Chapter 11: Mine Before You Go Part 1

Kaname was sitting beside Zero who was still unconscious. Covered from head to toe in bandages. The pureblood was more than worried over his love; its past midnight and the youth still hasn't woken up yet. As soon as Simone' awoke though she was detained and taken to the council's summit and imprisoned. Sherri had informed him, while she came and healed up Zero's internal injuries. Also telling him all the silverette needed was rest and that the worst was over.

Kaname though relieved knew the worst was not over, there was the trial the hunter had to undergo and being imprisoned.

This dilemma was one he worried over.

'I should have never left.' He held Zero's bandaged hand. "This would have never happened if I stayed here with you." He rubbed his hand gently. "I had no idea she'd go this far…I am so sorry Zero. Truly sorry. This…This is all my fault yet again." He bowed his head kissing the youth's hand. "I cause nothing but strife for you and everyone else."

Knock. Knock.

He sat up and composed himself, telling the person to come in. The person who entered however was not someone he knew. It was a woman, she was plump but had an hour glass figure, coffee brown skin and short black pixie cut hair. He could sense she was a hunter and he wonder if the hunter association was notified and aware of the situation.

"Oh my, it's worse than what I was told." The woman sighed and moved to the other side of Zero's bed. "Sorry love, your uncle and I just got here." She gently rubbed his cheek a motherly expression on her face. Without looking at the pureblood she addressed him. "So you are the one my baby is crazy about, Kuran Kaname."

Kaname's eyes widened in realization.

This woman was Zero's aunt!

"Gaia-san?" She smiled and nodded. "It's an honor and pleasure to finally meet you." Kaname gave a tire smile. "Though I wish it were under different circumstances. I apologize for not being more presentable and greeting you properly."

Gaia beamed. "Zero was right you have good manners and quite the looker." She winked at him. "My baby has caught himself quite a stud mmh!" She laughed. "And honey please don't worry about formalities. We'll be family soon!"

Kaname nodded with a smile, he liked this woman she has spunk and sass.

"Now," her tone turned serious. "Please tell me what happened." She stopped him from speaking. "And know my husband and I are here to help," She smiled at him reaching over Zero grabbing the pureblood's hand. "You will not be fighting alone, understand?"

Kaname blinked before he sighed between his teeth bowing his head and squeezing her hand. "Yes…thank you."

Gaia smiled gently. Kaname worried someone would be listening in. Gaia reassured him, telling him she put a barrier around the room no one will hear their conversation or enter the room.

"I am sorry to say, your daughter is already imprisoned." Kaname frowned sadly.

Gaia nodded. "Yes I know. I'm not worried though she is a strong woman and can handle any situation." She gave a somewhat dark smile. "If anything I'd worry about the senate."

Kaname blinked. "Gaia-san…"

"I'm sure you seen my daughter in action." She waved her hand dismissingly. "Anyway we are off topic. You have a question."

"Yes, more than one." He nodded. "Does HQ know of today's events?" he then added solemnly. "And Cross-san?"

Gaia sat back against her chair and gazed at Zero. "No…At least not yet. The one who does know is Yagari and that's it. We won't involve HQ yet. If they knew now they'd be out for blood and then next thing you know a war starts."

"I understand. What about the trial?"

"If the senate plays by the rules then there should be no trouble." She crossed her legs. "Since a pureblood is involved I sense there will be some foul play." Her tone was calculating. "Some may try to gain Yuuki's favor in order to get more power. Yuuki may even tempt them by offering her blood." She shook her head. "No she-

"Will." Zero groaned hoarsely.

Kaname gasped. "Zero!"

"Yuuki will bribe the councilmen with her blood. Only so she'll have enough votes." He coughed. Kaname helped in sitting the silverette up carefully and helping him drink.

Once his thirst was quenched he greeted his aunt. "Hey oba-chan," he smiled. "Seems every time you come to visit I'm in trouble."

"Oh baby," She rubbed his cheek. "That isn't true. Whether you are in trouble or not I'd still come to see you." She smiled. "How do you feel?"

"I've been through worse days than this," he sighed. "I'm fine just sore." His smile fell as he asked his next question. "What is tou-san's condition?"

Gaia and Kaname looked at each other with sad eyes before looking back at the other. Gaia opened her mouth to deliver the news but Kaname shook his head and took over.

"Cross-san is in critical condition." He said grabbing the silverette's hand. "Alahandro and Sherri are with him, doing all in their power to keep him here with us." He tightens his grip as Zero started to shake. "I know this isn't what you wanted to hear…" he paused. "He is still here with us. I have no doubt that Sherri and Alahandro will succeed. Cross-san is strong and stubborn; he won't go down easily."

