Here's the second half!
Clean
When we got back to the Palace Steve asked me and Danny to look into the history of Carl Joiner together. Neither of us looked to thrilled to be forced to work together so soon, but Steve just waved a hand and walked into his office before we could argue. I sighed, pulling my hair loose before walking into my office for my laptop. This is not going to work. I can't work with him like this... he is furious at me and I'm so damn guilt ridden... no this is just a bad, bad idea. When I walked back out Danny was lent on the smart table hitting some keys. His shoulders were hunched over, his whole body language was screaming frustration and annoyance. I walked over to the table and held my breath as I waited to see what Danny was looking into. After a few moments of silence I cleared my throat and looked at my laptop.
"Where are you starting?" I asked softly as my laptop loaded up.
"Financials seems the logical angle." Danny replied his eyes locked on the screen in front of him.
"Where do you want me to start?" I asked again, watching as he did his best not to look up at me.
"Maybe you should look into the bank records while I look into his business." Danny replied still focusing everything on the smart table in front of him. I let out small sigh before pulling my laptop in front of me and hitting a few keys. We worked for about twenty minutes in silence both of us looking up any information that might have been useful. The silence was deafening me, I could feel the heavy tension between us and it was killing me. I hated the silence, I hated the fact Danny wasn't laughing and joking with me. I knew I had upset him, but I didn't know how to make it right.
"I froze because of the blood on my hands." I admitted just above a whisper. "In my nightmares my hands get covered in Steve's blood. Anton always shoots him in the chest and as his body falls to the floor I tried to catch him. I always press on the wound and the blood always pours over my hands, soaking everything. The blood soaks everything..." I let out a small sigh as I fought to keep myself from focusing on the dream. "Today is the first time they've been covered in someone's blood like that since I returned to active duty." I continued talking. I could feel Danny's eyes on me but I focused on the screen in front of me. "I never realised how much of a hold it could have on me. I kinda knew I was messed up, but after cutting my hand I thought I had a handle on it. I guess I was wrong." I paused biting my lip as I thought about what had happened that morning. "I honestly didn't think today. A man was a shot, I wanted to save him. It was that simple in my mind. I never registered the fact I could be shot. I just saw a chance to keep a man alive. I had to take it, I had to try at least." I continued and let out a shaky breath. "I guess, what I'm trying to say is sorry. I don't think I can explain myself any better." I felt Danny's eyes leave me as he started to hit keys again on the smart table. The silence between us continued for another ten minutes. I didn't try and look up at Danny I just continued to work. I really didn't know if he was going to speak, I just needed him to hear me. I felt a little better getting my side off my chest.
"I was terrified you were going to die." Danny admitted as it was my turn to look up and watch him as he spoke. His focus was on the smart table as he spoke so softly. "I heard the bullet and all I could think about was if you were safe. My mind went blank. It goes against everything I've been trained to do. But if you had been shot today, I don't think I could have forgiven myself. When I saw you over Joiner, I couldn't help the fear that built in me. I thought you were going to die. I couldn't imagine loosing you Nik, not you."
"Danny..." I breathed out his name as he looked up and met my eyes. That same fear that had flashed through them at the house was shining back at me. I caught my breath in my throat realising just how much he really cared about me. The fear slipped out of his eyes and a new emotion replaced it. My heart started to race as he opened his mouth to speak again.
"Nik I've been wanting to say this for a while now, I just, just didn't know how to-" Danny started to say something when Steve walked out of his office and glanced at the pair of us.
"So what have you guys got?" He asked clapping his hands together as he walked over to us. I turned back to Danny and he was looking at the smart table. He was acting as if he hadn't just said anything to me. I blinked slowly looking from Danny to Steve and back again.
"Well Joiner was definitely dirty," Danny started as he looked back up and started talking about the case. I could have kicked Steve for choosing that moment to walk out and talk to the pair of us. I desperately wanted to know what Danny was going to say. "On paper Carl Joiner owned a bunch of dry cleaning store on Honolulu; perfectly respectable way to maintain his champaign and caviar lifestyle." Danny explained waving his arms as he spoke.
"Let me guess, they're all fronts?" Steve asked as I just stood there listening.
