Allen grunted as he watched his master drink away at some expensive wine. Even though this man has returned to his General duties he is still an alcoholic, which ticked Allen off most about Marian Cross. However, he still cared about this man no matter how much he tells himself that he hate his master. Allen looked at the calendar and noticed it's been a full three weeks since Elizabeth disappeared. Life still went on in the Black Order just like it did even though there were times when everyone spoke about Elizabeth and how much they missed her.

Cross looked at Timcanpy, who was rested on his hand, and seemed to ponder about something. He doubted his cigarette and finally spoke.

"I guess it's about time to get Elizabeth's surprise ready," he said fixing his hair.

Allen looked over at him and wonder what he meant by surprise. Cross did not say anything but walked out of the lounge naturally Allen followed behind, curious about what his master was talking about. Continuing to speak nothing Cross walked on into the study and found Reever, who was seemed exhausted to the bone. He just looked at Cross and seemed to know what he came for, so he stood up and guided the two Exorcists to another room.

"Master, what's going on? What do you mean by surprise for Elizabeth?" Allen asked.

"You see Allen..." Cross began. "I gave you Timcanpy as your own personal golem. Since Elizabeth is also my apprentice I thought it would be fair if I got her something as well."

Allen tilted his head but then he heard barking coming from the room they entered and he was tackled by a rather large dog. The dog licked Allen face clean, making him laugh because this animal's tongue tickled his flesh. He managed to push the animal off himself to get a good look at it.

"So your surprise for Elizabeth is a dog?" He asked.

"I know that Elizabeth rather likes animals especially dogs. So I planned to have a dog specially trained to travel with her," Cross explained.

"But Master, what if Elizabeth does come back?" Allen worried.

"Remember what I told you, have faith in her."

Allen looked down as he stood up. The dog was looking up at Allen with seemingly happy look on its face and smiled as he could imagine how happy Elizabeth could be with this gift. Her Innocence gave Elizabeth the ability to connect with her instincts better than most people, making her seeming like an animal. And because of this people misunderstood Elizabeth for being inhuman, which is why she never had when she lived in Cannes. However, Cross and himself understood Elizabeth to a point and knew that her instincts are due to her Innocence but she must feel lonely knowing that she's only one who can feel this way in everyday life. Having an animal companion might do her some good because they could understand each other more.

"I added a communication device on the dog's ear so she could contact Headquarters, just like a golem. It's important for Exorcists to have something to help communicate with us. We should have given one to her sooner but this is no time to feel regret," Reever explained. "We had specialist train this dog to hide whenever demons are present because he's a living creature he can easily be killed by one."

Allen nodded as he understood what the Section leader was talking about. And wonder if the dog had a name yet and was also curious about the breed of the dog. His colouring was all black with a long double coat. He had a long muzzle and sharp pointy ears that stood high on his head. Allen gave him a rub on the head and the dog licked his hand.

"What's his name?" Allen wondered. "What breed is it?"

"His name is Kale and he's a Belgian Shepard of the Groenendael variety," Cross said blankly. "They're a fairly new breed but its intelligences are incredible. I figured Elizabeth could use a companion that understood her on a different level and this type of breed bond relationships easily."

Allen nodded. Again he thought about how happy Elizabeth would be when she sees this animal. Suddenly, Allen smile became a frown as he walked out the door. They have the dog but the one to receive this present is nowhere to be found. He became worried again as he wondered where she could possibly be. Allen did hope that she managed to escape the Earl's grasp and found some place safe. He noticed Kanda walking towards him, though Allen figured he wasn't coming by for a conversation.

"Where are you going?" Allen asked.

"I have another mission to go on," Kanda scowled.

"Where to exactly?" Allen was being curious, just for the sake of being curious.

"Africa, though I'm not sure which country. There are strange happenings going on in one of the countries and Komui wants me to go check them out," he explained. "I don't have time to waste talking to you."

Kale approached Kanda and licked his hand, wagging his tail.

"What is this dog doing here?" Kanda snatched his hand away.

"That's Elizabeth present from Master Cross," Allen said.

Kanda snorted then walked away from everyone to go on his way to his mission in Africa.