Zero shook his head tears building at the corner of his eyes he tried to speak yet no words came to him. Everything really has gone to hell he thought covering his face with one hand. Cross was at death's door and there was nothing he could do. If only he had been faster in blocking Yuuki's attack the chairmen wouldn't be in his current condition.

"Zero," Kaname cupped the youth's face and turns his head toward him. "I understand this is a lot to take in." He leaned close to him kissing his eyes sweetly. "Do not blame yourself."

Zero sniffled. "But-

"Not your fault." He used his thumb to wipe away his tear. "We will get through this." He rubbed his cheek smiling. Zero gave a small smile and nodded.

Gaia had a soft smile on her face and dabbed at her eyes. Her god baby has a good one, she could tell they'll be happy. Her daughter sent her updates on the couple, snapping pictures of when the two were alone somewhere, and telling her about Kaname. It surprised her to learn that Zero recognized Kaname as a mate when he was a child. Sitting here, she was able to get an insight into the pureblood's character.

"I have to tell you what happened." Zero wiped his eyes.

"You don't have to-"

"No," Zero interrupted. "I do. You need to know this before I'm locked up."

Kaname looked as if he would protest again but didn't. "Alright Zero."

"Where's Simone' and Yori?" Zero asked.

"Yori-chan is with Kaien." Kaname answered. "And Simone'-chan has already been detained." Zero's eyes widen in shock. "The moment she woke the senate took her into custody." His face fell. "I'm sorry Zero, it was out of my power."

"Bastards didn't even give her time to recover." He growled. "And what about Yori?"

"She is fine just a few scrapes and bruises. She hasn't been arrested because she did not attack Yuuki…Yori will still be questioned and tried."

"And Yuuki?"

Kaname internally shivered at the cold tone. "She has been taken to the senate as well…" He crossed his arms. "Though I doubt she is in a cell." He looked at Zero. "Tell us everything. From the start of your day to the point Yuuki attacked you. Leave no detail out."

Zero nodded and told his aunt and mate everything, leaving no detail out. By the time he was finished Kaname powers got out of control, blowing the lights and cracking the window. The vampire was livid, he toned down his aura and began pacing the room in anger.

"I've had it!" He growled.

Zero blinked in surprise, the tone in the other's voice is something he never heard. He's seen Kaname pissed and annoyed before but he hasn't seen him enraged. His fangs out as he paced. It was interesting and hot. He knew now wasn't the time but Kaname looked sexy when he's mad.

Zero couldn't help himself, he calls it as he sees it.

He figured he better calm his mate down before he blows the roof off of the building.

"Kaname." He called him yet the pureblood still continues to pace and mumble in rage. "Kaname!" he raised his voice and finally gained his mate's attention. "Being angry won't solve the situation or help it." He grabbed Kaname's hand once he sat down. "I'm just as angry as you are… If we are going to get through this, we need clear heads and a plan." He tilted his head. "Okay?"

Kaname closed his eyes inhaling then exhaling; his fangs retreated and his aura calmed down though his expression still held ire. "I apologize," he said. "I am at my limit with her."

"How will you plan to deal with her?" Gaia asked calmly.

The woman's question asked more than what he simply planned to do. She wanted to know whether he would slap her on the hand or give her a punishment fitting her deeds. Kaname had made his decision he felt no remorse or sadness.

"To end her."

Zero eyes widen in shock and remained silent as he continued.

"She has hurt so many, mentally and physically. I've given multiple chances for her to change herself…to better herself. I learned from doing this that she has changed for the worse. She is a threat the longer she stays alive…" Kaname locked eyes with her. "I've had too many friends almost lose their lives, my mate included, to her vendetta. I will kill her." His tone was final. "No more chances…no more forgiveness."

"Hn. Kaien-kun will not like it but it is for the best. Zero, what are your thoughts?"

"I'm on board." He stated. "Yuuki is no longer the Yuuki I grew up with. That thing-That spawn of evil is not my family, she laughed at hurting Cross…" he clenched his hand. "She is a danger to those around her." He paused before speaking again. "What makes her dangerous is her 'naiveté and innocence.' Yuuki is the type no one would expect to harbor something foul beneath the surface…She plays the victim, the damsel." Zero looked at his hand. "We over look her."

"Zero…" Kaname stared appalled at the silverette for the in depth analysis.

"She is someone you would not guess to be the bad guy who plots a setup. Another thing that makes her dangerous is her power and skill to manipulate others. We've both been under Yuuki's thumb once before." He gazed at Kaname. "Somehow she was able to gather Rido's old crew into working with her. Did she promise them something or talked them into avenging their dead master?" He sighed shrugging. "And even now we played into her hands. She wanted a fight, just to keep us separated. She needs to be put down, whether she is possessed by Rido or not. If we leave her to her own devices no one will be safe." Zero finished.

