I hope you like it.
Barbara sighed in annoyance. Black Canary, Green Arrow, Hawkgirl, Flash, and the young justice League were pestering her about the wedding. Batman came in and saw Batgirl glare at everyone sitting around her. "They are asking her about your wedding." Wonder Woman said coming up to stand next to him. Batman walked over to the table with Wonder Woman right behind him.
"Oh and here comes the groom." Flash said when he noticed Batman coming towards them. "No, it's here comes the Bride." Hawkgirl corrected him. Flash gulped and stood up and stepped away from the table and sped off. "What's wrong with him?" Green Arrow asked. "Why do I feel like there is someone one glaring at me?" Hawkgirl asked. Everyone turned around and looked up to see Batman glaring at them.
"I think it might be best that we go and eat at another table." Black Canary said and she picked up her tray and left with Green Arrow following her. Hawkgirl flew out of the cafeteria and the Young Justice League ran out.
Batgirl grinned at him. "I think I need to work on my Batglare." She said. "Come, there are some things we need to talk about." Batman said and he took her hand and led her in to the meeting room.
"Okay, before the Justice League gets here, we need to discuss our wedding… We can-" Batman started to say but she interrupted him. "Let's elope." She whispered. He barely heard her. "What?" He asked to make sure that he heard her.
"Let's elope. My dad has been on my tail ever since we told him about our engagement. Dick has been on my tail. And the Justice League and the Young Justice League. And soon Gotham City will know. I don't want the media on our tail either…" Batgirl said.
"Who should come as witnesses?" Batman asked wrapping his arms around her. "Alfred and the children of course. Clark and Diana and J'onn and John…" Batgirl replied. "How long have you been planning this?" Batman asked, giving her a rare grin.
"I thought of it just now." She grinned back. Just then there was a cough near the door. "Are we interrupting anything?" Superman asked. "No." Batman said letting go of Batgirl. Superman raised an eyebrow and Batman said, "I will tell you later." In a whisper so only Superman could hear.
"Now Batgirl. The League has spoken to Batman about this and we think that you are ready…" Wonder Woman started. "Ready for what?" Batgirl asked. "To be Batwoman." Batman answered. "No offence to the League but shouldn't this be the Bat family's business and not the League's?" Batgirl said.
"That is true, but Kal overheard Batman and Alfred talking and told us and we all wanted to be here to tell you." Wonder Woman replied. Batman left and a minute later came back with a Batwoman suit. It was black and silver and it had a long cape that reached the ankles and it was light but it was strong. "It looks like one of the designs from my sketch book…" Batgirl mumbled. "It is. I sneaked a peak over your shoulder while you were drawing it." Batman said.
"Go on get changed." Flash said with a grin. Batgirl took the uniform and went to get changed. She came back in the new suit. "Welcome Batwoman. You are no longer my sidekick but my partner." Batman said.
Hours later Batman asked, Clark, Diana, J'onn and John to meet in the Batcave Alfred and Damian were already there waiting for them to arrive. "What is it?" J'onn asked when everyone arrived. "Barbara and I are eloping…" Bruce said when he took of the mask. Everyone gasped in shock, except J'onn whose eyes widened in shock.
"Barbara and I have decided to elope. A lot of people are pestering us about the wedding. And we don't want the media to be there. We just want to get married. It would save a lot of time and energy." Barbara said. Clark and Diana nodded, "we can understand that." Clark said. "But what about the party?" John asked. "We haven't thought that far." Bruce replied.
"I'm in." Damian said, raising a hand. Bruce smiled and winked at him. "When is it and where?" J'onn asked. Barbara and Bruce looked at each other and nodded at other and Bruce said, "In three days."
Bruce asked a priest to come and do the ceremony. James Gordon wasn't happy about it but Barbara changed that by saying, "You can still walk me down the aisle." And that is all he wanted. Alfred prepared some food for later and then he went help Bruce get ready.
Barbara and Diana chose a white dress, not a wedding dress, but the dress that she wore to a ball that the GCPD was holding and Bruce said to her the other night when that he was quiet turned on by the dress. Barbara had just gotten dressed when her father knocked.