"Yes, all the payroll employees where bogus names and social security numbers except for Joiner himself. The stores, they brought in a decent amount of dough, but nothing compared to the actual revenue that was on the books." Danny explained waving his hands around a little. "This guy was definitely in the cleaning business, but he wasn't cleaning clothes he was laundering money."
"So ok, alright what went wrong?" Steve asked folding his arms over his chest as he looked at the pair of us.
"Well," I said getting Steve's attention as I hit a few keys and brought up Carl Joiner's bank account. "A couple of days ago someone took all the money out of the account. I'm thinking maybe Carl got a little greedy?" I shrugged a little glancing at Danny who nodded in agreement.
"So any leads on who he was working for?" Steve asked looking at all the information we brought up.
"Not yet." I sighed leaning on the table.
"But whoever it is wants their money back." Danny added seriously.
"Yeah I think they do, they've just killed Carl Joiner, now they think his wife has it. We gotta find her." Steve explained firmly.

While we were looking into a way of tracking Trisha Joiner Lori and Chin called. A armed gunman came to her rented motel room with a gun looking for her. The pair had tried to stop him but he had out run them. Lori had managed to shoot him, but the guy got to a getaway car in time. Chin explained that Kono was driving the car. Steve pulled Chin straight into his office as me, Lori and Danny stood outside.
"Steve, you need to take it easy." I pleaded as Steve walked over to us. He was fuming, it was easy to see.
"Kono is a getaway driver for someone who just killed Carl Joiner. Chin should have known. He should have told us." Steve grunted as he looked down at me.
"She's pushed everyone away Steve, you can't blame Chin for not being able to keep tabs on his cousin." Danny pointed out as he folded his arms over his chest.
"We need to know what Chin knows. Wait here." Steve grunted as he stormed back into his office.
"Chin was silent on the ride back. I think he's blaming himself for what Kono's got herself into." Lori explained as we all lent on the smart table and watched Steve chew Chin out. The tension was easy to see all the way out in the hall. You could see the guilt in Chin with the way he hunched over in his seat. Steve wasn't helping with the way his body language screamed anger. I felt so bad for Chin and couldn't help but wonder what the hell Kono had got herself into.
"Who is Ray Mapes?!" Steve yelled loud enough for all of us to hear. By the way the Lori and Danny looked they didn't know who he was either. We watched as he talked to Chin a little more before stalking out of his office. Steve glanced at Chin before looking back towards us. "Get a lock on Kono's cell, we're bringing her in." Steve ordered to us as he stormed off. Danny glanced to me and Lori before chasing after Steve. I nodded to Lori to fallow me into my office.
"We need to find her fast, I don't know what she's into but we've gotta help her." I sighed as Lori looked at me worried.
"You didn't see that thug, she's got herself in something deep here Nik. I'm not sure how much the 5-0 can do to help her." Lori sighed looking worried.
5-0~5-0~5-0~5-0~5-0
We geared up and split up. I jumped in with Danny as Lori and Steve headed out in his truck. The tension between everyone was so clear. We were all worried about Kono and what she had gotten herself into. I hadn't known Kono as long as Chin, Steve and Danny but she had quickly become a good friend to me. Knowing that she had got herself mixed up with some very seedy characters, it worried me, made me wonder how low she's gotten.
"Whatever she's mixed up in, we'll help her." Danny spoke me making me turn to him surprised.
"What if we can't help?" I asked honestly as Danny glanced.
"We do what we have to. She's family, we're going to do anything within our power." Danny answered as he glanced back to the road.
"I just hope she hasn't done something we can't bring her back from." I admitted as Danny waved through the traffic.
"Me too." He echoed as we spotted the car Kono was driving. Danny flicker on the lights and sirens as we chased the car down the motorway. Kono took sped up and took a sharp right. We fallowed her the whole time I was praying that this was some kind of massive mistake. We chased her down a quiet road where Steve pulled his truck out of nowhere cutting her off. Steve and Lori jumped out in front of Kono, as me and Danny climbed out from behind. Everyone had their guns drawn as we saw Kono just sat there looking defeated. Steve moved to stand in front of the car, his eyes locked on her.
"Get out of the car Kono!" Steve ordered as we all just stood with our guns drawn. I couldn't help but notice the dead body in the passenger seat. My stomach rolled as I glanced from the body back to Kono. What have you done? Kono raised her hands as she looked so lost. "Hands where I can see them!" Steve barked with a hard glare aimed purely at her. She got out of the car and I noticed the blood on her hand. Kono stood with her back to us and her hands on the top of the car. "Nik." Steve ordered as I moved forward. I tucked my gun away and pulled out my cuffs as I took Kono's wrists and cuffed her.
