Okay, I'm working on the next chapter, but I needed to compose my thoughts and went back to look it over. There was this one part at the end of Smoker's point of view that bothered me to a great enough extent that I had to fix it. Then it was being mean and I had to fix that but I know what I'm doing now so I'll get the new chapter out hopefully soon. Until then, I'll pout in a corner for not noticing that mess up.
Luffy's POV
I couldn't believe it. There was no way that just happened, right? That was all I could think as I stared at Usopp's phone. I found myself cursing the device, even though it wasn't its fault. All I knew at that time was that I needed someone, something to blame and the phone was the first thing on the list of things that I hated the most in life. It didn't feel real, but I wasn't sure if that was because I was in denial or that Chopper was somehow okay. Either way, there was something that I really needed to know, "Sanji, ask Jimbe for the number."
I got no confirmation that he heard me, but I don't think I would have heard it anyway. My ears were ringing and I had barely heard my own voice. I sounded so weak, and I hated sounding weak. To make matters worse, I could feel tears slowly slipping down my face. Actually, I hadn't noticed I was crying until after a tear fell onto the phone. I frantically rubbed at my eyes, trying desperately to make the stupid liquid go away.
I barely registered the warm arms embracing me as I slowly started to sob. "Chopper," left my mouth, broken and desperate. The arms pulled me closer to a body, more like a bare chest, and I lost it. I cried because it was my fault this was happening. Chopper was targeted because he was my friend. If I had never met him then-
A slap echoed and I barely registered the sting in my cheek until I blinked twice and looked up to see Nami's crying face. She then fell to her knees and pulled me away from the bare chest and said, "It is not your fault. You didn't do this, and everyone here knows you would never do something like that. Have faith in Chopper and kick those bastards' asses for even trying to kill our doctor."
I felt my tears increase for a second before anger took over. My crying stopped and I nodded. "Chopper wouldn't have been done in by something as stupid as that anyway," Zoro said and I knew he was right. Chopper was an awesome reindeer that had eight transformations. He was the only person I would accept as a doctor, and Chopper was the best doctor there was.
I took a deep breath and turned to Sanji who shook his head grimly, "The number was blocked, we have nothing."
"But they can't do that," Usopp stated, eyes shadowed as he looked at the floor. "Who do they think they are?"
"CP9," Marco said as he watched with sympathetic eyes, "that's the enemy you said we were facing."
"It wasn't CP9," I said with barely any emotion. "They're trained assassins; they would never do something so flashy planting a bomb. Besides, Lucci wouldn't do something that doesn't benefit himself or his plan."
Sabo walked up to me and asked, "Luffy, how many enemies do you have?"
I shook my head, "None of them would be stupid enough to do something like that. Besides, the only person I know who would actually use a bomb if Franky and he's with me so he wouldn't do it. Oh, and Buggy but he doesn't have a reason to do anything like that right now."
Ace opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by a phone going off. I glared down to Usopp's phone and found myself wondering if I should destroy it. Pushing past my unjustified hatred for the device, I picked it up and checked the new message. All shall be revealed come morning.
The number was blocked, and all I could do was stare at the thing until it rang showing Robin's number. I answered, "Robin, are you okay?"
It might have come out a little panicked, a point proven when Robin said, "Neither of them hurt me; are the others okay?"
"We're fine here," I said, trying to calm myself as much as possible, "but Chopper was in an explosion."
My voice broke as I said that and I could hear the historian tense, "Chopper will be fine. We've all trained so that you wouldn't have to worry about us."
I couldn't help the small smile that graced my lips, Robin always knew what I needed to hear, all my nakama did, "Will you be able to come here?"
Robin smiled sadly, "Aokiji has to stay with me and I'm sure they won't care for his presence."
I pouted, "Okay, then stay safe. I need to call Brook to make sure he's okay."
"Alright then Sencho-san," she stated calmly, "I'll see you tomorrow."
I nodded and said, "We'll meet up for breakfast," before ending the call and calling Brook.
"Yohohoho," came the familiar laugh along with the soft sound of music in the background, "Is everything alright Usopp-kun?"
"It's me, Brook," I said before saying, "we're fine over here and so is Robin, but someone just tried to kill Chopper."
"Outrageous!"the skeleton exclaimed and the music in the background stopped. "Do we know who it is, when I set my sights upon this person, I will bring down the wrath of the Afterlife upon him. Ah, though I don't have any eyes, yohohoho."
"No, we don't know who did it," I answered with a fond smile. "Though there's someone who might know something. We're meeting up tomorrow for breakfast and we should get some answers then."