"Come in, dad." Barbara knew that it was her father because he did the secret knock they came up with when she was a little girl. James came in and smiled with pride when he saw her standing there. "You look beautiful, honey." He said and hugged her.
"I still need something old." Barbara said looking around and spotted her mother's broach that was handed down to daughter to daughter, it is over eighty years old. "Now something borrowed." She whispered. "Here." Diana gave Barbara her star earrings. Barbara smiled at her, "Thank you. Now something blue…" James went in to his room and then came back in to his daughter's room with a blue handkerchief. "It was your mothers."
"Something new…" James said looking around as Barbara tucked the hankie in her sleeve. "Oh, Bruce gave me that." Barbara patted her stomach. "You mean your-?" James couldn't finish the question. "Yep. I'm pregnant again." Barbara replied with a smile and James lifted his daughter and swirled her around. And then he placed her back on to the ground Diana hugged her and said, "Congratulations. Have you told him yet?"
"No, I just found out myself." Barbara replied. "When are you going to tell him?" James asked. "I already know." Bruce said from the door way with Alfred and Clark who had Martha in his arms. "Hey, it's bad luck to see the bride." James protested. "We better hurry, Vicki Vale has gotten word that the wedding is today, and I don't know who told her." Bruce explained. Barbara frowned in thought. "Alfred, can you go and get Eli please?" "Of course." Alfred went to get Eli and came back with a giggling baby. "What's he giggling about?" James asked with a smile. "He's has been like that all morning." Alfred replied as he handed Eli over to his mother.
Barbara placed Eli in James's arms as she lightly patted Eli down which made squeal in even louder in delight. "Has he had a change of clothes?" Barbara asked Alfred and Bruce. "I changed him when he spat his milk out all over himself." Alfred replied. "Has his clothes been washed?" They are drying right now." Alfred replied. "Good. I think Vicki Vale bugged Eli… I was in the park with Eli yesterday and Vick came up to us and patted Eli and told me that he is going to look like his father when he grows up. And then she left. Damn it, I can be stupid." Barbara explained. Then she grinned. "I need Flash. I have an idea." Barbara said. Clark pressed the bug in his ear and said, "Flash, get to the Wayne Manor now."
It only took Flash a minute to get there. "What is it Sups?" Flash asked as he winked at Barbara. "A reporter named Vicki Vale has found out about the wedding." Clark replied. "I didn't tell her." Flash defended himself. "We know you didn't, she bugged Eli and overheard us. We need you to find her and tell her something that will divert her for a while." Barbara said. "Can I come back for the wedding?" Flash asked. "Fine." Bruce said with a sigh. "Cool." Flash said and he was off.
"Who was that?" James asked. "The Flash. He calls himself the Speedster." Barbara answered her father's question. "He's part of the League but he acts like a kid most of the time." Bruce added. "Let's go." Clark shooed Bruce out of the room and in to the back yard. Bruce was waiting for Barbara when Wally came speeding down the aisle. "Done, I told her that the wedding is being postponed. She went back to her office I made sure that she was sitting at her desk." Wally whispered in his ear. "Good job, get changed and have a seat." Bruce replied and Wally done it in not time flat. Bruce watched as Barbara walked towards him with her father walking alongside her. The music stopped playing and everyone sat back down when Barbara reached him.
The wedding went off without a hit. Around midnight everyone went home so the newlyweds could be alone. Clark and Diana took Eli and Damian with them for the night. Bruce carried Barbara all the way to their bedroom "You are finally mine." Bruce whispered against her mouth as he closed the door behind him and carried her to the bed, he laid her down gently on the bed and.
They stayed in bed all day and got up when Diana dropped the boys off. Barbara was walking along the streets with Damian and Eli was in the pram when a voice called out. "Miss Gordon, how are you?" Barbara turned around and sighed. "I'm fine why do you ask?" Barbara replied. "Well because your wedding was postponed. Did he postpone the wedding? Did he realise that he likes the single life?" Barbara rolled her eyes at her. "I know you bugged my son. And Bruce and I are not happy about that and neither is my father. You bugged a baby to get information in our private lives. And thanks to your little stunt we are not going to you for interviews any longer. We would have come to you when things have settled down but you had to do something like planting a bug on an innocent baby. Actually Bruce and I and my father are beyond angry, we are furious. And if you right one more thing about our personal lives one more time we will sew you for every penny you've got.