"Is that your blood?" I asked softly, making sure they were tight enough that she couldn't break free.
"No." Was all she said as I took her and put her in the back of Steve's truck.
5-0~5-0~5-0~5-0~5-0
Danny me and Lori were stood around the office. Lori was looking into the rental history of the car, while me and Danny looked into the dead guy's history. None of us really talked as we were all trying to wrap our heads around what the hell Kono had gotten herself into. I wasn't sure I could even begin to imagine being that low. I was lent on the side of the smart table reading through a file when my phone buzzed in my pocket. I pulled it out and saw Bradley's number. I noticed Danny and Lori glance at me as I pulled the phone out.
"Logan." I answered the phone walking into my office.
"Hey so I was wondering... you free tonight to continue our little sparring match?" Bradley asked with a flirty tone to his voice. I smirked and shook my head, the guy was persistent if nothing else.
"I would like nothing more than kick your arse again, but things here have gotten real complicated, real fast." I answered loosing my smirk as I ran a hand through my hair.
"That sucks." Bradley sighed down the phone. "Hey, if you just need a beer after it all blows over, call me Nik." He added as the smile returned to my lips.
"What happened to you trying to get into my pants?" I asked with a soft chuckle.
"There's still plenty of time for that, but right now I just want to make sure you're ok. This case sounds pretty heavy." Bradley answered honestly. I nodded a little pushing my hair off my face. It was nice that he wasn't totally like my usual type of Marine. It was nice that Bradley was willing to be there just as friend for me.
"Thanks Bradley." I replied honestly.
"I know you'd do the same for me Nik." He said as I just smiled. "Now, get back to work and kick it in the ass!"
"Yes sir!" I joked as the pair of us chuckled. I hung up and walked out of my office when I caught Captain Fryer outside the 5-0 doors. I walked through the door and caught him slightly by surprise.
"Logan." Fryer answered with a quick nod as he tried to look past me for something.
"Bit far from I.A, aren't you?" I asked folding my arms over my chest.
"That's none of your business." Fryer grunted at me. "I hear you've taken Kono Kalakaua into custody."
"So?" I asked tilting my head to one side. My stomach rolled as I thought I.A was going to take Kono and interview her to see if she had spilled any confidential information.
"I want to see her." Fryer barked as he put his hands on his hips.
"Tough. She's under 5-0." I smirked as Fryer let out a small grunt.
"Where are you keeping her? The cells?" Fryer asked as he started to head down to the cells.
"Hey! You can't just go storming in wherever the hell you want!" I cried out as I fallowed him down to the cells. He didn't even wait for me to catch up to him. He stormed down into the cells and we could hear Chin's voice coming from one of the rooms. Fryer charged off ahead of me and waltzed into the room.
"Hey! Captain Fryer what the hell you doing here?" Steve asked with his arms wide out. I nearly walked into Fryer as I fallowed him into the room.
"Sorry." I sighed as Steve took a glance at me before returning his attention to Fryer.
"You're done here McGarrett. Kono get up." Fryer dismissively to Steve as he walked into the room. Kono got up from her seat almost as she had been expecting him to show.
"No! Hey, HEY! She's in custody!" Steve barked as we all walked over to Kono.
"She's mine." Fryer replied shaking his head a little.
"What are you talking about she's yours, this has nothing to do with I.A." Steve pointed out as we all looked from Kono to Fryer.
"Wrong again, she's working for me." Fryer answered smugly.
5-0~5-0~5-0~5-0~5-0
I took the handcuffs off Kono before fallowing Steve and Fryer out of the room. I lent in the doorway as Steve looked fit to burst. Fryer walked past me as the pair turned to face each other.
"You think that you can just come in here and mess with my team like this?" Steve asked pointing to the door. Behind me I could hear Chin and Kono talking to each other, but I was more interested in what Fryer was going to say.
"Hey," Fryer laughed. "Don't flatter yourself McGarrett this has nothing to do with you." Fryer replied sarcastically.
"You're interfering in a murder investigation Captain." I spoked up pushing myself off the side of the door and walked up to the side of Steve. Fryer looked from me to Steve with that damn smug expression on his face.
