series I imagine her being stronger than him by far. I see her just as powerful as Byakuya although perhaps not always as tactical. Miya I see as about as strong as Matsumoto. He's been around for a long time but his attitude and mannerisms has stunted his learning a bit. I hope to get around to seeing his shikai at some point - and I do know what it is. Yori I see as strong as Hinamori (at least in Kidō). I also imagine Yori having a shikai, but because of character POV I don't know if I'll ever get to it. In fact in my mind she would be a lieutenant already if not for the fact that she refuses to leave Miya's side. I also imagine Ikeda as much stronger than Setsuna the first time they fought but because she was able to surprise him she was able to take him down.

And that's it!

Reviews are helpful but not necessary. I understand that this is an OC. If that is not your cup of tea then do not leave a comment saying all OC's suck, that is not helpful and will not make me delete the story. I too understand that most OC's suck, and yet I write anyway.
