Chapter 14: Taking Back The Future!
'With Pacifica now taking on the role of her star ancestor, she has taken Dipper out of the fight, just leaving Eric to save them all! Will he win?'
Previously
Seeing Dipper coming towards her, Pacifica remains firmly planted, smirks and points the first two digits on her right finger in his direction, a beam now emerging from them as if she is firing a gun. Seeing the beam coming towards him and with no time to react, Dipper is impacted by the beam, thus being changed to stone.
"Dipper!" Mabel screams, now removing Cyrus's hands from her mouth and banging on Cyrus's walls. "Let me out of here! I have to help Dipper!"
"Too bad, he had such great promise." Pacifica says, evilly laughing. "But now, it'd be really amusing to see what the little princess will do without someone to protect her."
Turning from Dipper's stone encases body, the sorceress now turns to Eric.
"What do you now warrior?" Pacifica grins. "Your only comrade is encased in stone and your beloved is a prisoner of war. Any last requests before I lay you to rest as well?"
"Yea, just one!" Eric growls. "Don't count me out just yet because I will fight tooth and nail until this battle is won, by me!"
"And how can you be so sure of that?" Pacifica challenges, narrowing her eyes at the king.
"Eric, don't do it!" Mabel screams to her boyfriend. "I'll be fine, just please don't fight with her! I don't want to lose you like I did my brother! I'll find a way out of this, just don't put yourself in danger for me!"
"You better head the words of your princess." Pacifica encourages. "They are, after all, the smartest thing she has said to date!"
"Don't you ever insult her like that!" Eric snaps to the sorceress as he wields his sword. "She is twice the ruler you wish you were! Mabel is the reason I have the strength to fight on and you better believe I'm not going to let you win! I will fight until my last breath for her! There are two stars that are shining brightly in the heavens and I refuse to let them be eclipsed by the darkness of your evil intentions!"
'Well, if that is your final wish, then so be it." Pacifica confirms with a slight nod. "After all, who am I to deny you your final wish?"
Through the commotion, Gideon's unconscious form now changes becomes transparent and vanishes from the battle scene.
Journal '1'
In the journal right above the picture of the future rulers of the Star Kingdom, a golden light shines following a scripture appearing on the page, it stating:
In the highest point in the sky, two stars are soaring high, the brightest stars in the heavens. The forces of darkness can never dim their light, as the forces of good kept their light shining bright!

Considering the amount of tension that is looming over this one area, if it were butter, it could be cut with a knife and if looks could kill, between Pacifica and Eric, it would be a double KO!
"So warrior, tell me." Pacifica begins as she opens her left hand, palm facing towards the sky as a black orb appears in it. "What truly is yourfinal wish? Granting wishes is my specialty you know."
"To be rid of the likes of you two!" Eric replies, his sword still drawn as he narrows his eyes at the blonde. "Now how many wishes do I get to make that happen?!"
Growling, the blonde closes her hand and turns her back to Eric. Making her way over to Cyrus, Pacifica now catches with Mabel's distressed gaze which gains her a confused look from the older pines. The blonde then smirks at her.
"You know something Eric, I must admit that I have always envied Mabel just a little." Pacifica arrogantly states, now turning back to him. "Despite how annoying she is, I've always admired her optimism and outlook on life."
Mabel and Eric both send the blonde confused stares. This is still a battle right?
"What are you getting at sorceress?" Eric snarls. "And spit it out! I don't have all day!"
"My, aren't we impatient?" Pacifica smirks as she turns back to Mabel. "But my point is, you know what they say about competition. When one feels threatened enough, they then knock off the competition, thus eliminating any and all threats."
"What are you going to do to me?" Mabel asks, her voice shaky from fear as she back up against Cyrus's walls to get away from Pacifica.
Mabel's question is answered by the blonde's widening smirk.
"You better not lay a hand on her!" Eric warns. "I will end you right here and now if you even think about touching her!"
"Now, who said I was going to hurt the little darling?" Pacifica replies, her smirk unmoving. "I just want to make a few things clear."
Raising her right hand and pointing her palm in Mabel's direction, Pacifica's palm begins to glow with dark energy. With Mabel's vision caught with her hand, her pupils completely disappear with her slumping against the wall of Cyrus as her eyes slide close. Closing her hand, Pacifica gives the girl a tiny wave as if she could see her.
"Good bye sweet princess." Pacifica whispers.
"MABEL! NO!" Eric shouts. "What did you do to her?!"