"My investigation, includes your murder investigation ok?" Fryer barked putting his hands on his hips.
"What are you talking about?" Steve asked softly as he shook his head in disbelief.
"I.A have been running an undercover op on a ring of dirty ex cops. They shake down drug dealers, arm dealers, human traffickers all over the island. They dropped dozes of bodies, including Brian Scartellie's your dead volley ball coach." Fryer explained to the pair of us.
"And Carl Joiner. That's who he meant was after his wife." I added shaking my head a little as the dots connected in my mind.
"That's who he was laundering money for huh?" Steve added as Fryer just nodded. "Why would you not loop us in on it?" Steve asked scoffing a little and I could see how badly Fryer was rubbing him up the wrong way.
"I couldn't risk it, you understand that. These guys still have contacts inside HPD. I've been circling Delano's organisation for three years. Now Kono was just making in roads, she is as close as we've ever gotten. We had something on this guy Dwight Murphy, could have maybe levered that to make him flip on Delano, but thanks to you guys, Dwight Murphy is in the morgue curtsey of a 5-0 bullet." Fryer shrugged as he looked at the pair of us.
5-0~5-0~5-0~5-0~5-0
Suddenly we could hear Chin shouting loudly. "Do you know who Frank Delano's partner was when he was on the job? Do you know? It was Fryer!" Chin yelled as we all turned our attention to Fryer. "Delano almost took Fryer down with him when he lost his badge!" Chin yelled as we all walked back into the room. Fryer stopped by the door, keeping his distance from all of the 5-0 team. "Don't you get it?! Fryer's using you! He's using you to get revenge!" Chin yelled as he pointed a finger at Fryer.
"Is that true? Delano was your partner?" Steve asked looking from Chin to Fryer. Fryer just nodded plainly.
"And your going after your ex partner." I stated unimpressed as Fryer walked into the room.
"My issue with Delano has nothing to do with this." Fryer explained looking from Chin, to me, then to Kono. To me, it felt like he was trying to convince Kono more than anyone else in the room.
"This has nothing to do with going after bad guys, ok. This is about you getting even with him right? Huh? You put Kono's life in danger to settle a personal score, not just Kono's life but an innocent civilian who's still out there." Steve barked as he squared up to Fryer again.
"That's exactly why Kono has to go back in. Without her we have nothing on Delano and no way to find Trisha Joiner." Fryer explained waving a hand towards Kono.
"There's got to be another way, it doesn't have to be Kono." Steve argued, worried about one of his own.
"Yes it does." Fryer ground out the words.
"Why does it have to be Kono?" Steve snapped back.
"It does because the only reason Delano let Kono near his organisation was because she came out of 5-0. Now everybody on this island knows that you play it fast and loose. She was an easy sale that she was dirty. You looking to blame someone for why Kono's in danger, just look in the mirror." Fryer explained shaking his head as he looked at Steve. This made Steve snap, I was certain he was going to throw a punch Fryer's way any second.
"What'd you do Fryer huh?! What'd you do to coerce Kono to come and work for you?! Did you tell her that you'd come after me?! Come after Chin-Ho huh?! What'd you do?!" Steve snapped growling at Fryer as he lost his temper.
"When did you stop believing the ends justify the means? I used what I had to, just like you do." Fryer argued pointing a finger at Steve.
"She's a year out-" Steve argued when Fryer cut him off.
"She's a cop!" Fryer shouted over him.
"She's a year out of the academy! You got her driving round town with a dead killer in the car!" Steve yelled as the room fell silent for a few moments, everyone glancing at each other. I caught Kono's eye and saw how utterly conflicted she was feeling. She was really caught in the middle. "We opened fire on her today. We could have killed her. I would never do that." Steve said in soft tone as we let that sink it. The fact we could have killed Kono today.
"You underestimate yourself and Kono." Fryer bit back. Suddenly Kono's phone started to buzz on the table.
"It's Delano." Kono spoke up, looking from the phone to all of us.
"Answer it!" Fryer snapped.
"Don't answer it!" Steve barked over him. "You don't have to listen to him anymore Kono."
"She doesn't answer it my entire investigation is blown." Fryer explained. "Three years."
"I have to" Kono said getting everyone's attention. "Trisha Joiners life depends on it."