"Very well then," Brook said but it was strained, obviously not happy with having to wait, "I shall continue warning as many as possible until the morning."
"Stay safe Brook," I whispered and after a reassuring 'yohohoho' we ended the call. I let my shoulders sag for a moment before straightening and standing up. "What do we know about the others in our generation?"
"They're annoying," Sanji offered with a shrug while Nami spat, "They're assholes," and Usopp suggested, "They're full of themselves," and Franky added, "They're able to go through with their threats."
I stared at them for a second before Zoro said, "They're annoying assholes who are full of themselves and capable of proving they can be, but they're not the type of people who can work together easily."
"But it's not impossible," I said, noting that Zoro didn't completely reject the idea I was forming.
My second-in-command shrugged, "We worked with Law that one time."
I nodded, "What about you guys?"
My father thought for a moment before shaking his head, "You haven't pissed off any of the nobles and anyone else I've fought doesn't know about you."
"There's Teach," Sabo said thoughtfully. "He knew about Luffy and I've heard that dying doctor of his is a fan of explosives."
"Did you have to bring him up, yoi?" Marco asked but judging by the tone of his voice, whoever this Teach person was, he was on everyone's minds.
"No," Ace ground out, "Sabo's right, and he's working on getting on the government's 'good side' according to our Intel."
"And what better way to do that then to find the brat that can put two of the most powerful people of the underworld into their hands," Whitebeard added thoughtfully. "It seems that things are beginning to move, what do you want to do Ace?"
Ace looked at Sabo who nodded before answering with a glare that clearly said 'try and stop me' towards me, "I'll be staying with Luffy and Sabo."
Dragon gave Sabo an inquiring glance before nodding at his second-in-command. I sighed and murmured, "I don't know how Smokey will take this, but I'm kind of excited to see his face since I don't know his number."
Smoker's POV
Watching the infamous Portgas D. Ace and Sabo walk into my apartment with Luffy was not what I expected to happen after the brat's meeting with Whitebeard and Dragon. To make matters worse, they were both glaring with distrust obvious in their eyes. I felt my eye twitch as Luffy happily pranced up to me, saying, "Smokey, Ace and Sabo are staying with us for a while," without a care in the world.
"Mugiwara-" I started to growl but merely groaned in defeat. "I only have the couches you see here beyond my bed."
Ace and Sabo smirked evilly, "Then we'll take the bed and you can sleep on the couch, alone."
I nodded, already expecting that answer. Luffy was a completely different matter altogether, "Eh! But I want to sleep with Smokey!"
Ace walked up to the straw hatted teen, threw his arm around the younger's shoulders, and sighed, "You are forbidden from sleeping with him."
Luffy pouted, "But-"
"No buts Lu," Sabo stated and the topic was dropped, for the moment, because my phone went off and I excused myself to answer it.
Once outside my apartment, I sighed and hit talk, "Yes sir?"
"Have you heard about the explosion that took place earlier this evening in the underground medical district?" came my superior's voice from the other end.
"No," I answered, "was someone injured?"
"Thankfully no," he answered back, "but the target of the attack is believed to be the Straw Hat's doctor. Marshal D. Teach claimed to have set the whole thing up, but that is still under investigation."
I glared at the wall across from my door, "What does Teach have to do with Mugiwara?"
The man on the other end of the line sighed, "He's after the boy."
I sighed, "So there's someone else I need to look out for?"
"Yes," was the immediate reply and I had to wonder what Teach was after that it scared his superiors? "Don't let any of Teach's men near the boy."
"Yes sir," I ended the call and walked back into the apartment, only to stop in the doorway and stare at the half destroyed living room. I walked back out and closed the door before reopening it. The room didn't change and I sighed, eye twitching as I walked in and saw Sabo and Ace wrestling while Luffy sat innocently on the couch and cheered them both on. "What are you doing?"
Luffy turned to me, smiling and laughing like his brothers weren't destroying my home, "They're fighting about…I don't rememberwhat their fighting about."
I decided to stop there, when Luffy forgets why someone is fighting, it means it was something pointless and I was not going to deal with that. If I wanted to be crazy, I would have found a less irritating way then dealing with the three brothers. Instead of figuring out why my apartment was being destroyed, I went into the kitchen to call the Baratie to order dinner. I highly doubted anyone would be able to cook with the Second Division Commander of the Whitebeard Gang and the second in command of the Revolutionary Army fighting about who knew what.
3rd person POV
Zehahaha," a fat man with missing teeth and a black beard and mustache laughed as a sickly looking man walked in with a basket of apples, "I take it the plan was a success?"