"I understand." Gaia nodded. "Very well then. I may have an idea to resolves this. I'll explain that in a moment." She stood. "First off…I believe you two should mate right this instant before you are taken away." She smiled at their blushing startled faces.

~The Council summit~

Yuuki sat in a plush chair staring at the full moon with a pleased smile humming. She was confined to her so called 'prison'. Which only appeared to be a fancy room, the complete opposite of a prison cell, it was decorated nicely and well accommodated. The female was incarcerated in style and treated like the princess she is. Some members of the councils made sure of that.

She knew they had ulterior motives.

Yuuki stretched. "Talk about wanting to gain good graces." She leaned her head back staring at the ceiling. "It's an advantage for me I guess."

If enough council members are against Zero during the trial she can convince those members to give him and the vixen the death penalty. And if the trial succeeded in her favor she'd be rid of some thorns. 'Kaname would be devastated.' She thought smiling. He'll be alone once again like he was in the past. Yuuki wanted to see that ruin, and her causing it excited her to the point that she began giggling. If her 'beloved' nii-sama's anguish was anything like Zero's grief she'd look forward to it.

Moving from the chair to the vanity sitting on the stool before grabbing the brush. When she looked in the mirror she froze. Staring back at her was not her reflection but Rido, smiling that creepy grin that use to send chills of terror down her spin.

'Feels good to act on instinct…Doesn't it." He purred chuckling. 'To finally let go and cut loose."

Yuuki smiled softly and nodded. "Yes, I was really scared at first but once I did let go…it felt amazing. And when I acted I wasn't scared anymore."

Rido laughed. 'That is what happens when you discard affection and compassion. Throw away the emotions that tie you down and then you will truly be free…and strong.'

Yuuki brushed her hair humming. "Yes, I feel strong…As for freedom," She stopped brushing. "The only way to gain freedom is getting rid of all the hurt." Her eyes flashed. "Rid of the people who made me weak." She continued brushing her hair. "Only then will I be free."

'Juri-'

Yuuki glared at him. "I am not my mother. I hate when you see me as her."

Rido sneered cruelly. "You are right. You are not your mother. You don't even hold a candle to her. You lack so much; you two are nothing alike."

Yuuki smirked setting the brush down and leaned close. "I may be nothing like my mother, but we have one thing in common. That being our sense." Resting her cheek in her hand she said tauntingly. "Having common sense in not choosing you." She laughed quietly as her uncle cursed her his face twisted in a snarl.

"You are nothing! You are a pathetic whiny bitch who needs protection!" he pounded his chest. "If it weren't for me-"

Yuuki rolled her eyes. "Goodbye Rido. I don't need you anymore." Her uncle's eyes widen and he gripped his chest in pain. Yuuki watched with a pleased smile as the male began to fade from existence. Devouring the last remaining fragments of his soul adding them to her own arsenal of power. Once he was gone only her reflection remained.

Yuuki licked her lips mumbling "Tasty." Then went back to brushing her hair.

Knock. Knock. "Lady Yuuki," The voice said from the door. "It is I, Ishi Hiramu. May I enter?"

Yuuki didn't even turn around. "You may." She added in thought. 'Besides you have the key baka.' He entered and she turned to face him and began to stand but was stopped.

"Please remain sitting," he said. "How are you faring? Do your injuries still bother you?"

Yuuki smiled this man played the concerned person well. "I am fine Hiramu-sama," She saw the pleased smile at his title. "Most of my injuries have healed." She bowed her head. "I thank you for looking after me." She put on a concerned face, her hand to her chest. "It must have been quite taxing." She referred to her blood. "I apologize for being such a burden."

"That is quite alright." His chest puffed out a bit a sign of his ego showing. "I am relieved you are doing well my dear. The reason to my visit is to gather information."

"Hm. Regarding today's events, correct." She stated eloquently.

"Yes, but that is not all," he smirked. "You can stop with the charade." He sat down in the chair. "I would like to make a deal with you."

Yuuki chuckled. "I thought I was doing well…So," she crossed her legs. "What deal are you trying to strike with me?"

He got right to the point. "I have quite an influence on most of the council. If you agree to my terms, then this situation can benefit both of us."

"If I don't?"

"Most of the senate backs me and the decisions I make regarding certain situations…I can have them rule in your favor or," He held his finger. "against you, giving a harsh punishment."

Yuuki was not intimidated. "What is this deal? I refuse to agree to something unknown."