"She goes in, 5-0 goes in to back her up." Steve ordered pointing a finger nearly in Fryers face.
"Done." Fryer would have agreed to nearly anything to get Kono to answer the phone. "Answer it." Fryer pointed to the phone as Kono spun round and picked up her phone.
"Frank... yeah I took care of it... I'm on my way back." Kono sighed out as we all realised she wasn't getting out of this until Delano was behind bars. We headed back up to the office and explained everything to Danny and Lori who were revealed to her Kono was still on our side. We grabbed our vests and started to grab weapons to back Kono up no matter how it as going to go down.
"Fryer, I want to be able to track her the whole time, alright?" Steve asked pointing to Kono.
"Delano's an ex cop he'll spot a tail a mile off," Kono spoke up. "And no wire, the first thing he'll do is pat me down when I get back. He doesn't trust me."
"Kono's right, the only reason he's pulling her in now, is because he's down a man." Fryer explained as he loaded up his shot gun.
"Ok, I'll get you a message as soon as I can." Kono sighed out looking over to Steve.
"It's not going to be that easy, ok. Delano isn't going to leave you alone." Steve explained as he looked over to Kono.
"I'll figure it out." Kono replied confidently.
"Alright, we'll be in a van, ready to move on your word." Steve reassured her as she looked nervous.
"Alright, I couldn't ask for better back up." Kono replied taking a moment to look at all of us before walking out of the room.
5-0~5-0~5-0~5-0~5-0
We drove out and waited to hear from Kono. I was sat in the van with Chin and Lori as we tried to be ready for the moment she contacted us. It had been two hours since we let her go and she still hadn't got back to us. I believed in Kono's skills, I knew she was a strong woman, but even after two hours I was starting to worry.
"We need to try and make contact." Lori sighed as she turned to me and Chin who were sat at the computers, each of us with a headset on.
"Way ahead of you there Lori." I smirked at her watching a loading screen. I heard the door open and got to my feet, moving to stand behind Chin as Steve, Fryer and Danny walked into the van. Danny took my empty seat next to Chin as I watched the loading screen finish and the programme load up.
"What you doing?" Danny asked as the guys looked at the screens confused.
"Trying to activate the microphone in Kono's cellphone." Chin explained as he typed away. "If I get it, it'll work like a wire." He added plainly.
"You can do that?" Danny asked impressed.
"We'll see." Chin answered as he worked on it.
"We remotely downloaded the spy ware onto her operating system." I explained with a small shrug. "It's one I've used before to catch cheating ex. I know it works." I added darting my eyes away from the guys as I felt the heat rise in my cheeks.
"Huh." Danny replied as I just shook my head hiding a smirk.
"We should be able to use it to pick up an audio signal." Chin explained ignoring my comment.
"This. This better be worth it, you understand?" Steve grunted to Fryer. It was clear the pair still didn't like each other very much.
"It will be. Look the money is the thing that ties Delano to the murders. Catch him with the money, he goes away for life." Fryer explained to Steve, trying to keep him calm.
"I'm getting audio, it's staticy but it's something." Chin explained as it played through our headsets. It was hard to pick up any words. I frowned shaking my head.
"Here, let me." I lent in between Danny and Chin, typing away at a few things. "I remember how to clear it up." I muttered as the audio started to clear up.
"Mrs Joiner... you have something that belongs to me." A male voice said but the line was still broken.
"No, no I don't know what your talking about." A nervous woman replied. I understood that the woman was Trisha Joiner.
"Your husband was holding some money in his bank account for me. I believe you took it." The male voice said again, there was a tone to his voice. It was threatening.
"Oh god I... I didn't know... I didn't... You killed Brian?!" Trisha sobbed when realisation hit her. "Where's Carl?!" She blurted out before the line went into static again.
"They're moving... just hang on." I huffed leaning between the pair again as I hit the keys. "I can clear some of it up, but while their moving it wont be crystal clear." I huffed.
"I'm getting a clearer signal." Chin explained as we all waited to hear what was happening.
"Keep going South." Trisha explained sounding terrified.
"They're on the move." Chin explained as he listened carefully. "They've got Trisha Joiner."
"Bank of Oahu is about five blocks down." Trisha explained in between sobs.
"They're heading to a bank of Oahu." Chin explained to the others.
