Four mouths passed by quickly on Berk and before you could blink, Snoggletog was just around the corner. Vikings where out in their droves, hanging decorations and building a large tree like structure in the town center. As the Vikings where preparing of the holidays, The dragons of Berk where excited for their own holiday. Ebony, Meatlug, Stormfly and Hookfang where gathered in the arena, discussing the upcoming holiday.
"Mating season is almost upon us, I can't wait!" Meatlug smiled, trembling with excitement. Stormfly rolled her eyes and chuckled at her.
"Whats got you so excited? It's just mating season" Stormfly smirked, looking down at Meatlug.
"I know but this year is special! We could have baby Night Furies scurrying around this year" She squealed. Ebony looked up and yawned, still tired from helping Hiccup with the decorations.
"Ebony, will you and Toothless be coming with us to the nesting island?" Hookfang smiled lightly and she got to her feet, stretching.
"Yes, we'll be joining you" she smiled, looking up at the other dragons.
"I can' t wait to see what your eggs look like, I've never seen Night Fury eggs before" Meatlug giggled lightly and Ebony looked at them confused.
"Night Furies don't lay eggs, we have live births" She stated and the other dragons now looked at her confused.
"You don't lay eggs?" Stormfly asked lightly, keeping her voice down.
"Nope, I was always told that it was so that we can get a better survival rate for our young, since we're so rare and all. We only tend to have one or two young ones at a time" Ebony sighed lightly. Stormfly looked at her with concern.
"Ebony? Is something wrong?" She asked, nudging Ebony lightly.
"I don't know if I'm ready to become a mother Stormfly, It's just so much responsibility" She sighed, lowering her head.
"Ebony, look at me" Stormfly smiled lightly and Ebony looked up at her, a hint of sadness in her eyes.
"Do you love Toothless?" She questioned and Ebony looked up at her with shocked eyes.
"Of course I do! Does it even need to be said at this point?" She stated and Stormfly just rolled her eyes.
"I suppose it doesn't. You might be worried right now about becoming a mother Ebony but as soon as you and Toothless are on the nesting island, you'll understand" Stormfly smiled lightly, Meatlug and Hookfang nodding with her.
"She's right! I was feeling exactly the same the first time I went there but as soon as I got there, everything made sense" Meatlug smiled brightly.
"I'm sure you'll be a fantastic mother Ebony" Hookfang nudged her lightly and chuckled. Ebony smiled and looked up at her friends.
"Thank you, you guys are the best" She smiled before Toothless appeared at the entrance to the arena. He moved towards Ebony and snuggled up next to her, rubbing his head against hers.
"Hello everyone, what you talking about?" He purred lightly and Stormfly chuckled.
"Not much, just about mating season being just around the corner" She smiled and Toothless looked down at Ebony.
"Do you guys mind if we talk privately?" he sighed and the others nodded, slowly moving away from the two and out of the arena. Toothless nuzzled Ebony and smiled lightly.
"What's on your mind?" He whispered lightly into her ear and she nuzzled against him.
"I'm just worried. Having a child is a big responsibility, do you think we can do it?" Ebony sighed and Toothless rested his head on the side of her neck.
"It's up to you Ebony. Personally I do want to have a child but if your not comfortable, we can wait" he smiled, licking her neck lightly.
"I don't know, I just can't seem to get my head around it all. I still want to go to the nesting Island though, just to see what it's like" she sighed lightly and Toothless hummed lightly. The sound of footsteps brought them out of their conversation and they looked around to see Hiccup holding a mechanical tail fin.
"I hoped you two would be here, I brought a surprise for Toothless" Hiccup smiled and moved behind Toothless, slowly attaching the fin to Toothless' tail.
"Now bud, you can't break this one. I made it so you and Ebony could go to the nesting island without me having to come with you" Hiccup smiled and Toothless looked at him with sad eyes.
"Don't worry, it's only for this time of year. I can still go flying with you whenever you want any other time of year. This one is just for this occasion" he smiled and Toothless moved towards him, nuzzling him lightly. Hiccup chuckled before a loud roar could be heard overhead. They looked up to see a large group of dragons flying above them it was time. Ebony paced up to Hiccup and purred lightly, nudging him.
"I'm going to miss you guys" Hiccup smiled before hugging Toothless and then moving onto Ebony. Since she'd been on Berk, she'd gotten used to being touched by the vikings but still didn't feel comfortable being ridden yet. Snotlout found that out the hard way, again. Hiccup backed away from Ebony and Toothless lead the two out of the arena. Ebony took off and began to hover, waiting for Toothless to follow her. He took off too and hovered next to her. They turned back to Hiccup and he smiled.
