Hey guys! What's up? How've you been!

I'm really happy you all liked the past two chapters. I like writing things people like to read and you guys seem to like this story! Thanks to NobodysConcern (you're adjectives keep me going haha) and Hildebrant (Thank you for reading my story! I like giving recognition to people who support the story. I get slightly annoyed when people are like "give me 1000 follows then I'll write some people's names" like you guys are who I'm writing it for. Not to get more followers even though that's always nice ;) ). Also thanks to Tokka (I don't want to put your whole name in case you don't want me to) on Tumblr for loving the story! I'm happy it makes you feel better! :)

Anyway, here's the next chapter! I'll be back in a few days! I wrote this one really fast so there is promise in the future! :P

I had never ran faster in my life. The trees passing me were just a green blur mixed with brown vines. As much as I wanted to leave him, I knew even if somehow I did outrun him, he could follow my boot prints. The dirt was still moist from the rain the day before and I was leaving a trail.

"Someone's coming!" I heard a boy yell. I quickly turned, avoiding my set path. "They're right there!" They yelled again, their voices louder.

My breathing began to come faster as I ducked under low branches. I had to keep moving.

"They're gone!" Another boy responded faintly.

I stopped suddenly and leaned against a tree. I listened closely to the earth. I hoped Peter wasn't as silent as I thought he could be.

But he was.

I couldn't hear his footsteps. I couldn't even hear the boys I had avoided.

Then a branch cracked and I ran again. I looked behind me for a moment and saw a movement in the brush. He found me.

I pulled open the small bag of serum and retrieved a sphere. I could throw it at him if I had to.

The brush began to thin and I slowed again. I didn't know to go left or right. I couldn't stay in such an open area.

"Gwendolyn! I can hear you!"

I stopped breathing as if that would help. I was caught.

"Just give up, Wendy!" He continued.

I looked around. Left or right? Which way!

I heard the trees again.

And I ran.

I ran on my original path, not taking left or right. Before I could realize, the trees thinning wasn't just by chance. It was because the land cut off right behind them.

I looked behind me, Peter still nowhere in sight.

I sighed and then felt my foot miss the ground.

I slammed into the hard rock before moving forward. I had a tight grip on the side of the cliff, my feet dangling beneath me and trying to tread on the wall of dirt and weeds.

"Peter!" I screamed. My finger nails were digging their own trenches in the dirt. Anchors to solid ground.

I kicked the wall, trying to break a hole. It was useless.

"Peter!" I tried again and my fingers began retreating from their trench. I felt myself slipping farther down the wall.

I knew I shouldn't have, but I looked down.

All the way down.

There was a combination of water and rocks at the bottom. Surely, I would die on impact. I wouldn't have a chance to drown or even think about surviving. I was done.

I watched the spheres of serum escape from the bag attached at my hip and fall elegantly in the air until they disappeared amongst the air.

Tears began flowing from their own safety, my eyes hazed over.

Then a strong hand clasped around my wrist and pulled me up swiftly.

Peter's bottom lip was between his teeth in tension. He lifted me with ease onto the solid ground.

My back hit the dirt first and then him next to me. He put a hand to my forehead. "You're alright," he said soothingly. "It's okay."

I closed my eyes and let his words sooth me. That was the second time my life flashed before my eyes since I've been here. I'm surprised my heart didn't finally burst from adrenaline yet.

I swallowed and opened my eyes, my heart finally catching my up to my breath.

Peter was looking over me, concerned. He touched my head softly, reassuringly. It felt good. "Are you okay?"

I made no move to shy away from his touch. "You shouldn't have been chasing me."

"You shouldn't have turned back there."

"You shouldn't have lied about the whistle."

He raised his eyebrow adding a grin with it. "Touché."

I looked at him for a moment before doing something totally irrational.

I kissed him.

I leaned on my elbows and touched my lips softly to his.

Don't ask me why, because I'm not sure. It felt right. It felt like I needed to do it.

He was taken aback slightly, moving away from my touch for a second.

"Um." I moved my hand to my mouth. I shouldn't have done that. His face told me that I shouldn't have. My face told him I was embarrassed. I could feel it on fire.

He touched my hand and moved it away from my mouth before pressing his lips to mine.

I touched the side of his face with the same hand and pulled him closer to me. He didn't seem to mind as he moved closer without hesitation.

"Wendy!" My name bounced around us like a bell's chime. Peter didn't separate himself from me. If anything, I think he held on tighter.

"Wendy!" It echoed again. I pulled away and looked at Peter who swallowed just as Felix broke through the forest behind him.

"What happened?" He asked me, stepping closer.

Peter leaned away from me further before standing. "She fell."

"You screamed because you fell? I thought something bad happened-"

"Off the cliff," Peter continued, walking away from us towards the edge.

