Chapter 14: Damnit Tyler!

Sam's POV

I wasn't sure giving Tyler a bed was the best way to cope with things in fact I'm not sure if she was asleep or not but she had the covers up over her head and she was motionless. Dean had gotten up and I had followed him out the door.

"What's keeping her from just running off behind our backs?" I asked Dean as I watched the door.

"Her bike is parked right next to baby." Dean answered me raising an eyebrow with a grin. "She wouldn't leave that ride unless she absolutely had to."

"Alright but she won't stay the night." I said to him still quietly.

"Oh but she will if she wants to keep her bike." Dean said moving towards her ride.

"I'm not sure that's a good idea Dean." I said watching him as he moved around looking for a way to easily dismantle part of the bike that she would notice so she wouldn't leave.

"Great, what other idea's do you have?" He asked me.

"Why can't we just grab her keys?" I asked him.

"You think she'll actually let us do that?" He asked me with a smirk.

"We can try can't we?" I said with a shrug.

"Fine you go grab them." He said staring at me with a smirk. He must have thought I'd chicken out because when I shrugged and headed back to into our room he was following me with wide eyes. We were silent as I tiptoed in and Dean provided some cover noise by yawning and rustling around. I could see fairly well and I knew she left her keys in the pockets of her jeans that were by her bed. I silently crept over and felt around for the material slowly so I wouldn't accidentally brush something. When I found them and the pocket that the keys were in I nodded to Dean who jumped into bed while I pulled them out of her pocket. She rolled over and glared at Dean then looked to me.

"Sorry Tyler, couldn't find my phone. I got it." I whispered.

"Whatever." She said narrowing her eyes at me before rolling over and maybe going back to sleep. I just smiled to myself putting her keys in my pocket, gripping them tightly so they wouldn't make a sound, and went to the couch next to her bed. I slowly felt myself drifting off to sleep only to be plagued by nightmares. But I could handle them now. It was like they were muted.

"Come on sleepy heads." Tyler's voice woke me up. "It's beyond time to get moving. There's monsters and ghosts waiting to be busted out there."

"Still going to Bobby's first you nutcase." Dean's tired voice answered her.

"Hey Sam, I'm going to need my keys back eventually." She called, probably from the bathroom.

"You knew and you didn't stop me?" I asked her not even opening my eyes.

"I didn't know for sure until this morning when I woke up and my keys weren't in my pocket and the lining was outside my jeans." She called again. I heard water start.

"Well isn't she just fun in the morning?" Dean said sitting up.

"You know she isn't going to go to Bobby's with us willingly just because we all worked one case together." I said glancing at the closed door that lead to the bathroom.

"I think she will Sam." Dean said looking at the door with me but with a softer expression.

"And what makes you think that?" I asked him. At this point I knew he had some information that I didn't.

"Because she knows we're good and we may be the only family she's got left." He said seriously. For a long time it had been just Dean and I. Sure, we'd teamed up with other hunters every once in awhile but it was different than having a sister. The closest thing was when we worked with Bobby.

"Yeah and you remember what she said when we were first chasing after her?" I said to him remembering the chase over roof tops.

"No. What'd she say?" Dean asked not taking his eyes off the door our sister was behind.

"She said that she wasn't with us when she thought we weren't us." I told him. I could feel the tears pricking at the back of my eyes but I didn't let them leak out.

"And now she knows we're who we say we are." Dean said dismissively.

"But what if she thinks she isn't safe anymore?" I said again. Dean was going to answer but he water shut off and he shut his mouth.

"We'll cross that bridge when we get there Sammy." He said instead rubbing his hand across his face. I nodded and laid back on Dean's bed watching the ceiling. I heard the bathroom door open and close. "What took you so long princess?" Dean's voice chuckled. Silence answered him. I looked over, curious, and Tyler was glaring at Dean like she was going to eat him for dinner.

"Don't ever call me princess if you want to keep yourself in one piece." She threatened. She sounded furious. Beyond furious in fact.

"Okay okay! Take a breath." I said standing up and putting my hands up to show I wasn't going to hurt her.

"I'm not going to hurt you." She hissed. "Or Dean."

"Don't ever make empty threats." Dean said.

"I wouldn't if I could hurt you. In fact if I could I would have already but I made a promise. And I know I'm going to need to keep it. You both need to let go and forget that I ever existed because we can never be one big happy family." She said pulling out a knife slowly.

"Come on. You just said you wouldn't hurt us." Dean smiled. "I call bull." He stated quietly walking towards her.

"Dean-" I started but he stopped me.

"She's already in too deep to hurt me Sammy. That feeling of fear in your chest?" Dean addressed her. She was backing up but she didn't look scared yet at least. "You're not afraid of me. You're afraid you're going to get your ass whooped by me. You don't want to loose what little you have left in this world. Because nobody gave a shit before we came along did they?" He said to her.

"You're both holding me back." She said calmly.

"Bull." Dean said calmly. Tyler was now back against the wall and moving sideways to get away from him.

"Dean." I said warning him.

"You aren't going to hurt me. So put the blade down and let's talk about all this." Dean said to her.

"No. Sorry Dean but I gotta go." She said sadly before ducking into the bathroom and locking the door.

"Damnit Tyler!" Dean growled pounding on the door. I heard the roar of the engine and the squeal of tires and I knew she was gone. Dean shimmied the lock and opened the door to find the bathroom empty and the window open.

"She's already gone Dean. Her bike with her." I told him with a heavy sigh.

"Well something set her off." Dean said irritably. I just looked at him.

"No, really." I gave him my bitch face.

"Alright we'll track her down and drag her sorry ass back to Bobby's in chains if we have to and then we'll take care of this crap." Dean sighed. "Pack up. We're off in five." Dean said grabbing his cell.