"What branch?" Danny asked as Chin shook his head, they hadn't mentioned anything to indicate where they were.
"We can't go in guns blazing, it will only provoke a hostage situation." Fryer sighed out as he looked from Chin and Danny, to me and Steve.
"He's right." Steve nodded in agreement. "We wait until Delano and his crew exit the bank with the money, that's when we take him down."
"Got it! The location is Hulu vine and Lake side." Chin cried out as they finally gave some indication of where they were.
"Go! Let's go!" Steve yelled as everyone filed out of the van.
5-0~5-0~5-0~5-0~5-0
We cornered off the roads leaning to the bank and took up positions ready to storm in at a moments notice. I was at the left of the bank with a semi automatic rife, knelt near a few potted plants for cover.
"Delano's got an eye on the street." Steve voice's came through my ear piece as I ducked down lower to make sure I wouldn't be spotted. "The guys armed, wired for communication to the crew inside. Tense perimeter awareness. Stay tight and hold your perimeter." Steve ordered to us all. We waited, all locked down in our positions, waiting for any sign of Delano and his crew leaving. We must have been waiting ten minutes when the guard outside started to look edgy.
"Hey, our friend here is getting restless... he's going for a walk." I commented as I watched the guy out front of the bank look up and down before jogging towards where I was.
"He's taking a walk guys... taking a walk." Steve echoed my words down the comms.
"Listen the patrol is up the street. There is no way we can pull them back before he sees them." Danny explained in my ear as I realised we might get busted.
"Got about twenty yards before he hits the corner." Lori added as she watched from above.
"Twenty yards till he spots me then- super." I added sarcastically.
"If he sees us, we've got a bank full of hostages." Danny pointed out seriously.
"Hold your positions, do not engage. Do not engage." Steve ordered as I moved so I was peaking out from the edge of the plant pots. I watched as the guy walked towards me and the edge of the perimeter. I ducked my head back and pressed my body into the pots as I waited to see what he was going to do. All he had to do was glance down and he would have spotted me. Out of no where Steve hit him a few times knocking him out cold.
"Thanks." I whispered looking over to Steve, who just smirked at me. Before Steve could actually say anything there was gun fire and the alarm in the bank set off. We all closed round the entrance of the building as the man I presumed was Delano and his men walked out. Delano had a woman as a human shield. I glanced at all the men and noticed that Kono was missing from them, along with Trisha Joiner.
"Hold your fire! He has a hostage, hold your fire!" Steve yelled as we all crept toward the gunmen. Delano opened fire at me and Steve, hailing bullets our way. Luckily both me and Steve managed to duck behind a police car.
"Why do I always nearly get shot around you?" I huffed as we ducked down, around the breaking glass.
"It's not always!" Steve pouted making me smirk and shake my head at him. I heard gun shots coming from the side of us and peeked my head up enough to see Danny shooting the other gunmen. Delano paused his fire and we could all hear the woman pleading for her life. Everyone aimed at the last man standing – Delano. He looked like a deer stuck in headlights, not knowing who to focus on. Captain Fryer pulled out his side arm and walked towards Delano, the rest of us keeping aim as his cover.
"Let her go Frank!" Fryer ordered as he edged towards Delano.
"You gonna shoot me Vince?" Delano asked Fryer, in a cocky tone.
"Let her go! You know, you don't want to do this!" Fryer called back, his finger resting on the trigger.
"You think I wont do it?" Delano asked backing away slowly.
"You don't think I will?" Fryer challenged his old partner. The pair stared at each other when Fryer pulled the trigger hitting Delano in the shoulder knocking him sideways, before letting one more shot out to knock him to the ground. Fryer stood over Delano with his gun drawn, the pair just realising how much they had changed from when they were partners.

Once we cleared the weapons I went in the bank with the EMT's intending to help out where I could. As I walked in I found Kono slumped against the lifts. I rushed over to her and smiled as she turned to me. She was awake, alive, but seemed to be bleeding from her shoulder.
"So, it's not just McGarrett who's a bullet magnet huh?" I teased kneeling down next to her.
"Trisha Joiner is safe, down below. I had to get her safe." Kono replied sitting up so that I could get a look at her wound. I grabbed some bandage and rolled her sleeve up.
