AN: I would like to thank everyone for sticking with me on this! I would like to point out that I did warn at the beginning of this that there would be lots of drug use. I wrote Bella as an addict. Addicts use drugs! And people commenting on my unrealistic portrayal of drug use, when I was a user, these were my behaviors or those of people I knew. I am tired of comments like. 'Ugh drugs'… 'jeez more drugs'… 'ugh sodomy'… 'Terrible story'… If you don't like my story stop reading it. Stop complaining about something I warned you about in chapter one. This is MY story, I also warned that this is a Bella unlike others have created and I won't apologize for that. I am only continuing this story for the wonderful fans. Not the whiney brats who don't like how I have changed Bella. I'm sorry it a short chapter I didn't realize how much time I had spent on my book
Chapter 14
Bella's time in La Push felt surreal. She spent most of it putting the things in order she had ignored on her flight from town three years earlier. While Quil helped get the girls settled Bella worked on boxing the things she intended to store. Although, she truly believed she would never retrieve them from storage she just couldn't part with a lot of them. She started in Sarah's room keeping only Sarah's drawings, her stuffed bear, her diary, and the photo board next to the desk that was covered in pictures of those most important to Sarah. She moved to Charlie and the baby's room boxing the stuffed wolf of Charlie's, his pictures and his favorite train book. She packed the baby quilt she had made for the baby and moved to the living areas. She boxed all pictures and albums, the Quileute wedding quilt Sue and the women of the tribe had gifted the couple at their wedding. She left everything in the kitchen as it was choosing instead to give it to Deanne. She only removed the pictures from the fridge and the moonshine supply she had hidden in the back of the pantry those she intended to take back to Texas. She added the boxes of her parents' belongings to those going to storage in Forks. She saved the master for last knowing it would be the hardest. She boxed most of Jakes work shirts leaving three to take with her, all photos and memorabilia from the kids. She pulled down the blanket her mother had made her for graduation for storage.
Her jewelry box was saved for last. In the end she chose to just store the whole box and everything in it. With the exception of the leather cuff imprint bracelet Jacob had presented that she would return to Paul and Rachel. It was a Black heirloom and as such should go to Racheal's children should one turn. It must stay in the Black bloodline.
Bella spent half a day in Forks with a lawyer formalizing the transfer of both houses mortgages. Charlie's home which Leah and Embry were living in when she left was now empty. They had built their own home in La Push last year. Bella had transferred the Black residence to Deanne, contingent on Rachel's' approval. Bella also arranged for Charlie's house to be sold, the proceeds of which would be split evenly between the La Push School and a fund the pack can draw from for anything they may need. Her interest in Wolf automotive would be split equally between Quil and Embry. She left the dispersal of the clothing and furniture in both houses to the discretion of the pack and council. On her way back from the lawyer Bella stopped at the florists and made arrangements for flowers to be delivered on the graves of everyone who died because of Victoria. They would be delivered on birthdays and Jacob would also receive flowers on their anniversary.
She was now at Wolf Automotive giving her bike a tune up preparing it for the ride back to Texas. Bouncing in the back of the moving truck with all of Deanne's things had been a bit hard on the bike. Not to mention the tools to really do the job well. She felt as if she had fallen back in time with the guys surrounding her. Unlike when she left everyone had healed from the loss and moved on with life to some extent. Bella was surrounded by Quil and Embry's laughter it was such a good feeling. While watching Embry watching Leah in the office Bella realized this trip home had helped her overcome some of her guilt. She was healing. It didn't hurt as much to breathe.
She knew she would be leaving again in the morning only this time she didn't think she would ever be back. She needed the closure and so did the pack. They had been through too much together for her to leave without saying goodbye. She was getting antsy to leave. She was feeling the need to get back to Texas partly because there she didn't face the ghosts everywhere she looks. The other part being that she was quickly stretching the limits of how long she could go without the drugs. It was a problem but it was a necessary problem. The drugs were the only way she could handle the pain from the broken imprint bond. She had spoken to Jasper twice since being in Washington and she was serious when she asked him about turning her. At night when Bella was alone all she could think about was what she could do to Victoria if she had vampire strength. She was almost salivating at all the possibilities…
