It literally seems like forever since I've updated on this story which is actually kind of disappointing since I really like it. That aside I am back and I'm going to give this story the attention that it deserves because I've recently gotten the inspiration to continue it. So here it goes and don't forget to leave me a review, but only if you want to.
Despite the seriousness of the situation Inuyasha snorted at her ability to make light of it. Rather than draw attention to herself and fawn over the fact that he was doting on her, she had decided to make a joke. Something that he actually appreciated. "Now that you mention it, we always seem to meet each other in a bathroom."
He glanced up at her from beneath his lashes while still dabbing at the coffee gently. The shirt of going to be stained but at least the damage to her skin was nothing more than a minor scalding. Besides that he noticed the blush that colored her cheeks and that she was also avoiding looking at him. He chuckled softly then sat back on his heels when he had finished. "There all done."
Kagome let out a breath that she had no idea she'd been holding in and met his eyes. "Thank you." She said quietly. On the outside it seemed like she was keeping her cool but in reality she really wanted to collapse into a heap on the floor due to embarrassment. Her inner CEO came out then and she handled the current situation as professionally as possible. "Ahem." She cleared her throat and gave him a small smile. "I'm sorry Mr. Taisho but seeing as how I'm currently indisposed I think it would be best if we were to reschedule our meeting for a later date."
While she talked she was edging back slowly towards the bathroom door. Inuyahsa was watching her with a quizzical expression like he was trying to decide what to make of her, which in reality was exactly what he was doing. He opened his mouth to say something but she held her hand up to stop him. "Really I think it's for the best. I'll let your people get in touch with my people and then we can settle this later on. Okay?" She didn't even wait for him to say anything. "Good. Great even! Um, well thank you for going out of your way to come by today..." Kagome looked around her fumbling for something else to say, then her back hit the door and relief flooded through her. "Good-bye." With a quick bow she hurried through the door and to her car.
Inuyasha was still in the same position he had been in before, blinking at the still swinging bathroom door in surprise. He stood up still confused, to no one in particular he asked, "What just happened?"
One thing that Kagome is really good at is avoiding an awkward situation. Something that we should all admire. Hopefully no one will experience any second hand embarrassment but on the off chance that you do...it's okay, because you weren't actually there. Anyway I'll try my best to update sometime soon and I might just do once a week updates instead of daily ones because they seem so much less stressful.