"Oh and another thing… That red head kid who told you about the wedding being postponed was a lie. That kid is a friend of mine and Bruce's and I asked him to tell you a fib to divert you for a while. Bruce and I are married. We didn't want reporters at the wedding. Now stay away from me and my family." Barbara snapped the last part out and stalked off. Damian grinned triumphantly at Vicki over his shoulder. Vicki stood there in complete shock.
"Father, you should have seen Barb, she gave Vicki a piece of her mind." Damian said as he walked in to his father's office. Bruce grinned and ruffled Damian's hair and Barbara walked in. "I wanted to punch her from here to Kingdom Come." She growled. "You did good, baby. How about dinner, you, me Damian and Eli. As a family." Bruce said as he wrapped his arms around her. "Sounds good." Barbara replied in return.
That night they got out of the car and were about to go in to the restaurant when Vicki came in to view. She was about to say something but Bruce's glare made her slam her mouth shut. "Stay away. You invaded my family's privacy. You had absolutely no right to do that. Stay away." Bruce growled at her. "No, I came to apologise. I was way out of line, I know that. I just got a phone call from your butler and he gave me an earful. I'm deeply sorry about bugging Eli." Vicki sounded upset. "And one more thing… Congratulations on our marriage, I wish you nothing but happiness." She added. She sounded sincere. "We have photos of our wedding. We actually have three copies of the photos. You can show them. And we can tell you what happened and who was there." Bruce said after having a silent conversation with Barbara. "Really?" Vicki perked up. "Shall we meet in two weeks from today, in the afternoon in your office?" Bruce asked. "How's one o'clock sound?" "See you then." Bruce said and led his family in to the restaurant.
Two weeks later, at one o'clock Bruce and Barbara walked in to the office of Vicki Vale and they gave her the interview she wanted. That night Bruce, Barbara, Damian and Alfred were watching the news. "I'm Vicki Vale and I got a one on one with the Prince of Gotham, Billionaire Bruce Wayne and his new wife Barbara Gordon, daughter of Commissioner James Gordon. Mr and Mrs Wayne came in to the office to have an interview. Here is the interview…
"Thank you both for coming. Now is it true that you two got married two days ago?" Vicki asked. "Yes, we did. We wanted it to be private and personal. We only had Barb's father, five good friends of ours and Alfred and the boys of course." Bruce replied.
"Why, try and keep it a secret?" Vicki asked.
"We wanted to keep it low key. I mean Bruce can't do anything in public without the media on his back all the time." Barbara replied.
"We have some other news…" Bruce added.
"And what is that may I ask?" Vicki sat up straighter.
"Barbara is pregnant. Nearly three months…" Bruce said with a proud smile.
"Oh my, congratulation. Boy or a girl?" Vicki squealed in delight.
Bruce smiled and said "It's a girl."
"Congratulations again."
"Thank you."
"Now, before we go, you have some photos of the wedding. We'll show them just before we go to an add break."
Just then, they were called to the Watch Tower. Everyone including the Young Justice who was being led by Nightwing. "What is it J'onn?" Batman asked. "Watch the screen." J'onn replied and pressed the button to play the footage. People were running away from something. And minute later something ran after the people. It looked like a velociraptor. Batwoman frowned. "Is Steven Spielberg making another Jurassic Park movie?" She asked. Nightwing chuckled.
"No, these dinos can speak." Superman said and he turned up the volume. "Come back here." And "I'm hungry" could be heard over the speakers. "Knowing raptors, they use to live in packs." Batwoman said. "They have appeared in all corners of the planet. New York, London, Los Angeles, Sydney Australia and Gotham City." J'onn said. "Where did they come from?" Flash asked. "Let's go and find out. Batman, Nightwing, Batwoman and Robin went to Gotham, while Superboy, Supergirl and Miss Martian went to New York. J'onn and Flash went to Australia, Superman and Wonder Woman went to London. The others stayed in the Watch Tower just in case anyone might need back up.
