Beckett had never felt like this in her entire life. Watching him, watching her, watching them together, all she wanted to do was grab Castle, kiss him and show everyone, especially her, that he was taken.
The "her" Beckett was referring to was Tracy Campbell, a journalist from a New York magazine doing a story on Richard Castle and the detective's he works with. They didn't currently have a case so they were stuck at the precinct so that morning had begun with Tracy asking them all a few questions each. She was meant to spend the next few hours just talking to them and seeing what life was like for them with a famous author following them around as well as how life was different now for him.
She had begun that way, talking to them all, but paperwork needed to be done so the boys had gone back to their desks to get some work done. This left Castle and Beckett alone with Tracy to talk to just the two of them. But she'd quickly shown much more interest in Castle so Beckett had let that happen, let Tracy just speak with Castle, so she could get some paperwork done as well.
The conversation between the two of them had begun innocently enough, they just spoke about his books and how working at the precinct helps him write. He'd cast a quick glance sideways then and she knew what he was thinking, she inspires him to write. He quickly looked back at the journalist and Beckett had to hide her smile behind her hand.
But everything changed when Tracy started flirting with him. It had started with comments, every now and then during her questions, she'd slip in a compliment. And Beckett could've handled that if that's all it was. It wasn't like Castle was flirting back or anything and she trusted him, knew he wouldn't ever cheat on her. But having to sit there and watch someone else flirt with her boyfriend while she had to sit there and pretend that she wasn't affected by it was not easy at all.
The final straw though, that thing that made her snap, was when Tracy had giggled at something Castle had said (which wasn't actually funny) and then she'd leant forward, placed her had on his arm and then said something in a low voice that Beckett hadn't even heard because she was trying desperately to not leap out of her chair and kiss Castle just to show everyone that he was hers.
But instead of doing that (which she'd thought about doing so many times throughout the morning), she stood up quickly, mumbled something about coffee and headed directly for the break room before she could do something she may regret in front of everyone.

Castle quickly excused himself from Tracy and followed Beckett into the break room, knowing exactly what must me on her mind. When we walked in he found Beckett there, her back to him as she was leaning forward with her hands on the bench and her head down and her shoulders hunched forward.
"Beckett?" She didn't respond but took a deep breath so he knew she'd heard him.
"Kate?" Castle said again, this time stepping close enough to place one of his hands over hers but he put his body in the way of the door so no one could see the hand holding if they walked in.
"Are you okay?" Castle asked when Beckett still hadn't said anything.
"Yeah," Beckett finally breathed, relaxing slightly and stepping a tiny bit closer to Castle.
"You know there's no one else but you, don't you?" Castle asked, wanting her to know, needing to be sure that she did.
"I know," Beckett said, turning sideways to face him, their hands still linked, "it's just hard when people don't know about us and I have to watch others flirt with you."
"Now you know how I felt when Agent Peters was here," Castle said because he'd definitely been jealous that day, watching someone else get close to her just like she'd been today.
"I do, but I also remember what happened that night…" Beckett trailed off, shifting her hand from under his to run her hand up the side of his, forgetting that they were in the busy precinct and could be busted at any minute.
"So do I," Castle shivered, remembering exactly what she'd done that night to show him how he was all hers.
"And tonight, I think we should-" she quickly stopped talking and jumped back slightly when she saw Esposito and Ryan through the window, heading towards the break room.
Ryan and Esposito both stopped in the doorway when they looked up and saw Castle and Beckett just standing there, frozen by the bench.
"Are you guys okay?" Esposito asked, giving them a suspicious look, wondering what they were doing in here alone. They'd both seen Beckett stand up quickly and Castle follow and they would've followed too, just out of curiosity, if Tracy hadn't intercepted them and started asking them questions.
"We're fine," said Castle after he'd cleared his throat and tried to get rid of the pictures in his mind of exactly what Beckett had been about to say.
"Let's get back to work," Beckett quickly continued, wanting to get out of there as soon as possible. And Tracy had just arrived at the door behind them and the jealousy that surged through Beckett at seeing her was enough to make her want to leave before she did turn around and just kiss Castle..

Castle had spent the rest of the time Tracy was there talking to the boys, at least so he wasn't alone with her and Beckett seemed more comfortable with that. Not that they'd even been alone before, Beckett had been right beside them but he'd been glad when Beckett had abruptly left because it gave him an excuse to move as well. He'd been uncomfortable throughout his whole chat with the journalist and he could see Beckett had been too. He'd been about to get up himself, especially after the arm touch but Beckett gave him excuse to leave too.
Tracey left a few hours later and Castle and Beckett couldn't have been more relieved about that. Now, they just had to wait until home time because they both wanted to show the other exactly how they felt about them.

Beckett giggled as Castle kissed down her neck before flipping her so he was on top again.
"Not that I'm a fan of seeing someone else flirting with you, but I definitely like the sex that follows," Beckett said as Castle kissed up her neck again before his lips were back on hers.
"Today it looked like you were going to jump over the desk and kiss me," Castle replied as Beckett moved her hands lower and pulled Castle closer to her.
"I was, why do you think I got up and left?" Beckett answered, loving how she could be so honest with him.
Castle just grinned in response before he moved his lips back over hers, still grinning as he kissed her, imagining what would've happened if she had actually just kissed him in the middle of the bullpen.
"The boys would celebrate, money would be passed around and Gates would probably kick you out," said Beckett, somehow reading his thoughts.
Castle was about to answer but it was cut off as he groaned at the feel of her hands against him. There was no more talking after that, not when her hands were there and his tongue was moving like that. They were about to show exactly how they felt about the other. Again.
What did you think?