"Have a great time! Come home safe!" Hiccup shouted and the two turned and flew up into the large group of dragons. Ebony looked over at Toothless and smiled. I was weird to see him fly on his own without Hiccup.
"It was kind of Hiccup to make you that new tail fin" She smiled brightly. Toothless looked across at her and smiled.
"He made me one like it last year but I destroyed it. I had no need for a tail fin I could work on my own and I really like Hiccups company when flying" He smiled and Ebony nodded. They stayed in almost silence for the rest of the way to the island, the sound of other dragons around them calling out for their mates filled the air. As the island came into view, Ebony was struck with how beautiful it looked. She stared on in amazement when they landed on the warm rocks below them.
"This place in beautiful" Ebony whispered and Toothless chuckled at her. They began to wander around the island and baby dragons rushed by them every few seconds. Ebony giggled lightly as a baby Nadder jumped around her and onto her back. The Nadder was called away and they carried on walking. Toothless paused in front of a cave and looked inside, smiling lightly and stepping inside. Ebony followed him inside and got settled down at the back of the cave. Toothless curled himself around her and placed his head on her back. They snuggled together for a while before Ebony's ears shot up. She flinched lightly as a baby Nightmare stumbled into the cave. Ebony looked around too see that Toothless had nodded off. She turned her attention back to the baby Nightmare when it sobbed lightly.
"Mama?" he called out lightly. Ebony slowly stood up and walked towards the little one. He must not have seen the Night Furies in the cave because he jumped as Ebony came into view.
"Hey, it's okay, I won't hurt you" Ebony smiled and he seemed to relax a little. Toothless rolled over and grunted lowly, Ebony decided not to wake him up.
"Are you lost?" Ebony whispered and the baby Nightmare nodded. Ebony looked out of the cave and smiled.
"Why don't you hop on my back, I'm sure we'll find your mama" She smiled and the baby Nightmare jumped lightly, excited to find help. Ebony knelt down so that the Nightmare could jump onto her back. They walked slowly though the masses of dragons and babies, the little one still calling for his mother. They kept walking until a voice shouted out.
"Flame! There you are!" A voice called out and a female Nightmare stepped towards them.
"Mama!" The little one shouted, jumping off her back and running to his mother. They nuzzled each other before the mother turned her attention to Ebony.
"Thank you for finding my son" She smiled and Ebony shrugged.
"He found me actually, he wondered into my cave. It just felt right to help him" Ebony smile and the Nightmare nodded.
"We don't find many Night Furies in these parts, you here with a mate?" The Nightmare asked lightly and Ebony nodded.
"In fact I am, His name is Toothless" Ebony smiled, looking around at the other dragons around her.
"Children can be a handful but they are a blessing. I'm going to guess this is your first time here" she smiled and Ebony looked at her in shock.
"Don't worry, we've all been in the same position." The Nightmare chuckled and Ebony looked back the way they came.
"I should be getting back to my mate" Ebony smiled lightly and the Nightmare nodded.
"Of course, thank you again for finding my son" She smiled and Ebony nodded as they started to walk away. As Ebony made her way back to the cave, she looked on at the baby dragons. Some where sleeping next to their parents, some where taking their first steps and other where running and flying around without a care in the world. She paused as a baby Zippleback stumbled in front of her. Ebony chuckled and reached down, nuzzling him back to his feet. He ran off and Ebony started to feel a sense of joy fill her heart. She looked over to see Toothless sat outside the cave. She paced up beside him and nudged him, taking him off guard.
"Hey, where have you been?" Toothless asked lightly, Ebony just walking past him and into the cave. She settled herself down on the ground and looked up at Toothless.
"A baby Nightmare wandered into our cave looking for his mother and I was just helping him find her" Ebony smiled.
"Well aren't you kind" Toothless chuckled and settled himself beside her, licking her neck lightly.
"Lets have a child" Ebony whispered lightly and Toothless' head shot up, he looked down at Ebony in shock.
"Did you just say?.." Toothless stuttered and Ebony nodded.
"Yes, lets have a child Toothless" Ebony chuckled at the look on Toothless' face.
"Are you sure about this?" Toothless just had to make sure before it was too late.
"Yes..." was all Ebony said before she reached up and licked Toothless' muzzle, causing him to sigh lightly.
(I CAN'T WRITE SEX SCENES! I'M SO SORRY! JUST IMAGINE THERE IS ONE HERE AND LETS MOVE ON!)
Ebony woke up in the early morning to find Toothless still collapsed at her side. She stood up and stretched before walking to the entrance to the cave. She sat in the entrance and watched the sun rise over the horizon. She smiled as a sudden warmth filled in her stomach. The joy she felt the day before filled her heart again and she smiled lightly. She looked down at her stomach and smiled.
"I'll do anything in my power to protect you, I promise..."