"A higher position of power."

Yuuki hummed in question. "Don't you already have a lot of power?" She tossed her hair over her shoulder. "Surely you must if you control most of the senate." She tilted her head. "Unless you don't really have that much power at all." She motioned for him to continue. "Please go on."

"Yes, I do have quite the authority but I am looking to expand…You see I want my position from councilmen to potentate." He stopped the princess from speaking. "Also I want your blood."

Yuuki stared wide-eyed in disbelief before she started laughing quietly shaking her head. "Not only do you want to rule over the senate but you want my blood as well." She sighed. "You are a greedy little bastard." She leaned forward. "And what's in it for me. hmm?"

"Winning this trial, your freedom, and Kaname as your mate." He leaned his head back. "Or would you rather spend your days locked in a gilded cage again?" he held out his hand. "The choice is yours."

Yuuki held back the urge to kill the man. This scum believed she could be easily controlled and broken. No, she's done with being toyed with and used for others' motives. This time, she will be in control of cards. And she'll play everyone how she sees fit, tossing them away like trash.

"Alright Hiramu-sama," The man stared intently at her. "I agree to the terms, and will do you one even better." Yuuki brought her left hand up to her mouth. "If you succeed in helping me win my trial…along with granting the death penalty to Kiryu and Riga. I will give you blood freely without hesitation or question." She pricked her finger with her teeth and stood walking over to the male standing between his legs leaning over him. "Also pledge your loyalty and service to me," tiny drip of blood gathered and Hiramu gulped licking his lips. "And you may get more than bargained for." The blood dropped into his mouth.

And he barely contained his moan of pleasure.

Words could not describe the taste and delicacy of the substance on his tongue. It was like he was tasting heaven. He was experiencing so many different things, and his body felt odd. Like he was aging backwards and felt more powerful.

Yet just as the feeling came it was gone and he wanted more. He gazed up at the pureblood with begging eyes silently asking for more.

"Hee hee hee," Yuuki giggled as she licked her finger the small wound closing and healing. "More will come when our deal is complete. Now I have another request." She moved away from him.

"Anything!"

"Allow me to visit a former classmate of mine. Riga Simone'."

The man paled. "I could do no such thing! Your safety is top priority! Letting you near that creature is a risk!"

The pureblood sighed in annoyance. "You have her restrained yes?"

"Yes, but we do not want to take any chances. She is shackled and we placed many seals on her cell."

"Was she trying to escape?"

"N-No," He replied coughing into his hand. "In fact she was cooperative when the guards restrained her." He rubbed his chin. "It was strange."

"Well then there is nothing to worry about."

"But-" he was silenced when lips crashed into his. Hiramu tensed when blood entered his mouth, eyes wide before dilating and he groaned in satisfaction. There was more blood this time instead of a small drop. He felt Yuuki push against him as she forced her tongue into his mouth. He realized her tongue was cut and he greedily sucked on the appendage. Relishing in the taste as he was sent to Nirvana.

Once her tongue healed and the blood gone from her mouth, Yuuki pulled back slightly hovering over the man. "I want to see Simone'." The man was out of breath as he nodded at her demand. "I'm glad we are in agreement." She moved away from him and he started fixing his attire, along with making sure no blood was present. Satisfied with himself he strode pass Yuuki, holding the door open for her.

"Stay close to me."

Yuuki did as she was told and soon the two walked to the underground dungeons. The pureblood hid her secret smile, she had this fool already wrapped around her finger. The moment he tasted her blood he became hers. He was unware and shall remain so.

They reached the dungeons and Hiramu questioned the guard about the condition of the female as they walked down deeper to her cell. The guard replied that there were no changes in her behavior only that she kept humming and singing odd songs.

"Singing?" Hiramu questioned lifting his brow.

"Y-Yes Sir," The guard nodded. "Ever since she woke up. She's been humming most of the time and just recently began singing." He stopped talking as a tune started again, sounding sweet yet haunting as it echoed along the walls. The men shivered and cautiously continued.

Arriving at the vixen's cell Yuuki had to stop her gasp of delight. The black girl was more than chained! She was straight up immobilized! She was suspended in the air in the center of her cell.

Her arms spread out behind her in an up angle, her body leaning forward. Her arms wrapped in bandages that had ancient writings scribbled on them and on top were manacles covering her entire hands up to her forearms. Her entire body, from her neck to her feet, were also wrapped in the charmed bandages, and confined in warded shackles.

The councilman shook his head and decided to stop her. "Riga-san-"

"She won't stop sir." The guard said. "We tried to stop her yet she'd ignored us and kept singing. When we tried to gag her she'd let out this piercing scream that would cause us pain." He paused keeping his distance. "So we left her alone."

