Day 5 - Friday November 29th 2013
"So what did you do today?" I ask Monroe over our dinner of leftovers.
It's Friday night and things had been quiet at work. Even in the Wessen world things seemed to be slowing down. I'm not sure weather to be relieved or worried, it could be the calm before the storm.
"Well I finished up Mr. Henderson's watch and I'm going to deliver it tomorrow and I started on Mrs. Jones' clock but I have to order a part. How about you?"
"I don't think there's anymore paperwork to be done in the entire office. We haven't been given a case and no one seems to need our help so Hank and I ended up playing card games for two hours before we called it a day."
"And what's on the agenda for tomorrow? I've got to work, I'm behind on a project due Monday."
"I think I'm gonnna go over to the shop. See if Rosalie has anything I could do."
"What? You don't want to be with me?" I look at Monroe to see he's smiling.
"You said you have to work."
"Well yeah but not all day."
"You should come to the shop when you're done, we did promise Rosalie lunch a week ago."
Monroe laughs, "I suppose we did." He stands from the table, picking up our plates to rinse and put in the dishwasher.
"What do you want to do now?"
"Isn't this when you would usually practice your cello?"
"Yeah."
"I want to hear you play."
"Oh, okay."
I follow Monroe into the living room where he takes his cello from it's spot in the corner and sits in his chair. I sit on the couch, legs crossed under me and watch him make sure the instrument is properly tuned. When he starts playing, the tune is one I don't recognize. Monroe is completely focused on what he's doing, his eyes never leave the instrument. I am focused on the way his fingers move over the strings. I listen intently and there doesn't need to be lyrics to feel the emotions portrayed by the song.
We stay that way for hours. Monroe plays and I listen. When he stops and the spell breaks I realize that my legs are numb and my back stiff. Monroe flexes both of his hands before he gets up and puts the cello away.
"Let's go to bed." He reaches out, helps me up off the couch, and I let him lead me upstairs.

Oooh! New chapter! I just felt like posting again, IDK why. Maybe the fact that my baby girl decided to have a growth spurt and I've grown three inches in the stomach, so that made me think of this story. And the fact that she's kicking almost constantly and my fiancee isn't here to feel it has kind of made me a little lonely. Anywho, enough about me, let us know what you thought :) Love you all :)
