Teddy's POV
"This is ridiculous. I won't support this." Dad said as he paced across the room before abruptly stopping at looking directly at my wife. "How much?"
I'm not usually a violent guy, but in that moment I was ready to kill my father again. I sprang up from the sofa but before I could reach him, my Angel came between us. She put her hands on my chest and pleaded with me with her eyes.
"Let me answer." She almost whispered before I nodded my head and she turned to face my father. How was it possible for this petite young woman to be so brave, I've seen grown men crumble from just a look from him and here she is facing him head on. "I'm not for sale Mr. Grey. I can't be bought." She then turned to face me. "My love for your son in unconditional and I will spend the rest of my life proving that I am worthy of his love to him." She rose up on her tip toes and gave me a tender kiss before turning to face my father once again. I didn't think it was possible to love her more, but in that moment I did. "I won't apologize for loving your son; maybe if you weren't blinded by anger you could see that I'm not my father."
With pride I wrapped my arms around her waist "You of all people should know that Dad." Yes, I knew that my father had a terrible start to his life. Just like he wasn't his mother, Lauren wasn't her father. "I'll be by tomorrow to pick-up my stuff." We turned to leave.
"If you do this, I won't support you."
"Christian don't do this." My mother begged, but she of all people should know that once Christian Grey's mind is made up it doesn't change, with that we left.
Lauren's POV
Once we were alone in the car I crumbled. "I'm so sorry Teddy. I understand if you want an annulment. I won't fight it or make it difficult on you."
"Are you kidding?" He pulled me so that I was practically in his lap. "I'm so proud of you. I. Love. You." He said between kisses.
"But what are we going to do now? Your father just cut you off, and mine will too once he finds out we are together."
"We are going to go to your house and celebrate with your mom. Tomorrow we will go see my grandfather about my trust and see what we need to do to get you into school in New York in the fall."
"We're really going to do this?" I asked as he brushed a piece of hair behind my ear.
"Yeah." He kissed my wedding ring. "You're stuck with me for better or worse Mrs. Grey."
"For as long as we both shall live Mr. Grey." I agreed with a smile as we began our journey hand in hand. It wasn't going to be easy, but as long as we were together we would be okay.
Sandra's POV
It wasn't an easy decision, they are both so young, but I know my daughter loves this man with everything ounce of her being. I had no doubt in my mind when Teddy told me how he feels about my daughter and asked for her hand in marriage. Reminding them of their age wasn't going to change how they feel, so I gave him my blessing.
"Congratulations!" I yelled when they arrived. My daughter ran into my waiting arms. I looked at Teddy and he seemed concerned. My daughter is a lover, not a fighter and I hate to see her upset at what should be a magical time in her life. "I take it you just told your family." I said to my new son-in-law as I continued to hold my little girl.
"We just left and it didn't go over very well." That was probably putting it mildly if the scene at the graduation had been a pre-curser to today.
"Let's sit down. I want to hear all about the wedding." Teddy had offered to let me witness their wedding, but I knew that it wasn't fair to his family and that they needed to take this step together, alone. For the first time since they walked in the door, my daughter smiled when I mentioned the wedding. Right now they didn't need any more reminders of the family drama that they were facing.
I sat down on the sofa and Teddy sat down with Lauren in his lap. "It was so beautiful Mom." She beamed as she began to tell me about the most important day of her life.
Lauren's POV
"Well you know that Teddy sent me a message to meet him at the gallery. It was odd because it was early and they weren't even open."
"My parents thought I was on my way to see my Pop in Montesano. I changed cars with Justin because I knew my dad would be tracking my car and phone." Teddy added.
"When I got to the gallery, the door was unlocked so I went in. Flowers were everywhere."
"Not everywhere." He's so modest.
"I called out for him and that's when I heard his guitar and then he began to sing." Just thinking about it made me melt further into his arms.
Somethin' in your eyes, makes me wanna lose myself
Makes me wanna lose myself, in your arms
There's somethin' in your voice, makes my heart beat fast
Hope this feeling lasts, the rest of my life
If you knew how lonely my life has been
And how long I've been so alone
And if you knew how I wanted someone to come along
And change my life the way you've done
It feels like home to me, it feels like home to me
It feels like I'm all the way back where I come from
It feels like home to me, it feels like home to me
It feels like I'm all the way back where I belong
A window breaks, down a long, dark street
And a siren wails in the night
But I'm alright, 'cause I have you here with me
And I can almost see, through the dark there is light
Well, if you knew how much this moment means to me
And how long I've waited for your touch
And if you knew how happy you are making me
I never thought that I'd love anyone so much
It feels like home to me, it feels like home to me
It feels like I'm all the way the back where I come from
It feels like home to me, it feels like home to me
It feels like I'm all the way back where I belong
It feels like I'm all the way back where I belong
"I almost couldn't finish when I saw here."
"By the way, how did my new painting get to the gallery?" I didn't really need an answer. "Anyway, Teddy was standing in front of it and as soon as he finished he put down his guitar and took my hand in his."
"Did he get down on one knee?" My mother asked.
I looked into my loving husband's eyes. "Yes. It was so romantic mom."
"I was sweating bullets. I was so afraid she would think I was crazy." Suddenly we were alone in the room.