"I simply put the little darling to sleep." Pacifica calmly answers as she turns back to Eric. "For eternity! That would be what I meant when I said knocking off the competition!"
"I'm going to destroy you!" Eric threatens, tightening his grip on his sword. Hastily lunging towards the blonde, Eric leaps into the air and just as he brings his sword down on the blonde, a dark orb forms around her, which deflects the warrior, slinging him towards the ground on his back.
"You might now want to try that again." Narsus laughs.
"I'll fight you two until my last dying breath!" Eric hisses as he leaps back to his feet, sword in hand. "I refuse to back down!"
Having slipped into unconsciousness, Mabel now opens her eyes and notices that she is no longer on the battle field, but is in a black and starry space with darkness that extends for miles. Focusing her vision, Mabel gets to her feet and begins walking, taking small steps to ensure not to fall or trip anywhere in the darkness. Looking around as she walks, the young girl is quickly becoming flustered at the scenery.
"Hello!" Mabel calls out to the darkness, hoping against hope that she is not alone. "Hello, is anyone here? Mabel doesn't like being in strange places alone! So if anyone is here, say something!"
"You are not alone Mabel." Mabellita's voice speaks to the young girl from the right, Mabel now turning in that direction and spotting her future self walking towards her. "And you're in the Star Dimension. Well the limbo version of it anyway."
Upon hearing where she is, Mabel could swear she felt her jaw hit the floor.
"Mabellita?! The Star Dimension?! Limbo?!" Mabel asks as Mabellita stops just inches from her. "Am I dead? How did I get here? What are you doing here? I saw in a projection Narsus showed us that you vanished from the kingdom. If we're in the Star Dimension, how did you get here?"
'It's true, I was vanquished from the kingdom by Narsus and no, you're not dead." Mabellita replies. "With what power that he was able to gain, he took advantage of my already weak condition and banished me here."
"Ok so how do we get out of here?" Mabel asks, her voice full of panic. "I have to go back to the battle to help Eric fight against Pacifica and Narsus! He won't be able to hold up much longer against them and if he loses, all of Gravity Falls will be in a lot of trouble! Especially now that Narsus has all of my power! Dipper was in the fight too, but Pacifica turned him to stone! I can't help them because I'm trapped in Cyrus, well I was anyway! But there is nothing I can do to stop them from here or out there in Cyrus! What am I going to do Mabellita?! Eric won't win against them!"
Taking in everything Mabel has said, Mabellita releases a breath she was holding in and slightly smiles at the younger pines.
"Mabel, please listen to me." Mabellita gently speaks to the girl as she kneels down to meet her at level. "It isn't over. I have watched as you struggled and were dominated by Narsus while he used Gideon to get to you, but it doesn't have to end there. Narsus may think he has the upper hand when truthfully, you have more power than he does. You are the rebirth of me, which makes you more powerful than even myself. You can't let the star legacy die out, you have to make sure those two points of light that are you and Eric continues shining bright. The kingdom and this entire dimension is depending you two."
"That's what Eric said." Mabel replies. "But how can I continue to fight? I'm powerless to stop Narsus and Pacifica, who Narsus is calling Polara Northstar."
"Polara Northstar." Mabellita practically hisses. "I didn't think she'd show her face again after going the round with my family! Polara is a vicious enemy, but she is no threat as she has been defeated by an Athura before and will be again!"
"But how?" Mabel asks, frustration practically dripping from her words.
"Because I'll be with you, fighting alongside you." Mabellita replies. "And with me by your side, you will win because I'll be here, in your heart giving you every ounce of strength that you need."
Extending her right index finger, Mabellita now touches the space where Mabel's heart is, a spectrum of light shining on the area.
"With me here, you can't lose." Mabellita speaks softly to the girl. "I won't let you."
"She's right you know." Dipper's voice speaks from behind Mabel, both girls now turning in the direction of his voice. Upon seeing her brother alive and well, a wide smile appears on Mabel's face.
"Dipper!" Mabel practically screams, now running over to the boy and engulfing him in a death bear hug. "I thought you were gone for good!"
"It's good to see you too sis." Dipper manages to speak through Mabel's rib crushing hug.
Having squeezed the life out of her twin, Mabel now releases him.
"Hey Mabellita." Dipper greets to the woman.
"Hello young warrior." Mabellita greets to him with a smile.
"Dipper, this is my future self remember?" Mabel happily announces to her twin.
"I remember her Mabel, don't worry." Dipper confirms with a nod.