The older vampire clicked his tongue and decided to heed the other's warning. He grew nervous when glowing purple eyes stared blankly pass them.

Hiramu waited a moment to see if she would start singing again. She didn't so he addressed her again flinching as glowing eyes regarded him, though her gaze appeared lazy he saw the danger in them.

"To what do I owe this pleasant visit councilman?" She drawled out as if she had woken from a nap. "Ah, and you brought the bane of society with you." She chuckled. "I'd greet you properly with my middle finger," she smirked. "If I weren't so tied up."

"Watch your mouth beast!" Hiramu growled. "You will show respect to your betters." He glared when the female laughed.

"My betters?" She laughed out. "I would rather respect a pile of shit than ever even consider you two as my betters." She tilted her head. "So is there a reason to your visit?"

Yuuki spoke up this time walking close to cage boldly. "I came to see you," She smiled as she rolled her name. "Simone'-chan." She tilted her head. "How are you holding up?"

"Oh I'm fine Yuuki-chan. Nothing like being suspended from the ceiling while being released to take a piss, with perverted guards watching might I add. Other than that I am just peachy." She chimed. "And you look like you are doing well yourself…Considering you're staying in a completely different place."

"Being a princess has its perks." Yuuki stated.

"Ya and so does sleeping around with wrinkly old guys to get your way." Simone shot back smirking.

Yuuki glared at her before shaking her head with a sigh. "You are impossible to get along with." She took the keys much to the disagreement of the councilman and guard. She opened the cell stepping inside, closing it behind her. "I could never understand you."

"Yuuki-sama! Please! You mustn't go near her!"

Yuuki ignored him moving closer to Simone'. "We've never seen eye to eye yet we both wanted the same thing- "

"You're right we've never seen eye to eye." Simone' smiled. "We never wanted the same thing." She rolled her neck sighing. "You see, I want Zero to be happy, you are just a confused mess going on a killing spree. But I can say we want one thing…"

Yuuki blinked large eyes. "And that is?"

"We both want to kill each other…" She leaned her head down and said low enough for only the pureblood to hear. "And very soon that will happen. I warned you the first time. Remember what I said?"

Yuuki tensed as she remembered her words.

I'm waiting for you to hurt another and when that happens your life will be mine to take. Kaname will not stop me. Neither will Cross or Yori.

"You do that's good. I'm a woman of my word Yuuki…you are going to die one way or another."

Yuuki shook off her fear and smirked. "You can't do anything to me Simone'. Only a pureblood can kill a pureblood. In fact, you aren't in any position to be making threats." She cupped the vixen's face. "I can easily kill you and you can't do a thing to stop me. Heehee, my how roles switch." This is what she wanted. Finally, she was in control of the situation and holding the other's life in her hands. This time she'd be making demands and threats. She'd savor this moment.

Simone' shook her hands off. "You believe just because I'm all chained up I can't do anything." The vixen stated in amusement. "Keep believing that though know I don't need my hands to kill you." Her smile turned dark. "There are other ways."

"Whatever you say…You're still weak from the fight." Simone' tensed. "And you put most of your energy into trying to save Cross…Which proved to be a failed effort." She smiled when the other growled.

"Tell me Yuuki," She changed the subject. "Was it worth it? Killing Ojii-chan and hurting Zero? What are you trying to accomplish?"

The pureblood hummed in thought. "Let's see, at first it was because the two people who I loved the most abandoned me. I wanted to make them pay…and they will. Cross was unexpected yet I don't regret it. In fact, I don't regret anything." She smiled. "I'm only warming up." She moved away from her and exited the cell tossing the keys to the guard. "See you at the trial."

"Yuuki," when the female turned Simone' said. "When this is all over I've prepared a song just for you." Her eyes closed. "A requiem of ruin to for that ugly soul of yours."

Yuuki chuckled turning her back. "I look forward to it."

The council released a sigh of relief and followed while telling the guard to remain and keep an eye on the vixen.

"Oh and Councilman," Simone' called. "You have poison coursing through your veins."

Hiramu blinked and only shook his head ignoring her words. He held the door open for the pureblood then the two were gone.

Simone' laughed quietly and began humming again. The guard tensed and moved a few feet away from her.

Yuuki was right in her assumption about her being weak from the fight. One thing these vampires did not know is that putting her somewhere dark helps her heal faster. She feeds off of darkness. She was gaining back her strength at a neutral rate. Having enough energy to break her restraints and fight her way out. Yet that would not help the situation, she'll wait and continue filling her reserves and when it was time to strike she would.

'Besides, all things come in due times.'
