Emalia entered the room, in front of her stood the Headmistress, Professor Guinevere and Albus. Immediately Emalia was confused. All she wanted to know was why she was invited to the Banquet; instead what she was going to find out was a lot more than she bargained for. 'Excuse me Headmistress, I'm afraid I don't understand why Albu-, I mean, Professor Dumbledore and Professor Guinevere are here. Am I interrupting something?' she asked. Both Madame Maxim and Professor Guinevere looked at Albus. 'Obviously they were all keeping something from me.' she thought to herself. Albus smiled at here as he walked towards her. There was something about his demeanour that set off alarm bells in Emalia's head. He had been keeping secrets from her, important ones, she could tell. Albus Dumbledore was not an easy character to read, very few could, but Emalia always knew. She always knew. 'My dear, why don't you come sit down over here beside me.' Dumbledore said gesturing to a dusty old sofa near the bookshelves. 'And I will tell you everything.'

Emalia knew Albus had kept secrets from her and she knew he had his reasons. But she was wholly unprepared for what he was about to tell her, and she had no way to cushion the blow. 'Emalia, I have not been truthful with you these past few weeks.' He began with a sigh 'You asked me, when I first told you about Beauxbatons, if there was a reason why I was sending you there instead of Hogwarts.' Emalia looked at him, looked around the room and then looked at her lap. 'I knew there had to be a reason. I thought you didn't want me anymore.' She whispered quietly to herself. Dumbledore looked at her, realising that he had inadvertently caused this little girl, whom he loved with all his being, pain and it killed him. 'Emalia' he said while gently pulling her face up and carefully wiped away the stray tear that had fallen. 'I will never stop loving you, I was foolish not to tell you the truth straight away though I had to wait for my theory to be proven before I could put you through that hardship. I see now that I was wrong.' He looked into the sad eyes of the young girl that sat in front of him. 'She has changed so much in just a few short months.' He thought to himself. 'I promise you that I will always be here for you when you need me. All you ever have to do is ask it of me.' He said smiling. Emalia's smile reached from one ear to the other, and her face beamed with a radiance so bright it was almost blinding. But then it faltered, Emalia knew that there was more; there was always something else. Some secret about her past that was always lurking in the background; always waiting.

'There are three very important things that I must tell you' began Albus, 'My reasons for not telling you this sooner was to protect you from the horrors of the world we once lived in, for you my dear sweet smiling child, are so precious to so very many and I am afraid I have been selfish with you. I have kept you from those whom you have more in common with than you know and in doing that I see that I have kept you blind to the world you belong to, all for the sake of keeping you close and ensuring your safety. In short, Emalia, I have been shielding you from the people you need most.' There was a long pause, everyone waiting to see how Emalia would react. Emalia looked at the Headmistress, then at Professor Guinevere and finally at her godfather, her family, Albus Dumbledore. 'Albus I don't understand what you are trying to tell me.' She said utterly perplexed. Albus looked at her contemplating his next words. 'Emalia, you are so much more than a witch.' He said. With this Emalia just began to think of this as some elaborate joke, 'Maybe Albus wants to play a trick on me for once.' She thought to herself briefly, until she saw the seriousness in his eyes. 'Emalia you, my dear, are Veela'