"Wait, Mabellita." Mabel begins, her surroundings now reminding her once more of where she is. "How did Dipper get here?"
"Anyone who is defeated by Narsus or Polara ends up here." Mabellita explains as she approaches the two. "This is the area of the star dimension where souls of the warriors in the legacy go to rest until they are called on in either the world or the dimension. It's not permanent, just temporary. I landed here because Narsus still has his hooks in the dimension."
"But we saw you seal off the kingdom from Narsus's dark magic the last time we were here." Mabel says. "How is that possible?"
"Your power Mabel." Mabellita answers. "When using Gideon as a host to get to you and drain what power you had, he was able to re-establish what connection he lost using your power. While he was able to bring us all here, we will not remain here, I promise that."
"How do you know that?" Mabel curiously asks.
With no words spoken by Mabellita, the queen now takes Mabel's right hand and with a smile, vanishes into a flash of light. A star shaped pendant that is an exact copy of the one Mabellita's mother gave her now appears around Mabel's neck. Noticing the pendant around her neck, Mabel lifts it up and eyes it.
"This is the pendant Mabellita's mother gave her." Mabel whispers as she turns to her twin.
"Mabellita is with you Mabel." Dipper comments. "While Narsus and Pacifica have your power, you and Eric combined have the power to change the course of history. If Pacifica and Narsus win, the star legacy will die out, which will give darkness and evil the chance to spread and alter the history of the Star Kingdom in the worst way. You can't let that happen, I know you, you won't let that happen."
"I won't." Mabel nods, regaining her determination.
"A lot hangs in the balance and rests on your shoulders." Dipper states. "But hey, no pressure or anything."
"I will win this battle Dipper, for you, for Mabellita, for everyone!" Mabel firmly states.
"Don't forget about Eric." Dipper lightly laughs. "He's fighting right alongside of you."
"How could I." Mabel says, her expression softening just a bit. "I could never do that."
Continuing to smile to his sister, Dipper now pulls Mabel into a hug.
"I can't say enough how proud of you I am." Dipper says to her. "Everyone is and if mom and dad knew about your destiny, they would be too."
Releasing her, Mabel and Dipper's gazes now catch.
"I promise not to let anyone down." Mabel nods with a smile.
With her gaze still caught with Dipper's, Mabel doesn't notice that her body is now becoming transparent. Dipper looks down and notices that Mabel's bottom lower half has completely disappeared. Noticing where her brother's eyes are, Mabel looks down and notices that she is disappearing. Her worried gaze now catches back with his, panic evident in her brown eyes.
"Dipper! I'm disappearing!" Mabel begins panicking.
"No Mabel, it's your time." Dipper calmly replies to the panicking girl. "You're being called back to the battle, but hey, I'll see you on the other side and remember, don't give up. Everyone is counting on you."
Quickly getting her panic under control, Mabel smiles to her brother as she closes her eyes, a single tear now slipping down her right cheek.
Mabel's brown eyes now fly open with her sitting up with a start. Quickly looking around at her surroundings, she immediately notices that she is back inside Cyrus, but most importantly, back on the battle field. Looking out towards the field, Mabel now notices that Pacifica and Narsus are standing over a defenseless Eric. Slanting her eyes in anger, the young princess's temper begins flaring at the scene and in the process, the pendant around her neck begins glowing.
~I can't say enough how proud of you I am. If mom and dad knew of your destiny, they would be too.~
~I promise not to let anyone down.~
"I won't let anyone down!" Mabel says to herself as she grips the pendant. "Not me, not Dipper, not Mabellita, no one!"
Having made that declaration, the pendant begins glowing brighter and to anyone on the outside, blindly bright! Cyrus, who is focusing on the battle with a wide smirk on his features, begins feeling himself warming up at a rapid rate. Looking inwardly at Mabel, the spirit notices the blinding light emanating from the young girl.
"Hey, what are you doing-" Cyrus begins, but is abruptly cut off by his bubble form exploding and splattering all over the field like a ghost's ectoplasm after being blasted. Ok, bad example, but you get it.
"Say good night warrior!" Pacifica taunts as she and Narsus close in on the injured and defenseless king.
"Back off or you'll have to deal with me!" A womanly voice warns to the two necromancers. Narsus, immediately recognizing who that voice belongs to, whips around with his eyes widening at the sight. Pacifica also whips around, her eyes going wide as well. Noticing that the two are distracted, Eric now looks around them with his mouth immediately gaping open at what he notices.
"Mabel?!" Eric chokes out. "Is that you?"