Batman and Robin went south and Batwoman and Nightwing went north. Batwoman spotted three raptor. She glided ahead of them and landed on her feet in front of them. She had the look of a predator. One Raptor got ready to strike and it jumped at her But Barbara tucked and rolled out of the way. As she was rolling she took out her Grabble hook and fired it at the raptor's legs. It fell to the ground with a thud. Batwoman saw that Nightwing had another raptor under control. And then she spotted the third one running away. Batwoman ran after it. She found it hanging by its legs. Batwoman looked up to see Batman standing on the roof. Damn, he's hot. Batwoman thought. And then he leapt on to the ground and pulled her up against him and kissed her hard. "Remember you are carrying my daughter." He said. "I'll go back to the Tower. Now that we're done." She replied and then, "J'onn." She said in to the ear piece and she was teleported back to the Tower where Superman was interrogating one of the raptors.
"Why are you here?" He asked. "I'm hungry." The raptor replied trying to break through its metal bounds to try and rip the Man of steel apart. "Trust me I'm too tough." Superman replied. "Where did you come from?" Wonder Woman than asked. "We came from another galaxy, our planet has run out of food and we came to look for more." The raptor replied. "You can't eat humans. Humans rule this planet." Batwoman replied. Just then Batman came in and asked, "Are the more of you?" "There are only ones left. The twelve of us." The raptor replied. "Everyone, bring the Raptors to the Watch Towers. Robin, don't hurt them." Batman added the last part.
Robin came back, laughing, he was racing a baby raptor. "Son." The adult raptor struggled again. "If we let you out of your bindings do you promise not to hurt us?" Superman asked. The raptor nodded, "You have my word." He said and Superman took off the metal pole and the raptor raced over to his son.
Soon the two raptor families were reunited. And they went back to their planet with some cattle. Batman told them that they can breed the cattle and eat them. The baby raptor roared and its father explained that his son doesn't know how to speak yet and that his son said good bye to Robin who grinned and waved.
The baby raptor's mother looked at Batwoman who had an arm around Robin, said, "You have a clever son there." "Step-son." Barbara replied. "But you love him like he's your own." The mother raptor said and then they were gone. Batman turned to Batwoman and Robin and said, "Let's go home."
"No you can't. We have to party." Supergirl replied.
And they did. But three hours in to the party, there was a stress all. Batwoman stayed behind for Batman's sake. It turns out to be Lex Luther, trying to kill Superman. But The Justice League stopped him without damaging Superman's image.
Nine months later Maggie Elaine Wayne was born. Maggie has an over protective brother and a protective father. Barbara took a couple of months off being Batwoman to look after Maggie before she went back out there as Batwoman. One day the family was in the cave doing research on the new Mayor of Gotham. Barbara was with Damian helping him do his homework when Barbara's mobile went off. "Hi dad, how are you?" "Yes, I'm fine, Damian, Eli and Maggie are well and safe. Bruce is… Keeping himself busy." "Yes dad, Bruce and Maggie are bonding…" Barbara put it on speaker phone so Bruce could hear. "Is he in the Batcave at the computer?" James asked. "Dad, he never turns Batman off." Barbara replied. "He is a good father, dad, just like you. He's just a workaholic." Barbara added and James laughed. "I wouldn't be able to be a dad, run a company, go to charity events and be Batman at night time." James said with a sigh. The comment made Bruce smile. "Dad, it's a bit hard on him to sometimes. He just won't admit it." Barbara said glaring at Bruce who tried to look innocent. "Do you want to speak to Eli?" Barbara changed the subject. "Yes, please." James replied and Barbara put the phone near Eli's ear and James said, "Hey, big guy." A big grin appeared on Eli's face when he heard his grandfather's voice.
Just then a beep went off. Bruce, Barbara and Damian stared at the device that made the sound. "Dad, we have to go, the Justice League is calling." Barbara said when she brought the phone back to her ear. "You and Bruce be careful." James replied. "We always are." Barbara replied and hung up. Alfred took Maggie and Eli upstairs while Damian changed in to Robin, Barbara changed in to Batwoman and Bruce changed in to Batman.