Felix's eyes widened and he extended his hand to me. "What?"

"He was chasing me! I didn't know there was a cliff." I took his hand and stood up. He didn't ask why we were both on the floor.

"Pan, you're supposed to be watching her, not letting her fall off cliffs."

Peter gave him a look. "I helped her up!" And then brought me back to life.

"This is why she needed to be on someone's team," Felix said, shaking his head.

My eyebrows knitted together. "Excuse me. I don't need to be on someone's team. I don't need to be watched."

Peter rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. He wouldn't look at me.

"Wendy, what if someone wasn't here?" Felix asked, bringing my attention back to him.

"I would have tried my hardest to stay up and if I fell, I would have fallen." I brushed my hands together. "Instant death."

Felix looked done with me. "You need to be more careful."

Didn't I know that? "You've been doing too many dangerous things lately."

I knew he was talking about the pixie dust but I couldn't help but think of just kissing Peter. When I looked at Peter, I knew he was thinking the same.

"Anyway, my flag is gone," Felix said, defeated. That was where his negative attitude was stemming from.

Peter's face lit up. "So, I won?"

Felix shrugged. "I guess."

"Excuse me," I said, offended. Did no one remember who won last time?

Felix looked at me. "Oh yeah. Maybe not. It's a three team game."

"Thank you." I brushed off my pants from the dirt.

Peter shrugged. "I won."

I frowned. "You wish you won."

He raised his eyebrow again. "I did w-"

"Game Over!" One of the boys yelled through the forest.

Peter grinned. He was so happy. But if he won, someone would have already yelled it. And they didn't.

I felt Felix squinting at me so I turned and gave him his own dose of squinting. "What?"

"Did you find Peter first?"

I did. I saw him through the bushes before he saw me.

"No," Peter interrupted. "I found her."

"Oh," Felix said slightly confused.

"Why?" I asked. I had an inclination to what he was getting at but I decided to let him explain anyway.

"Because if you did, that would have meant you-"

"Won." I finished and pulled out his glowing flag from my pocket.

"Damn it," he cursed, glaring at the bright yellow flag. He was right but not happy about it.

"You really need to rethink your strategy when I've already been on your team."

He snatched his flag back and gave it a hard look. I think he thought maybe it really wasn't his flag but he knew I wouldn't cheat. How could I? Where was I going to get a glowing flag?

Peter's interest was piqued. "So she got yours and I got hers."

I frowned at him. "Not so fast." I pulled out his flag from the opposite pocket. "I did find you first."

His mouth opened just slightly to show he was shocked.

"How did you…?" He looked at his glowing red flag.

"I'm learning how your brain works. I'm not stupid. Your teammates also aren't that quiet."

He sighed and stepped closer to me. Once again, my heart began racing. I wanted to hit myself if this was how I was going to act around him now.

He plucked his flag from my fingertips, brushing his chest slightly against my arm before walking past me.

I bit my lip to suppress my smile.

"Good job, Wendy," Felix smiled at me. He wasn't mad he lost. He looked proud I had won.

"Thank you," I whispered mostly to myself.

That night, after my small celebratory storytelling, the boys were all over my two time winning streak and wanted a heroine in the story, I went into my room. I changed into my pajamas, an old shirt of Peter's and a random pair of sweat pants. I reminded myself to ask for new clothes. I had also taken a quick shower at the springs before returning. I made John and Michael take one too. I had washed some of my clothes as well.

I was almost ready for bed when Peter knocked on the open door.

"Hi," I said softly, lighting a candle on my dresser. I might not have Peter to take the scary dreams away but I had a candle and that had to work.

"Hello," he said just as soft. I heard the nervousness behind it.

"What's wrong?" I asked. I blew out the match and placed it in a small bowl of water to make sure it was out.

"I just wanted to make sure you were okay."

I gave him a concerned look. "Why wouldn't I be?"

He shrugged.

He was acting very suspicious. "Anything else?" I asked.

He shook his head.

"Alright then." I blew softly on the lamp's flame. The dim light of the candle would be fine to sleep in. The lamp would be too much.

"Goodnight," I said as I walked to my bed.

"Goodnight," he replied. He tapped his finger against the door frame before turning to the rope bridge.

I watched him take a step then stop. He turned around slowly. "Do you mind if I stay with you?" He asked quietly.

I gave him a small smile. "No, of course not." He still looked hesitant so I made a joke. "Just bring your own blanket. I'm not good at sharing."

He looked at me, the candle light reflecting in his eyes. "Neither do I."

Did you like it? I really hope so! I enjoyed writing this chapter! I also like subliminal messages in it, can you spot the ones at the end? Oooh.

Anyway, thank you for reading and practically eating up these past three chapters! I hope you enjoyed this one as well! I'll update again soon! :) Happy October!