"You asked me to trust you." I whispered before I kissed him tenderly.
"I love you."
"I love you too." The sound of my mother crying pulled us back into her presence.
"I'm sorry but that was so beautiful."
"Anyway, he reached into his pocket and pulled out this ring." My mother took my hand in hers and inspected my ring finger.
"It's beautiful." I love it, it's the perfect size. With pride Teddy told her that it was his great grandmother's. "Sounds like a birthday you will never forget."
"That's an understatement." We all laughed.
"I had to be back today, or my dad would go thermonuclear on me. Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia all have a three day waiting periods for a marriage license and I didn't want to wait another day to make her my wife so we drove to Idaho."
"I bet it was beautiful."
"Thank you for supporting us mom. Do you want to see the video?"
Teddy's POV
It was nice to see my Angel finally relax as she told her mother about our wedding day. I know it is a day we will never forget. As much as I would have loved to share it with our families, I know that we made the right decision.
We watched our wedding video. Sandra and Lauren both cried and then we ate dinner, sang happy birthday, and ate cake.
"It's been a long day. I think we will turn in." Sandra had told us that we were always welcome in her home and it was a relief to both of us. Lauren took me to her room. I guess I hadn't realized how small the house was until we got there. Sleeping in a twin size bed was going to be a challenge, one that I was literally up for. As soon as the door clicked I had her up against it. Her legs instantly wrapped around me and she moaned when my hands roamed underneath her t-shirt.
"Ahhhh-chooo" The sound of the sneeze from the other room was like a bucket of ice water being thrown on me.
"Bless you." My Angel offered up to her mother who might as well have been in the same room with us as her feet found the floor.
"Thank you. Goodnight kids."
"Night, Mom. I'm sorry Teddy." She whispered. "We can go to the boathouse."
It wasn't a bad idea, but it would have been selfish. I didn't want Lauren to think that she had to give up her relationship with her mother too, so I pulled back the covers and climbed into the small bed and pulled her in with me. "We'll figure it out in the morning Mrs. Grey." She clung to me. I thought she was asleep when she spoke.
"Do you regret it?"
I pressed my lips against her forehead before I replied. "Not for a single second." And with that she drifted off to sleep.
Carrick's POV
I showed my grandson and his new bride into my home office where his aunt Kate joined us. Kate and I are the trustees on Teddy's trust fund. Kate and my son don't always see eye to eye, but they do respect each other.
"Thank you for meeting with us." Today Lauren looked nervous. Theodore never let go of her hand. I like the girl, she has guts. Not many people stand up to my son like that. Maybe that's why Kate seems to like her so much too.
"Of course, we have a lot to talk about." I offered them both a drink which they both declined. "Relax." They both took a breath.
"We love you Teddy." Kate offered. "What you did was impulsive and a bit reckless, but I think I get it. Liam probably would have done the same thing if Jason had said he couldn't marry Sophie." What is it about us Grey men? I know Liam would have done the same thing, hell, I would have done the same thing to be with Grace. It was nice to know that Liam and Sophie were offering help. Kate had told me that Lauren was going to be working for her for the summer and that they were going to be moving into the apartment at the ranch she owns and operates as one of the most sought after wedding venues in the area. At least they would be safe and surrounded by family.
"As you know, your father has said that he won't support you financially." Tears began to form in Lauren's eyes, so I handed her a box of tissue.
"It's going to be okay Angel." Ted reassured her.
"Yeah, the mogul can't do anything with the trust." Kate offered and Lauren smiled at the nickname.
"You do understand that Kate and I can only release funds as they are outlined in the trust." My words were firm, as much as I wanted to believe that this young lady was with my grandson for the right reasons, I wanted her to understand that she wasn't going to be able to get her hands on his trust fund.
"I don't want Teddy's money." Lauren reminded me. "I just want him to be able to get his education. I'll get student loans to pay for mine."
"She reminds me of Ana." Kate said with a smile and I had to agree. Lauren's grin lit up the room.
Teddy's POV
My grandfather explained to us the terms of my trust. My education would be paid for, but since my father had planned on paying for my living expenses that now fell on my shoulders luckily, $250,000.00 would be deposited into my account because of our marriage. If we were careful it would be enough.
"Keep in mind, unless you buy a home, you won't be getting anything else until you graduate."
"So we can use this money to pay for Lauren's education and a place to live without my father's approval."
"Yes, technically you can use it for whatever you need. It's a wedding gift from your parents."
"But they don't support our marriage." I hate seeing my Angle so upset. This is a good thing, it is what I anticipated when I asked her to marry me.
"Don't you see Angel? This was meant to be. We can be together without hiding it. You can tell your father off, and you can go to school."
"But what about your father? He will think that I'm using you for your money. He hates me."
"It our money, not mine and like you said yesterday. My love for you is just as unconditional. I have faith in you and our love. My father is a smart man, he will figure it out. How can he hate you? He doesn't know you?"
"Don't worry about the mogul; he used to hate me too." My Aunt Kate encouraged. "If you love Teddy the way that I think he loves you, it will all be okay. Just don't give up. He'll come around."
"Have you told your father yet?" My grandfather asked.
"No, but I think it's time." Lauren offered as she pulled out her phone and began to dial. This should be interesting.