"Heh that kid's luck spreads to his crew" the man coughed as he collapsed to the floor, "that little monster was saved by some unforeseen force."
"But we have his attention," the fat one spoke as he sat down and an extremely pale man wearing a pinstripe suit and a top hat walked in twirling a cane.
"We have more than just the brat's attention," the new comer stated. "Lucci came out and spoke a bit about the kid at the meeting. The government plans to protect him as well. He also went to see his father so we can expect those two to get involved as well."
"All this for one little brat who would be nothing if not for his family," the first stated then laughed again, "but I like it when an easy way to get powerful presents itself to me. First with Thatch finding what I had been looking for then the boy running away from his protectors, everything is falling right into place."
The laughing of the man echoed through the hall as the other two people in the room smiled and watched their leader enjoying his own luck. It was only a matter of time before the whole of the underground was in their hands, and all they needed for that to happen was a single boy.

A man with long blond hair and black triangle tattoos for his eyebrows sat at a small, round, wooden table shuffling cards. He placed a few of the cards down on the table but said nothing as the door opened and Eustass Kidd walked in with Killer by his side. The redhead glared at the blond before walking to the other side of the table and sitting down, "Why the hell did you call me here?"
"Mugiwara no Luffy sent you a message," the blond stated, "and I want you to accept the invitation."
Kidd scoffed, "Why the hell would I do that?"
"The blond looked at the redhead like he was an idiot, "I would not have suggested you accept if I did not deem it beneficial to us both. This of course includes Apoo but I don't believe we will get much done with him there as well."
"There does seem to be something stirring and I don't believe it's just the resurfacing of the straw hat group," Killer stated while placing a hand on his superior's shoulder. "Mugiwara might be in the center of it like he usually is so it's best to get the information from where it's centered."
Kidd scowled, "Fine, we'll go to the damn meeting, but what makes you think they'll allow you in?"
"Rest assured," the blond stated as he set down another card, "I will be allowed in."

You seem happy captain," a man wearing a black hat with the word penguin sewn into it said as Law walked into the room.
"It probably has to do with those rumors about Mugiwara being back," a man with red hair, a green news boy cap, and black glasses chuckled and received a death glare from Law in return.
"They aren't rumors," Law stated as he slowly moved his glare over to the large man sitting quietly in the corner, "Jean Bart-ya, what happened at the meeting?"
"Lucci of CP9 informed the government of Mugiwara's connections with a few powerful people," the man answered as he placed a newspaper on the table he was sitting at.
"What sort of people?" Law asked as he opened a fridge and grabbed out a bottle of beer.
The man in the penguin hat sighed and held out his hand, "Blood relations to Garp the Fist and the Revolutionary Dragon. Sworn brother to Hiken no Ace and the Revolutionary Army's second in command Sabo. He's apparently friends with Akagami no Shanks and his group, the empress Boa Hancock, Mihawk is fond of him, Jimbe supports him for unknown reasons, CP9 raised him but their motives are questionable, the Skypia corporation is in his debt, he's friends with the Princess of Alabasta, Big Mom's daughter seems to owe him a debt of gratitude, Cocoyashi Town is fond of him, the mayor of Orange Town claims that he did the town a service.
"He of course has the Baratie behind him, you and him are allies since he refuses to release you from that position, his home town of Fuusha will always support him, there are a few from the giant race that seem to like him. The city of Dressrosa and her mayor are in their debt and the kids from Punk Hazard of course. I'm sure that there are a few more but the main thing is that the kid is practically universal."
Law nodded, "Why did he give out this information so willingly?"
"There was an attack," Jean Bart stated, "against that reindeer doctor of theirs."
"What type of attack?" Law asked in a slight panic and the redhead sighed.
"A bomb," came the answer and Law looked like he was about to deflate before the redhead continued. "But the body wasn't found so they're saying it was a failed attempt."
Law looked thoughtful for a moment before asking, "Do they know who did it?"
"Marshal D. Teach," the black hat man said with a sigh. "It seems that their starting to talk about forming a temporary ceasefire to take him out."
"Teach?" Law asked as he thought about the name. "Isn't that the guy who betrayed Whitebeard?"
Jean Bart nodded, "That's the one. He's been labeled as a threat to both sides and groups are starting to act. Mugiwara's apparently already under the protection of someone from the government, and I doubt his crew and family will leave him alone. However, everyone's on edge because of the reveal."
"I don't blame them," Law muttered as he finished his drink, "is Bepo still in his room?"
"Refused to leave without you," the redhead said as Law walked off.