"What is it J'onn?" Batman asked. "There is a boy in the hospital wing, his parents were murdered. He is only eight years old… I thought that you might want to handle this. He is from Gotham, but he and his family were on holiday in New York. He asked for you personally." J'onn replied. "What else has he said?" Batwoman asked. "Just Batman." J'onn replied. "I'll go in alone…" Batman said. "Will you be okay?" Batwoman asked. "Yes, I'll be fine. Call your father and tell him what happened."
"Where is Superman and Wonder Woman?" Robin asked. "They are searching for the killer, along with the rest of the League." J'onn replied. Batman nodded and went in to the hospital wing. And with the boy was Black Canary. "I'll take it from here." Batman said from the doorway. Black Canary nodded and left. The boy was in the corner of the room, his knees to his chest and his head resting in his knees. Batman sank to his knees and pulled the boy in to his arms. "They're gone. Mum and dad are gone." The boy whispered. "What is your name?" Batman asked. "J-J-Jason T-T-Todd." The Boy replied. "Come on, let's get you out of here…" Batman picked Jason up and carried him back to Batwoman and Robin. "Batgirl?" Jason asked when he saw Batwoman. "It's Batwoman now." Batwoman corrected him as she gently whipped a tear off his cheek. "You'll be okay."
J'onn teleported them to the roof of GCPD where James was waiting. "Superman, come to GCPD when you and Wonder Woman have found the killer or a lead." Batman said in to the ear piece. "Got it." Superman replied. "Jason, this is James Gordon, you might know him…" Batman said to the boy who nodded in reply. "Commissioner James Gordon." Jason whispered. "You can call me Jim." James 'Jim' said with a smile. "Are you up to asking some questions?" James asked and Jason shook his head. "Alright, when you're ready. Here's my card, you can call me anytime you want, call me if you need anything." James gave Jason his card and then turned to Batman. "Where should I take him?" He asked the Dark knight. "Bruce Wayne." Batman said. James turned to Batwoman who nodded.
Just then Superman appeared and Jason gasped and hid behind Batman. "What have you found out?" Batman asked Superman. James couldn't believe it… Superman was standing right in front of him… "I got word that he is heading back here to Gotham. Wonder Woman is searching the skies as we speak." Superman replied. "I can go back and help her look for him…" Superman added. "When you find him tell me and keep your officers out of my way. This is personal. That goes for everyone." Batman growled and left. Batman and Robin followed him.
When they got back to the cave they got out of their armour and went in to the manor and told Alfred about Jason. "The poor boy… Have they found the killer?" Alfred asked. "No, but I will. He is heading back to Gotham. I only came back to greet Jason…" Bruce replied. "My father is bringing him over." Barbara replied. "How is Eli and Maggie?" Bruce asked. "They are a safe and asleep." Alfred replied. Bruce nodded and went to see Eli. Barbara smiled sadly to Alfred and went to check on Maggie.
Bruce gently picked Eli up and hugged him tightly. Eli woke up and realised that someone was hugging him and it was his father and he went back to sleep. Bruce just stood there and hugged his son until Alfred came in. "I'm sorry to interrupt you sir, but Commissioner Gordon is here with the young boy. Master Bruce… He is only eight years old…" Alfred said in a quiet voice. "I know, that's why it's personal." Bruce replied as he gently put Eli back to bed.
Barbara met him in the hallway with Maggie in her arms. "Damian, can you take Maggie in to Eli's room? We'll be there in a bit…" Barbara said to Damian as she gently placed Maggie in to Damian's open arms. With Maggie in his arms, Damian walked in to Eli's room. Bruce and Barbara walked down to the entrance where James was waiting for them. "Hi dad." Barbara said, giving him a hug. "Hi baby girl." James returned the hug. Bruce knelt down said, "my name is Bruce, and my parents were murdered as well. You are welcome to stay here with me and my wife and children. That is if you want to…" Bruce said in a gentle voice. Jason looked at him for a moment and then jumped in to his arms and cried until he fell asleep.
