Chapter 14

Bella POV

"Bella! Bella! Bella, wake up!" a voice was saying. I was shaking. Everything was shaking. I screamed as my eyes jolted open from a deep sleep. "Bella, Bella, it's me, Sue," the voice said. I looked over and saw Sue Clearwater staring at me. A look of concern crossed her face. "Are you feeling okay, Bella?" she asked. I nodded as I wiped the sweat from my forehead. I kept my eyes closed, trying to calm myself down. Fin Fang Foom's men captured me while I was sleeping so for me to sleep is hard and for me to be woken up by someone is even worse.

Sue sat there looking at the wall until a look of realization hit her face. "Geez, Bells, I am so sorry. Your father just asked me to come check on you because you didn't go to school and he wanted to make sure you were safe," she said. I didn't go to school? I looked at the clock. It was 11:00 already. Wow. I guess thinking about Jasper until ten minutes before I had to get up was not the best idea. And I still did not come to a conclusion.

"I can go Sue. I just overslept. I didn't mean to," I said as I got out of bed. Another look of concern from Sue and I knew what she was thinking. Bella Swan, oversleeping, since when? Since Bella Swan sees beautiful blonde dead boys in the forest.

"Bella, you can just stay home if you want. A friend of yours called anyway. And offered to get your homework. Isn't that sweet?" she said. This caught my attention. "What friend?" I asked. "Alice Cullen," she responded. Alice Cullen, the vampire, goes to school.

"Sue, I didn't know the Cullen's went to school around here. Are they all in school?" I asked. "Yes. There is Alice, Edward, and Emmett," she responded. "That's it?" I asked. "Yes," she responded.

I remember meeting the three of them out in the woods. Sue says there are only three Cullen's in school. Than who were all of the other vampires that I saw?

And maybe when Alice told me in gym that she had two step siblings named Rosalie and Jasper, what she forgot to tell me is that they go to a different school. Who knows.

So many questions again but not the time to lay around thinking about them. "Sue, can you call father and tell him I am fine. I just couldn't get to sleep last night. I am up and am going to get ready!" I said.

I made it to school just in time for eighth period which was studio art. I crutched in and took a spot in the back as Mrs. Carraway welcomed us back. "Hello class! Today we are going to begin with some expression drawing. I want you to draw something that shows how you are feeling right now" she said. I pulled out my notepad and my pencil. I stared at the page. How am I feeling right now? Let's see confused, sad, lost, in pain, yet kind of hopeful. How do you put all that into one drawing?

I sat there for over ten minutes staring out the window at the rain plopping down until the idea plopped into my brain.

At the end of class, I had my almost finish product. We weren't supposed to work on it that long but I felt determined. The bell rang and I put my pencil down.

I decided to draw Jasper. He represented all of the feelings that I felt right now. It was a pretty good drawing too. I stuffed it in my bag and grabbed my crutches.

I only had one class left today. I only went to two classes anyway. I laughed to myself a bit. I mean, is there a point?

I crutched into Spanish and took another seat in the back. "Hola clase," Mr. Fort said. "Hola," the class repeated back. "I am going to do some speaking in English this morning, just to get us on the right track for this lesson. Today we are going to talk about weather using the Spanish language. I want you to know how to say, 'Está lloviendo fuera' which also means that it is raining outside," he said. "I want you to know cold, windy, snowy, FREEZING, and even hot, even though we don't get a lot of the here," he said and snickered.

Mr. Fort began saying words in English and telling us what the Spanish translations were. We would move on to a new subject but then he would all of sudden, out of nowhere, ask us a translation that we just learned. We had to repeat it on command.

"Hot." "Caliente."

"Cloudy." "Nublado."

"Cold." "Frío."

Just then the door opened. "Mr. Hale, it's so nice of you to finally join us. Please take a seat," Mr. Fort said. The boy had a large raincoat on and was facing the wall while taking it off. He pulled his hood down and my mouth dropped open. Those blonde locks. There is no way. I stood up to get a better look. My eyes were searching to find out who this was.

"Miss Swan, is there a problem?" Mr. Fort said. I heard his voice but I could not answer and I could not look away from the blonde haired boy. Just then he turned around and he looked at me. His golden eyes connected with my brown eyes. At that moment, I knew it was him. It was really Jasper.

I felt woozy. "Miss Swan," Mr. Fort said. I was dizzy. "Jasper," I whispered. Just as I was falling, I saw a look on his face of curiosity. Then everything went dark.