"You're lucky, this is a bullet gaze. It could have been a lot worse." I warned her as I met her eyes. Kono didn't care. She was happy she had managed to save Trisha and helped catch Delano, it was written all over her face.
"Stings." She hissed as I wrapped the bandage round the top of her arm.
"Yeah, they tend to do that." I smirked making sure I tied it off firmly. "But I think you'll live." I beamed getting to my feet and holding my hand out to her. Kono took and pulled herself onto her feet too before wrapping her arms around me.
"Thank you for being here for Chin, Danny and Steve." She whispered as we hugged. I pulled out of her hug and smirked.
"We're Ohana." I shrugged plainly as if it answered everything. Kono nodded in agreement as we walked out of the bank. Chin spotted us and walked over to us. I let them have a moment. I walked over to Danny who was leaning on the front of a cop car and nudged him with my shoulder.
"Hey." He smiled at me, shifting along so that I could lean against it too. "How's Kono?" He asked glancing as the cousins hugged.
"Shaken up, a graze on her shoulder, but she'll be just fine." I replied watching the pair. Danny cleared his throat as I turned back to face him, his baby blue eyes locking on mine.
"This is been a crazy case huh?" He asked folding his arms over his chest.
"Oh yeah." I nodded awkwardly.
"Made me think about a few things too." Danny continued as I turned my head toward him.
"It has?" I asked nervously as I felt the butterflies build in my stomach.
"Yeah," Danny replied turning his head to face me. "I've been-" Danny started to say when Steve all too calmly walked past us and headed towards Fryer. I pushed myself off the cop car as Steve called out to Fryer. Fryer turned and was met by a mean right hook.
"No body messes with my team, alright?" Steve asked still sounding too calm. Fryer wiped the blood away from his mouth nodding.
"Duly noted Commander." He replied looking Steve straight in the eyes. Steve nodded walking back to us, shaking his hand.
"Let's go home." Steve said leading us all away from the crime scene.

That night I was in my office grabbing my things. The day had been too long, I was just looking forward to getting a pizza, a few beers and crawling into my bed. A soft knock on my door made me turn around to see Danny stood there rocking on his heels.
"What are you still doing here?" I smirked as he walked into my office. I knew everyone else had gone home, Kono requesting that we have drinks at the weekend to celebrate her return to 5-0.
"I wanted to catch you before you... left." Danny explained as he glanced around my office.
"Well, good timing I was just about to head out." I smirked, picking up my bag and slipping it onto my shoulder.
"Great." Danny smirked clapping his hands together. "I just wanted to talk to you about today."
"Today?" I asked leaning on the edge of my desk, I was preparing myself for another telling off for jumping into danger.
"Yeah, that thing with Joiner at his home." Danny explained as he looked to the floor. I braced myself as I waited for the explosion to start. Danny let out his breath as he looked up and met my eyes again. He paused just looking into my eyes as I felt my heart race slightly.
"Danny?" I asked soft as he was just watching, not one word leaving his lips. "Hey, Danny are you-" I was cut off as he rushed forward, taking my face in his hands and pressing his lips against mine. I was shocked. My mind went blank as I tensed for a second before melting into his kiss. My hands found their way round to the back of his neck as I pulled him closer to me. Our bodies pressing into each other as we kissed passionately. It was perfect. It was heaven. It was so-
"Nik! You still here?!" Bradley's voice called out in the hallway, shooting a bolt between me and Danny as he jumped back . I gasped as my heart raced. My wide eyes were locked on Danny as I tried to process everything that happened. "Hey Nik, Steve told me you'd still be here." Bradley beamed as he walked into the office, making both me and Danny turn to him. "Oh hey, Danny right?" Bradley asked holding a hand out to Danny.
"Yeah, hey." Danny replied shaking his hand before his eyes darted back to me. "I should be going. Night guys." Danny rushed out of the office as Bradley turned to me oblivious to what he had just walked in on.
"Something I said?" Bradley joked as I watched Danny, take a quick glance at me before rushing out of the building. I blinked and turned back to Bradley who was giving me a goofy grin.
"Long case." I answered half out of it. Bradley stepped forward and put his hand on my arm.
"Hey, you ok Nik?" He asked frowning at me. Am I ok? Danny just kissed me before rushing out of here like his arse was on fire! How am I meant to be ok with that? Really?
Ok so please don't hate me for leaving it like that!