That night
One year later…
It was Eli's second birthday. And the Justice League is celebrating at the Wayne Manor, the Justice League was there too in disguise. James hogged Maggie. Barbara's friends were there too. Jason sat close to Barbara. He was just coming out of his shell but he was still nervous around people…
Bruce watched Eli run around with the friends he made when he went to the park with his mother and smiled. Clark, Diana, Wally, Barry, John, J'onn who was in disguise and the rest of the League came over to Bruce and sat down. "Well done, Wayne." Clark said. "I'm sorry?" "A beautiful wife and four wonderful children." Clark replied. Bruce smiled at his best friend and thought, I am Lucky. "You did well as well." Bruce said nodding his head at Diana who was running with the children.
That night when everyone went home, Barbara put the children, including Martha who is staying the night, to bed while Bruce (who changed in to Batman and the Justice League talked in the cave. Just then Green Arrow's face appeared on the screen as Barbara came in to the cave. "Got a call from Aquaman, he needs help." Green Arrow explained. "We are on our way." Batman replied and he stood up. He gave Barbara a kiss and jumped in to his jet.
Superman ran out of the cave and lifted up in to the air, ripping his shirt apart to reveal the 'S' on his Superman suit. He then tucked his glasses away. The League followed him out of the cave.
Barbara looked up at Alfred who smiled warmly at her and he said, "Long live the Bat." Barbara smiled and said, "Long live the Justice League."
The people of Gotham saw the Justice League run in towards the pier and Green Lantern formed a green bubble around them and they dived in to the water. "Who were they mummy?" A little girl asked her mother. "That was Batman and the Justice League." The mother smiled down at her daughter. "Who?" The girl asked again. "They help protect us from bad people."
"They are heroes." The mother added with a smile. Superman smiled as he heard what the mother said.
Later when the situation under the sea was dealt with (someone took Aquaman's son and wife) they went back to the Tower. The news from every station from around the world was playing on the big screen. A reporter said, "Is the Justice League a heroes or just plain annoying…" Wonder Woman turned it off. "Do you think that we make any difference at all?" Green Lantern asked.
Superman remembered the mother and daughter from before and smiled, "I think we do." He said. "Come on let's celebrate for a victory." Wally said. "Let's go and get something to eat in New York." Wally added. "Good idea." John agreed. Batman turned around. "Where are you going?" Diana asked. "Home to my family." Batman replied and everyone just stared at him. You're welcome to come. There is still plenty of food from Eli's party…" Batman said and left. The League rushed after him.
They teleported back to the cave and went in to the Manor where Alfred poured the drinks and brought out the food to the balcony. Barbara lifted her glass and said, "To family and friends. And the Justice League and the Young Justice." Bruce smiled and everyone repeated what she said. Bruce leaned over and kissed her before turning to face the League. The laughter soon ended when they got the Batsignal flew in to the air. Bruce sighed and he stood up and said to the League. "Let's go."
"You're going to let us help you?" John asked in shock. "Since you're here…" Bruce replied and went to the cave and returned as Batman. Eli managed to escape his crib and was walking down the stairs to the cave "Daddy." He said when he saw his father. Batman sighed and picked him up. "What are you doing out of bed little man?" Batman asked his youngest son as he walked in to Eli's room and placed him back in his crib.
Batman caught up with the League. "It is still weird to see Batman as a father." Flash joked and he earned glare from Batman. The Justice League raced in to the bank that was being robbed and kicked the robber's butt. "Damn, you didn't tell me that the whole Justice League was going to be here. You said that we only had to deal with the Bat." One robber said. "I didn't know they were here…" Another robber replied and the he made a bolt for the door but he was stopped by Flash.
"Batman could handle all six of you crooks." Superman said. After Commissioner Gordon came and took the robbers away the League flew off to stop more crime.
"You know what boss… I hope that the Justice League stays together forever." One officer said to Gordon who nodded and replied. "Me too, Sargent, me too."
The very last chapter. Stay tuned for my new Batman fic.
