Chapter 14
"Why is there blood on our porch?" Finn asked as he walked into the house, sitting on the couch.
"I totally beat the crap out of a guy this morning," Puck said, opening a beer.
"What? Dude, you can't just randomly beat guys up," Finn sighed. "Who was it? Because I'd like to not be completely clueless the next time a guy shows up at our house with backup ready to kick your ass."
"Brody Weston," Puck shrugged, sitting next to him and handing him a beer before taking a large sip of his own.
"Whoa, man…" Finn sighed. "I think he did something…I think he might have raped Rachel."
"He kept threatening me and then he started talking about…you know what, never mind. It doesn't matter." Puck sighed and took another sip. "Are you sure you're not just imagining it? Because you can be kind of paranoid sometimes."
"No, she's acting really weird and she keeps saying they just kissed but I know something else happened." Finn frowned. "But I'm gonna let her come to me about it; I can't pressure her into telling me."
"So what did you guys even do last night?" Puck asked.
"We saw a movie and then went back to her place and just played games all night," Finn said, turning on the TV to watch a game.
Puck frowned a little, shaking his head. "But Quinn was with you, right? Because yesterday we hung out for a few hours but then she said she was getting really tired so I decided to come home. So she was there, right?"
"Um…no, she left right when we got back. She said she was going to Sam's house. But you don't care obviously," Finn shrugged and took a sip of his beer. "I mean it's no strings attached, right?"
Puck nodded a little and when Finn wasn't looking he sighed.
"Hey, Mike just texted me and the whole team is going to his party tonight if you want to check it out?" Finn suggested, looking at his phone.
"I'm not in the mood, I think I'll just hang here and maybe call Quinn and hang out with her for a while." Puck sighed and stood up, walking into his room. He dialed Quinn's number, not wanting to but feeling obligated to talk to her. She didn't answer.
Hey, you've reached Quinn Fabray. I'm sorry I either can't get to the phone or I'm avoiding your call so leave a message and I'll try to call you back when I get the chance.
He waited for the beep and started to leave a message. "Hey Quinn, it's Puck. Can you please call me back? It's really important. Actually can you just come over? I really want to talk to you; maybe around eight or so. Okay bye, see you soon."
Two hours passed and soon there was a knock on his door. "Come in!" He yelled. She walked in to the house and found him standing close to the door. "Hey," He mumbled.
"Hey," She smiled a little. "What's wrong?" Her smile fell when she saw his frown.
"What were you doing at Sam's house?" He asked, deciding to just come out and say it. "And don't say you weren't there."
"Why do you care? We've been through this, we're not dating. I can do whatever I want," She sighed.
"Tell me, Quinn."
"It's none of your business," She said firmly.
"I'm so tired of you doing this to me. One second you're telling me everything about you and the next you're at some other guy's house completely ignoring my texts? I texted you 17 times last night, Quinn."
"I'm…"
"17 times! And not once did you even text me back to say you were busy or you couldn't get to your phone. I couldn't sleep; I thought something might have happened to you, just like Rachel. And it's not fair that you didn't even let me know you were okay," Puck said, raising his voice a little. "That Brody guy came by and I totally beat the crap out of him when he mentioned you. When you didn't text me back, I thought he might have found you."
"Wow, okay, cool down, I didn't do anything wrong," She frowned, looking up at him.
He shook his head, looking at her in the eyes. "I know this isn't serious or whatever but you know how I feel about you and this isn't fair for either of us."
"Slow down, what are you saying?" She sighed.
By this point, his voice was loud, almost yelling, and she was starting to get scared. "I'm saying that I'm sick of you not wanting a relationship and just wanting sex, Quinn. I want to be with you and not just sleep with you. I'm 24 years old! I want a real relationship for once in my life and I want it with you!"
Quinn backed up a little, looking away. "Stop it, please. You're scaring me."
"Don't you have anything else to say to that?" He looked right at her, glaring.
"So what are you gonna do? Just refuse to sleep with me from now on? Because we both know how that ended last time," She shrugged, raising her voice to match his.
"Just leave me alone. I don't want you in my life anymore."
"You don't mean that," She frowned.
"I actually do this time," He said, sounding as serious as he could. "I don't want to keep doing this with you if you don't want to be with me for good."
"I knew you'd do this to me, break my heart," She sniffled a little. "I never should have told you all of that stuff about my past."
"You see, that's where you're wrong, Quinn. I didn't break your heart until after you'd already broken mine." He sighed.
She didn't even have the energy to hold in her tears like she always used to. She burst finally, just stayed standing there as she cried. It was the first time in a long time he had ever truly seen her cry. "Fine, so it's over then? Just like that?"
He nodded because he couldn't find the right words. Before he could even stop her, she was out the door and running to her car.
So I've been imagining this as Quinn and Puck's 'break up' scene for the whole story and I finally found a good place to fit it in. Next chapter will be just flashbacks mostly and pretty much all Quinn for the whole chapter. Thanks for reading, please review or PM :D
